This is usually a homemade concoction once you buy one of those hand-cranking spiralizers, which I'm guessing had a significant sales bump during the depths of the pandemic. It's rare you can find it sold as a restaurant entree, though I had it once at Emmy's Spaghetti Shack and it was pretty good (review: https://bit.ly/3vR5N13). That's why I gave this virtual business a shot via a DoorDash delivery. I was worried it would be a mushy wet mess by the time it made it to my house. But no, it was expectedly wet but preserved quite well. I ordered the $15.90 Chicken Pesto Zoodle which featured their housemade pesto, cherry tomatoes, and a generous amount of diced chicken (photo: https://bit.ly/3kOMXS0). It worked. Just for contrast, I also went for the $7.90 Fried Cauliflower for the crunch and the spicy dipping sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/38YqqiI). If this place makes the move from virtual to mortar, I'd give it a try. Gee, I hope my spiralizer doesn't collect dust. This restaurant is actually a cloud kitchen inside the Oakland Food Hall (aka Jingletown Eats) in East Oakland. The other day, I ordered Ground Beef Marinara Zoodle thru the Seamless app. The meal arrived promptly and still hot. However, the soft fiber food container was damp and was leaking a little. But the food looked good, as you can see in my photos. Good amount of beef on top of Zucchini spaghetti. How did it taste? The sauce tastes good. I miss the creamy texture of real spaghetti. Also, the sauce is watery. To be gluten free, I think you can still add more cheese and thicker tomato sauce. Maybe the problem is the veggie noodles don't soak up the extra liquid, and you end up with a pool of watery sauce. Ground Beef Marinara Zoodle, $15.90 Anyway, I like the concept, it fits my dietary needs. I will try other dishes.

Today, we were able to book a 10:30AM reservation spur of the moment and Almond & Oak once again did not disappoint. My friend and I ordered two drinks: the Aviator and a Bloody Mary which were both cheers worthy. For our meals my friend had the soft scramble eggs with roasted potatoes and avocado and I ordered the NY steak sandwich. We shared the baked French toast with macerated strawberries. All our brunch items were incredibly yummy. My steak was cooked mid-rear tender and seasoned perfectly. The soft scramble was more on the medium side and would've been perfect if it was "glistening" more. Our server was efficient and checked on us once. I would definitely come back for brunch again!

We first chose to come here because they had Bloody Marys on the menu and we were craving them! The service was friendly all throughout. My friend ordered the eggs benedict and I got the hot honey fried chicken sandwich. I think hot honey is having quite the moment lol but I think I would have preferred the sandwich without it! It was really drippy and sticky with a lot of honey oozing on the plate - I would be much happier to order it crispy and dry without honey if that's an option. My friend enjoyed her eggs benedict. They also had a good beer and wine menu and my friend ordered a sour beer. Overall I had a really nice time here, it's a good vibe, friendly service, good Bloody Mary and good food! Excited to come back and try more dishes and maybe sit on the inside to scope out the indoor vibe lol. Oh patio had some sun creeping in so that was a bit not ideal but overall was totally fine.

Located in the Fruitvale area right next to the BART station, you will need to be mindful of where you park. Since we were here on a Sunday afternoon we were able to utilize the BART lot for free. The interior is bright, simple and open space with several tables. We chose to dine outside under the giant tree covered patio. It's a nice relaxing space, and the owners do a good job of keeping the panhandlers from bothering the diners. The girls running the store on this Sunday were super sweet, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The four of us shared several dishes and all were really quite good. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. Know before you go... Wahpepah's Kitchen specializes in true native American cuisine. The food is simply prepared, fresh and local which means the menu may change depending upon what is available locally as the seasons change. I love that aspect, and their commitment to sourcing fresh local products. Of all the items we ordered, I personally loved the bison frybread and bison tacos (meat eater here), the mushroom and pumpkin seed mole and the Three Sisters veggie bowl were also great.

Nothing special Tater Tots, (3/5): Not very crispy or hot. Tiny ketchup cup. Microwaved? Doesn't seem fresh from a fryer. Chorizo Burrito, (3/5): Big 21-oz burrito for $9.99. We ordered the corn fritter, Trip's Triple, Butter mochi and their pour over coffee. The corn fritters with the strawberry jam were excellent. Who would of thought this combination would work. Those crunchy corn fritters with the strawberry jam made for a very tasty combination. The Trip's Triple of pork, beef and chicken with a side salad, was very tasty and tender. Using slow roasting and not being smoked meats, the natural flavors of the meats came through. Very tasty flavors, each one of them. The side salad was light but worth a kick of jalapeno peppers. So watch out! We finished with the Butter Mochi and pour over coffee for dessert. The mochi with the pineapple was light and took me back to Hawaii. I was told by Patrick, this was the executive chef's grandmother's recipe. Oh, was it really good! You all need to order this dessert as well as their pour over coffee. Smoothest coffee I've had in a long time. Parking can be difficult since it is street parking. Prices can be high depending on which entree you order. My partner ordered the chicken breast that came with a sort gravy on top with a side potato purée. I ordered the filet mignon with potato purée that was loaded with bacon, chives, sour cream and blue cheese. Both of our orders came with a sparse selection of 3-4 stalks of asparagus that had some yellowish color. It didn't have the freshest taste. My filet mignon was rather small in size, not much flavor and the potato puree could be something better when made at home (I.e. nothing outstanding). The calamari and gnocchi appetizers were OK but not more elevated than what we could get at a conventional diner. The presentation was somewhat reminiscent of cafeteria food. We were disappointed though still finished our meal. The atmosphere at CK is lit just right for romance without being too dark, completely clean, relaxed yet unsurprisingly quite empty for a Saturday night. The value of the meal was not reflective of the high rating that attracted us to CK in the first place. We likely will pay what we did for a better overall dinner experience elsewhere and consider trying out CK for brunch.
