I filled out the form on their webpage requesting someone to call me for more information. Someone called back that same day, (7/29) and we scheduled an appointment for a designer to come to our house to discuss further. Randy came out on Sat 8/2 and talked to my husband and me for about 10 minutes about what kind of pool we are interested in. He then went in our backyard and took some measurement and then explained that he draws his designs by hand, and it would be a couple days (probably Wed) before he would get a design and quote back to us. It's now 8/30 and we still haven't heard one for back from anyone at Platinum pools and spas. read more

I just visited Platinum for the first time ever and have to admit, I was nervous upon first glance at yelps ratings. I was promptly greeted with a smile that lit the building and a warm invitation to plan the designing and pricing of a pool for our brand new home. The mortgage payment only changed a tiny bit for having a complete front and backyard with a pool of our dreams I am super excited to see everything come to fruition now. The design center was a little older but the gentleman that worked there was state of the art and new all the latest trending options for pools. I've had nothing but problems since we started dealing with this company and I thought it was just the workers but nope had the pleasure of speaking to the Owner Larry and he had nothing but an attitude, like he was doing me a favor. Our builder coupled Platinum pools with our home as the preferred vendor. In hindsight, I would never recommend them. The subs they use are good, but platinum is the most disorganized, overpriced, uncommunicative business I've dealt with in a long time. They have no idea who I am every time I call. They have not kept one commitment yet with scheduling. The contact, Paul, is a pompous salesman more interested in avoidance than providing the service he sells. Their office staff never knows what's going on and take messages that have not once been returned. The pool was placed three feet closer to our home than the design dictated and since we moved from another state to take possession of our home post build, the pool had already been started. The lagoon section of the pool was supposed to be 18" deep, it's only 10" deep. All in all, a total rip off in value, quality control, and and honesty in commitment. Shop elsewhere. read more

READ THIS BEFORE YOU VISIT PLATINUM POOLS. I'm not a person who leaves reviews, good or bad, but this one takes the cake. We purchased a lot from our builder in June of 2017. In July 2017 we went to see Platinum Pools of which our realtor representative with the builder told us if we use Platinum they were their preferred pool builder and we had the option to include the pool in our purchase price and they could start building 90 days before close and it would be finished on the day we moved in. NOT TRUE. April of 2018 both the realtors in the office and the Platinum told us that the Maricopa County could not issue 2 permits at once. So the pool would have to wait till after we move in. Don't you think someone should have known this when we first talked about putting in a pool. June 12, 2018, we move in and pool doesn't get started till August 15th. My neighbor has since moved in, after us and their pool company has already started digging. "Amazingly enough they aren't using Platinum." Forward to November 15th, 2018 and we're not even close to being finished. My neighbors pool is now finished and ready to use. "Wow really." I work from home and it's a dam good thing I do, as I had to babysit the subcontractors everyday. I will spare you all the little details to this point but I can tell you the workmanship of Platinum's subcontractors looks like senior day in shop class. Communication after week one, nonexistent. And when Platinum said someone was coming out they didn't show up on that day or came a day or two later. The work that was completed had to be fixed 3-4 times. As of yesterday March 19th, 2018, they were still repairing the waterfall. I'm still waiting for 1 final thing to be done and this project will be finally done after 8 months. I've been involved in Real Estate for over 25 years and I have seen sketchy contractors but Platinum is one of the worst. They fired 2 superintendents of which were here on a regular basis, but were constantly having to repair the previous work that was done. My last superintendent was here doing repairs on the weekends by himself just so the project could keep moving along. Oh and instead of finishing a clients pool when they said they would, they did 2 different model homes for the builder instead of finishing mine. maybe that's why we went 3 weeks at a time without seeing anyone out at my house. In closing, to Larry the owner, don't hire hardscape crews from the Fry's parking lot. Make your employees need to learn how to order pool parts. Get off butt and go out in the field and run your company. Frankly I'm surprised your in business. Both neighbors on each side of me chose not to use your company. A friend of mine chose not to use your company after meeting with one of your salesmen. My friend who bought the lot behind us will not use your company. My friend in Sun City West will not get a bid from your company. It only took 6 months to build a house, pool house and a RV garage. You manage to build my pool in 8 months! read more

Our pool pump died two weeks ago and we needed to get a new pump installed as soon as possible. After an extremely horrible experience with another company, we were extremely blessed to have found Adam with Platinum Pools. Adam was able to get us a much higher quality pump which also included a 3 year warranty for the exact same price as the previous pool company who was providing a significantly lesser quality pump. Adam had to make some minor plumbing modifications but he still had the pump installed quickly and only within a couple of days of our initial call. Adam was extremely professional in all of our interactions and he took time to answer my many pool service/operation questions. I found their pricing to be very fair and they were very responsive to our needs. I am extremely satisfied with the service I received and I will be recommending Platinum Pool Service to everyone I have contact with. read more

Went out for a consultation over a month ago. Was told we would have a design of our pool and back yard within 2 weeks. I have sent a number of emails asking for an update and the plans we were promised and have never received a response. If they aren't willing to keep in communication with someone spending a Bunch of money and paying cash I'm afraid of how the communication will be and the work would be done when we are handing them over 5,000.00 or more bi-weekly. I think we'll find another company. Not satisified at all and we hadn't even started the build yet. Def disappointed! read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They do not do what they say they will do, they charge abnormally high amounts before they do the work, then make up excuses for why they aren't working, etc. Ultimately hired them to build my pool and have now had to hire an Attorney. Subsequently I am having to hire a more reputable company thats based here in Tucson to actually complete my pool. This company is not based here, all their workers come from Phoenix and half the time do not even show up. There's a lot more to my review - but I simply dont feel like writing for three hours. Very disappointing experience. Our pool is 12 years old and we need to spruce it up. Platinum came out but then was non-responsive. Two appointments at their showroom resulted in no shows by our agent. Phone calls were never returned. If our job was too small for them I would have preferred they said that rather than just string us along. We ended up having work done by an unfortunately similar named company, Platinum Pool Care, who did a great job. Was on time and under budget. Try Platinum Pool Care for your update needs and not Platinum Pools and Spas. read more

When my husband and I decided to have a home built by Meritage, we chose Platinum Pools since the pool was promised to be done by time of close and we could include it in our mortgage. This did not happen and we were only given all different kinds of excuses why. We put down 10% of the pool on January 9th, moved into our home July 1st, and the pool was finished in August. It surprises me that Meritage Homes has a relationship with Platinum because in my opinion, Platinum is fraudulent with the promise of having the pool complete at time of close. We had never heard of Platinum and only used them because of Meritage promoting them and the pool being promised to be complete by the time we moved in. Our experience with Platinum Pools was terrible from beginning to end. Their sales person was rude and inappropriate both in person and in his email correspondence to me. We contracted with Platinum for a pool at our new home build earlier this year. Platinum had an agreement with our builder to be able to dig early, providing us with a guaranteed 30-day completion timeline upon close. Since we closed in May, a pool shortly after move-in would be a dream come true. Unfortunately, this dream quickly became a nightmare. The project took over 90 days and we never knew if they were going to show up to do work on a particular day or not because there was zero communication unless initiated by us. In all fairness, there were issues with obtaining the tile for our deck, which was only going to delay us by 10 days to 2 weeks. When 2 weeks became almost 4, we became "those people" following up every couple of days on the status. After 4 plus weeks came and went, we had to threaten to contact the Arizona Registrar of Contractors if some action wasn't taken to resolve the issues. Only then did the owner of the company, Sam, return our calls. We were given apologies and promises of compensation for the numerous issues we experienced in each call we placed to Sam; yes there were several. When the time came time for final settlement, minimal compensation was given (less than 3% of the cost of the pool) which was only given because we owed them money due faulty design requiring additional product and expenses not in the initial contracted amount. The final product is beautiful, however our money would have been better spent with a reputable company with a proven track record for communication and delivery on commitment. read more
