I had a craving for some authentic street tacos and this place delivered! We also ordered the ceviche and it was fresh and flavorful. The chips are homemade and seasoned with their own homemade Sazon! The service was prompt and hospitable! Music was on point with salsa and merengue; not too loud. Picadillo ground beef was seasoned like my abuelita used to make with more of the beef coming through than potato, perfectly balanced so each ingredient had the spotlight; brisket a la mexicana--- what can I say but LORDDD jugoso, picoso y sabroso... three words you always want your Mexican food to be described as. AH-MAZING. We went there for the 1st time on Saturday and the food was phenomenal as was the service! I had simple breakfast tacos of Chorizo, Egg and Cheese and Bean and Cheese w/Bacon. My husband had the Los Reyes w/Carne Asada. Both were incredible. We had friends go and they loved it too! Free Margaritas as supply allows until they get their liquor license. Saturday we went back! The Ground Beef Soft Tacos, Habanero Special and my Fish, Shrimp and Avocado Tacos were amazing! My new favorite place! 1st Responders get 10% discount so let them know! I want to start off by saying whenever the owner/manager isn't there, I have had excellent service each time. They bring out my chips as soon as they bring out my drinks, and I've been here at least seven times. but the two times I've been there when the owner/manager has been there, he somehow finds a way to come up and argued with with me every time About how he can't do what I want for my order lol. 1. First time he was there I just simply wanted to put Barbacoa in my quesadilla instead of chicken. I wouldn't have minded being up up charged for the better meat. but at first he started going into why they couldn't do it because they are Caribbean restaurant or whatever and that that's why they have the Birria tacos, just for me to ultimately tell him that they've already done it for me the first two times I came to the restaurant. He then goes into telling me how those people should probably be fired then and he's wondering who it was. 2. Today, I come in with a friend who's never been to the restaurant before after telling her how it's my favorite new Mexican food place. ( Chips, Salsa, Birria tacos) just for us to sit down and have the owner come up to us and start arguing with me when I ask for them to bring out my chips and salsa. He starts going into a spiel about how he wants all of his employees to start doing this this way, because they are Caribbean restaurant, etc gives a long response just to ultimately say that some people come in there and just eat chips and salsa whenever I've been to the restaurant almost 10 times now. MIND YOU, every time I've come to the restaurant I come with a friend, not by myself. I pay for the tab myself. & I always get food lol. like a quesadilla (remember the one that he wanted to argue with me about) and Birria tacos which are 15.99. and my guest normally orders food as well, so for this place to call them self a Taco and Grill, serve a majority of Mexican food, to not bring me, a loyal customer who loves their delicious food my chips immediately when I get there and ask for them and try to argue with me about it is ridiculous and unprofessional. I really hope this manager/owner learns to conduct himself and business in a more professional manner. I will give this restaurant one more try and whenever I go in, I expect to have my chips and salsa immediately after getting my drink or shortly after. Not 10 minutes later, when my food is ready. Especially if they don't charge for chips and salsa anyways. (if they did, I would not go because the prices are already a little expensive. this place is definitely worth it if you don't have to deal with the manager. I'm confused why this location has a lower rating than the Seabrook location when the food is the same. Do people on the Northside of the bridge have different palates than those on the Southside. Just visiting Kemah for the first time and looking for good Mexican food. We were apprehensive on the location in a small strip mall, not much around, but this place was so great. Once inside, we saw it was clean, cute, friendly, and festive. Great music and service. Food was perfect!! Guacamole was perfect, margarita with fresh squeezed lime juice was perfect, tortilla chips made in house...perfect! Our meals followed suit. Kids meals and our entrees were great! This place is quick and easy you have to order your food standing up and then they do bring it to you it's simple little street tacos I can't seem to order the right one though my husband says to order the pastor I'll definitely give it another try everything is all a cart though so be fair warned if you want chips or salsa you have to pay for that extra it's not a traditional Mexican restaurant it's like a taco stand with a roof on it They do have some plated food but doesn't seem too appealing to me. I got the Taco Plate which is any three tacos served with beans and rice. The three tacos I got was steak, fish, and cochinita. They were all pretty good. But my favorite was the fish taco! HTC has the same owner and location as Playa Maya. We liked Playa Maya better because there was a wait staff; at HTC, you have to order at the counter then they put a big red thing on your table (like Whataburger) and bring you your food. I guess you would call it semi self-serve restaurant. The food is very good and the charro beans are complimentary though you have to buy the chips and salsa! We arrived at a four star review by giving three stars for self service, styrofoam cups for salsa/queso, and plastic spoons and forks. The food received five stars, which combined gave a score of four stars. The margaritas were also good, but no happy hour. We might return; we might not. It is also a $$ restaurant. read more

My husband and I love coming to Habanero's for breakfast on the weekends. We have been going to their location in Seabrook and are very excited for their new location between Kemah and League city! The staff is always so friendly and take good care of us every time. I don't like egg so it is very hard to find good breakfast tacos that fill be up. You can build your own taco based off the meats you don't want and just pay a little extra for no egg and instead you get a very full breakfast taco. My husband has tried many different plates they have with several different tacos. Fried fish tacos, tacos de pastor etc. and he always loves them. They also have complementary charro beans that are THE BEST beans I have ever had and I say this coming from a Hispanic family. If you like Horchata then you have to get a glass from this place. They also have fried plantains that are perfect. Not over fried and not under. Delicious food, great staff and best all... it's inexpensive. This places really surprised me... I was looking for a good taco place so I decided to come here. The guy at the bar was welcoming and asked if it was our first time, we said it was and he explained some things of the restaurant. As we ordered I told him if I could could have a side of Chipotle sauce... This is where things took a drastic turn, he straight up told us we didn't need it cus they put plenty of it on the tacos. (mind you I saw the pictures and I'm sorry I'm a sauce person) so I asked if we could have it on the side he told us we could only have the sauces on the table cus we would ruin their tacos because they are "mayo based".... I was like bro I'll pay for the sauce if thats the case and he still said no. So my wife and I went to get our drinks and we spoke about the situation... When we sat down the waiter came and we politely asked if we could get Chipotle sauce if it's not too much to ask... He went straight to the guy who was rude to me and again... In front of other customers he belittled me by saying I can't get sauce, mind you that our food is already paid for. (As a business owner, how could you ridicule a paying customer in front of all the other customers). I was tempted to ask for my money back but I was being patient, when they came out with our food they gave me a really small thing of Chipotle... At this point after all that ridicule he gave me the sauce... After we finished I wanted to talk to the owner which was the same guy who ridiculed me... I was being as professional as can be and super kind and said, "with all due respect we felt like your customer service was not good, if we go to chick fila, pluckers, etc. They will not think twice and take the customers needs over anything and give respect their customer.
