Back in our old hometown visiting old favorites. Plato's is a very nice Coney Island with a large breakfast selection to choose from. Salads, sandwiches, entrees and the main attraction- Coney Dogs and Loose Burgers. It was a busy Sunday morning. The waitstaff is extremely attentive and our food arrived lightning fast. The Spinach Omelette could have had a little more Feta but the Spinach was super fresh. My wife enjoyed a Loose Burger and a Coney Dog. Warning! Portions are massive.

    Coney dog with everything.

If you are like me and have never heard of Plato's Coney Island, then you need to try it. We were traveling through to visit family and stopped here for lunch on the way. We are very glad we did. This just may be better than Lafayette Coney or National Coney! Yes, Plato's is that good. Seat yourself at a clean booth or table. Pull out the menu and order something good. We had our hearts set on coney dogs and they are delicious. Just happened to be here on a Tuesday and was surprised to take advantage of their Tuesday specials. We tried their coney dogs, fries, onion rings, and a bowl of chili for the three of us. Tons of hot food delivered quickly after ordering. Every thing was hot, fresh, and delicious. We left feeling very satisfied.

After leaving a horrible experience elsewhere, my family and I came over to the always cheerful, always quick Plato's. Platos has been a staple in the Canton Community for years upon years. As a family establishment, they treat you like you're a part of their home. We arrived at 12:31 and we had our food and we were enjoying it all by 12:50pm. That's what we call service. I think above all, the service here is what always brings me back. You all do a fantastic job of taking care of those who come through your doors and I thank you for that. And the fries? Oh my gosh golly goodness! So crispy and wonderful. Y'all are fantastic and you are all so appreciated! Keep it up. The place down the road needs to take a tip from this wonderful facility and do better to be a part of the canton community.

Yeees one of my favorite places to go. From the service to the food. Every single time I have gone I have enjoyed. Their Greek Salads are the bomb.com. Today I had a Tom's Omelet minus the gravy. And again no disappointment in anything. The server was just as beautiful inside as she was outside. Have been coming to this plane for over 2 decades and will continue to do so. I'm going to add this because you have people come here speaking from their feelings and not facts. Comparing this Plato's to the one in Garden City. I saw someone say they were imitating them. You can't imitate yourself. Both of these establishments started from the same family. Do your research before you say something silly. "Plato's Place has been family-owned since it's opening in 1969. The original Plato's Place is located in Garden City, Michigan, but has expanded to a second location Plato's Coney Island in Canton, Michigan about 20 years ago. Plato's was first founded by current owner Billy's father Jimmy and his uncle Andy. Jimmy first moved from Greece to Michigan in 1967 to search for better opportunities." https://blog.rewards21.com/platos-place-garden-city-mi-merchant-profile/

The food is all really well cooked and probably the best food I have had in a while. I had French toast with cinnamon and powdered sugar on top. My grandfather had the two jumbo eggs with bacon and pancakes. You walk in and sit down where ever there is a empty booth. The service is very personal and they notice when you walk in. The whole vibe of the place is very rustic but not rusty, if that makes sense. All the prices are reasonable and make sense with inflation and the cost of everything in the end. 6 Cinnamon Swirl French toast with 7 Lincoln sausages. Two Eggs with Toast and Jelly with 3 pancakes. The meal was huge.

Fantastic breakfast special. Added onion, green peppers and cheese to hash browns.

Haven't been here before. Had breakfast special but added green peppers onion and cheese to hash browns. Wow. Was really good. Bacon cooked perfectly. Waitress was friendly and always near by for a refill on drinks. Very pleased. Will definitely be back again soon.

Delicious Greek Food !! Opa !!

I just happened to pass by today and remembered it. It's nothing fancy, just a good, solid local diner kind of place. Sometimes that's exactly what you need. The person who took care of our table was super attentive and really understood my requests. She made sure everything was done the way we wanted, and that always feels good, when someone truly listens and gets it right. The food was decent and prepared just the way we asked. Overall, a simple, satisfying experience. Definitely a reliable spot when you want something easy and comforting.

It's a popular hangout for the local HS students because it's always open. We made a breakfast stop here after I came off a red-eye flight. The parking lot was sparsely occupied which wasn't a surprise because of the early hour and wintry weather. A combination of booths on the edges and tables in the middle made up the main dining room to the right of the service counter. To the left was an auxiliary dining room for overflow at busy times. My friend and I sat at a corner booth and started looking at the two-page laminated menu. The font was rather small with no photos so the number of items was extensive. Breakfast and beverage offerings were listed on the front side. The back displayed the lunch and dinner choices that included nine entrees specifically for adults 62 years and older. I am not sure if they check ID to validate one's age. I wanted a little bit of savory and sweet for my meal. My selection was a Belgian Sampler that consisted of one round waffle, two eggs (sunny side up was my choice), one bacon strip, one sausage link, and one slice of ham. For $11.29, the amount of food on the plate was a good value. The problem was that the waffle was extremely dry. No amount of butter and syrup was going to save the overcooked dough. The service was also a bit spotty. I gave a 3.5 star rating for our visit to Zack's of Plymouth.

I motioned my wife to enter as she has a hard time with stairs and was willing to wait until 10 AM, but came at my bidding. My wife order the Carne Asada fries and a fountain Coke. She love the fries. I ordered a double cheeseburger slider with bacon ( about $5 ) with grilled onions as standard. The bacon was PERFECT!! Chewy, but fully done; no white fat but opaque fully cooked! Awesome burger. 9 out of 10. I also ordered a raspberry shake. It was good ( 6 out of 10 ) and shared it with my wife. Maybe I am spoiled by super sweet chocolate shakes from White Castle. A pricey over $6. Perhaps skip this one or try a malt. I also ordered Chili Cheese Fries. Bless her heart, Ray cooked mine to perfection, well done fries, melted real sliced American cheese, and she put my chili in a side bowl as requested so I could dip the cheese covered ones on the chili ( I stirred in their hot sauce) and the few uncovered fries, dipped into my raspberry shake. Amazingly delicious. 10 out of 10 for each item: crinkle cut fries, coney beef chili ( NO BEANS!!! ) , and great cheese. Chili should NEVER HAVE BEANS!!! Finally I split a deep fried churro un-filled with cinnamon sugar. 7 out of 10. We took most of that home and I ate some during this review. One silly tiny note. The one unisex bathroom ( the restaurant only has 21 stool seats ) had only one working light bulb in the fixture out of 2 or 3. It was very dim like a seedy bar. I told Ray so hopefully it gets fixed soon. If that last bulb goes in there, I hope whoever is in there has their cellphone flashlight working. Finally the overall vibe is stainless steel lunch counter ( 1950's? ) with a deep kitchen. Seven short stools facing the street, Nine facing the kitchen and a very small tall table with Five matching tall stools. That lone table could be crowded with two customers food, but five? Better only have a beverage and one item, and that would be elbow to elbow. Shout out to Detroit Food Review for his October 3, 2025 review for here. That is how we found it. They do have a drive through if you do not want to climb the three stairs or use the ramp or if the restaurant is full inside.
