Completely took advantage of my girlfriend... the reservation was for two hours two movers for a move out. They showed up two hours late. They brought four people and said they would move everything out in one hour instead of two since they have double the people. But after the first hour they called her while still in control of her elevator and truck keys asking for another hour and double the pay while she waited alone upstairs for 25 min with no choice. They had already arrived 2 hours late probably due to failure of scheduling and she still has seven hours of driving ahead of her. She was charged double for no reason just because they brought two extra people. What is a girl supposed to say when she's alone in her apartment, with 4 dudes demanding another $300? We bought 3 hours and their employees left after 1.5 hours. When I said we need additional help and the job was not complete, and I needed additional help. They said call the company for a refund and one worker who was still helping with moving tasks was told by the other worker to stop what he was doing and they had to leave to the next job. Instead of offering a refund I received over 10 charges then credits on my credit card and charged again $430.00. The owner Peter resorted to filing a police report and repeatedly kept asking for my credit card number calling me 2x for the card number. Payment in excess of full (plus $6.00) was given without refunding the hour that was not used. The owner attached a pre-lien notice to an email. He threatened libel for a negative review and even contacted my place of business. IN MY OPINION THIS IS VERY POOR AND BAD BUSINESS tactics. read more

* UPDATE* POG Moving & Helpers BEWARE!!!! We had a move scheduled with them on 01/16/24 and they ended up canceling our move after not showing up in the window of time that we were scheduled. They were going to be 2 hours late and then after being questioned they cancelled us. The owner will totally lie and try and turn this around onto the customer and use terms like God Bless You! Do not be fooled. If you have any trouble they will lie to get out of it. Just found out today that they tried to reschedule our move which we didn't need anymore to 05/11/25 hoping we wouldn't catch it and be charged. I have reported them to U-Haul and will be sending copies of the screenshots from their moving crew that was supposed to show up but never did. We were able to cancel the move. U-Haul said that if we wouldn't have caught it the moving company could have been paid after a certain time. Nice try POG! We had a scheduled move with this company to unload a truck. The movers called early in the morning to ask if they could come early. Our truck hadn't been delivered yet so we needed them to come at the appointed window from 12-2. At 2 PM they contacted us and said they were an hour and a half away from us after we waited for them all day. When we complained and said it would effect their review they completely cancelled us and left us in a bad situation. Then they began to lie and say we threatened their employees livelihood. Movers beware. Hired on 5/27/25 for elderly parents. They did not use any packing material to protect furniture or blankets to cushion while driving truck. As a result, three pieces of furniture were damaged, and mattress was covered with dirt from inside the moving truck. Movers also disappeared for an hour saying that they got lost and full six hours was not used that was already paid for. They did not respond other than to say that they would do nothing since the insurance was not paid for. This is not a professional moving company. I chose this company because of the 5-star reviews on Google. Speaking with the office to arrange the move also impressed me. The two people who arrived to move me from one apartment to another in a small apartment building with an elevator could not have been more of a surprise. They literally were two bumbling goofballs. I have moved several times in my life with not a bad experience. These movers didn't even have tools to take apart the furniture and needed to use my tools! They used a large gondola box to move the furniture. Instead of moving boxes with a dolly, they lifted the boxes up and into a large gondola box. Even large pieces of furniture were lifted up and into the gondola box instead of moving with a dolly. One of the movers acted like it was his first day and he didn't care if he had a second day of work. He was dressed in baggy shorts that were falling off so he had to use one hand to hold up his shorts while trying to move boxes, etc. He checked his phone every few minutes. I started moving things myself because it was too upsetting to watch them. A neighbor saw me moving and asked why I didn't have the two men moving the stuff. I told her that I was trying, but it wasn't working. Honestly, I couldn't wait for them to finish and leave. My furniture was damaged -- broken post on the mirror for the dresser, veneer broken off on the dresser and bent shelving. I didn't want to write a bad review and waited a month to do so. I hope this saves someone else from the unpleasant experience and damaged furniture. I left a review on Google and received a nasty response of denial from the company. They asked why I didn't call to complain. Somehow I knew this was not a legitimate professional mover and calling to complain would have added to my bad experience and that is why I didn't call. That I would have to pay for a third hour to cover their cost of gasoline. Don't waste your time with these clowns. They claim that my order was a *fraudulent* order, which is their attempt to get this review removed. I have receipts from UHaul that I had paid for the services. Nothing is fraudulent about me. They think my offer of a generous amount of cash to pay for gasoline to their next location is "fraud." Edit: The Owner called me "to stupid" in response to my hire a helper.com review so you now get one star sir for not using correct grammar when insulting intelligence. SHAME. TLDR: Do not use this company. Do not use Hire a Helper ! BIG mistake to ever trust this company with any sort of scheduled move/renovation. We will start from the top! The movers were late. I paid through hireahelper.com. Was scheduled to arrive between 6am-7am. Got here at 8am. Worked for about 2hrs before my contractors arrived to remove my flooring. I paid for 4 based on HAH estimate tool. Even when your company was late, I was nothing but respectful over the phone in explaining why time was of an essence. If no furniture is moved, my renovation cannot start. They damaged a wall in my hallway, but it was no big deal cause I'm gonna have the walls repainted anyways. Told the movers not to worry about it. Prior to the movers leaving, I asked about the unused 2 hrs of time. They explained to call Hah, and they'll handle any refunds. So I did! I asked for a refund of my two hours from HaH and was refused. HaH told me it was up to POG. I didn't believe HAH because the movers explained that I needed to deal with HAH for billing and payment, so obviously the conversation between me and HAH got heated, as OF COURSE, I'm going to trust the business instead of a third party!! HAH explained POG only allows one hour of refunds and pointed out the contract terms on refunds. Wish the movers explained the refund policy to me when I asked about the unused time instead of saying to simply call Hire aHelper. I'd have them work for an additional hour moving other items downstairs. ESPECIALLY Since I had hired them for two more additional jobs. I guess it's an easy way for the owner to make a buck, They seem desperate to be honest. Just look at the owners responses to other negative reviews.... If I was a desperate unethical business owner I too would tell my workers to tell customers to call HAH if there was unused time, knowing they couldn't get that back. I even asked if I can transfer that unused time to any of the other two dates. No go. HAH explained to me that POG refused to budge and explained it was POGs policy. I want to clarify again that not once did I call POG about this refund request . This conversation was between myself and HaH. A third party not affiliated with POG. I understand ultimately I signed the fine print and failed to read it and it wasn't POG that did the billing. HAH provided a $25.00 discount. Better than nothing. Issue was resolved in my mind. And they did a pretty good job moving the furniture I needed moved in two hours. So I kept the other two requests. As stated, I hired this company for a total of three jobs that I planned prior to this renovation starting. I had about 3-4 requests from POG to change to the time of the second job to Monday morning instead of Sunday evening. Which at the time would not work. I needed my office furniture ready on Monday morning. Not Monday afternoon. Contractors told me that my office would be ready to Move furniture back in Sunday evening. So I declined each change of time request. Ultimately I had to cancel the second job as the contractors failed to get done in time with the office. I was fine paying the cancellation fee. Totally understandable. Didn't complain. I called POG the night before and left a message so they were aware and called HAH in the morning to make sure again POG was aware of the second job being cancelled. I kept the third job request for three hours in tact. I got a call this morning that. Per, Hire a Helper POG cancelled the third job because I had asked for the refund of two hours on the first one. I guess it made the owner mad that I didn't want to pay 800 for a move that should only been about 400? And that I pushed HAH to resolve the refund issue. The owner was essentially upset that I didn't bend over willingly and just take the $400.00 loss. I also want to clarify, as I know the owner likes to post yawn-prone responses., that not once did I talk about the refund directly with your company. That request and conversation was between myself and HAH. So since the owner cancelled the follow up appointment, I called as I needed to find my furniture screws to put together the furniture they disassembled. I was told "I usually put them in a plastic baggy near where the furniture is stored". But he couldn't tell me exactly where. I've looked everywhere and they are missing. So part of my furniture remains disassembled until I buy new various screws. Do not trust this company. Do not use Hire a Helper. HOWEVER Highly recommend Arizona Moving Specialists. They bring their own tools and are extremely professional and only charge by the hour. AND they are on time!!! They accept jobs at the last minute and work with your schedule. No deposit required. I would recommend that everyone AVOID using POG moving & helpers unless you want to be lied to, stole from, improperly billed and threatened to have our property liened unless we paid them double of what we received in a written quote along with multiple texts verifying exactly what services they would perform and all costs associated with it. 1st red flag was that we had to pay half of the $2,500 prior to them even showing up at our house. Then they arrived 4hrs late to pick up our furniture and did not come with any tools to disassemble the pool table we were having them take apart, load and move. They borrowed our brand new DeWalt drill w/battery packs and kept it, promising to bring it back to our house for 2 days and then promising to ship it to us which never occurred. I verified they would have help to load the pool table and also help to unload. They brought help to load but only had 1 guy to drop off a pool table at the site of delivery. I had to then arrange and pay for help to unload the pool table. POG movers are REFUSING to reimburse us for the DeWalt Drill they took and refuse to lower the price for not having any help to unload the pool table. They quoted us in writing a total of $2,500 and we paid them $1,250 as a deposit and now they want $2,500 more for a total of $3250.00 . When I requested that they deduct $300 for the cost of our Dewalt Drill and reduce the price for not having 2 movers to unload the truck as promised- they instead sent me threats to file a lien against are home. They communicated VERY WELL with me and after negotiation that I agreed to, they met EVERYTHING they said they would. They showed up EARLY on a Sunday and saved my butt. Read my review below. They moved FAST but carefully and got all my junk into that truck along with some special loading instructions (some heavy items needed to be at the back so I could drop them off on the way to my final destination). They did it all FAST, Professional, dependable....and careful. They were honestly amazing and I couldn't be more happy. Finished EARLY even! I couldn't be happier and I will look to them to help my other family members when they move. It's also worth noting that other movers were not able to come out on the weekend, I had already taken off work and arranged the truck, so this was CRITICAL that someone reliable came on a Sunday morning. I'm so happy I didn't pick someone else. But wait, there's MORE to say! Their communication before the job was EXCELLENT right up to the moment of the job. All of this would have been avoided if my movers would have arrived on time. Honest Review! I used this company yesterday. I did a short distance move ...less than 20 miles. My estimated arrivals time to begin my move was between 12PM-2PM. They were over 1.5 hour late due to some inconveniences on their part (Didn't communicate this until around 3PM so I was waiting over 1 hour just to be notified of tardiness) I found it was hard to communicate w/ the office sometimes. I literally called for 15 minutes straight at one time. They did text me letting me know "Our apologies, we are on the other line, please see the automated message just sent for your crew lead's phone number" The move was GREAT though. Yes they were late. Yes communication lacked but they 110% got the job complete quickly & efficiently. They explained it had been a rough day & I was the last job of the day. We all have our days inside & outside of work so I'm very understanding of this. I do appreciate that regardless of the challenges they had faced earlier today at work...they ALL had a great attitudes & were ready to move in 90+ degree weather :) I felt that the movers were experience. I seen some reviews stating other wise but I had TJ as a Crew Lead & his team did great. Overall, it was a good experience. There was mishaps but we all make/have mishaps. TL,DR: we hired these movers for a local move, their high-as-a-kite movers damaged our items during the loading phase and they refuse to take responsibility. We hired POG movers to assist with a local move from North Phoenix to North Peoria (~20 min away). The helpers were hired for four hours to help load and unload only. Off the bat the experience was poor as we hired them via uhaul's moving helper website for the "morning" of our move. Apparently they get to dictate which time "morning" actually means and you as the customer don't have a say. They were set to arrive between 7-8am, when I called to push it back a bit I was told they have other jobs after mine and it wouldn't be possible...but I could ask the guys to get there closer to 8am. Okay, great, we'll roll with that. Movers were supposed to arrive at 8am--instead they arrive around 9am. The two guys that showed up were high as a kite and reeked of weed. During the load process, the movers had access to many moving pads and shrink wrap to protect items, but only chose to use it on certain things. For example, our bed set was wrapped very tight, but our leather sofa and dining room table had little to no wrap at all. As a result, during the load process our dining room table was damaged as it was dropped and slid across the metal floor, and our leather sofa had the same fate. No big deal, we purchased moving load/unload insurance through U-Haul. Or so I thought. This company is so difficult to not just get a hold of, but to work with at all. Claims were denied because the movers "said they didn't do it" and because I didn't have "video evidence" nothing could be done. So note to self, wear your body cameras when hiring this company because their stoned movers will damage your property and plead the fifth. Now, a month after my move, the company is combative and difficult to work with. They've stopped returning calls (three calls with voicemails left went unanswered) and take days to respond to anything through uhaul's moving help website. Unfortunately, I have to share my terrible experience with this company. The sad part is I have used them over 8 separate times since 2015 to move myself and my son/ We never had too many issues with the moving crew before but this time, they had Cavin and Markus load the UHAUL for me. I have a custom made china cabinet that was my Mom's. I told them how precious it is to me and that it was the only item I cared most about. I specifically told them I wanted it wrapped up. They used up my 12 blankets from the UHAUL rental, so I gave them a king sized comforter and a blanket to use. Instead, they put the china hutch directly on top of the base cabinet and refused to use the blanket or comforter, they argued with me and said it would be fine, it won't shift, etc. The base cabinet never had a single scratch on it until we got to my new location, and when the movers unloaded it, they pointed out all of the damage done to the top of the cabinet. It has multiple scratches due to shifting on the truck with no protection. When I notified P.O.G. Movers, they refused to accept any responsibility for it, they even accused me of filing a fraudulent claim, calling it wear and tear. I told them exactly what happened, they told me it is my fault as I signed the contract, etc. I got a quote to sand and re-stain the surface for $150, I asked them to discount my total invoice because now I have to incur the cost for repairs. They rejected my request, I repeatedly demanded to speak to the owner and I wanted their liability insurance company name and policy number, to file a claim and they refused to give it to me. This company does not value a customer who has used them so many times, I have referred customers to them and they refuse to compensate me for their 100% pure negligence. My advice is to run as fast as you can from this company. I am so disgusted by their lack of caring, they are unethical and unprofessional. They claimed that I did not provide the blankets, they claimed that they did not stack the two pieces on top of each other claiming the china cabinet is too tall for the truck. It is 6.5" tall, the height inside the UHAUL truck is 7 feet. I saw the pieces inside the truck stacked without protection, I was upset but they had already loaded the truck up and it was too late to make them undo everything. Markus and Cavin took photos of the loaded truck, which would prove I am the one telling the truth, I demanded to see the photos and they refused to share them because they know I am right but do not want to accept any responsibility. read more

I am not sure why this company doesn't have a solid 5 stars. So what had happened was I was moving out of state and had a zippy shell come to my house so I could pack it up and the prices of that were very cheap. The cage would be wrapped and sealed and kept in a locked storage facility for years. Well what do you know but that company went out of business in a few states not all of the states. These idiots from zippy shell send me an email saying you need to get your stuff out of the storage location within 7 days!!! I'm like no I'm out of the country military there's no way I can be there to get my stuff out. POG offered to take over all customers in similar situations from zippy shell and they were fantastic. They kept the same monthly price. So now I am ready to get my stuff out and the cage was still sealed shut wrapped and nothing was broken no dust I mean perfect condition. The owner was super helpful with letting us get access to get our stuff. He was very helpful. If it wasn't for them taking over I would be completely screwed. One of the employees even helped us pick up some heavy items and load them into our rental truck. Top notch service. I would trust my stuff here any day. Thank you!!!!! read more

WARNING! They crew of young men that were assigned to my move were friendly and nice but definitely not professional. They basically could care less about the QUALITY of my belongings. Several boxes were stacked on their side - including those that were clearly marked as FRAGILE. One box of toiletries was brought into my brand new house that was crushed from being on its side, with liquid spilling out of it. Turns out the baby oil bottle was crushed but they continued to carry it into my house, over my brand new pavers! They also did not properly cover/wrap my formal dining room table and scratched it with the boxes that were stacked on top of it during transit. I reached out to the owner, Lacy, and she could care even less. Her response was "file a Homeowners claim". She has yet to reply to my follow up email with the pics that I sent. read more

We went through Hire-a-helper, they quoted 5 hours for a 20ft/10ft uhual truck. Since they are the "Professionals who know their trade" we trusted them. POG finished in 1.5 hours and has a policy of only returning one hour of unused time. Have since then been playing phone tag with Hire a Helper and POG moving, each blame each other (after reading reviews from google and yelp, it seems like this happens frequently). Edit: I find it interesting that the owner puts more time into writing reviews than on his business policies and advertisement. He has to go through other businesses and then blames them whenever backlash comes through about his company. Embarrassing. I was talking with your employees (who were great) and they told me how much you pay them, comparing that to your excuse from other replies doesn't makes sense "2 hours compared to 8 hour shift..." seems like you're pocketing a lot of the money which after reading your replies I can believe. read more

Jack G of POG Moving and Helpers. I don't understand what you wrote. Some doesn't make sense and some isn't close to being the truth. "IN DEFUALT (sic) PAYMENT DEBTOR"? You know full well your men would not let me pay for the day until the damages were taken care of. Every other loading and unloading days were fully paid. I called in about 1:30 for the status of their arrival and was told my guys would be there by 2:00. They got there about 3:00. In the past, they arrived at the scheduled time. Second, I never told them how to load the items. That was all up to Dave ("I'm the best"). I had moving blankets, shrinkwrap, paper wrapping, ropes and blankets. I had things protected as best as I could. I had everything packed in boxes and ready to load. What was my "lack of prepareness (sic) or knowledge"? AGAIN. I NEVER TOLD ANYONE HOW TO LOAD THE ITEMS. DON'T PUT THAT ON ME. When the first pod came, Dave showed me the places for tie-downs. I was never asked to supply or pay for ropes to tie down items so things wouldn't shift. Had I known things would not be tied down, I certainly would have paid for the ropes. I left the loading to Dave. He never asked if I wanted things to be tied down so they wouldn't shift. You're right. I used a Cool Box. I wasn't aware you had your own storage containers. I thought your people just loaded. And you were going to discuss with Cool Box how they handled the pods. However, it doesn't matter what container I used, if the items were not loaded properly or secured, they will shift. Yes, I'm in Colorado at a wedding. I didn't need the stress of the guys being late and the damage. But you also said it's the end of the month and the beginning of the month, and nothing would happen for weeks. I know it will take time. But as for the 10' desk, I specifically requested, more than once, that 4 men and two dollies were needed so the top of the desk would not snap. Dave can verify that fact. According to your guys (who by the way worked diligently and as carefully as they could), apparently someone at your office decided that wasn't necessary. In this case, the customer knew best. We're by no means done. If you want a 5 star review, fix the problems, and stop being so unprofessional because I gave you a bad review. I noted several of your remarks were not truthful ... in fact, made up. When I read other bad reviews, I tend to think you also made up "facts". Hey Jack G of POG Moving n Helpers, Nice response numnutz! Really professional! I contracted your services thru Hire A Helper. On there site, I scheduled service from 10AM -12 pm which was what I contracted your services for. You response is filled with lies and untruths! I'm moving from New Jersey and someone called me at 7:30-8:00 pm last night confirming they would be there at 10 am or as close as possible. You may have 2 hour window but when sub contracted thru Hire a helper i chose my service from 10 Am-12pm. For your Representitive to make a comment that your like the cable company and can show up when you are available is totally unprofessional! If you can't comprehend why A customer would be irate then maybe you should change professions! Your first person hung up on me and your second represents shouted at me and called me an asshole which i had him on speaker for everyone to hear! Another comment your rep made which shows the unprofessionalism of your company is the fact that Tim your rep said they prioritize the jobs that take longer and pay more? They never showed up. How do you even review that? I called, emailed, talked to someone in person three times during the day. All was good. We were driving a UHAUL for 10 HOURS from SALT LAKE CITY to TEMPA, AZ, let me repeat -- a 10-hour drive. I wanted to keep this company up to date in case there was a delay or problem. Instead, I let them know we were an hour ahead and all was good! We were an hour ahead of schedule. I let the company know this. If they still came in the pre-assigned time, no problem. BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!! NOT EARLY, NOT LATE. NOT EVER. We unloaded our own UHAUL and would not have paid for someone if not for shoulder surgery scheduled for tomorrow for my husband, who drove the damn truck, me recovering from knee surgery a few months ago. My Goodness! What did they charge us for? I want a refund for my deposit. I moved from California to Arizona last July and I have to say that POG saved my life! When I drove my UHaul to my new house I had already hired movers. Long story short the movers I hired ended up being a disaster and here I was at my house with a 26 foot UHaul and nobody to help me move in. I called POG and they came to the rescue getting me two guys within a few hours. I was able to get all my items moved in an efficient and careful manner. I'm getting ready to move into a new home so I naturally looked at POG and I was really surprised at the reviews but more so by the responses of the owner. I'm sad to say that I won't be using POG for that reason. Even though you have disgruntled and in some cases unfair customers, you should never respond that way. I hope that changes because I had a great experience with them but this is not how to run a business. read more

They called me the day of to confirm the time they'd be arriving, when they arrived they gave me an overview of what they could do and the timeline they'd do it in. John and Elijah were professional and courteous, they handled my belongings with care and there was absolutely no damage to anything. BUYER BEWARE Tim, the owner is a hot head, dishonest and will screw you over. My family and I used this company for a out of state move and it was a terrible experience. The truck was 3 days late, the workers transferred our belongings several times between different truck. Several items were missing and damaged. Our items were rummaged through and valuables are now gone. Per one of Tim's employees, it is normal for customers property to be taken to Tim's garage and to be reorganize. After the reorganization often items end up missing. Even after all of his companies failures, Tim will never admit wrong doing or try to make things right with the customer. We booked this company through U-Haul and Moving Help. They initially charged me double ($211 vs $105) for dropping off a U-Box and helping load our items. We spoke to Tim at POG and he said it was probably just a "shadow" charge and that we might've hit the confirm button twice. I decided to cancel the order just to be safe. We then called U-Haul to book another rather than trying again online. They said their records still showed POG as confirmed to help us move. We called POG and asker Tim to call us. When he did he said he could have two team members come out to deliver the box but they could not help us move (we had paid to have them load as well). We scheduled a time for the next day since we still needed the move done. The next day, a whole half hour before they were due to show up, Tim called and said they'd received our cancellation. (Assuming it was the cancellation from the first day). We ended up moving everything ourselves just to make it easier because of all the confusion from U-Haul and POG. Flash forward to today, I noticed a balance of $105 on my credit card and call U-Haul. They said no, we can't help, you have to call the movers. So we call POG. Tim said U-Haul was responsible and we told him we had just called them and they had said to call POG. Then he blamed the Moving Help company. He started to raise his voice at my partner and said that we "obviously didn't want our money back" and that we need to just "listen" to him. He was so rude and disrespectful. I had Rhett and Nathan help me and they were prompt, courteous and very helpful. Above and beyond. Very humble, very kind, good team work. They were on time and despite delays at the fault of u-haul, we still managed to move everything and was stay on schedule. Rhett met me when I was at the u-haul try I g to find a moving company and gave me the card. I was delighted he was the one to show up and help me as I had hoped to see such a pleasant young man again. POG will pick up and return the truck from u-haul which is another greatly appreciated convenience. read more

Completely unprofessional company! Our agreement was for a 2 hour time block and they left after one hour without unloading the truck. The guy in charge was rude and egotistical. I called their office to file a complaint and have them send new movers out to finish the job and was hung up on twice. I finally received a call from the manager who wasn't helpful at all, told me he already sent his people home for the day and wasn't supportive of us as the customer. Don't waste your money at this company. We paid 190 dollars to be left with a truck full of furniture, poor customer service, and having to do the work and still no return calls or refund from the company! read more

We hired them to move from house to house and everything was fine until I slept in my bed for the first night and it collapsed on me. Tried to get ahold of them by leaving messages and emailing with no response. The one mover text me once after my first message to the company asking about the bed. I asked him to have Tim call me but never heard from him again. I filed a complaint with the BBB. In short, don't use this company. The response by Jack G is wildly inaccurate. I assure you the complaint has been filed with the BBB. The bed was assembled by his movers and the first night we slept in it, it did break due to them not assembling correctly.
