I have a mini Yorkshire terrier named Zeus. Nancy clipped Zeus's nails last week and begged us to let her groom him. Since my husband and I were busy, my mom took him to be groomed. She showed her the images of Yorkies we wanted Zeus to look like with specific grooming directions, dropped Zeus off for his appointment putting her full trust in Nancy (especially because of a newspaper article on display in the shop that showed Nancy with a Yorkie). Also, our family members have taken their dogs to be groomed and praised her. Well... the images shown to Nancy of other Yorkies had cute baby doll faces, the hair trimmed short just around the eyes and ears, and along the back. The leg hair kept longer to make the legs appear stocky and the facial beard kept to give the face a round appearance and a stocky neck. Our directions included leaving his tail hair long, leg hair long, and cut short only his back and ears. When we picked up Zeus, his hair is cut so short that his legs and neck appear long, his face so thin that he doesn't even look like a Yorkie! He looks like a Schnauzer! With a poodle haircut! Nancy disregarded our wishes and cut Zeus how SHE wanted to. She ignored direction completely! Not only is it not what we wanted, but it's extremely uneven and unfixable. THE WORST PART: He doesn't look like himself, he doesn't act like himself, and it will take at least 6 weeks for his hair to grow back!! I could live with a bad haircut, but my puppy is now extremely self-conscious and doesn't want to cuddle or be the sweet boy he was. I pray my Zeus will gain his confidence back when his hair grows back... it's unbearable seeing him this way. If all you're looking for is a bath, brush, and nail trim this place is fine. DO NOT take your dog to this place. I'm not a professional groomer myself, but I do groom my own dog most of the time and I do a far better job than Nancy "The butcher" did with Sasha. When I saw the dog, the look of horror on my face prompted Nancy to tell me that the dog was "extremely matted" and this is the best that she could do. Two days before turning the dog in, I specifically took most of the mats out to make sure she has an easier time at the groomer. For comparison, I'm going to show you some pictures of what "the butcher" aka Nancy did.. vs what a real dog salon does. When I was completely dissatisfied with the reprehensible job that Nancy did, she didn't even offer a discount on her glue factory quality work. She told me that she has been doing this for 30 years. Sorry "the butcher", Nancy, just because you've been horrible at your job for 30 years, doesn't make you better at it. If you even remotely care about what your pets look like, do not take your dog to Flush Puppy. That's right.. the qualify of the grooming job is so crappy, that the place should be renamed to Flush Puppy. read more

Brought Sugar, my one year old golden doodle, here for the first time. Nancy did such a great job. She did everything I asked, including really trimming between Sugar's toes so fox tails don't get stuck because we have that problem during the summer. Melanie has groomed of all my dogs (Labrador's and Golden Retriever's) as well as my Guide Dog puppies in training, Nikkia, her daughter, joined the business a few years ago, you couldn't ask for a better pair to take care of your pups grooming needs. They have excellent grooming practices and handle every dog with care, concern, and attend to any special needs. They both work extremely hard, have a great attitude and are sweet sweet sweet! This was Sadie's first groom with Melanie although she's been going to Plush Puppy for years and groomed by Nancy. Nancy was always so good with Sadie so was a little hesitant with taking her to 'new' groomer. Sadie is a rescue and fearful and nips. Melanie was amazing with her though and was even understanding of the few times Sadie nipped at her. Melanie is obviously an experienced groomer in every aspect of the business. And now we can include Covid - very safe experience. She came to the door with a mask to get Sadie etc. We did not have to go in but could tell that it was clean. Plush Puppy is the BEST place to take your pup to get groomed! Melanie had gone above and beyond for our old dogs, and now Nikkia does the exact same! Both are incredible people, so kind and warm, and they treat your pets like their own. They take extra care of them! My dog had moles on his body that a previous groomer would catch and make them bleed, we let Nikkia know about it and she was always extra gentle with him making sure he was never treated like that. His favorite thing was spa day with Nikkia and he was so excited to go! He especially loved his blueberry facials and post groom bow ties! This is the only place I would ever go from now on, and the only place I'd recommend. If you're looking for the best place that will care for your pet as much as you do, look no further. I took my puppy Ruby in for a groom today. She's a 9 lbs Morkie. Plush puppy did such a great job with her! I was worried because the last place I had taken her to (won't name names) butchered her hair and even cut 4 of her quicks and left her nails sharp, which is so sad and unprofessional :( So my husband gave Plush Puppy very detailed instructions on what to do with her (haircut not too short, careful with her quicks, etc.) and they followed everything perfectly. They gave her a great haircut (a puppy cut just like the photos we showed them), she smells great, nails look great, and they even threw in a free teeth brushing for our being first time customers. Had an appt. for dog grooming on Tues. but I agreed to reschedule the day when PP called on Mon. & asked me to move it to Wed. Then Wed. a.m. Melanie called & asked me if I would come in at 11:00 instead of the 12:30 time we had scheduled. I agreed to that change as well. Melanie called me at 2:30 & left me a message stating my dogs grooming was done & that she was giving me 20-30 mins to pick up my dogs. I called her back & said I would be by in an hour and a half. She went ballistic on the phone & told me she had informed me when I dropped off my dogs that I had 1/2 an hr. to pick them up from the time she called me. Now how unreasonable is that? I never agreed to that & I told her so. She threatened to lock up my dogs in the shop for the night & told me I could pick them up tomorrow. I told her that was kidnapping & she couldn't do that. So, she said she'd lock them up in the shop & come back & meet me there at 4:30 as she had a dog sitting job she had to leave to go do. How is that the customer's problem? Like most customers I have a scheduled day with appointments & obligations throughout. I cancelled 2 appointments & went immediately to the Plush Puppy. I was met by Melanie who exclaimed, "I'm not a babysitter for your dogs & you agreed to pick your dogs up in 30 mins of my calling you, etc."(The dogs stay in cages in between grooming & she's getting paid to groom them; how's that babysitting?) I explained that I never agreed to pick up my dogs in 30 mins. & that the business should be open according to their posted business hours. She said we close whenever the last dog is picked up. Well she still had a dog she was grooming. She interrupted me & snapped, "Because I have had to argue with you I'm now late grooming this dog. Take your dogs & go, I don't even care to take your check." She got my dogs, opened the doggy gate, & walked away. I told her she was unprofessional & I left. I accommodated her requests twice; to change the appt. day & then the time. Instead of the business accommodating me the customer, I was expected to bend over backwards for the business. I will not go back there again. They only have 1 groomer there & she isn't worth it. read more

I was in a car accident and can't wash my dog myself at the moment. In the past I've tried many dog groomers but started washing the dog myself because I wasn't satisfied and more importantly my dog always seemed agitated or down-right scared to go back to a groomers. I have now been to Plush Puppy a number of times for weekly baths (she's a poodle mix so needs frequent baths) and grooming every 6-8 weeks and have always been satisfied. They cut the dog's fur as I requested - in fact I think it is the best cut she's ever gotten and just for washes the dog always smells great and looks better than when I do it myself. The cleanliness also seems to last longer when they bath her but then I guess that also depends on what the dog rolls in during the week : ). Also, I love the fact that they don't keep the dog all day - which would add to her anxiety. Its probably why she isn't upset to go back since she knows it won't be an an all day ordeal. It always bugged me with every other groomer I have tried that even if I drop the dog off for their first appt. in the morning I still wouldn't get her back until late afternoon or early evening. I started using a mobile groomer for that reason but haven't had good luck with getting consistent service. So pleased to have found Plush Puppy. read more
