I suppose if you have a specific restaurant you want to go to, it's ok. Been wanting to go here for awhile and was very underwhelmed. The boutiques were way overpriced and nothing special, there were no 'pop ups' on a Saturday.? No energy or vibe at all here. They need a store like Burro, a bookstore, more 'made in l.a.' stores, something like a Fred Segal, etc. The little park area is really pretty. Parking not easy and $$. read more

I agree with Bryan W.'s assessment. The Platform had a surprising amount of contemporary, high end stores and some stores that offered quality duds but for reasonable prices. It's very millennial and very yuppie. I loved it! Oh and it turned me on to my latest obsession, Tom Dixon. Wow, what an impressive designer. The stores here focus on purveying uncommon goods which is highly appealing. The store fronts had fascinating displays, original furniture pieces and clothing, and the sidewalk vendors were equally as impressive as the "housed" store fronts. For instance, I loved the Ryze stand. Their handmade leather goods were edgy yet simple. I've never seen a piece like those. Also, not everything was outrageously priced! The mens/womens clothing store across from the handsoap place, had gorgeous menswear and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the fabrics. I was extremely impressed! That being said, there are definitely places on par with Rodeo pricing if you want to seek it out. This center overall has a very modern aesthetic. It's definitely got an urban vibe going but they took a towards "eco-friendliness" with their drought tolerant cacti landscaping. I was a little shocked at that because with the amount of kids running through there, I was certain a munchkin was going to end up covered in needles, so yah, look out and try not to bump anyone into the cactus's running down the center of the walkways! Because the place does get packed! it's not a huge selection of shops but it's definitely an great addition to Culver City and does a fine job incorporating the outdoor SoCal experience to the world of shopping. Being a huge fan of HD Buttercup over at the Helm's Bakery Center, it's nice to know there's other quality shops to peruse when in that neighborhood. Least I forget the awesome selection of restaurants: Cannibal and Sweetgreen just to name some I personally love. Definitely hit up Cannibal's happy hour... Legit. read more

Super small outdoor plaza. I would not even call it a shopping center because it literally has like less than 10 shops inside the plaza. Most of the shops are on the higher end side so I would not buy stuff from there. Most of the shops have no customers either besides Boba Guys and other cafe. I don't know, I mean I would not drive all the way for this but I guess it is nice to walk around if you live nearby. read more

Newish shopping plaza in Culver City. Parking is $2 after 1 hour and it goes up $1 per hour after that I believe. Some shops do validate so make sure to get it. Pretty small shopping center with boutique and hipster shops. The busiest store here are probably Sweetgreens and Boba Guys. Rest of them are expensive clothing and furniture stores or about to open restaurants. Its chill I guess. read more

WOW. Can't believe this place exists in our neighborhood. All of the construction pretty much seems to be done, the stores are filled, and the place is absolutely beyond well done and charming. Feel like we could be in Aspen, not in Culver City! And right now they have this epic Halloween extravaganza with pumpkins and petting zoos and all sorts of other craziness. Not very big but a nice atmosphere. Everything there is pricey. It's a good spot to go to for ice cream or coffee.

This is a random review, but I'm compelled to write it based on just how ridiculous this place is. This is - at its essence, a shopping center that nobody asked for. Fully-stocked stores but no customers. Manicured and curated succulents and landscaping but no birds or any sign of natural life. Businesses that vie to be unique but have no soul. And that's the weirdest thing about this shopping center. It has no soul. Shopping centers usually don't need to have substance; except Platform tries so hard to make you feel like you're in a unique place bustling with innovation and current trends. It's like a Las Vegas-esque version of how they would imagine recreating the cool atmosphere of LA neighborhoods, combining the worst (but what they think is the best) of Abbot Kinney and the Arts District into an all-in-one shopping center, but takes the fun out of what makes those other areas still somewhat appealing (side-note: those areas too, are on their way out). Is there anything special here? No. There is a gallery dedicated to 'sneakers' that literally encases random shoes from 2005 that will leave you scratching your head (or rolling your eyes). There's also a mandatory 'shipping container' pop-up kiosk hawking colored bikes and other stereotypical things that look nice but you'd never buy. Which summarizes 'Platform' quite well; aside from a coffee or salad (assuming you work at an equally un-interesting start-up in the vicinity), there is nothing you'd realistically buy here. You can feel the anxiety of all of the store employees who know that you, just like everyone else, are just in the store to look with a slightly perplexed lack of sufficient interest in an occasional item, but would never buy. The sad thing is that it's all done tastefully and is one of the nicer looking developments I've seen in LA in recent memory (note: the bar has been set so low as of late so there's also that to take into consideration). And it's not necessarily a bad addition to Culver City. But I think Platform is the kind of place that misses the mark and exemplifies how cities and neighborhoods lose their character when they try and be too cool and current but lack substance or 'soul' to back it up... read more

I had been waiting for Platform to open its doors since I first heard of this concept one year ago and I was not disappointed. This shopping development in Culver City created by David Fishbein and Joseph "Joey" Miller is home to many high end brands and unique stores and is definitely worth a visit. It is conveniently located near the freeway and there is a huge parking lot available (the first 2 hours are free!). We visited several stores and loved the decor and the architecture. The only reason why this review does not have 5 stars is because we felt it was still a project in the making and some things could be improved (most urgent, put some store directories in the parking garage and on the street!). Very cute little plaza of shops but most things don't open till 11 and most shops don't validate.

After parking here I am very much reminded of Dante's inferno and it's likeness to the platform parking structure. Beware the parking structure! Do not park here. Uber, Lyft or hike, heck you should even bird scoot your tush here but do not park here unless you want to be abused by the parking attendant who has a shitty attitude because you interrupted their YouTube video watching. The complete lack of organization coupled with the draconian attitudes of the attendants lends one to have a not so pleasant time here. Dare I type it but I have had a much more pleasant time parking at the Grove on Black Friday than I have at this parking structure. read more

Similar to the Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo or The Source in Buena Park. It's a hipster area with a large parking structure that has food and clothing shops around. Parking isn't too bad with the first hour being $2 and the next few hours adding a dollar or two more. read more

I love pretty much everything in here; the SoulCycle, SweetGreen, Loqui, Ten over Ten, Hayden, Aesop, Blue Bottle, Velvet, Poketo, the Cannibal...etc. The shops here are great HOWEVER the PARKING is the WORST!! The parking machines frequently breakdown, the lot is not big enough, there is only one lane---careful around those corners, I see a near fender bender every time I use the structure. Getting in and out of the lot is a total cluster%$#! I have been waiting so long in a line to get out (10 minutes) once that I went over my validation and had to pay. SoulCycle classes have started late because the instructor and half of the class were stuck in the parking structure If I weren't such a soulcycle addict I would just not come here. I have opted to take Lyft rather than park, that is how bad it is. I HATE the parking. read more

Let me just say it straight and you can stop reading or not. I hate this place. Why you ask? The first time I came here, about six months ago my family and I were trying to try some supposedly "great" pizza place called Roberta's. First thing I noticed was there were insane crowds as I was trying to get into the parking structure. Now I'm an L.A. native but this was nuts crowded. It wasn't a Dodgers game. It wasn't a Madonna concert. It was a mall. It took us five go arounds the very cramped claustrophobic parking structure to finally find a spot. Once inside, the mall walking was extremely cramped. I noticed racks of not spectacular clothing everywhere, people with tons of dogs and just more crowds. We waited 45 minutes to eat at Roberta's. The pizza was overpriced, came very late and they got our order wrong. We left, breathed and I forgot about the Platform. Today- we wanted to try Loqui. We drove and then came upon the Platform following GPS. OH CRAP. As we drove up, again racks of clothing and crowds everywhere. This time I remembered how insane it was before so we skipped the parking and left. This place is so unpleasant I will probably never come back. Am I missing something? Why is this place so crowded? Do you have to be between age 20-30 and an idiot to come here? Please enlighten me. read more

This place SCREAMS Millennial/Hipster. The stores are geared towards this generation. I am a Gen Xer, and this place does very little for me except I enjoy Sweetgreens and Soul Cycle. Based on Michelle L's scathing review towards children playing here, and the lack of anything for a child to do, this is not a good family shopping area like The Point is. The retail shops hold no interest for me. The reason I am giving Platform 3 stars is because parking is easy, Sweetgreens is quick and tasty, it's cute enough, and Soul Cycle is fun. I am in a very different stage of life than most of the patrons of Platform. I respectfully disagree with Bryan W.'s comparison to Abbott Kinney. I really enjoy Abbott Kinney. I think the vibe there is so much better. If you want a fun day out, head to Abbot Kinney over this place. read more

Everything from the parking to the selection of stores has always been a bit of a disappointment. Not all stores validate and you can't even pay for parking in advance. So if you're trying to make your validation time, you'll be so backed up in the garage that you'll probably end up paying. If you can walk here, you'll probably enjoy it more. Came here to meet friends for some pizza at Roberta's and was quite surprised at how cute this little outdoor mall was in culver city! Had no idea this was here. They have a few eateries and unique boutiques. I would say it's not a place I would spend hours at though. It's quite small. They have some outdoor seating and parking structure attached to it. Parking attendant started sweet but demanded I unplug my charging car to back it in. No signs about this policy. Cost me 2x the charge fee to comply - he threatened to unplug me if I left. Left a bad feeling about this place. If you're looking for boutique shops and cafe's, you'll dig this spot. It's a pretty small outdoor space (not very big) but has lots of seating areas to get some air and enjoy coffee or ice cream. My only complaint is the parking, it's across the street and you have to pay. It also could take a good minute to find parking on the weekends. Took me 10 minutes to get out of the structure. Your parking meters need to say "leave card in" as swiping doesn't work like every other machine. For 3.5 hours of parking $10 is insane. I won't be back. Was stuck at the gate and couldn't leave without calling security. Line of cars behind me. No buzzer to call anyone but I had to call security on my phone and got voice mail. Platform is the Abbott Kinney of Culver City with lots of fab places to eat (Loqui, Cannibal, Sweetgreen), exercise (Soul Cycle), and shop (Poketo, Tom Dixon, Kilter). It's highly developed and designed, but much closer to the 405 than Abbott Kinney. I am a super big fan of Loqui now that I've had a bite of one of their shredded beef tacos. I wonder if my parents once were as excited about old malls as I am about this little shopping center. Best yet, it's just off the Expo Metro line that runs from DTLA to Santa Monica. Culver City may be able to intercept some diners and shoppers before they get cross the 405. read more

This place is a millennial dream haha. Talk about such a slick and beautiful place to shop and eat! I really appreciate the fact that the owners of the shops purposely make everything cashless. I'm also a big fan of the Boba shop and ice cream shop right next to that boba shop. The architecture here is beautiful and I find whatever I'm looking for here. I also am a fan of the new stands that have the rare magazines and fashion magazines. One day I hope to also take a SoulCycle class here! And there's also a beautiful backyard area where they often have community events. So glad that this place is in the neighborhood! read more

This is the strangest shopping plaza ever. A handful of super high-end hipster stores, too quirky to really "browse," overstaffed with a couple of looky-loo customers not buying much. Everything is very close together and over-designed outside, so when small groups form, it felt like being stuck in a tunnel. I visited Platform to find a space to do some work. I saw a friend post the location on Instagram and thought I would check it out. The parking is not that great and I found out that it was actually a shopping center upon arrival. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for but the seating was limited and I had to keep checking the time due to parking. I don't think this is an ideal place to spend the day and work. Also, I would never utilize any of these shops in this shopping center besides the coffee shop, maybe. The best thing about this place is the beautiful aesthetic. read more

The food and drink offerings are great but the parking can be a huge pain. Blue bottle validates for 30mins and sweet greens for 1hr if you use the parking structure. The rates are quite steep if you stay longer. Street parking is minimal. Makes it hard to hang around and enjoy the nice setup. I wish I could give 0 stars. The shopping and restaurant area is extremely cute. The parking garage is an absolute nightmare. It took us OVER AN HOUR to get out of it. It's a terrible design and the guy working there was extremely rude. They need to enforce the right turn only when people exit the garage. The cars were lined up all the way to the rooftop just to exit. You can't charge people hourly for parking when it takes more time to exit the garage than time you parked there. read more

Perfect example of the crappy new development that's taking over Culver City. Over-wrought, over-priced, and if history is any indicator, not long for this world. The new joke in Culver City is, "Don't feel bad about not being able to remember the names of the last three new restaurants in town, because they'll be gone in a couple of months". Tried to take the wife to some pop-up store here today, and when they wanted $10 to park, I just turned around and went home. Silly fools with more money than sense keep opening these incredibly expensive swag-shops- and then they close when they discover people who live here don't want to pay $500 for a sweater. LOL. It's almost like they're preparing for that Silicon Beach overflow the RE people keep promising, where all those twenty-something millionaires from Silicon Valley that can't fit into Playa Vista come and hang out in Culver City. Wow. That idea is almost as brilliant as when the city fathers decided they wanted to turn Culver City into the "next" Brentwood. My advice is to take the train to Santa Monica or DTLA and do your shopping there. Better prices and it's easier to get in and out. read more
