I tried this on a guest pass and liked it more than I thought I would. It felt biger and busier than some gyms, but not in a bad way, and as a woman doing a trial visit I appreciated being able to get the vibe without feeling out of place. There was enough going on that you could do your own thing and kind of disapear into the flow, which I count as a win. Worth trying if you want more equipment and class options. read more

Staff is alright. Nothing outstanding about the experience. Gloomy almost. Anyway, they have an area for kids, which is not opened. I asked them when they thought they'd open up the area for the kids and their response was they weren't going to open it up anymore. I was interested in joining this room because of the classes they offered so I showed up to the Zumba class today and it was geared more towards the elderly. There were the most softcore movements and outdated music, which wasn't even Zumba by the way. I stuck around for a bit to see if maybe that was just a little warm-up but the entire class revolved on taking micro steps and putting your hands up into the side. I didn't wanna waste my time not getting a good workout in so I left. So far, I've had good luck in having the machine accessible, but it's rare to see white pieces to clean down the machines and I don't see people cleaning anyways. I'm trying out their three day pass so for their hundred dollars start up and $50 a month, I'm going to pass. read more

Love this location it is super clean and quiet. I came here before the New Years and after. People just mind their own business and don't give you weird looks. Everyone's just doing their own thing and that's how it should be at a gym. There's quite a lot of equipment and weights. The locker rooms are clean and normally empty also. There's not much mats but it's good enough and often available to use. I didn't have a problem like others with the racial profiling from staffs. It's more on the expensive side for the rate prices though. read more

I've been with LA for almost 3 years, and can confidently say I've never experienced worse customer service. Customer service is horrendous at this club. You ask the employees simple questions and they don't know the answers to it (I don't blame them, I blame management). The management will tell you, you have to be patient concerning the company taking YOUR money and not supplying you with the service you're paying for, because "they have a whole new staff and the person with the most seniority at this club hasn't even been there for 6 months." Upon escalating the issue I had to management I was insulted, disrespected, and lied to. After asking numerous employees when a personal trainer is going to be back in, five different times, and being told each time they had no idea. This is why I roped in a manager. The weekend manager, was relatively condescending and very and basically told me the only way that I can get out of my contract to continue to pay them more money, even though they have taken payments from me without providing a service and basically told me it was my fault for not knowing that they hired new trainers a month ago... this was never made clear to me. They never once walked me through how to reserve a trainer on the app. When I signed up, I was given my trainers # and would set up my next session after each session ended. We were doing 50 minute training sessions when I initially signed up. I was not told it was on me to use the app to reserve my spot. For this, I was insulted and told it's my fault for not doing it. Maybe they should've followed this procedure from the beginning and actually walked me through how to do it accurately? Not only this but they tell you they'll call you back regarding your issue but make no attempt. I had to go in, in person, multiple times to speak to someone who "has the knowledge" to fix my situation. I was told a number of times to speak to Rafael or Sam. Rafael NEVER met with or spoke to me because he was "with clients" or "working out", I didn't realize that they can do personal workouts instead of helping a customer who's been trying to reach them for over 48 hours. And then when I talked to corporate, the corporate office tells me that Rafael is not even a manager, and that he couldn't even help me so for this club to try to pass me to him to solve my issue, speaks volumes to me. When I went in to speak to Sam, this is after being ignored and told I would get a call from him, I'm told he wasn't there and would be back at 4. Matt had told me 6 hours prior he would speak to Sam about this issue, and when I spoke to Sam face to face it was like this was the first time he was hearing of my issue. This is ridiculous, and hammered the nail in the coffin of my trust with this company. Because how are you as an operations manager going to say g you're going to handle the issue and get back to me and never do? And then the person who actually HAS the experience in my issue, is being made freshly aware of the issue. It tells me that management doesn't actually do their jobs and tries to dismiss issues in hopes you won't follow up. When I finally speak to the personal training manager, Sam, after being tossed around like a hot potato, and having to go in and take more of my own time, to speak to him after being told that he would call me (mind you when I walked in he was playing a game on his phone), I find out that he never even gave my contact info to the new trainers that they had hired a month ago (apparently they had trainers the whole time and didn't make this known to people who are paying for training, nor the employees so they can tell customers this VITAL information). Had I not have demanded to speak to a manager I would've never known that they had trainers. Also signed up for 50 minute training sessions, I am now being told that they only offer 25 minute sessions (what's the point of that?) So not only was I mislead by the old GM, but they changed their agreements to the contract without notifying their contracted customers. (Absolutely bogus, I would never sign up for 25 minute sessions because that doesn't get you a decent workout in that time). Sam took my name and phone number down and said that he would reach out to his higher up and he would call me this morning. I still have yet to hear back from him to reach out on my own, and the front desk person told me that he would call me. The front desk associates are probably the only polite, caring and respectful people in this joint. Their management is the problem. I have since escalated my issues to corporate because clearly the management at this LA fitness club doesn't care to rectify issues. It is absolutely absurd that they have time to write notes and leave them all over the gym telling us patrons to not be on our cell phones or to re-rack our weights, but they can't even so much put a note up something that people are paying a minimum of $250 for? read more

So it was an LA Fitness and then it became a different company and whatever the company is now I've noticed 2 changes. 1. I've noticed they took away all the stretching mats for the whole gym except a single mat. 2. An added section where you can do a rope workout with a trainer located right next to the sales ppl. For the past several weeks I have received 3-4 calls per day and a voice mail message from Alex at Auburn. Alex at LA Fitness Auburn does not understand that cold call solicitations is not his God given right. If you call to ask them to stop calling you will be cursed at with the f-bomb, lamented to about military service and told to f-off and hung up on. How can they expect new people to join when they treat you this disrespectfully before being a member? They violate their own privacy and harassment policies under the guise of I am just doing my job. Then threaten you with police action for calling to complain and be added to the do not call list because you are now harassing them. If you hadn't called me first, I would never call them. If I were the kind of person to join a gym, it would never be LA Fitness now. Take a hint LA Fitness, if I am not returning calls or answering voice mails means I am not interested. after finishing my workout I went to have a seat at the front of the building in the two chairs. While waiting for my boyfriend to come out the locker room. I was approached by a front desk staff member, she asked me " Do you belong here? " I was so offended and taken back by her comment I didn't have words to respond, before I could even explain myself, she then grabbed her manager (Julian) who approached me and asked aggressively " how can I help you?" " are you waiting for someone? " at this point I knew there was no doubt I was being racially profiled for sitting in the front guest chairs of the gym for 7 minutes. I'm curious if the sitting area were reserved for white members only, or have a time limit. Since I'm an African American woman this is completely unacceptable to be treated this way. I will be contacting my community leaders about this treatment. And aggressive line of questioning. After the manager approached me and left, my boyfriend was walking towards me so we can leave together. At this point he have yet to say anything to anyone to avoid escalating an already very uncomfortable and hostile situation. As I was walking to the door the same front desk lady chastised me with a sarcastic wave and smile . I told her " don't wave at me". Immediately the same manager got in my face in a threatening manner . I told him to back up. He said don't talk to my staff that way. He began yelling and moving closer to my Face. Out of protection my boyfriend said to the manger "you're not going to talk to her like that" . And asked me to go to the car and wait for him, while he talk to the manager about his behavior towards me, and incident involving the racist staff member. I don't feel safe going to the gym there any longer after that. I can't hide my skin color, and should be free to wait, and sit in a chair for 7 minutes without being harassed . I will be taking this injustice to social media so I can make other African Americans aware of the situation, so that this may not happen to them! I even called back later and asked the manger Julian for his last name, he refused to give me this information even after I told him it was for a complaint letter and I needed his full name. I agree with some of the other reviews: this club is often dirty! The floors need to be swept more, the mats in the common area need to be wiped, and the floors in the studio need to be cleaned. The pool is another area that's gross... gum on chairs & railings, items all over... I often don't feel safe. Lots of homeless in the area and they will approach gym members for money. I had an altercation recently, but the staff helped address that. Unfortunately, there isn't more that the staff can do, but they were willing to walk me out to my car when I was finished! My biggest HATE: there's only 1 water fountain in the gym area (there is on in the pool area, but it's not convenient to get to). While it looks like 2 fountains, there's not enough water pressure for 2 people to use them at the same time. I've been in a line of 6 - 7 people just waiting to get water on more than on occasion. Also, wanted a personal trainer, but during my free trial I overheard one guy trainer making fun of some girl working out wrong & made fun of the way she looked... that it made me never want to work with him or any trainer! It's busy and crowded during certain times. It's hard to find bar attachments & I'm constantly needing to ask staff to find me something. However, when I do ask they are quick to get me what I need! This gym has its ups and downs; it's just ok. The earlier you arrive, the better. For now I'm staying here. read more

They only allow a certain number of people into the pool for Water Aerobics. This I understand, but instead of allowing people to sign up as they come in the door and check in, they make a group of people stand around by the doors and wait until a certain time, then they bring out the sign up sheet and everyone has to sign up at the same time and it is not first-come, first-served. It makes absolutely no sense. Also, the pool water is freezing cold and the woman at the front desk (the manager, apparently) says that the heater is broken and so it will either be too hot or freezing cold. I would think that LA Fitness could afford to have someone come out and fix their pool heater. read more

This LA Fitness/Esporta Aqua Fit Pool: The pool is clean but cold. The temperature is 78F when class begins at 9:30. They begin to heat the pool at this time. By the time class is done it is a whopping 80F. Their other pools in Kent, Covington and Federal Way ate at 82F (a single degree of temperature is very noticable in water) when you enter the pool. People who attend this class are typically retirement age and arthritis or other joint issues. The cold tightens up their muscles and joints. As older people are not able regulate their body heat as efficiently. I am aware of people who have quit coming for the class or laps due to the water temperature. The management is dismissive of the request to have water temperatures in the pool raised to 82. read more

This company takes pride in lying to the customer, and saying whatever it takes to make a sale. When I signed up, I asked about the yearly plan when paying in full. I was told I can pay in full for as many months as I wanted, and if I wanted to cancel anytime for any reason, I would get a prorated refund. When I had to cancel due to a family event. They told me no refund and I was screwed for the $1000 dollars I had paid them. This place has a horrible honesty and ethical business model. read more

Where do i start, so today morning person chose not to come in to work, so roughly about 15-20 people where standing outside at 5AM which is what time they are supposed to OPEN, when our monthly fees come out our banks they aren't late why should they?! I now feel I can put together a exercise program to suit my 74 year old body that will actually help me to attain the results I desire. Trying to cancel my membership. They refuse to let me do it at the gym because you can only do it Monday-Friday. Otherwise you have to send a form in the mail. I will never re-join another LA fitness in the future. Update- I called corporate because I was so annoyed. The gentleman on the phone was so nice & helped me cancel right away. This is just an FYI for all. There was a homeless woman who has gym membership. She came with her large suitcase on wheels. Suitcase was not all the zipped up. Items falling out. The woman went into the locker room and started washing her clothing from her suitcase in the sinks. She was holding up all her undergarments for all to see and laughing. She used paper towels to wrap the clothing she washed in the locker room sinks. Then she spread out her wet clothes on the benches. There was no place to sit. I did alert the front desk but, the person working didn't want to hear my concerns. She didn't care at all. I did call later in the day and spoke with management but the manager didn't care either. They didn't want to hear my concerns. They don't care about the safety of there members. This club is so dirty it's never cleaned. It's so gross. The manager has been alerted but nothing has changed. First time using this facility heard it was closer to house only gripe I have there is no 35lb weight plates for the bars which is the most idiotic shit ever and there is no chairs which go into a straight back posistion to do shoulder press wether with squat rack or smith machine and there should be small Olympic bar that is not preacher curl bar for arms skull crushers besides that floors were not dirty and Michael helped to accommodate me so I could achieve my goals in gym read more

Don't believe what they tell you. There is a "special" for $45 a month-- no initiation fee. What they don't tell you is it's an extra $50 bucks for some dumb yearly fee. What a rip off. The clubs are pretty dirty, lots of hair and gross stuff all over the showers. I will say the staff is really nice, but I definitely will be quitting! read more

I use LA fitnesses because they have a gym close to all the places I need, like work, friends house, home. They are normally all clean and have good machines. As does this one. the auburn mall one was my main gym since it's close to home ands now that it's closing I'm forced to make this one my home gym. After a hard work out I went to go sit in the sauna. BUT they don't have one. This is honestly such a make or break thing for me that after 8 years I'm looking at joining other gyms now. I'm absolutely upset that a brand new gym doesn't have a HUGE selling factor that put them above other gyms. read more
