Planet Fitness is a small size gym. Employees are welcoming and helpful. It is usually clean. They have one red light booth. Recently nine bulbs out of only 30 have burned out. The request for bulbs being out is quite slow which makes the treatment a waste of time. Planet Fitness corporate allows only authorized people to replace their bulbs. They need to step up their game !!!! read more

Shout out to Riley and Grace at the front desk. Their enthusiasm and help goes a long way. Especially Riley who helped me figure out the whole body workout thingy, it is not intuitive (at all) and he was very patient and figured it out. Also, when I arrived this morning for my 2nd visit, his greeting was great, He remembered me and asked me if I was here to do the whole body workout. This is especially important for someone like me, who's not a gym person and I'm just trying to just show up and do this machine due to some injuries that I'm trying to heal. The front people in any business are the directors of first impressions, The greeting you receive when you walk into a business is huge and it can make or break a business. The gym is good but the Fox News in my face is offensive. I think a gym should be non political.

Staff and management do their absolute best and are very nice, however no matter how many work orders they put in, the equipment at this club is constantly broken. I bought the black card membership because I like the massage beds, tanning, and red light therapy vibration machine. Unfortunately these things are very often broken, and tonight I got there to find out that only one of their six massage options were working. Last week it was 3. The owners of this place are awful, they won't respond to work orders put in by the staff. And the staff have to deal with the outcome of that terrible service by the owners. This PF is the best one in So King. I have been to them all. Great vibe. Very happy and welcoming. Sometimes they play norteño, which I love. Newer equipment than some other PFs near by. I use the whole gym and the spa and is all good. Lots of regulars. People are chill. read more

I would give no stars if I could. The Assistant General Manger Kurt was extremely rude and condescending to me today when I went to check in. I don't know if he has an issue with women or POC but I've been to this location recently numerous times with no issues. He hassled me saying my bill past due and when I showed him in the app that it was good he continued to hassle me. I told him I was going to go to another location where I usually workout since he seemed so confrontational. When I left an older man saw me coming out upset and asked me what was going on. I told him and he said everyone was new there. I called Kurt on my way to the other location to ask for a manager or owners number to speak with about the situation. He refused to give me both stating that there was no one else but him and hung up on me. Then he called the other location!!! And told them to refuse me. A location I've been going to daily recently. Wow I've never had someone be so malicious. Strangely enough I found the owners info for his club (so he lied) and the other club helped me figure out what was the issue. I told them exactly what I told him. I showed them the app and they got me all sorted no issues and a thank you to them for their help. Honestly if you're gonna hire a thug to be a bill collector for you put him on the phones not up front dealing with customers. I won't step foot back in this club. Stopped by planet fitness to use the restroom really quickly on my way home. Pay for it might as well take advantage of normally clean restroom. This particular planet fitness this is the second time I've run into men in our ladies locker room just hanging out. Woman that work there at the counter not paying attention gossiping with her mom. You're a grown woman why is your mom hanging out at your job that's the first and the second it's evident you aren't paying attention the women's bathroom is right in your face and you didn't notice or see that man walk into our restroom. Wtf is wrong with planet fitness out here. They just let these men do whatever they want it seems. read more

I'm just here to complain about people and not Planet Fitness. There is a section within the gym dedicated to a thirty minute workout. There are 20 different workouts to complete and should follow them in numerical order. Unfortunately, many people don't know how to read and they'll come in and use a machine and leave. GOD forbid they use that same machine in the area they just came from! Other than that, this facility is clean. read more

I had to come in for an issue with my account and was met with a new manager, Jennifer, and I have to brag about her. She was sweet and polite and so helpful. The staff was busy cleaning or helping guests and the gym looked amazing. I definitely recommend this location. read more

The staff at the front barely acknowledge you upon check in. Half the time most the paper towel rolls are empty so you have to walk across the gym over and over to the one that still has paper in it to wipe down a machine after you are done with it. And people sit at machines for 10-20 minutes while they check emails, post on Facebook, or otherwise browse the internet. So a workout that should take an hour takes 90+ minutes because you have to wait for people to finish up on their phones. I'm going to switch gyms. I guess you get what you pay for. Another disappointing day at the gym... just can't seem to get trainers that give a damn any more... This gym had really good trainers 2 years ago, probably the best this gym has had... I met the new trainer last week at the Kent/Des moines location, talked about joining a 30 min cardio class, and at the end we both were super excited, well I thought atleast... I signed up for 3/28/22 at 6:30am class of the 30 min cardio.. I got to gym around 6:10, got on the Arc machine until around 6:25am looked around and didn't see trainer at all... So I decided to go over to the 30 min cardio section and waited for about 5 min, walked around and still couldn't find the trainer... So I decided to do the 30 min workout myself, got done and as I was leaving, I walked right pass him and he looked right at me and didn't even say a word.. Starting to wonder about this gym, and the staff at this location... Can't even depend on a trainer to help the people that are asking for it, what's the point of having trainers? Woohoo! Planet Fitness (PF) has opened another location near me! I love this gym. Everything is new, and the equipment are fully available. The staff are nice, and I can do my work-out and walk out feeling great! I won't go into details about the gym interior due to the structure is exactly the same with any other PF, and I described everything on my review about PF in Renton. Yes, there's a Safeway next to the gym that you can run your grocery errands as well! Strongly recommended! read more

This place is open 24 hrs Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday I think 8a to 9p. Everything is new and clean. Hope the staff can maintain the place up. They bought Fitness Evolution. Cost is $10 a month or $20 if you wanted to use massage chair, tanning, and bring your buddy to work out with you. read more

I first joined Planet Fitness in 2012 in Los Angeles. I was a black card member there so when I moved to Seattle I went to the Renton location. There were only 2 in the whole Washington area at the time. I then moved to Tukwila so I canceled the Planet Fitness and joined LA Fitness again. Their gyms are always just 'okay'. When I had a baby I tried to use their kid room once at the Kent location and it was not a good experience. Canceled soon after. March 31st this Planet Fitness opened and I signed up sight unseen before it opened. Now that it's open and I've had the chance to try it, it's better than any 24 Hour, LA Fitness and previous Planet Fitness I've been too. Love this place and their many 'spa' options in the black card area. read more

Affordable and 24 hours and I love the massage chairs. The staff is always friendly and courteous.

Update: It has now been 8 months, finally got my membership downgraded to classic last month. But for some reason they keep billing me for $25 still. They're telling me I'm unable to get a refund. I don't understand how I can't get a refund when I've been trying to downgrade from black card to classic for this long. They really make it so difficult for you to downgrade/cancel your membership and it's fucking annoying. I've been overcharged for my classic membership for about 3 months now, when I first wanted to downgrade from black card. My advice is: if you're not planning on staying with this gym for years then don't sign up. They really make it difficult for you to cancel when apparently there's supposed to be "no commitment" to the gym. That's a load of bullshit. If it was true they would make it easy and simple to downgrade and cancel. read more

The staff is friendly and they always greet you as come in and as you leave. I enjoy the amount of cardio machines available even during peak hours. The in-app virtual workouts are perfect and if I ever have a question, the team members are always available to help. I highly recommend this location. It's clean and well organized. They wrote, "it was unfortunate to hear" that you have to give them your personal banking information in order to join, like they've never heard of THEIR OWN POLICY? and they wanted me to email them for more information. The gym is fine. It's clean and there are lots of machines and free weights. But you also get what you pay for. No group exercise classes. The staff barely acknowledges you and some treat you like a bother when you take them away from their cell phones to ask a question or for help. There is a hard push to upgrade to their black card level. Very often the paper towels to clean the machines are empty Agree with other reviews that many guests sit on the machines while checking email and texting. This is a passable option for the monthly cost. Nothing fancy. read more

This has all to do with the billing. They ask for your bank account info such as routing number and account number. You cannot give it to them without it being from your bank such as a direct deposit. The first time I brought in a form it did not have my name on it, but did have my account number and routing number the bank forgot to put my name on it. A couple weeks passed got a call twice in one day, took a few days to go to the physical bank to get another copy. I brought it in and they took the form they don't give you a copy or take a copy. Started getting texts from planet fitness saying issues with my account. Stopped by desk at PF and showed them, they looked at my account said everything looks ok. He would research. Today a week later I get another call saying issues with my account. Come to find out the second time someone entered it in their computer incorrect. So I must for a third time go to the bank get another paper with info. I am starting to think the universe has a message for me that this is not supposed to work out for me. I should not have to work so hard to have them take my money. Tyler the big manager called left me a message that it was their error they waived the late fee but I need to pay. When I log in to the PF website and enter my email it says no such email, so I cannot even work it that way. Anyway I am about ready to give up and join somewhere else. I got kicked out of this planet fitness because I didn't have a lock to lockup my gym bag. I will no longer be a part of a gym that will not let you have your gym bag on the floor. This is the planet fitness in Kent Washington 27073 pacific hwy s and I asked if my belongings get stolen out of the locker room will you guys be replacing it and I was told no. The guy that was working today 01/06/2023 between 12:30pm-1pm told me it was part of my membership that I put my belongings in the locker room, but they will not cover it if someone came in and steal the stuff, even if it was locked. read more

This place offers "classes" but there is actually nothing ever available so look closely. If you want guidance you won't get it here. Also when you want to cancel it must be in person. You cant do it online or on the phone. Funny they make taking your money easy! I logged in under my account and it said there was no automatic renewal and that I was on a month to month then they charged me an extra $42 annual fee! Isn't that renewal? WTH? read more

Planet fitness makes it almost impossible to cancel your account and if you block them through your bank they find a way to work around it and still charge you. If you change your card number they still find a way to charge you. No corporate number, can't cancel at the stores. read more

I'd been a member of this franchise location since it opened in 2017 after having been a member of a more distant franchise. For the price, the PF model is satisfactory for my needs. I had a conversation a few months ago (last summer?) after a change in staff and management about my teasing of the staff. This had not been a problem with the prior crew. Also, one member got upset with me when I asked if she had finished with a machine. I thought the new manager and I had worked things out after I promised to no longer tease the staff and mentioned I had already apologized to the member. Three days ago my membership was cancelled with no warning. I returned to ask why and was told it had to do with the incidents describe above. Given the length of time involved, this made no sense to me and I can only conclude it was personal. My wife has cancelled her membership and my friend and workout partner will likely cancel his. In addition, prior to my conversation with the manager, I witnessed the manager talking to another member whose contract had been cancelled. This time it was for training with a friend that was perceived as personal training, something he objected to strenuously. read more

Will not refund charge! I am very upset with Planet Fitness because I saw a charge of $31 on my bank account and I didn't even know it was reopening. They say they sent out emails but they have my number. They could have just as easily called or texted me. I wasn't even thinking about going back to the gym. During this pandemic, you wouldn't catch me in there with a hazmat suit! And since I'm not working now, that $31 could have gone toward food or something I actually use! And why the no refund policy? That seems a bit fraudulent to me. And if that isn't enough, I have to either go in to Planet Fitness or go to the post office to send through certifiable mail a request to cancel my membership! I just think the whole situation was handled quite poorly and I will be warning everyone on every platform to beware of ever joining Planet Fitness! read more

Don't be fooled by the low rate. I have had memberships at planet fitness as I've moved. However, this will be my last one. I just went in to cancel on the 12th and was told I will be billed on the 16th for the NEXT month... The 'manager' could barely mumble the reason why. Something about not being able to cancel my payment in time. Yes, the payment that won't happen for another 4 days. Maybe this person should have been trained better and explained the basics of banking. Recap: In 4 days I will be paying a full month's membership that I canceled today. The reason is because they are unable to stop the charge from occurring (???) This was the reason given to me by someone claiming to be the manager. You pay for what you get. The gym is super clean, equipment kept in good repair, nice staff....so long as you don't actually need any help. Except for mask wearing, none of the other club rules are enforced. Since there are only a couple rules, it's irritating and frustrating that those few are not enforced by staff....on the rare occasions I've seen staff try, as often as not the member just says no and does whatever they want (without repercussions). I've been instructed to enlist front desk employees if there are problems on the floor, but they don't usually resolve the issue and next time I ask I receive a different suggestion on how to resolve the problem....Tired of the hassle, tired of the headache the mask gives me during a physical workout. read more

I walked in and signed up today. Ellise T. ( I think) was so nice and helpful. I recently moved to Washington and gave up my treadmill when I did. And I don't have the space for one now. I recently had bariatric surgery and was cleared for exercise. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, and tendonitis but I am trying to better myself. I got the black card membership so I can go to any location in the country because I travel. I tried the hydro massage chair after my workout and it was so nice. I have never tried a tanning bed but I may try it before my next tropical island vacation. I look forward to reaching my goals. read more

I had a great laugh 2day. It was hilarious 2 me that no gym was open today. Of all the days to be closed when most people didn't go to work today. This company has a major problem serving its customers. Why in gods name when your competition 2 blocks away was closed today don't u try to get more customers on the best day of the year to do it. If I had a business like with it's kickass location I would market the hell out of it. The only thing wrong with it is it's a little small. The space next next to it is vacant.
