I have been to 40+ countries. I think it is a motel 6 with super fancy front desk and supercontinental/ pullman/ RC prices. With such price you could stay at a 5 star hotel with private beach in Lisboa, or a stunning snow mountain view in Mt. Zermatt in Switzerland with breakfast. Don't be trapped by their price, they will charge you $30 PLUS TAX ON THIS $30, for what？ For WIFI and 2 bottles of water! Pellegrino? No, Evian? No! Perrier? No way, 2 plastic bottles of Kroger water. And dont be faked by thier photos. I have traveled over 40 countries and I can definitely tell anyone that this motel 6 with fancy lobby is just ridiculous.. I also checked and saw that you guys keep telling the customers that you guys are upgrading. Hey, we are not investors, we won't get any profit or return when your hundred years of renovation project is done! You can charge whatever it is worth it when it is done, but NOW NOW! You can't show and charge customers a Prime class fillet mignon but then give us a choice class chuck beef! That's cheating!! We don't vaste about when your project is done! That's your owner and investors' issues!! Charge me $30 plus tax for wifi? And 2 plastics bottles of Kroger water wtf!!! don't apply the way you do business in any third way country on us! I've stayed here many times because they are dog friendly The rooms are decent. The sheets and bedding could use an upgrade. The poll is nice. The restaurant food I never tasted because I called in my order and when I went to pick it up they couldn't find it so I waited 20 minutes and no one took my order and they knew I was waiting and I went else where. They texted me prior to my arrival and asked if I needed anything and I said I would like a tea kettle in my room They never replied so I found one from home and brought that. Then they texted me again if I needed anything to text them. I requested utensils and a ceramic cup and no answer so I texted them back saying "why do you have this service when you don't answer the requests?" I stayed here years ago and had a fantastic experience, but this place has definitely gone downhill. This "resort" now looks and feels more like a motel than anything else. Outside doors facing sidewalks with screaming housekeepers and kids, this might as well be a Motel 6 with a nice lake and courtyard. The beds are hard as a rock, the shower faucet was leaky, and the room just looked so outdated. The great ending to it all was housekeeping banging on our door at 9am trying to get in to clean even though we had the shitty do not disturb sign in the key slot. Got a saccharine rich apology for it all during checkout. Would never recommend this place unless you're paying $400+ for one of their suites or if you're super desperate about bringing Fido along on your trip that you're willing to overlook quality. read more

We were able to visit this beautiful resort during the Covid quarantine. We went kayaking on the Verde River, wine tasting, and then stayed the night here. When we were there, there was only 15 guests total. The Manager was so nice and accommodating. Had so much fun relaxing in the pool, and enjoying the fire pit at night! Absolutely love this place & so grateful this beautiful resort stayed open through all this craziness! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Fire alarm went off multiple times in room next door. I tried calling the office on the hotel phone and only got a busy signal so I called on my cell phone. When I called the office and explained why I was calling, I was told by Ritchie, " just to let you know we are fully booked and it's after 10pm we won't be able to change your room" I never asked to change rooms and was calling out of concern. I replied to Richie that I was concerned because there was an also a faint odd smell and that the alarm continued to keep going on and then off again " Richie replied " just to let you know I can send a security guard but if they don't detect anything they can not enter the room" Again, I was only calling out of concern and not complaining. This response was not only uncalled for but also inappropriate and I did not appreciate Ritchie's tone. Hey Richie, how about addressing the concerns of the person staying at your hotel with valid concerns of either fire or a malfunctioning fire alarm. My husband went up to speak to the manager and Richie refused to call the manager, refused to give the number to my husband to call the manager and threatened to call the police. When my husband requested that Richie go ahead and call the police Richie then changed his mind and threatened to call security. He then, again, refused to call a manager or provide a number for my husband to call. My husband came back to the room and we will be addressing our issues with a manager first thing in the morning. You would think, someone hearing an alarm of some kind going off repeatedly late at night and calling the service desk to report it (what if there had been an issue and people in the adjoining room had been asleep) the only thing I should have been told was "thank you, we will check it out." read more

The clerk was very friendly upon check in, but half the place was being renovated and nothing at this "resort" was open. Prices should have been lower since none of the amenities were open. First things first, let's understand my perspective. I've worked in hospitality and hotels for about seven years; from housekeeping to admin to food service, I like to think I have a good grip on the runnings of a place like this. Let's start with the room: Me and my hubby came into the resort at 1pm, fully expecting to explore the small town nearby until the room would be ready at check-in: 4pm. Instead, we were greeted by a professional attendant that announced she had upgraded our cheap, hotels.com reservation at no cost to us. Whoa. Smooth, okay. She hands us a map and kindly outlines the way to the correct parking area and shows us the way to the restuarant before sending us on our merry way to find our room. It doesn't take long, because it's in a prime location, mere steps away from the lobby and restaurant. Nice. We carry our bags in and are greeted with a clean room, well orginized bathroom, a fireplace and a sweet little patio that leads out to the green. It's literal heaven. Now let's move on to the food. First day: Lunch It was a clear, perfect, if not windy, kind of afternoon where we decided to sit on the nearly empty patio. Service was fine, he was perfectly attentive, if not a conversationalist. Not an issue, I'm awkward in person, it's a style of service I lean toward. The food was fine. Nothing exactly special: the poki tuna BLT was good, except my own mistake of forgetting my hatred of anything horseradish, in this case, the wasabi sandwich dressing. My husband's philly cheese steak was philly cheese-dry. The sweet potaro fries though? a m a z i n g. Second day: Breakfast I feel like the worst person in the world when I walk into the restaurant the next morning, partially-rested, at about 10.45. Why? Because breakfast ends at 11. They, these wonderful, wonderful, people, let us order breakfast, and subsequently, the pancakes... Hello, my name is *redacted*, and I'm a pancake-holic. My husband goes for the breakfast burrito, and it's a hit! I didn't try it because I was too busy stuffing my face with three pancakes smothered in about a cup of maple syrup. Yes, I know, I should go to church and confess my maple-related sins. Noted. Our lovely, lovely server was Mario; a gentleman with the sweetest accent and 'thank you' s for days. Hands down the greatest. Keep it up, kid. Second day: Dinner I'm stoked. Me and the hub had seen filet mignon on the menu, and he was keen on it. Me? Let's just say pancakes aren't my only addiction. There was salmon on the menu, and I wasn't going to let it slip through my fingers. Our server was another lovely person, this time a young lady by the name of Modesty. She was sweet and helpful and attentive, answering our questions with a smile. I won't lie, the lentil soup was cold, the vegetables were overcooked and saturated in fat, and the filet was cold and undercooked and in desperate need of seasoning. But... BUT..! That salmon, oh my lord, that salmon was amazing. And funnily enough, the mashed potatoes were some of the best we've ever had.. I'm sitting in my room now, a little buzzed, writing this review to the sound of my hub watching terrible Facebook videos and feeling the last of my vacation ebb away, and, well, it was fantastic. This place looks wonderful online, but don't be deceived. The hotel is in a beautiful location, but is in dire need of updating. It feels a bit like walking into a Super 8 circa 1992. The ceilings are low and have popcorn; the balconies are definitely not safe for small children, the "spa" looks like it's in a strip mall and the coffee maker is a Keurig knock off. The restaurant is under construction but the food and service were good at lunch, but not so much for dinner. We expected more for a "resort" and were sadly disappointed. For the price, I'd stay in a chain hotel closer to the shops, this isn't worth the drive into town. read more

We had a great time at Poco Diablo! It's not perfect. It's a bit of an older establishment. But the grounds are gorgeous. We were in a room with a fireplace and a jacuzzi. We had a beautiful view of the expansive lawn and ponds. Sliding glass doors that opened up to the view and chairs to sit and enjoy it. It's not a Hilton, and if you're looking for that, then this isn't the place. But it's peaceful, conveniently located, and has a pool, jacuzzi, and restaurant. We really enjoyed it. read more

This was our second stay at Poco Diablo. The first was through Hotel Tonight and this time I booked through the Poco website (due to the Queen balcony suite option on the site). This stay was great, even better than last time. The rooms are very clean, with very comfortable beds. The facilities have a golf course, pool, hot tub, restaurant and bar area, outdoor fireplace and more. I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the room itself. I would definitely stay here again and recommend others to stay as well. One of my favorite things about Sedona! read more

First, always want to start with the positive feedback. Here goes, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Checking in simple, area has been updated and is pretty. Bar staff, exceptional, especially Taylor who was so precise and detailed procuring each cocktail. Dining area has been updated and pleasant. Food was so so- average. Monsoon hit and all outdoor customers were driven inside due to water leaking from roof unto their tables. Not good! Now here's what they need to do better: The room was very outdated, dark, lighting was awful, water stains on popcorn ceiling and wallpaper peeling on the wall. Tub was stained and shower trickled barely enough water to bathe. Tub didn't drain well either. No bedding change for 4 days. Only offered Towel service for the entire stay and trash was emptied daily. No hand or bath soap provided after day 1, Had to call and wait for delivery. Given what they charge I expected way more. All in all, had a great time in Sedona but wouldn't stay here next time we visit. read more

Stayed here for the weekend and was pleased with its proximity to major attractions and hikes. Staff was a mix of friendly and disinterested.the room was small and had poor ventilation. The whole place was decently kept but out dated. I liked that it had the option for golfing, tennis, exercise room, pool and jacuzzi. The food was also good. This was our second staycation here and we had a good time. The location and views are excellent. Our room was nice and clean. The only problem I noticed with the room was that there is a leak in the kitchen coming from the ceiling. Probably from the AC? The fireplace functioned properly. The resort does need to be updated as others have mentioned. They no longer have the small golf course which was a bummer. When we tried to go swimming they drained the pool and were in the process of refilling it.... There is a large and beautiful grass area with a pond. You can do yoga, play badminton, croquet, cornhole or just relax in the gazebo. read more

$500 a night....Let's all laugh together! Let me start this by saying we have stayed here 2 times...if i could give this "resort" less than 1 star I would. In 2019 my fiance and i flew down from Seattle to get married in Sedona with 13 of our friends. They gave our suite away to the wrong couple and gave us a standard room. Not the biggest deal in the world but was mildly annoying as i'm sure you can understand. Because of covid we waited until our 2 year anniversary to come back and celebrate. And this is where it all went down hill. First off i can not even begin to understand who's GENIUS idea it was to call this a resort... The golf course greens are eroding and unplayable, the pool looks like something out of a rob zombie movie and the towels are never restocked. Ive seen low end apartment complex pools in better condition. The rooms aren't horrible.... We called in advance to arrange for an early check in and were made to wait in the parking lot for 3 hours until a room was available... Upon our arrival we were met with dirty dishes from the guest the night before and left over wrapping paper inside the hotel room which made us question how well it was cleaned seeing as we are in the middle of a PANDEMIC... The hotel front desk staff lacks personality, professionalism, empathy and understanding. I understand why all the other hotels were sold out and we why were still able to book this one. We replaced our room keys 1-2 times per day over the course of our 3 night stay. The one redeeming quality of the entire stay was the "resort" restaurant staff! Seriously Mario was amazing! Even if you don't stay here, come have breakfast to experience this amazing human being! His attitude and kindness just started our day on the right foot every single day! To end the experience, we checked out, drove to palm springs, checked into the JW Marriott and the first words out of our 9yr old sons mouth were "ok this is a resort! That last place was NOT a resort" and it was his first vacation. Trust the words of a child, they are always blunt. read more

I just called to inquire about a possible hotel stay. The person that answered the phone told me that the best price she could give me was $976.02 for a three night stay. However, when I inquired about another promotional that was $930.58 with a $100 credit she was dumbfounded and said that 'yea, you can do that if you like'. My follow up question was... why would you tell me that this is the best price when their is a lower price. She then would not let me finish my sentence and rudely talked over me. The manager (she wouldn't tell me her name but the call was approximately 5:40 est on 8/08/23) then got on the phone and was also rude and hung up on me. I would caution anyone from staying at this location because if you ask any questions. Obviously they do not like if you ask questions but would prefer if you just opened your wallet and let them take whatever amount they deam acceptable. Based on other reviews and my experience, this seems to be typical behavior from this establishment. read more

For the price of this so called Resort charges, it is not worth it. It needs serious updating. Back in the 80s, it would have made five stars now, not so much. For example, the hand rails to get to the room are dry. I got a splinter on my hand. After an odd shower experience, I walked around barefoot, and the bottom of my feet became so dirty from walking around on the icky discusting carpet. The bathtub had an odd slope to it, which made for a dangerous slippery event. There was no microwave. Do not get me started on the restaurant. We ordered room service for breakfast. The whole order was cold, except the coffee carafe. The next day, we decided to walk to the restaurant and order the lobster roll for lunch. It had a strong fish smell, tasteless nothing close to resembling a roll. The make-up mirror they rant about was broken. One final odd process was that we were to leave our keys in the room and text the front office of our departure. It was our wedding anniversary trip. We are searching for another destination to do it over. We were disappointed at the very least. read more

Our stay was amazing in every way. We were visiting for a birthday and anniversary and we were very pampered. We received wine and champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries. We also received free breakfast!! The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. The room service was quick and the food was hot when delivered to us. The room was very spacious and clean. The fireplace was the perfect romantic touch and also helped keep the room extra cozy in the cold weather. Gorgeous views from the restaurant as well. The location is perfect. Nestled in a peaceful quiet part of Sedona, with gorgeous red rock formations all around. Lovely views and easy access to anything you want. Trailheads all around. Even with construction going on at the resort, it was no problem. No noise at night. Able to easily get some food and drinks at their lounge/restaurant. Food was amazing and Mario went above and beyond. In the lounge, Charles served up great drinks and helped us plan our next days activities. Super knowledgeable and helpful and kind staff, all around. Very impressed. Will definitely come back!! read more

The pictures online are deceiving to what the rooms actually look like. They are currently doing renovations so I tried to be flexible that the dining area and grounds are a bit less "resort like" than in the pictures. But the dark, stale rooms and the scratchy towels don't help. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice-only things worth a star. Our first night, I complained and asked for a different room (the room was in a dark corner and there was one window that opened to the parking lot). I was offered an ADA room that was in another dark corner that they claimed was an "upgrade" and would cost more a night. Basically, I've stayed in much nicer Best Westerns that were half the price. read more

TL;DR version: Decent rooms, nice view, TERRIBLE customer service. My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night (June 11th). To give Poco Diablo credit, their rooms are nice and comfortable. Nothing special, fairly standard. And they have a beautiful gazebo and picturesque surroundings. Now, for the not so great part: we were locked out of our hotel room. On our wedding night. The keys they gave us didn't work. We called the front desk and asked for help, but they said we had to come to the lobby. So my husband said "here's the thing, it's our wedding night, and we've got all our bags and they're heavy...we're really hoping someone can come here to help us". And they hung up on him!! So he ran to the lobby to sort it out. And there I was, sitting on the concrete floor outside our hotel room in my wedding dress, waiting with all our bags until he returned. And they didn't apologize at all. They even told him they wouldn't give him a new key at first, because the room wasn't in his name (it was in mine, but he had paid for it). Anyway, we did finally get it sorted out. And we were too happy to let it bother us much, because we had just gotten married and all. And at this point, it makes for a pretty good story. Still, I probably wouldn't ever go back there, nor would I recommend it to anyone who actually wants to sleep in the room they paid for. It was a pretty big disappointment for paying 300 dollars a night. Very outdated outside and in. They made sure to update the checkin area and bar/restaurant so you are thinking you are going to get a gorgeous room, too. Ha. Looks are deceiving. Our room was dingy, dated and had icky, stained carpet. The bathroom was gross, so dated and had the smallest, lowest toilet on the planet that didn't flush very well. The shower had an ickly, small, dated tub/shower curtain combo. The shower curtain was torn and, when taking a shower, was somehow attracted to your body and clung to you. Ewww. I reached for the shower wall bar, it was loose and pulling away from the wall. I tried to dry my hair and was treated to a crummy hair dryer that smoked and sparked. The furniture in the bedroom was scratched up and dilapidated. one torch like fixture was pulling away from the wall. I went to open the sliding door, only to be greeted to a dirty, ripped up screen and sliding door lock that was falling apart. The screen door was aluminum, a tell take sign of a very dated, 70s door. I went to close the drapes. It was hard to close them as they were ripping apart from the above track. On to the dining experience the next morning. We went down to the restaurant area. No complimentary coffee or nice water in a glass jar with lemon. You were forced to buy your coffee. We had a 25 dollar voucher for breakfast. Big deal. They didn't have a breakfast buffet. You could only order off the menu. The items were expensive. I had to pay extra because it was hard to get breakfast for the 25 dollar limit. My breakfast was horrible. The eggs were runny, the toast hard and blackened. The staff seemed sparse, overworked and not in a good mood. We went out for the day and returned fir a drink on the patio. Not many people there enjoying drinks. The sofa area we sat at was loaded with dirty dishes and drinks and food debris under the table in front of us. When we asked a server to please clear the table and maybe sweep under the table we were greeted with dirty looks and sighs. Mind you, no one else on the patio but us. The table should have been bussed before we even got there. The drinks were fine but the staff didn't seem enthusiastic or willing to wait on us. Awful experience. Later we went down below to the fire pit areas and asked to have the fire pit lit, if possible. A nice maintenance guy was having a hard time lighting it. He said our fire pit had a faulty starter. Yikes. I was afraid the thing would blow up. There was a stupid sign on the fire pit stating no food allowed. That made me mad so we ordered pizza and ate it in front of the fire. Ha Ha. Fooled you. We went up the handicapped ramp. It was loose and wobbly. Great way to keep your guests safe, especially your wheelchair patrons. We went back to out dated room. Next day was breakfast and checkout. We attempted breakfast again. My sister and I ordered their "to die for" lemon ricotta pancakes. They arrived brown and dry. I couldn't even slice through them with a knife. I took 3 bites. So, my second bad breakfast experience. oh, the hostess who seated us looked frazzled again today. She looked on the verge of a nervous breakdown again today. The first table we sat at was so wobbly we asked the server for another table. She complied. The frazzled hostess didn't seem to car that the table was broken. She just reset it not caring that it would happen again. My sister had been at the bar the night before with her daughter. They ordered a drink and appetizer. The bartender made their drinks then disappeared in the back to make their appetizer. Who does this? What a strange place, really. Checkin was so slow, too. We had to wait until after 4 pm. Probably not enough housekeeping staff. The only bright spot was the massages we booked at their spa. The ladies working there were wonderful, courteous and so friendly. They belong at one of Sedona's upscale resorts. All in all, I should have stayed someplace else. I felt like we were a bother to them. Most of the staff we encountered were put off, rude and disinterested in us and, frankly, even disinterested, themselves in being there. Maybe they should just tear the place down, rebuild it, get new employees and a more interested and engaged owner. This place has seen better days. Look elsewhere, friends. read more
