Joey and Jon are right... this place is cheap but rude. Very rude, they office staff for residential is rude too especially someone by the name of Tracy or (or Stacy). There is only one garbage company in pleasanton (like most all cities). So what choice do we have but to use their service for garbage collection. I love pleasanton, the only thing I have is the Garbage collection service. Last week they forgot to pickup my garbage, I found out the next day and they would come out again. My green bin is missing a lid I called to get a replacement and the answer was.. We will take your order, but can not guarantee that you will receive one. I asked if they had a ship date from the vendor and they said no. I asked if I was a new customer moving to Pleasanton would I get a green bin, the answer was no....not until we get them in...I spoke to the manager and then left a message for Debbie her manager...I am a captured customer receiving no customer service! Terrible service. They forgot to pick up my Christmas tree last year. I called to let them know. Said they would come and never came. After 3 tries and numerous promises, they never came. I ended up hiring my gardener to haul it away. He charged me $60. read more

Customer service was horrible, The company doesn't take responsibility for its drivers/trucks, on 5/17/2016 I called and spoke with Eric the manager and he did absolutely nothing for me, other then say call your insurance company. On my way to work one of Pleasanton Garbage Services Trucks ( Truck Number CA 56964 ) had debris off the top and hit my windshield cracking it. The Customer Service he provided as a manager was horrible and he didn't offer anything, empathy, or solutions from his managerial position. Eric also made a comment how do you know it was my truck, and went on the defensive and never offered any solution other then contact your insurance company. I will contact the news companies next. I will continue to press this issue just on the standpoint of principle and the horrible customer service. If there was any sort of customer service empathy, or partial solution provided, I would have more then likely just dropped the whole thing. read more

After the recycling truck and garbage truck have passed, the street is almost always littered with trash that has fallen from cans being emptied. I miss the city run service from years ago. This didn't happen when the city ran the service. read more

For the 2nd week in a roll, my trash can was not dumped! I rarely reviewed anything anywhere, but this is NOT acceptable. And like everybody already said, living in Pleasanton, we do not have any choices of other garbage companies, and that's why they can always get away with it. I called and left 2 voice message during their "normal business hours", of course, no replies. I decided to keep calling, and miraculous, got to talk to "Stacy" this time and I YELLED at her. Said my can was missed 2 weeks in a roll, which means I have literally 3 weeks' trash in it! Last week we thought it was a careless overlook, but this week also! Stacy said she was gonna call the driver to come back to do it, I yelled to her and it needs to be done TODAY, she said yes she's gonna call the driver. Miraculously he did come back quick enough. I suggest that if you call with any problems, be loud and firm like what I did. I'm not a person who would yell at people, but I think this time it worked. Because I let her know how furious I was, she dared not give me any nasty and irresponsible answer/service. Well, or maybe I was just lucky today. read more

We, the people of Pleasanton, are being charged for garbage services more than other cities in the US, but we get less services! There is no free Big and Heavy Items Pickup like other cities that residents can schedule (by phone or online), like 5 times in a year. Our extra plastic trash bags or trash cans are not picked up, in case you have garbage/recycling/yard waste more than the capacity of your cans (this service is available in most cities in the US for free). You have to borrow used and sometimes damaged and not very clean cans from PGS and they call it RECYCLING cans! first of all, I'm sure the owners know that Recycling and Reusing are two different animals. Recycling has its own distinguished definition. For example, in recycling you do not compromise quality, hygiene, and health; and also almost always new products are being made from used ones. Here in Pleasanton, residents have to take their big and heavy items, like a used sink, a mattress, or a used treadmill, etc. to the Pleasanton recycling center and PAY a MINIMUM $9 and dump them with no help of anybody. The business located at Busch Rd., is a multi-million Dollar business with a good profit but the owners are so greedy that they put a part of their job (picking up at least for residential big items) on residents' shoulders; and not only that, they charge us too!! Ridiculously sad! This is ripping off people because they believe they have the right to do it since they worked hard and started the garbage collecting business 60 years ago in Pleasanton long time before high income families live here. Charging people for your hard work is something and ripping off them is ...! Other than this, we sometimes have missed pickups because of insufficient supervision, so we have to call PGS office (not a very pleasant experience either!) and request a pickup, sometimes several times! read more

I Just have to say every time I have called (total of four times) to get info on large boxes for commercial trash bins of which we have spent thousands of dollars on them already, the two lady's I spoke with are EXTREMELY RUDE! I got off the phone with Linda because she HUNG UP ON ME! I have been nothing but nice when I call and all I get is "I don't understand what you're asking me" among other things... well lady you work in customer service- TRY to understand me! Never again using them. Another lady just transfered me without even hearing the rest of my sentence. So. Rude. read more

First timer, but all went very well. Have a new place in rural Sunol that has no pickup service. Have been storing compacted garbage for three months and finally hit the cubic yard mark (about 13 bags worth!). Headed down to get the non-resident rate of $23. Also had substantial loads of cleanly separated moving/wrapping paper, and bottles. So I get there, describe my load, and he bills me $6. "I'm not a resident y'know. Haven't signed up for service, since we don't get any up there." He replies, "That's why we let you in for $6.". Hmm, my 3 month garbage bill is now $6. "Oh and take your paper and bottles to the back shed there, You'll get a little cash for the glass.". OK this is different. Run the course, and get $5 for my bottles. Hmm, last 3 month's garbage bill: $1. Could be worse. read more

Great customer service from cowboy. Only dump around thats open on sunday. Been to a fewother dumps. So Thought it was going to be at least $200 it only came out to $81 so unbelievably cheap here. Its clean and had to write a review read more
