The meats skew toward southern staples like fried chicken fingers and bourbon chicken (which has a sweet 'n sour chicken vibe). Vegetables are a mix of southern (think buttered corn and fried okra) and Chinese options like lo mein noodles or fried rice. The mac ' cheese is notably good. The ambiance is a good court but the price of a meat and two side selection was with in my price range. I had the honey chicken which was breaded chicken bites. Love this place! I was recently introduced to it and I've had it three times since. The rice is great. Very fresh. Customer service is great. And the portions is worth the money. So, I door dashed this food, trying it for the first time, looking for some good southern food .... And this is NOT it! The food is disgusting! No seasoning whatsoever. Collard greens taste like steamed mush. Black eyed peas are just plain and slimy. No seasoning in the chicken. Chicken fingers taste like they've been frozen. Mac and cheese is watery. Carrot cake frosting is gross. The charbroiled chicken is actually pretty good as is the bbq sauce. But that's it. Corn Brad muffin is alright but dry. Farmer's Basket is a chain restaurant, it is located in the Peachtree Center Mall directly across from Chick-fil-a. It has become my new alternative for lunch. I get the sauteed chicken, which is chicken that is breaded and fried, and covered in a sweet sauce. Give it a taste, it's good! I generally go with the mac-and-cheese (nothing special) and corn for my sides, and grab a cornbread. Interestingly, everyone that comes here seems to have a different favorite. While I like the sauteed chicken, the others around me ordered meatloaf (really?), bourbon chicken, and fried chicken. They also had good southern sides, including mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes (sweet? can't remember), collard greens, fried okra, etc. Makes you feel like you just stepped into a home-cooked meal at someone's mother's place. Service has always been great. They are quick and they look you in the eye when they speak to you. They're always very friendly. The prices are a little high, but I'm okay with that since the quality is actually fairly good. The food always seems fresh and doesn't have that sitting-under-a-warmer-for-3-hours taste. Eating here makes you feel like you brought in really yummy leftovers from home. It doesn't taste like fast food, and you won't be fleeing to the restroom later in the day. I went there thinking southern food, since that is what it's advertised as. Upon arrival, I was a little bit confused. It reminded me of an Asian food court place more than southern. A lot of chicken choices. Upon looking a little closer, there were also some shrimp and fish choices. The sides we more on the southern side than Asian though. I cannot stress how good this food is. Alright, alright, alright. Yes. It is in a food court. Yes. It is Southern comfort food made my people who are clearly not from the South. But does it matter if the food is freaking amazing?! No. All of the food is displayed so you can see what you want to eat. But let me tell you, even though the food is on a hot line... everything I have ever ordered has been fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. I've had the roasted chicken, meatloaf, mac & cheese, roasted potatoes, sweet corn, and their cornbread. All of which is very good. A lot of the plates include a choice of meat and two sides. I usually order cornbread for an extra 65 cents. And a regular sweet tea. All ended up being $9.58. Which is pretty good for the amount they give you. Try this place out! Had a second lunch with barbecue chicken and sweet potatoes. The total cost was $6.12. Again, the food was excellent. The sweet potatoes were delicious. This is one of the restaurants in Peachtree Center Mall (code word - food court). If you just need a meal, this is your place. Nothing extremely spectacular about them save for the HUGE size of their chicekn fingers. But, that is really just breading. They have southern veggies. Everytime I come to atlanta my girlfriend and I make sure to stop here. They have the best chicken in my opinion at a very resonable price. The serving size is so large we always have to share a plate which still leaves us both full. The only complaint I have is there isn't a New Orleans location. read more

The customer service is fast but hard to make an opinion other than that since itneraction with them is very fast. I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken with lo mein. When I got back to work and opened my container ready to dig in, I noticed that my chicken was greatly discolored. I could see the discoloring through the fried breading. I was immediately turned off. I cut into the chicken just to make sure and on the inside it was a black and dark grey color...almost as if the chicken had mold. I have never seen chicken look like this in all my days. I sifted through the rest of the pieces on the plate and they were all discolored as well. Every single piece! The breading wasn't even sticking to the chicken and you could tell it wasn't because of the sauce. I absolutely hate to say this but I don't believe that was chicken. The sauce was not even heavy enough to make the breading not stick. The wetness of the chicken had an obviously different consistency than it would if that were the sauce. I am completely grossed out and all the way turned off. Im not even being biased because it's "Chinese food" because I have eaten Chinese food all the time and h! Sadly enough the food looked so gross I couldn't even stomach the smell of it anymore and had to thrown the whole $10 plate away. Im a student so $10 is for sure a lot for me to waste! I called them to get a refund and to even walk all the way back just to take them my plate so they could see I was not making this up...no answer. Several times.
