It's been a long time since I've been to Po Le. My question is why did I not come back sooner. My wife had the spinach salad with goat cheese and the Dover sole entree. I had the Caesar salad and pappardelle with duck ragu. My wife loved her salad (especially the perfectly prepared breaded, warm goat cheese). She also loved her filleted Dover sole. My Caesar salad was generously dressed and my pappardelle was quackishly delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the duck ragu was generous in portion and more generous in flavor. We finished dinner with a blueberry tart (and that was also delightful - not too sweet or tart). Lastly, the service was impeccable and very friendly. If you want a great Italian meal, this place is hard to beat! read more

Po Le opened in the former location of Mina Cucina and Filippo's in a strip mall along Bethlehem Pike in Spring House. The owner was formally a chef at San Marco up the street. The only changes to the design of the restaurant was the addition of outside seating. The layout remained mostly the same from how Mina was setup. The buzz locally was that the food was top notch and I had to see for myself. We made reservations 1 week in advance for a Friday night around 7pm. We arrived and were seated immediately. The restaurant was completely full shortly after we were seated. Our sever came over after a few minutes to open our wine and get some ice for our beer. The menu is rather compact which is fine but the specials list was about the same size. After the server was finished advising us of the specials it almost seemed like there were more specials then entrees. My mother ordered an anti pasta for the table and we all shared an order of Calamari. Each of us also ordered and entree. I thought he food was good and it was obviously fresh. While I did enjoy my meal It wasn't memorable. I'm sure I will return again sometime but I didn't get what all the hype was about. read more

this is the best meal ive had in pennsylvania in the 18 months ive been here. even the first moment of truth when i placed the order and even the pick up was by far the best pick up experience ive had during this global pandemic. the thoughtfulness and grace in the conversation taking the order blew my mind. then during the pick up experience they couldn't have been more gracious and you could easily tell there were many regulars just by observing, plus they were ordering tons. i see why now there were huge orders bc the food was absolutely amazing seafood ravioli. i got that because of yelp so thank you to my faithful loyal yelpers. it was by far the best made from scratch pasta dish ive had in a long time. it was a delicious sauce full of flavor that also included HANDMADE ravioli stuffed with crab and who knows what else along with jumbo shrimp, perfectly cooked scallops, and big chunks of crab. the ravioli is handmade so obviously it was amazeballs. caesar salad was spot on. not sure if the croutons were homemade but i don't care.. then to top it all off they included generic table bread AND a few home made mini desserts! the guy has worked francois at payard at le bernardin so of course he knows what he is doing. the desserts included 2 cookies, an apple danish, and a mini chocolate souffle. are you kidding me?!? it was not mentioned these would be included but im sure they'll throw something in for you but it may be slightly different. Dining at Po Le's Cucina is an amazing, love-filled experience. You not only get the best Italian food in the Philadelphia region, you get a warm inviting atmosphere and Po Le's Family: Lilly, Dee and Philip, taking care of you. You feel like you stopped by at Po Le's home for dinner. Philip saved the day the last time we were there!!! Po Le has incredible purveyors who bring in the highest quality food. I am a fish eater and he makes seafood like expertly. The Dover sole and branzino are to die for and in the summer I eat soft shell crabs and langostinos regularly, expertly prepared by Po Le. My husband and I have been dining at Po Le's since Day number 1. We knew Po Le from San Marco and followed him to his own place. And we dine there regularly. The best BYO in a 20 mile radius. Po and his family serve the freshest food prepared in a French style. The courtesy chocolate chip cookies at the end of the meal are a highlight. My wife & I eat here so regularly that the staff recognizes us and greets us by name when we arrive! The food is consistently great! Not much for atmosphere and the place is small so the seating is too close for comfort but otherwise Chef Po turns out a nice product. He is open to customizing the menu offerings to switch out things you don't like or sauces you would rather have, which is nice. So many places are so inflexible with their menus! I also love that the whole family works there since I also work in a family business. This place is popular with locals so get your reservations in early. Don't wait till Thursday for a Friday reservation- you won't get in! BTW the deserts are all made in house and are great too. read more

Best Italian food I've had. Super friendly staff, very nice atmosphere and the food is DELICIOUS!!! I had the Duck Ragu even though I don't like mushroom I still ate the whole thing. The quality of food is literally as good as expensive restaurant like Morimoto but for fraction of the price. I had 3 appetizers and 2 Entrees and none of them disappoint!! It is gratifying that Yelp sent me this recommendation, which turned out to be a delightful dining experience. I booked a reservation for 3 on Resy, for outside, in their covered patio. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated, and the hostess (Chef Po Le's charming daughter took our bottle of white wine to the refrigerator to keep chilled. She apologized for our table not being ready at our arrival. When we were seated, our chilled bottle was waiting at our table for us. Appetizers: my wife had the Eggplant Rollatini, which she loved. It was prepared with Ricotta Cheese and served with three different sauces: a bechemel, marinara and balsamic vinaigrette. Very creative and delicious. I had grilled Calamari that was smoked, and served with pickled onion and a lemon wedge. Also well-prepared. Our dining companion, David had the fried Calamari, served with a marinara sauce. He also enjoyed his dish. Entrees: Betty had a cooked-through Salmon with a vegetable medley. The salmon was cooked properly, and moist. I had the Veal Osso Bucco over risotto. It was a hearty dish with lots of "fork tender" meat and a large enough shank bone for a generous amount of marrow. It was a memorable dish, and I am a "maven" of Osso Bucco. David thoroughly enjoyed a Seafood Linguini, with so much seafood, he had to"dig for the linguini". Desserts: Betty and I shared a delightful fresh fig tart served on a flaky pastry with fresh whipped cream, while David had a flaky apple turnover, also with fresh whipped cream. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to learn that one of the desserts were complimentary (for the inconvenience of waiting for our table!) Chef Po Le came out to greet us at our table, a most gracious and humble host. This is a family-run restaurant with wife, son and daughter. This place was a pleasant surprise when I was in the area visiting my little brother at Villanova university. My family was looking for an Italian restaurant and this little place was nearby our hotel and had a delicious looking menu. The ambience is loud and cramped but the story behind the restaurant is really one to admire! It's a Vietnamese family that works and owns the place, but after hearing that I was hoping that they would have menu options with Vietnamese flair but none were to be found. Instead we opted for 4 different pasta options to be shared amongst 5 people. The wait for the food was long and the bread they serve you in the beginning is definitely lackluster. I was starving and ate a roll anyways with the refrigerated cold butter slabs. We ordered the veal osso bucco, the seafood linguini with red sauce, the seafood ravioli and the pappardelle with duck. The seafood linguini was my absolutely favorite but all the dishes were actually amazingly delicious! Made up for the lackluster bread haha. The red wine glaze on the veal was perfectly tangy and slightly sweet. The seafood on all the dishes were generous and tasted fresh. The portion sizes are large and great for sharing! Must have been an off night. Food simply wasn't up to past standards and what we were accustomed to. Food presentation was fairly sloppy. To add insult to injury, they add an automatic 20% service charge and then have a line for a tip on the check. Restaurant has become overpriced for what they deliver. I can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner! What a hidden gem. Unique and delicious dishes along with excellent service and pricing, they have everything going for them. I came with my family on a Sunday evening and we all enjoyed our meals. We started with lobster bisque and the grilled octopus salad which were both incredible. The main courses were all fantastic- seafood ravioli, Po le chicken, penne pasta bolognese, fish of the day special (amazing!!). I definitely recommend trying one of their daily specials! The waitress was very helpful and friendly. At the end of our meal she brought fruit and small cookies even though we didn't order dessert. Also, it's BYOB so remember to bring your bottle of choice! The most lovely staff, accommodating service, and yummy meal! I came in for dinner with my husband and newborn for dinner. My baby was extremely fussy so we had to leave early. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more understanding. They packed our food to go and even gave us complimentary dessert to try to smooth over our evening. Also, the food was delicious! What an amazing find, thanks to our neighbors. Has only been open about 6 months, chef was with San Marco and is now on his own. Wonderful meal and wonderful dining experience. Chef was friendly, personable, came out to greet each table and is clearly thankful for the word of mouth business! Comfortable upscale atmosphere, white table cloths, 12 tables, open view to kitchen. Service was exceptional and helpful, very knowledgeable and able to help with meaningful recommendations. Lobster bisque was full of generous pieces of lobster meat, clams casino bare no resemblance to old fashion breaded mush, they were fresh and tasty. Can't omit That the bread was crusty warm and delicious and the olive oil was light but flavorful. As it was our first (but definitely not last time) we tried the Veal Osso Bucco and the homemade Gnocchi with bolognese. All pastas are house made and the gnocchi was soft, silly and absolutely perfect. Osso Bucco was tender, flavorful and hearty. Chef has 30 years pastry experience and the tiramisu was fantastic!!! This is an amazing dining experience, hand crafted, delicious and special. We are so glad this a neighborhood place as we will be back!!! read more

What a great experience we had! From the beautiful family to the wonderful food! Everything was so delicious! The best clams casino ever! The gnocchi were so Light, so good! We had the fish special fluke w crabmeat that was so delicious ! The fillet melted in your mouth! Salmon, chicken Po Le and Veal Pizzazole were awesome too! We stumbled upon this place when one the other restaurants up the road was way too busy during the pandemic for us to feel safe. The outdoor seating was lovely but not quite as lovely as family who runs the place. They are very accommodating and have called us by our 1st names since we initially visited. The Oscar veal dish is phenomenal and that's just to start off how incredible this restaurant is. Vegetables cooked to perfection, well seasoned and oysters were fresh af. This was our first visit to this restaurant and we dined to another couple. The appetizers were very good,in fact, the mushroom soup as excellent. Our main courses were also good with the exception of one misstep. I had the Seafood Linguini and the shrimp were vert tough, like eating tires, however, all of the other seafood ( which there was plenty) was very good. The desserts were spectacular, however, the coffee was terrible. They may want to think about using a better coffee brand, like la Columbe. read more
