I visited yesterday to give support to my sister who is interested in joining a gym. My sister wanted to visit in person to ask questions, do a tour, and get a feel of the place before she committed. Upon walking in, we were briefly greeted by Briana who appeared to have an attitude as she wasn't friendly. She did not seem to be interested in helping us and eventually did not. My sister told Ms. Briana the purpose of our visit and she insisted that she sign in on an iPad. She did not even specify why we had to sign into the iPad and when my sister asked, Ms. Briana just told her to open up the iPad. So, she fills out the iPad and then another person comes to assist us. Now, this person was a lot better than Briana. Ms. Juanita assisted us, she was very nice, personable, attentive, and patient. Ms. Briana can definitely learn something from her coworker. Ms. Juanita answered all of our questions and was honest with her answers. She gave us a tour of the facility. It's a small gym and appears to have basic amenities. Ms. Juanita gave us the pleasure of testing out the hydromassage and the massage chairs which were very comfortable with easing some tension. I did like the hydromassage as it reminded me of the Hot Springs from NC. We even had the opportunity to meet the manager of the club. The manager was okay but seemed nonchalant. She mentioned that she exercises at a completely different gym that she works at which to me is a red flag to me. The facility itself appears to be clean and well maintained from the first impression, however, I wouldn't choose this gym because it lacks yoga and cycling classes, no sauna, basic amenities, and most of the staff wasn't friendly. My wife signed up for a class at 5:30 pm. For the next day. She showed up 3 minutes late due to rain and traffic. When she arrived she was told to wait in the front that the instructor would come get her. Shortly later. The instructor came over and told her that she would be able to take the class because she was 3 minutes late. She is really suppose to be here 5 minutes early. That information was never conveyed at anytime. She was very mater a fact the Situation Now there is a homeless person sleeping in the Black Card Spa area. Every morning we come in at 5 an and he's sleeping on the couches. When we leave in the evenings he's in there as well. This club seems to just be getting worse. read more

I've been at PF for just over a year now and I'm impressed with this place. Excellent staff, mostly, and always exceptionally clean. Loads of equipment and free weights. Lots of normal people working out without a lot of lunks around. I use the massage chair quite a bit and like that I can get a pre-workout drink or some protein after working out as needed. read more

There's never a broken machine, a dirt tanning bed, a caution wet floor sign, etc.. all the gimmicks are gone and it's a straight forward "let's get into shape & healthy" type of gym. No pressure.. I disagree with the grumpy review someone left. I left 24 hour fitness for this gym and have 0 regrets! Some reasons why: Clean gym. Seriously, everything here is clean, and you can see the employees working really hard to keep it that way. Working equipment. Sounds basic, but if you go to 90% of 24 hour fitness gyms you know that much of their equipment is unreliable and broken. Atmosphere. People here do their own thing and you don't see them monopolizing equipment. Fitness classes. Venessa is one of the trainers and is very knowledgeable. She makes you work hard! Plus, even on busy hours there's still plenty of equipment for your workout. Just keep it up, guys!! Edit: over 3 months after joining the gym and working out here twice a day most days, I still believe the staff is hard working. Equipment still clean and functioning. I had to take off one star because of the trainer. I won't go into details since I've already discussed matters with their manager, but let's hope she works on her people skills! read more

I have been a member for a few months now plus I travel for a living so I've been to maybe 8-9 different ones.... so far with no issues. Until today. First off the Google map info was wrong. Said they closed at 7 and no phone number. That was a bit of an inconvenience because they're the closest to me right now and I've been avoiding this one because of the hours. When I walked in I let them know their hours were incorrect and I was offered excuses. So I go to take a super hot shower. Didn't happen. I got in every shower and the water was ice cold in all of them. The middle one got hot for a few minutes then went cold. Now, the guy offering excuses said they had only been open three days so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt right now but seriously? Cold water?? I'll check back in a week or so and see if there have been improvements and if so I'll change or delete my review. For now..... they are def open 24/7 like the others and check the water before you undress! read more

Me and my husband signed up for memberships at the same time at the gym. If they had told us, one of us could have referred the other we would have saved $50. I immediately asked them why they didn't tell us that and if there was a way to give us credit. The manager basically refused and complained that her boss would give her the run around if she even tried to get it sorted so it was better that we not even try... so in the first 10 minutes of us being members we felt like they don't care about keeping customers happy. read more

Missing a few equipment (at this location at least) I talked to a manager and emailed this location as well. Never got a response about them getting the machines or at least feedback. Also they need to get a few equipment than just one of each. Some of those equipment people are on for 30 min - 1 hour. Like they don't know how to work out or think doing only one machine is all your suppose to do. To make matters worse today I was charged the annual fee they charge all members. On the paper I received with the monthly fees and dates, it stated I wasn't going to get billed the annual fee till July 1st. If anything they should've billed me after not before. Man I'm so mad I want to just cancel my membership. If they don't refund it and charge me at the earliest July 1st. I will do just that!!! read more

I think the gym is very clean and I love the 30 min step intervals they have I left very upset today because EVERY TIME AND REALLY EVERY TIME! people will come in and just use one machine instead following the process and sit on their phones or use the equipment without cleaning it. It is numbered and there is a sign that you have to do the rotation to use the machines. ( same machines) they have on the floor. Well it was time for me to use number 18 and a girl was on the machine with headphones so she couldn't hear my husband tell her that that machines was next on our rotation. She was maybe 18 we are 46 yr old couple ..... instead of her saying I am Sorry or I didn't realize the system in this room she looked right at me w a sneer and says lady just continue now on your workout. So I'm in the wrong because I called you out on not following the rules. Here is the sign it says only in here for rotation. I told the girl at the front desk. I then asked for a manager which she said we don't have one here they are on break. She took my number and said they would call me but no call. It says on the sign. That it is monitored regularly! This is my second encounter with a front desk worker by the name Evelyn... She is preoccupied with her cell phone every time I come to this location ducked in a corner with her phone ... she's very Rush-full not paying attention... very quick to dismiss the guest... can't ask her anything regarding the lotions she says "I DONT KNOW" my friend wanted to tan she told her stand up number 3 and it was taken ok that's fine mistakes happen ... we go out to let her know and she's in a corner on her phone where the tanning lotion is and letting Daniel drown he's checking in ... answering calls... signing up members ... and cleaning beds and she's no where to be found ... I use to work for planet fitness and you don't leave ur co-worker sinking with 5pm after work rush... and to make things worse my friend had to clean her on tanning bed and that's a huge NO NO!!! And tanning was suppose to be for 4 mins she definitely got the time wrong and set the bed for 9mins my friend had to hop out ... this is unacceptable and could get someone burned No time to check grammar trying to now finally workout after being delayed with tanning mess ups and having to write a review read more

Terrible staff!!! A newly hired man randomly walks up to me and my friend and says "HEY YOU GOTTA PAY!!!!!" Even though our account showed 0. We showed him on our phones but just shunned us and made us feel like idiots, not to mention the embarrassment of everyone looking at us. He says that we didn't sign in one day and just walked in, which is true but because we were tired. An employee later called us back and made us sign in. Tried calling to cancel my membership since I'm no longer going to the gym because of COVID and the number is out of service.

After reading the other reviews, I figured I should check it out before just getting up tomorrow and going. Glad I did. There is no way I'd go back to this location. There was a full crowd at the front desk. People standing around talking and other members in front of me that just wanted to check in. Sorry, but if a member can't even just walk up, scan their membership and go workout, there's a problem. Thankfully there is one nearby on El Dorado to go to. This facility was a great place for years but now with me moving to get married and with COVID-19 and them shutting down and asked about cancelling my account the manager said lets suspend your account for 90 days and see if you change your mind and maybe you and your new wife might find another location and want to come back. one week later i was billed for my membership which should not have happened.. then i called the payment and collection number that continued to text me and then started to call me saying i owed for past membership and late fee.. i called to try to clear that up and was told i had to go to the club i signed up with to clear this up. so i drive 40 minutes to the club and was then told by a different manager that she could suspend my account and hold for 90 days, but needed to collect my late fees. i told her no that this should have been cleared up over a month ago and please just cancel my membership and she said she could not unless i pay my membership fee and the late fees.. i asked how did they pull the last membership fee and why do i have late fees. she said that if they have to use the second form of payments they apply the late fees as it dont use it until 10 days later that then automatically adds the late fees. i told her i have not even been in your doors for months and she confirmed yes it has been 271 days and if you want to cancel you will need to pay me or this will continue to build more cost and late fees without being addressed correctly and signed off. i told her that the account department said that all late fees had been waved just 2 days prior and she said we are a franchise and they do not have the right or power to wave these fees. so not only was i lied to the as a thief took 2 months of fees and additions late fees even though i have need stepped thru their doors sense they closed the doors from COVID-19. they have no clue what customer service nor business integrity truly is.!!! read more

So glad this gym opened up in Friendswood! Convenient location, and great & clean facility! Wish they had classes but with such a cheap membership rates, I don't mind. One thing they need to work on is a faster check in process. Sometimes they are understaffed and disorganized in the front so on occasion I've had to wait in line for a few mins just to get scanned in. I love the atmosphere of planet fitness especially the perks of being a black card member. Deducting stars due to the amount of cancelled classes with no notification. I'll show up for class just to be told it's cancelled, with a basic sorry. No way to get an email, text or call apparently. Also, the timing for the classes is very strict. If you are 2 minutes late, and the only one (just my brother and I) signed up for the class, it will be cancelled, as happened to me today. The trainer didn't even bother to tell me the class was cancelled because we were literally 2 minutes late, but had someone from the front desk tell us. The class started at 4:30. We arrived at 4:32 ready to go. The front desk employee told me they HAVE to cancel as there are recording videos showing we are late, even if it's 2 minutes. But no word on the lack of reciprocal etiquette for the trainer- has been 5-10 minutes late for class to start- this leaving me and my group ALONE to finish class as she had to leave early for her other class to start on time; as well as cancelled classes with no notice. Trainer's name is Vanessa. Would be a 5 star review if the classes and training were consistent. read more

Love this gym!!! It is super Clean and does not smell when you walk in. there is enough equipment to enjoy a work out!!! You are not being hurried to get on to the next by some smelly body builder being rude. The price is reasonable (choices) and I have had no problem with drafting my account monthly. If this is how this new location is going to start out. Then this will go down as one of the worst locations to go to. Waited forever to use a tanning bed and finally had to leave because the kid at the desk was still talking to the same two people for the last 20 minutes. The other employee was signing a couple up. This was the second time I tried this location and those same two were there and I waited forever to check in and then when I got a tanning bed, the girl forgot to turn it on. Both times I was there wasn't even the peak hours of the day!!! I won't go back. I'm sticking with the El Darodo location. This one just has left a Terrible impression. read more

I left 24 and came here for a cheaper, clean facility only to be furious. I have gotten charged a day late every time for the past 3 months even though I had money in my acct, and each time I went in the person at the front desk said I still hadn't paid and made me show them my transaction history. it happened again today for the fourth month and once again I show my bank account and they look at me stupid and try to say I owe another type of payment. I said I was going to cancel if they keep charging these late payments when I have the money and they all looked at me stupid and had no solution and then I had to pay another $65 to cancel a membership I never got to enjoy using because they had a crooked payment plan. read more

You can't complain about free. I recently heard about the teen summer challenge and being a fresh out of high school student with a part time job- I hopped on that like flies to crap. Coming from a powerlifting background I heard a lot about how PF is for people that don't care and all they do is cater to people who don't want results. While I did feel a little uncomfortable cause it felt like a lot of descriptions of lunks are just targeting gym rats who may or may not actually be mean and stereotypes, I was happy to give the place a try. I did arms today and found that the machines and dumbells catered well to what I was aiming for in coming back to working out. There was always space for me at the benches and I only had to replace a couple parts of my workout to cater to missing machines. There is a couple requests that I know some PFs cater to and others don't. A lot of my back and leg workouts involve deadlifts, good mornings, RDLs and the like which can SOMETIMES be done rather ineffectually on a Smith machine- I would really like to see a set of barbells for some minor free weight work. I know it's a lot to ask cause some people don't quite understand that you're supposed to control your weight going up AND down, but it would really help for the people looking to go the extra mile. As well, I would have liked to see a glute ham bench since almost all of my workouts consist of that for back or legs. All in all a pretty awesome experience for beginners to lifting as well a good stepping stone for people and teens (especially since it's free for the summer!). If you're looking to max out or deadlift though, I would go looking for a more "gym rat" oriented gym. read more

I have been with planet fitness for over a year. I have been to multiple locations and had a great experience at almost every location. Employees at planet fitness are generally very helpful and willing to help with whatever need (doing their job). EXCEPT this location. This location is very clean and big. But the front desk employees are horrible. Every time I have been to this location the employees are rude, unfriendly and so unprofessional. They are constantly preoccupied with their phones, or talking to each other completely ignoring the customers. If you ask them anything at all they will respond with attitude. I feel obligated to give it a review. A $15 late fee was charged to my account because the bank account number did not go through. The manager fixed the problem and waived 2 monthly fee, which is $20 for me. The gym is very clean and equipments are new. I often see staff clean equipments. It has everything except group activities and lessons. But with only $10 every month it is absolutely a satisfaction to me. read more

This was a nice club. However, I recently moved away in May 2019. Before I moved, I walked into the Webster club on FM 528 to cancel my membership but the gym has continued to charge me (without my permission) and cite that they will not cancel my membership "for real" (apparently the first time wasn't real to them) until I travel back there. It's almost impossible to get a hold of a manager and when I told them I was going to file the complaint and asked for the owners they would not release more than their first names. So since they refuse to cancel over the phone or thru the internet or let me talk to the gym owners (and continue to fraudulently charge me) I've filed a BBB complaint, a consumer affairs complaint, a chamber of commerce complaint and a business complaint with the City of Houston and soon to be with Webster. This is terrible! They should not be able to control taking our money even after we've left. They now have 3 months of payments from me that were not approved. read more
