I found Ryan Gallegos a couple years ago and trained with him at Lifetime, he was awesome, then he left. Over the course of the past year I've dealt with a couple health issues. So I now want to get back into shape and reached out to Ryan. I met him at Physiq Fitness where he has been training now for over a year. First, I'm so happy to back with Ryan as he is well educated in fitness and knows what he's doing. I'm also amazed at this wonderful gym!!!! It's big and well equipped with every type of machine or weight. There's also an indoor pickleball court!!!! Membership is extremely reasonable and you can always get on the machines. If you want a gym that provides and EXCELLENT workout, without the hype and expense of Liftime or the humdrum of Planet Fitness, and not jammed like EOS, then this is the gym for you. It has such a family atmosphere that you get one of the cleanest gyms in town, which is not crowded or intimidating for newcomers. I have been around the Phoenix metro Gym scene for the past 30 yrs, but I have to say Physique is very unique in the sense it feels like a very neighborhood gym feel with large gym equipment and setup. I was looking for the nearest pool and they took the time out of their day to find the closest pool and hours! I think every club needs to have a good set of personal trainers! I was able to work briefly with Shad! He didn't have a client at the time and he was able to show me a few shoulder workouts! That is what you call love for the job because most trainers would have been focused on booking you but he just wanted to help me get my shoulder workout done right! I've been a member at Mountainside Fitness in Gilbert for about a year and a half, and…read moreunfortunately my last experience was disappointing enough that I canceled my membership. One morning I was taking my 2-year-old to the Kid Zone when he urgently needed to use the restroom. We were clearly in a rush, but the front desk employee stopped me and insisted I scan a QR code before letting us pass. The interaction felt unnecessarily strict and passive-aggressive. If I didn't have a membership, I wouldn't even be able to use the Kid Zone, so the situation could have been handled with a little more understanding given that I was trying to help my child get to the restroom. What made the experience worse was the tone. It felt like a scene was made in front of my child over something that could have been handled calmly and quickly. For a gym that charges close to $50 a month, I would expect a higher level of customer service and basic courtesy. I spoke with someone at the register afterward and was told the manager would be informed, but it has been over two weeks and I haven't received any follow-up or apology. Between that experience and the already high membership price (especially considering the sauna often smells unpleasant), I decided to cancel my membership. I'm very disappointed and will be going to a different gym moving forward. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this location based on my experience.
