Tomato soup and the Zeus pizza made for a lovely dinner! Service was good and the food was delicious

NASTY thai pizza!!!!
Sarai G.

Cool vibe spot in downtown. Our party of 4 was sat down quickly. Our food came out quick as well. HOWEVER, the server was awful. Wish i would have gotten her name. We ordered 3 pizzas. The thai pizza was the nastiest pizza I have had. EXTREMELY salty. Back to the server. She brought out the Kids pizza & the pizza slipped to the table. She grabbed a napkin that we had already used to wipe down the table & used that to grab the pizza with her bare hands & placed it back. She did say "Lets save this" Im sorry but what kind of service is this! She didn't apologized or offered to bring a new pizza. Should have not left any tip but still did.

Everything was good. Service was good and ambiance was welcoming. Their Thai pizza was very spicy with quite a lot of Sriracha, be aware.

French onion soup

The interior is decorated with faux fire and a modern flare. We dined with 4 adults and 2 kids and we shared 3 pizzas. The adults also had a couple of small salads and a soup. I would have preferred that they brought the appetizers out first and then served the pizzas later but everything came out at once. It was pretty dead in the restaurant so there wasn't a reason not to stagger the dishes. The french onion soup was cheesy but I wasn't impressed with the base flavor of the soup. The small Como and Amalfi salads were fresh and a nice size. The Code Red, Jiminy Crimini and Plant Power pizzas were flavorful and pretty tasty. All in all good food and a nice dining experience.

He does that for all the guests, we realized as the night went on. The red wine we had, can't remember the name, was excellent. We paired it with a wonderful olive and hummus dish. It came with some yummy rosemary crackers for the hummus. The vibe and ambiance were wonderful. Even the music selection, mostly instrumental, was perfect. It was such a great evening for us at Lola's. We'll be back for certain.

We stayed at the resort and noticed Lola was only a short walk down the road, so we figured we'd check it out, and I am SO glad we did. Immediately from walking in, we felt incredibly welcomed by the owner, Anna, who seriously made us feel like we were old friends. She sat with us and walked us through her wine list, which was excellent and had tons of variety for every kind of drinker. I'm usually a light white wine fan, while my boyfriend tends to enjoy reds, and Anna even had a recommendation for a very light and refreshing red varietal that was somewhere in the middle for us both. As for the ambience, I seriously don't think this place could be any cuter. The charcuterie board was also 12/10 with each element being very high quality, fresh, and flavorful, not to mention affordable, too! We ended up chatting with regulars and Anna for several hours as we were having the BEST time. I wish we could bring this place back to SD with us that's how much we loved it! We will absolutely be back here next time we are in CDA, but go give this place all of your love & support in the mean time!! :)

The service we received was excellent, the bartender was super friendly and went above and beyond, happily providing tasters and talking us through the different tap options since there was so much to choose from. It makes a huge difference when the staff is that welcoming and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the CDA area! Now, expect things to be a little untraditional like the "burger" was really more like a veggie patty on a nut loaf with veggies and gravy. Very nice new interior, the owner was walking around and talking to everyone, good service. My husband and I came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon after searching high & low for a restaurant that serves organic produce and healthy options. He has an auto-immune condition, and the menu is great for individuals looking for a place to support an anti-inflammatory diet. This is not a place for those who consider themselves big carnivores, but it is good for those who are vegetarian or vegan. Expanding their selection could make it more palatable for all, but for now I think the clientele who will embrace and enjoy the food here is limited. It might have been a bad day in the kitchen, but our food was so salty it was not edible. The food looked fantastic, colorful and full of vegetables - but it didn't taste good. We would go back because the menu is promising, but I would lean toward ordering moderate / minimal seasoning. We took the food to go, and it was much better once we mixed it with eggs and other veggies to dilute the amount of salt. I wish they would incorporate meat into the menu, such as organic free-range beef or chicken- but, that's less of a complaint and more feedback to the restaurant on how they may be able to broaden their audience. I don't recommend Plant Gossip for large groups or gatherings with varying tastes, it is not one of those places where everyone can find something they like on the menu. Other than our very salty meal, service was very friendly and relatively quick. The location is very walkable from DT CDA and the place has a nice vibe. If you're looking for healthy, plant-based options - this is the spot!

I had a birthday party to attend. Well two actually; a friend and my wife's, happy coincidences and…read moreall. Both being held at the same spot, 4:45p on a sunny Thursday. This is the story, it is not really about wine.. I crested the drive up to Stellas on the hill, truck's RPM held at 3000, four vehicles pass on the left exiting (3 full of ladies with short cropped white hair and the 4th a black Maserati entitled to the center section of the narrow twisting mountain road), edging my wheelbase close to the drop off on the right side. I arrive to Stella's on the hill to a 3/4 full parking lot. And (angel's singing) a prime spot opens up to my right, 3 more silver pumas leaving in a Lincoln Navigator. I pull in as they exit. An attendant comes up to my window informing me "we are at capacity", but 5 cars just left in the last minute I question, "yeah we are not letting people in" he replies. I explain the significance of both birthdays; "yeah that sucks for you man.." That's (shitty errhmm cough cough) fair, I think to myself, a business does have a right to refuse service. I text my spouse, and tell her I will have to abscond from the parties. "Dude it's hot and I had the worst wrap ever. Super nice view but you really aren't missing anything. If it wasn't for Dr Phil and the Enablers (the band), I would have already left." She tells me, and informs my retreating vehicle that I should grab a couple tables at Wine House. A short drive later, I park in the lot for Jimmy's down the street, the sign says I will be towed but 'Jimmy wouldn't do that' I mouth to myself. Wine house was 70% full with a private event being held in the interior space, NOT AGAIN I think. But the owner, sensing my confusion, politely ushered me out to a partially shaded double table in the front. My wife and 7 friends arrived minutes later. We had wine and ate little cheeses. The server even offered to replace my $15 Graham Beck South African bubbles with a $5 brown bag beer free of charge. Thinking, incorrectly, that I had wanted the bargain mystery beer, and not a light effervescence of brut wine dancing in my mouth, as I sat in the sun. We watching other parties on dates, 30-somethings having 'girl dinner', maybe an interview dinner for a nanny (?); it was a very fine evening. The wine was good. The owner of Wine House was attentive and visited the table twice, which was a nice touch. The crowd was good, sociable and attractive. Also they let me sit, while Stellas' didn't even let me park after 5 cars left. And Jimmy didn't tow me.

She gave me a menu then momentarily disappeared to get me a room temperature water (delightful) and then we discussed the menu. I then ordered with her suggestions and waited. Not too very long thereafter, my lunch arrived - a lovely surprising portion, colorful, well presented and exactly as I was hoping for. The parmesan halibut addition to my seasonal salad (which BTW is not current on their website but my variation was DELISH) was tasteful and moist. The kale based salad was dressed in a cranberry vinaigrette, but I'd asked for a side of Bleu Cheese as well (my weakness, especially if it's a delightful house made version as this was). I only ate half & took the rest home, as it was large enough for two meals - and @ a price point which was reasonable for this day & age!
