The most difficult part of going to New York City is the price of hotels. Even doing a ton of research and finding a gem like this won't save you too much in the long run, but if you're looking for something convenient, clean, and with everything you need, Pod is great. This is the Brooklyn location, and it was easy for me to walk to all the points of interest nearby. There are many shared areas including a mezzanine with free coffee and tea in the mornings, plus large outdoor courtyards and rooftop gardens. If you're here with a group, it's much easier to hang out in one of these areas as the rooms are tiny. As its name implies, the rooms are tiny, akin to a cruise ship cabin. They have different floor plans, I stayed in a queen bed room. It had just enough space for the bed, a tiny desk, sink, and combo toilet/shower. Everything was super clean. Soaps/shampoos included. The toilet being in the shower was no issue, just leave the seat up to dry while you're gone. Ice was brought to the room on request. Priced overall are very high but much cheaper than an expensive hotel or a crumby one in an unsafe area. If you're traveling alone or in a pair, this is a great option.

    A view from the rooftop.

Nice place. Very European style, almost hostel-like. For example, the toilet is in the shower stall. That doesn't bother me, but others might find it strange. Good quality build, comfy bed, and very small. I think our pop-up camper has more room in it :) Great common spaces, nice, acoustically sealed windows, and a friendly staff. My only complaint would be the 'free coffee' in the morning: this turned out to be a tired (single) Keurig machine being beat to death by a line of sleepy travellers. Truly horrible coffee. Just enough to get you going to get out and buy a real coffee somewhere nearby. Great rooftop and discounts at the scads of good local restaurants as well!

We actually had a great time here! YES it is tiny. There's no debating that. The room is probably less than 10x10 total. But it's more affordable than any other centrally located Brooklyn hotels in the area, and all we needed was a place to sleep at night - this spot accomplished that! SERVICE: We were greeted with extremely friendly service upon arrival! I'd recently changed my last name due to marriage and we'd booked on hotels.com, and neither were an issue for the team. I'd lost a room key during our stay and they replaced it without issue. When we asked for a refill of body soap and an iron, they were brought immediately. COMMUNAL SPACES: There are multiple communal spaces throughout - some seats in the lobby, a huge work remote space on the second floor, and a few garden/outside patio spaces throughout the levels for fresh air and great landscaping. AMENITIES: They offer free coffee in the mornings! They had a bar and lounge area onsite but we didn't use during our stay. ROOM: Okay YES it's small, but we were just there to sleep! We were traveling as two friends so it was actually nice to have two bunk beds. They had definitely maximized the space in the room - hooks on walls, storage shelves, etc. There is a TV on each bed. The shower is similar to those you find abroad where the toilet and shower are the same wetroom. Great option for affordable stay in the heart of a great location!

OMG - we have been in some small NYC hotels but this place sets the new record. If it was as big as 10' x 10' - I would be surprised. No place to put much of everything. Modern, "happening", and always booked. In a good part of Williamsburg. The real killer was the size of the shower including the toilet inside the shower. So after showering you had to dry off the toilet. No fridge or bottled water. Cost was $750 for 2 nights... We would pass next time.

We stayed at the pod hotel to attend a wedding over the weekend and LOVED IT! It's in a wonderful location with multiple restaurants, bars, bodegas and more! The actual hotel is comfy and clean with amenities to make your stay more comfortable! It's budget friendly compared to other hotels nearby and it's an amazing stay. If you park at the LM Driggs parking garage next door, the hotel discount is only $2.00 less than the normal rate.. something is better than nothing! Lol

Building is pretty clean throughout the stay. A friend and I stayed here and enjoyed every moment of it. The location is amazing and very homie friendly feel through the block. Many restaurants to try and so many thrift stores to check out. Closes station to the city is only a 5-10 min walk (Bedford Av. station). The room was clean and kinda cool with the bunk beds lol. The bathroom is a bit different than some other hotels but it was functional and served its purpose. There is a grocery store next door filled with late night snacks or drinks since there wasn't vending machines at the Pod. Overall, I plan on coming back to this hotel in future because of the amazing staff and the neighborhood the hotel is located.

For the first half of our trip to NY, my husband and I wanted to stay in Brooklyn, and we chose the Pod BK Hotel because it was on the cheaper side, although at nearly $200 US a night, it wasn't THAT cheap -- it was just less expensive than other hotels and not totally gross or in a terrible area. Like Citizen M it was a micro hotel (the toilet was actually in the shower stall, but at least they set it up so that the toilet paper didn't get wet), however there was working air conditioning (I even got cold a few times!).  Also, it was surprisingly quiet despite there being bars within the hotel*, and the only major annoyance was the flashing light in the smoke detector.  (WTF is up with flashing lights?!  Seriously, I think the ONLY hotel I have stayed in since I started Yelping that had ideal sleeping conditions -- dark, quiet, cool -- was the Victoria Motor Inn at Niagara Falls.) We were on the top floor, and our room was near the door that lead to a rooftop patio.  In order to access the rooftop, you had to scan your room card, but I noted that you also had to scan your card to get back IN to the hotel, which I found odd.  I made a comment to my husband about how requiring people to scan their card to get back in to the hotel is asking for trouble should someone lose or drop their card off the rooftop -- the scanner was located near the guardrail and it would be extremely easy to drop the card off the roof as you are trying to scan it.  I'm sure you can see where this is going... One night, around 1am, I was woken up by banging.  I was annoyed at being woken up, but after a few minutes I realized that someone must be locked out on the roof!  My husband threw on some clothes and rushed to the rooftop and found an older man locked out of the hotel.  He did have his card, but at that time of night the patio is closed to guests (there was a small sign saying the patio closes at midnight), yet the scanner to get OUT to the patio was still working.  Instead, it was the scanner to get back IN that was disabled!  (See, I knew that having to scan to get back in would be trouble.)  I don't know how long the guy had been stuck on the roof, but thank goodness we heard him! Overall the hotel was alright, as it was clean and quiet and that's really all I need, but it's not so cheap that I would stay there again for an extended stay unless there are no other affordable options. *There was a pub on the ground floor (which sucked), and apparently there was a rooftop bar, but it was on the rooftop of the other half of the hotel and we didn't see it :( [Yelp collections: East Coast 2022; NY Summer 2022; Hotels]

We reserved this hotel based on its relatively low price and relatively high ratings. But we were initially disappointed because our room (queen pod) felt very cramped when we first entered the room. Eventually, however, we figured out that the space under the bed is cleverly designed to put for two small suitcases (e.g., 22" or below) underneath, that the small sink area has space to hold our most frequently used toiletries (e.g., tooth brush, toothpaste, facial cleanser, soap, and dental retainer) and hang all our towels, and that even the stool has a middle layer to hide our shoes. In addition, there is ample public space on each floor for people to work on their computers (particularly the 2nd floor) and relax (e.g., the rooftop garden and garden outside the 2nd floor). The TV set is quite small, but it has capabilities for Wi-Fi connections to your own device (i.e., computer or smartphone), and there are ports on the wall for an HDMI connection as well. Even though the shower and toilet share the same space, the fan seemed to have a humidity gauge that would keep it on for drying the space after someone taking a shower. So, we wouldn't mind staying here again.

You get what is expected in the name - a pod big enough for a couple to sleep in. The toilet is inside of the shower, small space that's not enough for any activity except sleeping, but I'm not here to hang out in my room. We were on the second floor, couldn't hear a thing from the street. The AC provides a little bit of white noise, and there are USB ports everywhere. The room shutters kept the lights out and checkout is at noon. Solid choice!

Flew in from Los Angeles and stayed here for 1 night before I went to my other hotels in manhattan... wasn't expecting much and you shouldn't either if you are booking here. It's very affordable and a very clean capsule hotel. It's located in Williamsburg Brooklyn which I quickly learned to be a quaint hipster area. It was a good location to visit nearby downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Bridge park. They serve coffee in the morning and that's just about the end of the amenities. If Clean, Affordable and Location is what you need, book here!!

Location - 5 Customer service - 5 Cleanliness - 5 Parking - there is a parking garage around the corner, not free, validate ticket for parking discount. Comfortability - 5 I made one night reservation for a 12hr layover in the NYC area. The reservation process was easy to do online. The pods are small but they have everything that 2 people would need. It's in the Brooklyn area so there is plenty of bars and food options within walking distance. The neighborhood is very safe for any solo travelers. Very clean, comfy beds, each bed has its own TV, spa shower heads, thick bright white towels. everything you need for a quick stay!

A rude woman who did little to correct her mistake. Now I'm wet. I went to the bar to ask if they'd replace the drink. The bartender immediately said "no go ask the manager." Well alrighty! I find the manager and he proceeds to re-explain the situation as "so you want us to buy you a drink? It's not our fault or responsibility." We're adults. I never placed blame. A peculiar thing to say considering I just bought the drink and I'm in your establishment. Felt pretty short tbh. Not sure why I was expecting a different tone. He eventually just offers me a shot. I don't particularly like shots so I kindly slid the remainder of the spilled drink and declined the shot, suggesting that Managment show the next customer a little more grace and respect in tone. Obviously an establishment isn't responsible for spilled drinks and don't have to be kind at all. I get that. But I guess that's what separates a great establishment from a mediocre one just selling drinks and not an experience. Good luck to them.

We stayed in a room with a window facing an extremely busy intersection, with honking going on all day and into the night, but thankfully, the windows were thick enough to block out most of the noise. The AC sound also helped drown it out. The room and restroom also felt spacious for what you get in NY. There was daily breakfast, which was your typical hotel breakfast with a variety of options that changed daily. It's about a one-mile walk to get to DUMBO, which wasn't bad at all, even when we had to do it in the rain. The subway is about a 10 minute walk, and there are two corner stores down the street. I stayed in this hotel for two nights, May 19th and May 20th of 2026. What I encountered should NEVER be allowed in the hospitality industry. Immediately when you walk in to check in, you are met with the staff members behind bullet proof glass. The girl who works in the daytime has a very hard to hear voice and shows 0 emotion. The pictures show the front is decorated which is NOT the case any longer - it's just dirty and deteriorating. The lobby is out of order - chairs everywhere, the bar wasn't open the entire time we were there, and they tour down the TV that was once there. The elevator is deteriorating like the rest of the building, and you can hear it each way up and down. My partner and I walked into the room, which at first appearance looked nice. Once you sat down and looked around, things just became more unhinged by the moment. - DUST covered everything. - The floor was nasty and had dirt, scraps of food wrappers, and food crumbs everywhere. It was clear the floor had not been vacuumed in days. - The hallway was also covered in grime, and had an added stickiness to it which you felt each time you took a step forward. - The large door to the bathroom was off its hinges so it could no longer slide shut. - The shower had visible black mold. Only a few of the water spouts had water come out. The rest were either clogged or just didn't work any longer. - Paint was pealing on the wall. - The couch in the room was covered with a cheap, ripped, couch cover that had stains on it. - Visible cigarette burns showed in various areas of the room. - They only gave us one pillow and one towel. I had specifically booked the hotel for two guests. We used the hotel to quickly get ready for the rest of our night, and asked the man working at the front desk to bring up a few pillows and towels, as we explained we only had one of each. When we returned, they had brought two towels up to the room, but no pillows. My partner went downstairs to ask the man once again for pillows. He told us they would be right up. 15 minutes passed and nothing. We called again and he said the same thing - they would be right up. Another 15 minutes - nothing. I called once more, and said we needed them because we wanted to go to bed soon - I was clear my partner did not have any pillows to use as we only had one supplied to us. I was told they would be right up - they never came. When we left the next day, I was very straightforward with the girl working at the front and let her know it's unacceptable that my partner had to sleep on a "decorative" pillow from the touch which smelled. She told me they would be right up - but I told her they already said that to us -she needed to make it a top priority for us as we've asked many times. Not one apology was given for their lack of service. Fortunately, when we came back they had given us two pillows however, both of them stunk and were stained. When we woke up the next day, we realized the sheets had moved around a bit while we were sleeping, and my partner slept on a giant brown stain that could have been anything. NEVER staying here again - I hope they shut this place down soon what a joke.

Customer service from the front desk and staff THROUGHOUT the stay was abysmal and horrendous. Half the time you couldn't even find someone AT the front desk to help you out with anything, and when they were there, they literally would drag their feet or pretend to do something when they actually weren't! Anytime I requested or asked for something, I would be told it's 'done' and that I'm 'good to go', but inevitably I would find out that NOTHING had actually been done!! This led to me also receiving very rude interactions with the housekeeping managers, who would act like I was in the room without permission due to the lack of communication between any of the staff here regarding my check-out times and other such issues. As for the hotel itself, it clearly is not being properly maintained, and things are grimy, dented, and nasty throughout the rooms and halls. The door handle for my first room literally BROKE, and doors throughout the building all have half broken, drooping door handles...scuffs, marks, and broken bits EVERYWHERE. It shouldn't be that hard to maintain a relatively new hotel if there was an effort AT ALL put into it, but the staff/management here clearly DOES. NOT. CARE. AT ALL. OH - and watch out for scams here when it comes to charges they'll put on your card!! They created a second folio and had multiple duplicate charges for the SAME room and the SAME nights, and have refused to remove them!! We take the Subway everywhere we can when we visit, so we were happy. This is a great location! There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood and the people are so friendly. There are lots of fun locally owned shops which we enjoyed as well. If you don't mind the walk, you can head to the shops next to the Barclay center which have Target and Marshalls and other shops but those are the only two we were interested in at this time. You can take the Subway over there, but we like to walk as much as possible when in NY. In the hotel there is a washer and dryer which cost $6 a load. The hotel sells laundry soap in the little lobby market. The complimentary breakfast is just like the regular Marriott breakfast for a TownePlace. Eggs, bacon/sausage, oatmeal, bagels/muffins, yogurt, dry cereal, coffee. Not much fresh fruit at this location. We checked in and checked out without any issues. Our room was spacious and clean. Great view to watch people shoveling snow and watch the snow fall. Big windows to let in the sunshine when the snow stopped. We will definitely be back in 2027!

However, after Christmas, December 26th, I called around 1PM to have our room cleaned. The front desk confirmed, we left and returned at 7pm, the room has not yet been cleaned and the trash bins are full for both the bathroom and kitchen. I was informed by the front desk that they do not have housekeeping and will schedule the room for cleaning tomorrow. I said, but our trash is full. They can't do anything about it. I went downstairs with 2 bags of trash and offer to throw the trash away and was told they can't throw them away and to just leave the garbage in the hallway, outside the room. How can a place like this not have a housekeeping available, it's only 7pm. How about offer to get the trash at least? Am I at Marriott?
