    Vegan nachos

I first discovered this spot after looking for a vegan restaurant while in the area one day. I ordered the Queso-Loaded Nachos w/Drunken Beans and they were hands down the best vegan nachos I've ever had. I could not stop thinking about them. On my birthday I drove 45 minutes from LA to order them again and they were just as delicious the second time. I will definitely be back!

Thanks to my Vegan SoCal group for the recommendation!! After a fun day as a vendor with my daughter, Rachel, in Long Beach, in my Vegan SoCal group recommended PlanTitas, among others. YAAASSSSSS We were STARVED and even my Omni daughter loved everything!! Women owned, family business that is top notch Vegan Mexican food!! We started with Elote Fried Corn Ribs. That sauce!! I ordered the Taco Plate with Al Pastor & Jackfruit Carnitas, and side order of an Asada Taco. Rachel ordered the Flauta Plate. Chef Aileen came to our table to check on us, after her niece (our server) let her know we came because of a FB group recommended. She was ... where are your chips? We make them fresh to order... so we added chips & guac. OMG Then she came back later, checking in again, we were so happy, and how I was wanting the Aguachile next time. She says, wait, I have extra from another order, you can try. Light, fresh, spicy, similar to ceviche, yet more complex flavor. Dang. Yeah, gotta come with Jennifer!

I am a ten year vegetarian and when I tell you that this is the best plant based Mexican food I've ever had I mean it. It was me and my friend's first time here, but it wasn't very long until we felt at home as the staff was super nice and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very homey. The waitress let us know how the food is rooted in their grandma's home recipes and we soon found out that abuela was not messing around. We started out with the elote ribs, the corn is so sweet yet savory with all the added spices. Then came the main course, carnitas tacos, beans and rice for me, while my friends got the burrito and the loaded fries. I've eaten a lot of meat substitutes over my tenure being vegetarian, but this is the most realistic tasting carnitas I've ever had. I had 15 years of meat eating experience beforehand, so my judgement is fair. Also I must give a special shoutout to the side of beans that came with my taco plate. They were AMAZING. The little meat crumbles mixed in were delicious. My mouth is literally watering while writing this part of the review. My friends enjoyed their dinner as well and unfortunately because of that there was absolutely no room for dessert. I was able to snag a couple bites of the burrito and it was just as tasty as my tacos. The guacamole on the loaded fries was top tier too. Do y'all see that color???? My experience at Plantita's was amazing and I will definitely be back. I recommend this as a vegan place to bring meat eaters to. The food is that good that it can satisfy both meat eaters and plant based people.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty empty when we got there. We ordered the loaded fries with mushrooms, taco plate with asada and mushrooms, elote, an asada burrito, and chips and guac. Since it was slow, we did have to call the server from the back a few times. Once more people started coming in, she became much more attentive. Food-wise, the only real complaint was the lack of seasoning in the guac. I had to add salt to pretty much everything except the burrito. That said, the asada was seasoned really well with a nice crisp to it -- very delicious. I'd honestly get the asada on everything. The staff mentioned it's made in-house, and you can tell. It's a small restaurant, but overall solid, especially if you're an asada fan.

This was my first time trying PlanTita's so I ordered four tacos & a burrito to go... that way I could try one of each protein. Asada and Al Pastor were by far my favorites so those are the two proteins I'd get if I go again. My boyfriend got the burrito which was delicious too, but mainly rice and beans. Yay for a vegan Mexican options with a variety of protein choices. I really wanted to try their horchata but they were freshly out & I didn't have time to wait for the new batch. Parking was extremely limited but maybe there's parking in the neighborhood. All staff were kind and positive. Plenty of indoor seating available. I like that you could see into the kitchen!

    Taco Plate Mushroom and Shrimp

I visited PlanTita's Kitchen today for a small to-go lunch and I absolutely loved everything about it. The food was AMAZING. I had two tacos, one shrimp and one mushroom with the side of rice and beans and I also had horchata. Everything was so good, I think the mushrooms packed a little more of a punch because of the chipotle sauce, but the shrimp was refreshing. I was so excited as well for my very first vegan Mexican meal AND dairy-free horchata. I'm very lactose intolerant so everything here was safe for my stomach. The staff is also super nice and attentive. The inside is really cute! Definitely plan to come back here.

I have been meaning to try this place for some time since it's so close by to where i live. I can honestly say that exploring Vegan restaurants has been an eye opening experience. There are so many different ways to be creative with flavors and the best part of it is how beneficial it can be when impacting your health! The flavors were great, server was attentive as well! I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu! I came by for a quick lunch with my boyfriend and had the best time. He has missed eating seafood and to have something similar to aguachiles that didn't impact his health was perfect! The ambiance felt very cozy and i love the decor! Give this place a try if you ever come across it!

Plate licking delicious! I ordered the enmoladas and I couldn't tell it wasn't meat. I was a little skeptical on portion size but I was so so wrong- three is plenty enough. Decor is cute and it's clear that the owner has a lot of pride in their culture.

As PlanTita as it gets! This extra delish treasure-like restaurante in the city of Long Beach, off Willow Street is crazy amazing. It's savory with a hint of sweet (Churros on their dessert menu). It's all dine inside, but they clearly do great takeout and delivery as we noted a handful of orders being picked up as well as more people coming in to feast. I knew of P.K. since they opened their doors in 2023, but rarely get to the LBC, except for more recently on trips down, usually with my dinner date. We glanced at their menu online, but got the hard copy of all their offerings including tacos, burritos, plates, starters, plus todo los bebidas on the back of the menu. Beverages on beverages! Beer, Cocktails, Horchata, Soda and my personal favorite, Wine!! When I saw the bottles on display on their gorgeous counter top and beautiful decor #AllAreWelcome I knew this place was gonna be an instant favorite. But let me tell you the food was 12/10, my flauta plate which was going to be the enmoladas (will have them next time), was so rich, cheesy and decadent. Like what magic sauce blended with jackfruit carnitas did I just enjoy? Asking for a friend Novio has their awesome Asada Burrito and we shared a little with each other. 11/10, it was big, beautiful and not heavy. Their chipotle mayo and house made salsa really elevated his meal. Our server was fun, thoughtful and attentive. She had great tips and recommends including on my flauta plate mix up being the best/one of her personal favorites. We definitely noted a few things for our next trip including the elote fried ribs as well as the queso loaded fries (or nachos, or both). Parking is limited in a very very tiny lot, but there's street parking close by off Hayes Ave/Willow St, not to mention on Willow and neighboring blocks Plantita has great decor. Love the flowers, plants on tables, Frida pics, pride flag, Ofrenda like shelving and fun stuff on display. Restroom is easy, super clean and for all. Music was very upbeat, millennial core on a weekend night, yes please! Though it did feel a little elevated for such a great place that has more of a mellow mood, but no complaints. The staff is so thoughtful. The chef's know what their doing and do it super well. We didn't want to overdue it on our first time in (because their will be a 2nd and 3rd), but hoping to try a lot more soon. Make PlanTita Kitchen your next meal :) Será surrealista!

It's hard to make VEGAN tacos taste remotely delicious and this place knows how to do it. I really thoroughly enjoyed my tacos. I ordered the Al pastor, asada and carnitas. The flavors were great. I wish I would have thought about getting guacamole on them, but now I know for next time. The salsa was magnificent. Service was friendly. I appreciated the recommendations. Quant place, high ceilings make it feel more spacious. I'll definitely be back.

Omgg our meal was so wonderful!! The owners are so lovely and were very gracious and accommodating with helping me find a meal that was gluten free and celiac safe. I had the Taco Plate with mushroom tacos and they prepared it in a separate pan for me. It was delicious and most importantly I felt amazing after eating it. My whole group loved their meals, the food is so incredibly flavorful and well made. The perfect balance of tastes. We love that the whole place is Vegan!! And bonus points for the 10/10 bathroom decor. Can't wait to come back again!

    Elote Fried "Ribs"

Came here three times now and had varying experiences that were overall positive. The first time, we were nearly the only guests dining for a long while with maybe another party coming in near the end of our meal. Our second time here, the place was packed! Service was slower on our second visit which was understandable considering how busy they were. But staff was apologetic for the wait, always friendly, and in good spirits. Service was speedy-quick on my last visit. What really convinced me to give PlanTita's Kitchen 5-stars was a thoughtful interaction with our waitress. She approached our table and noticed I was experiencing a sensitive moment in mid-conversation. She offered to give us a minute, then quietly placed a napkin near me for my tears. How sweet! :) The food here is excellent! Great presentation too! Elote Fried "Ribs" are a must-have! It's sprinkled with spicy seasoning with a chipotle mayo drizzled on top. OMG so good! https://bit.ly/3SqDUYk Aguachile is also good. This mix of diced vegan shrimp, cucumber, onions, and pineapple marinating in juices is light and refreshing. I enjoyed the hot-out-of-the-fryer tostadas too. https://yelp.to/YzUpjY5qJe I've never had anything like the Enmolada Plate before, and I'm glad to report, I liked it! These potato and cheese enchiladas are smothered with red mole sauce. It comes with a side of rice and beans. https://bit.ly/3SUHiuy Meateater Hubby ordered a burrito though I forget what protein he had. Most likely the Al Pastor. I thought it was solid. I luv me a good vegan burrito. https://bit.ly/4kgMiFZ The Taco Plate which also comes with rice and beans. Per the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered an Asada taco and WOW, SO GOOD! I also had the Mushroom Al Ajillo taco. Yum! https://bit.ly/3FDo09U The Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu is totally worth getting here before they stop serving brunch at 3pm. It's a mountain of beans, JustEgg, avocado, and chipotle mayo on an English muffin. Yes please! https://bit.ly/3Zyz52U Even a simple side of Tater Tots were addicting. Crunchy outer texture, fluffy tender interior, and seasoned with salt and pepper. Lastly, they make a tasty Horchata! https://yelp.to/QuTuibKiwG Love the vibe here. Yellow/orange painted walls, flowers for the decor, and a decent-sized dining room. The parking lot is small, but street parking in the residential area is easy. Great vegan spot in West Long Beach!

Although we are not vegan or vegetarian, we enjoy supporting local spots around Long Beach. This place had been all the hype so we had to drop by. Got the asada & al pastor tacos, mushroom burrito, fresh chips and guacamole. It was Highly recommend Plantita's!

The taco itself wasn't very flavorful but I think it's perfectly fine because the sauce carries more than enough. I also ordered the vegan fried chicken and I was so intrigued by the flavor. They had a notable buttery taste to them which was rich and pleasant. I believe they were coated with a cornflake cereal which gave them a proper crunch. The hibiscus drink was a tad thicker than I expected and wished it had a more balanced flavor ( sweetness : tartness ), but it wasn't a bad drink by any means. Definitely one to drink cold. Anyways we got there right at open so we were the first ones in an empty restaurant. It still took an HOUR to get our food. One hour for the first and only order in the building. A few others came in a couple minutes behind us and they were still sitting there past the hour and half mark. There's slow and then there's this where slow loses its definition. Food was good but when you've been starving for a long time anything would taste good so take that for what its worth. Prices aren't cheap either, 14-16$ a dish, which is proper sit down restaurant money not a person running the truck type business place. I don't really blame the guy. He's the cook and the server and the cleanup all at once and you can tell he's putting effort into the food. But one person can't run a restaurant on his own and I'm not going back to wait another time to prove it.

If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

They had sports playing on the TVs and the interior is pretty small. It's more of a casual vibe good for a chill night out. It kinda feels like a place where you order at the front and get takeout, but they have someone who will wait on your table if you choose to dine in. I came with a vegetarian friend and we had a fun time sampling the different taco meats and rating each. Here is my ranking: 1. Asada - I hate to be basic, but this was good for what it was. It tasted like they might have used mushroom meat, but this takes place as #1 for me because I think it could be a general crowd pleaser for any non-vegetarian. On the contrary, my vegetarian friend did not like it because she found it too dry. 2. Barbacoa - A very, very close second. The only reason it places behind asada is because asada is a classic. Barbacoa has good texture and I could eat a lot of these too. 3. Chorizo - This was the closest to tasting like its actual counterpart. I could eat a bunch of chorizo. Crumbly meat with lots of flavor. 4. Tinga - I'm not as familiar with tinga meat, but the pickled red onion that went with this taco gave it a savory taste. Good to try out but you're not missing out if you choose other flavors. 5. Chicken - Tasted like tofu meat? Not bad - I don't usually pick chicken for taco meat so this might be a personal preference choice. 6. Pastor - Sweet, but did not taste like pastor. Had a little trouble distinguishing between the pastor and the tinga at first, but came to the conclusion the pastor was the one with pineapple on it. I mostly prefer savory meats and while I don't mind the pineapple, the pastor I usually have is not sweet itself. If you like sweet meats, this might be worth getting. 7. Potato - Everybody can skip the potato. It's a fried potato taco, but the potato they use resembles a breakfast hash. The crispiness is nice, but the texture is flaky and the sauce doesn't save it. Even my vegetarian friend was let down by this one even though she had high hopes and usually likes potato tacos. Overall the server told us most of the taco meats were soybean based (not the pastor). I think the chorizo might be falafel, but that's a guess? Ended our meal with the Tres Leches as a dessert. Frosting is buttery and sweet (maybe a little too much frosting) but the cake goes super well with the milk. It sits in a soy milk bath which is a first for me. I wish they had added more soy milk! The menu is huge though. I was very tempted to try other stuff on the menu so I am very open to coming back and trying the breakfast platter (or getting more tacos again, yum).

I ordered ahead as I was in a bit of a rush and thankfully they were very quick at preparing my food! They also didn't compromise on the quality in doing so! I managed to find a spot on the adjacent side street and was greeted as soon as I entered. The ambiance of the restaurant was bright and colorful with plenty of cozy seating both inside and outside. They also had a pastry case filled with some drool worthy cakes. The friendly employee quickly found my order. The menu was vast but I ordered an indulgent chocolate crepe, as I was craving something sweet and light. The crepe had a lovely pillowy texture and was so heavenly, both the chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse were so rich and decadent and had me wanting more! I loved the freshness, sweetness and juiciness of the berries! The coconut whipped cream really took it over the top and added a nice airiness. Their crepes are must haves and I'm dying to try more of them! I will definitely be back soon to this location or one of their other conveniently located ones!

Just as good as last time. Again, the cheese on the pizza wasn't weird like vegan cheeses usually are for me. I placed the order on phone and went to pick up for a faster service. The price of their pizzas are great as well. Surprisingly, not all their pizzas are vegan, so might want to be careful with that.

I wasn't really into the pizza we got that day, but enjoyed dining outside at the little cafe table with my hubby. So after the new, much bigger location opened, we thought we'd give it another try. Sadly, I liked it even less this time. There was some kind of mayonnaise like substance on the crust that really turned me off. I let my hubby finish the pie himself. TBH, I guess I'm just not a fan of big fat crusts like these. Just wasn't my thing. The dough to sauce/topping ratio is too off for my taste. Additionally, I am super confused about whether this is a vegan business or not. I thought with this name they would have only vegan items, but that doesn't seem to be true. I'd hate to accidentally eat something with animal products thinking it was vegan.
