One of the nicest stays ever. This secluded yet accessible establishment allows you to drive short minutes to Sedona, Cottonwood or Clarkdale, and is highly enjoyable with its clean, well-appointed basics and welcome amenities - not to mention their welcoming and personable guest services staff. Whether for short or long stays, rooms are ample, clean with modern fridge, stoves, sinks, cabinets and eating utensils... comfortable beds, large windows and a good size balcony with table and chairs overlooking an immense patio offering gazebos, spa and multiple grills and seating area... not to mention a great firepit. Having opportunity to stay over many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, and not a professional hotel reviewer, and not a regular business traveler, as a primarily pleasure and requirements traveler, I have developed what I believe is a concise system for grading the worthiness of each establishment experience. I must say, this is one of my top places to stay. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.0 ]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score: 5.0 ]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 4.5 ]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 4.0 ]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 4.0 ]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 4.5 ]; Taking all the aforesaid categories in a measure of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 4.3 . Most positive point(s) at this hotel is/are: it's vicinity to Sedona, Cottonwood, Clarkdale and Jerome. And its comfort as mentioned before. And, if you have not pre-planned your visit, there's a concierge to help you out! Most negative points found here are: were really none. My price to value to overall assessment is terrific - we plan on returning!

And a large common room with a fully stocked kitchen with fresh eggs from the chickens on site. We were immediately greeted by the two sweetest dogs that would periodically check up on us and keep us company. They were so well behaved. Occasionally The cat would also visit. Our host were always available if needed, but allowed all the privacy we wanted. The view of the stars from the upper patio with fireplace and hot tub had to be my favorite experience. The cedar fire had such a pleasant fragrance, and the sounds of wildlife in the area and the views were unspeakable. Even though if feels like your out in the middle of nowhere, there are so many things nearby. I understand why there is a three day minimum stays, you will want to spend more time there to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. No tv is available and that was wonderful.

However, when we initially arrived, the young front desk agent with red hair appeared to be on a personal phone call. She ended the call by saying "I love you," which made it seem like it may have been a conversation with a friend. After the call she greeted us, but throughout the interaction she seemed unsure and a bit confused about the information she was giving. I would strongly suggest additional training on customer service and job knowledge to ensure guests feel welcomed and confident in the information they receive. Especially at a property where guests are paying around $1,000 a night, first impressions and professionalism are very important. Aside from that initial front desk experience, everything else about our stay was wonderful.

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. As others have noted, the hotel is right off a main road and there was some construction going on that started early, which I heard. But at night it was absolutely quiet and I slept well! Loved the decor -- the whole property is a fire pit-a-palooza, which I dug. I'm sure it's less expensive in the winter, but I would recommend going at least in the spring if not in summer. It was definitely chilly in my room even with the heat turned up -- there wasn't a heating a source in the bathroom so a bit of dashing around. I'll also say that having a smores making kit in my room was a real treat and lovely surprise! Overall a comfortable, chill experience -- I'd suggest requesting a room away from the front (I think the back section may also be where they house folks bringing pets with them).
