We had a nice dinner last night at Plaza Garibaldi. This is a very casual restaurant with lots of Mexican flair, which we found endearing. The servers were older and were quite pleasant. We started with a cheese quesadilla, which was very different than what we were used to in our home state of Arizona. It was still very good And came with sour cream and guacamole, which was nice. I had a bean and cheese burrito with an enchilada sauce on top of it. I have eaten a lot of bean burros in my day being a native of Arizona and this was the best one I have ever had. Husband had the chicken tacos and he enjoyed them. The only thing that fell a little flat was their Garibaldi Margarita. I did not really care for it and would probably just order another type of Margarita next time. We will definitely be going back the next time we visit Seattle. Note that there is not designated parking for this restaurant. There is a paid lot available, which was six dollars but other than that the additional lot next to the restaurant was for monthly paid parking. We just parked on the street and walked over. read more

Food is always spectacular. They make super thin chips in-house that they give for free with great salsa. I eat like 2 baskets cause they are so good! Drinks are great, cheap and stiff. Food was excellent! Service was ok. Asked a woman for more salsa, when she asked if I needed anything, then she never came back. Later, I saw her again, she asked if everything was ok, I asked for more salsa again, and again, she didn't come back with any salsa. Strange. However, my server was ok and got me things if I asked. Water was empty for a while, no one noticed, so had to ask. No one came to check and see if my order was right. Thankfully it was otherwise who knows when I would've seen someone to make it right. Things like that. If service was more on point, I definitely would've given 5 stars. Regardless, food was delicious and I am likely going back today to try something else! Chips and salsa are delicious and their hot sauce is nice and spicy with great flavor! Lots of cheese on the enchiladas, just how I like them, and the chips were thin and crispy! Coming from a die hard TexMex devotee, this is the best Mexican food I've had in Washington since moving from Texas about 1.5 yrs ago! Forgot to take pics until after this time, but as you can see most of the food was devoured! List of what we've tried : - enchiladas (chicken, cheese, and beef) - beef is the best, cheese is close second! Chicken is good too, just not the best of the three. - chicken fajitas - lots of veggies, well seasoned and cooked chicken. I got whole beans and they're good! Flour tortillas are fine but not homemade. That's the main thing that would up their fajita game. - tostadas - best in Seattle, hands down! Most places don't even have them - nachos - excellent and large portion - margaritas- house marg is good! - salsa - the red salsa is exceptional for Seattle. Just enough kick - relish/Pico served with chips- always fresh and a nice touch to the chips and salsa! Overall, love this place. It's now the only Mexican food we will eat in Seattle. Also, always excellent service and very quick! We've been here at least ten times and will come back anytime we need our Mexican food fix! read more

Excellent to have a nice Mexican place like this back in Queen Anne. We ordered the "Tres Amigos" and it was great. Sauces tasted fresh and the meats were cooked to perfection. We also had the veggie fajitas. Nice to have fresh mushrooms and even eggplant in there. Chips and 2 kinds of salsa came as soon as we sat down. Drinks were delivered instantly and they were refreshing and delicious. They need some better advertising - or word of mouth (we'll do what we can) - because when you're in the mood for tasty Mexican food, Plaza Garibaldi is perfect. I was here for lunch with some co-workers. So nice to see a Mexican restaurant in this area! The brought us complimentary chips and salsa and some other type of cabbage tomato and jalapeno mix for the chips which was super tasty. The mojito we ordered was flavorful and fresh. We ordered the chorizo burrito that came with rice and refried beans. The burrito had a good flavor and the chorizo was quite lean which was nice. The refried beans were tasty! Excellent Mexican fare! The free chips and salsa are great! Their pico was my favourite as it had the addition of shredded cabbage. I ordered a black bean and cheese burrito (ginormous, by the way!) and a side of guacamole to accompany the burrito (and left over chips). Ate dinner during happy hour, so I couldn't pass up a happy hour margarita (or two)... Great spot, friendly staff. Being in the neighbourhood, this will probably be the Mexican food usual eatery. read more

Plaza Garibaldi is one of those places that I feel like will be awful but it's always really good. Let's start with the food - of course you get chips and salsa when you sit down and they are hot and fresh, never chewy or soggy. The salsa is a bit spicy for my taste but I'm a total wimp. The food itself is beyond plentiful and pretty delicious. I've had everything there from the taco salad to the Pollo Asada and it's all been delicious. It's also really fast to come out! Like, crazy fast. And the wait staff are lovely - very sweet, very kind. They are very kid friendly, with both kid-friendly food and beverages. My kiddos are not so little anymore but they still love going there, which is a rarity since their tastes change so quickly Drinks are also good, not too strong but definitely not weak. I ordered the spinach enchiladas and the super nachos, delivered by Bite Squad. Pros: huge portions. The super nachos could feed an entire family. I felt pretty foolish for even thinking I could put a dent in this. To my defense, the photo of the nachos online didn't look so huge. They seem to use fresh ingredients. Chips and salsa are free with an entree order. Guac is solid and toppings are flavorful. Cons: my food was not hot by the time it got to me and the veggies were undercooked. I'm all about a little crunch but they really should've let the veggies cook for another 10 minutes or so. The nachos were just okay. Kind of bland. The enchiladas had a lot of potential but we're just okay. I'm also sick right now so maybe everything tastes a little more flavorful than what's registering one my palate. All right I had to stop because of the name. First of all shout to our amazing waitress, she took really good care of us and was honest and really helpful about explaining the menu. So as we sat down I was looking through the menu and I was trying to find the most authentic dish they had, but I was struggling. That's when our waitress came and pointed out some of the dishes that would hit home for us. So the first thing I asked, was if they had horchata and she said yes but it's the powder mix not the homemade one. I was sad, but really happy that she was honest!!! I had the pork poblano enchiladas with the black beans and rice. It was different but very tasty, and they came with a green sauce instead of a red sauce. My wife had a coctel de camarones (shrimp Cocktail) which was one of the best one she has had here in the Seattle area. Overall the experience was great, and the customer service was amazing. I don't think I had to ask onces to have my drinks filled up they would make multiple rounds and by the time my drinks were half way done they would come by and ask if I would like a refill. The only thing that was not good was parking. It was crazy expensive because there was some event going on. read more

***Restaurant of LIES, bigotry, and bad service*** This past weekend, I recommended to my friends that we check out this Mexican restaurant called "Plaza Garibaldi" after being in the Sunday parade. There were 26 of us so we made reservations before hand. When we arrived at the reserved time, they were unprepared to receive us so we were forced to sit separately. I could let that go if it wasn't for the the BIG PROBLEM. This BIG PROBLEM was their menus. Two problems actually. The food selection specifically mentioned that sour cream came INCLUDED with the meal. Nope! The menu was misleading and the bill gave us an extra charge for that on the final bill. I also ordered a drink from their "special menu" expecting it to be the price on the menu. Silly me, I was charged $2 MORE. When I inquired about this, the manager very adamantly told me, "That's the old menu and we don't have a new menu with the changed price yet. It's still that (higher price) on the bill." SERIOUSLY? He couldn't even admit to a mistake and had to make an EXCUSE to cover it up. RED FLAG!!!! To me it sounds like he was either trying to STEAL from us and hope that no one noticed or he was a BIGOT. I just wonder how many other people he got away with CHEATING out of their money. The only reason they get two stars instead of one is because the food isn't that bad. But I still ask myself, "Am I really willing to put up with dishonesty and theft just to eat here?" One thing for sure, neither I nor my 26 friends will be returning here again. read more

This place was so good, we came here twice. The first time we came here was on a Thursday afternoon for an early dinner. We may have been the only ones in the restaurant when we first got there but it filled up a bit towards the end of our visit. I ordered their Ceviche which was excellent. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. Along with the tasty horchata, I was very satisfied with the quality of their food. Chips and salsa were also delicious and abundant. Our server was very attentive and kind. On our second visit we came for breakfast and boy, that was a treat. I ordered the chorizo with eggs, which came with beans and rice. Everything was perfection. The egg and chorizo ratio was perfect. The bean consistency was the perfect mix between whole beans and refried. The portion, again, were huge. Sharing plates here is a must if you don't usually eat large portions alone. We definitely will come back to try other things on the menu next time we're in Seattle. read more

I was super hungry after a long day of exploring Seattle. Was looking for a good Mexican spot and came across this location. Feels and has the atmosphere of a traditional Mexican restaurant. Walked in and was greeted by the host and was seated right away, the place did have customers but not so busy where we had to wait. Service was great from the minute we sat down and was offered chips and salsa, till the minute we left and was given the bill. We ordered drinks and appetizers to starts and that came out rather quickly, shortly after we ordered our food and that was perfect timing as well. As far as cozy Mexican comfort food goes, Plaza Garibaldi is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Seattle! Sure there are other gourmet Mexican places, like Poquitos, or Catus. Or you've also got the smaller taco-truck authentic joints like Rancho Bravo or Tacos Chukis. But for comforting, family restaurants, this place takes the cake! I got the seafood enchilada which was exceptional! It came with the standard sides of rice and beans. Most places fill their enchiladas with meat, cheese, roll em, and sauce em. But these guys go the extra distance. My enchilada was filled with shrimp, crab meat, fresh assorted bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, sauced and cheesed ,with an added bonus of avocado on top! And it was big enough for two meals. So I took the rest home and had it again the next day for lunch. The atmosphere is like any generic Mexican restaurant. But it was very clean. The service was amazingly friendly, and they were on top of our drinks and making sure our chips and salsa were full... because that's always the best part of eating Mexican! read more

I want to like this place: it's close to where I live, the menu appears fairly authentic, and I like to support local joints. However, I've had one good meal out of six, and I order the exact same thing each time with no variation. The price varies based on who is ringing up my order ($3.00 charge for something that was listed on the menu as part of my order), I get the wrong meat, I get the right meat but the wrong meal, and tonight I received a reheated meal where the middle of the order was cold, but the sides were burning hot. It was completely tasteless and inedible. No more to-go for me! I've learned my lesson and will steer clear. read more

My friends and I stopped in for a late dinner (around 8pm) on a Saturday after seeing such great reviews and we were craving some good mexican food. The place was empty which seemed strange but we had great service! We sat in the bar...the food wasn't terribly pricey for Seattle, but it makes up for the cost with its' size - OMG the portions are HUGE. They immediately served us chips with two different types of salsa on the house, which is always my check on an authentic mexican joint. They also promptly served us water and then a little while later took our orders. My friends also ordered the $12.95 margarita ($11.95 + $1.00 for pomegranate flavoring) and it was a perfect size for the 3 of them. All the while, karaoke happened to be setting up - and boy was he entertaining! A couple of us got up to sing, but when no one else was volunteering the guy running the music would get up and do a song - he was incredibly talented. Since I'm slightly inebriated right now, I'll make this short, broken into food, drink, and final thoughts. I ordered a combo of a chicken enchilada and chile relleno. The enchilada was really good, but the relleno was seriously lacking. It tasted as though it was prepared a while ago. The inside cheese wasn't melted...at all, and the outside dough was very spongy and soggy. The whole relleno was just a terrible disappointment. I would stay clear of the rellenos.....which is just sad, because I'm a HUGE relleno fan, definitely my favorite Mexican/New Mexican food. It's not difficult to make fresh, and when done right, they're so amazing. My relleno experience was just sad. Definitely one of the worst I've ever had. The drinks. Sangria anyone???!!!! The sangria was incredibly delicious....but was served with SO much ice. My girl actually asked me if I was enjoying my ice. Definitely ask for little or no ice, which I did for my second glass. The ambiance is incredibly pleasant, soft playing music, dim lights, Mexican decorations along the walls. The wait staff is attentive, friendly, and on top of their game. The people here are just wonderful. Free chips and salsa when you sit. Overall, 3 stars. I've eaten here many times. The relleno needs some serious work. I don't know when they're made, but it didn't taste "made to order". The enchilada was good, and the ice with sangria was very, very good (easily fixable). I'll be back, but definitely trying others. I need to find a new Mexican/Spanish restaurant to call home, since my old favorite back in NY closed (forever love you Cafe Español). read more

This place is a little gem of a place in Seattle! Some good ass Mexican in a big city. It feels authentic and so yummyyyyy. The menu is HUGE. Oh man, it is SO hard to choose from so many things. They have something for everyone- vegetarians and meat eaters alike! I love the chips and dip that they provide, we ordered some queso to go with it. I ordered the veggie enchilada and wow, they are huge! I could save it for three meals and be content. Our party ordered the 64oz margaritas too... two of them! Plaza Garibaldi is a great spot for quick, efficient service. The restaurant itself is decorated in a traditional Mexican style. They have a bar and do karaoke on some nights. We ordered shrimp fajitas and carne asada. The food came out quick! That is good and worrisome at the same time. The restaurant does not have its own parking but you can find street parking nearby at an affordable rate. I'd recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a bite of Mexican to eat in Seattle but don't want anything or the Chipotle category or some sort of rustic, organic, texmex restaurant. Exceptional Mexican food with gigantic portions. I got the (I think...) number 7 combination, which comes with an enchilada and a chalupa. I got chicken for my chalupa, and ground beef for my enchilada. The chicken here is slightly bland, but all the cheese and sauce on top makes up for that. The Mexican rice is some of the best I've had anywhere, too. The complimentary chips and salsa are very good and met with a pico de gallo with cabbage concoction that I also enjoyed. Good stuff. I've had better Mexican food, but the food here is still great and the portions are like what I tend to expect from a Chinese restaurant. Since The Armory has limited quality food options, a short quarter-mile or so walk to Plaza Garibaldi is worth it if you want some Mexican food. read more

Plaza Garibaldi is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Seattle..and better yet, we live super close to it! I have been here both before and after the pandemic, and am still impressed at the consistent food quality and deliciousness that comes from the restaurant. Some of the menu items my husband and I have tried: 1) Salads - Fajita Salad - The deep fried tortilla bowl is massive! This salad will still fill you up very much. I highly recommend ordering this with steak. 2) Main Courses-Beef - Carne Asada - This is my husband's go-to at any Mexican restaurant, and he gobbled it all up. The restaurant correctly cooked the steak to his liking and it still came piping hot upon delivery! 3) Combinations - One Enchilada, One Taco, and One Tamale - When ordering this to go, they very kindly package the taco separately since it's in a crunchy shell. It also comes with generous sides of refried beans and rice. Yummy when you want a variety! 4) Burritos - Super Burrito Garibaldi - This thing. is. GINORMOUS. Typical burrito but the flavors are on point and the burrito is so big, you will have leftovers for days. 5) A La Carta - Fried Jalapenos - One order comes with 3 jalapenos. Surprisingly the jalapenos were not as hot as I would've thought...which can be both a good and bad thing. 6) Dessert - Flan - Oh boy. Not only is the flan DELICIOUS, but the portion size is more than generous. This is a must get. Sadly I have not taken pictures of our food because we just devour it right away!
