Pretty good poke here. I ordered on Uber Eats and it didn't give me an option for a base though. All poke places I've been to before give an option to choose your base - this place just defaults to white rice I guess. read more

Employees were not helpful when attempting to order. We felt rushed and as if we were stupid for not knowing what we wanted. It ended in an argument between my partner and I. This was the first poke place I have tried in Austin and it did not let me down. Servers were courteous and diligent when getting my order. There are a lot of options to choose from and add so you wouldn't be ordering the same bowl each time. I got a medium poke bowl and they packed the bowl with a good amount of fish. I went on a Wednesday and they had a special where they included an extra scoop of fish which made it even better. Best days to go are definitely from Monday to Thursdays were they have those added deals but even without the deals it is still worth. I love this little spot. I am originally from California and love some good raw fish! I Always get a two scoop bowl which is plenty for me. there are so many fun goodies to add to your bowl and the food is fresh and healthy. My 7 steps to a tasty lunch were: Step 1, medium bowl (3 proteins), Step 2, brown rice, 3, cooked shrimp, crab meat salad, unagi (my adventure choice), Step 4, carrots, cucumber, red onion, Step 5, Ponzu dressing, Step 6, ginger, Step 7, sesame seeds. Medium bowl was just right, glad I didn't step up to the Large portion. All ingredients were fresh and good tasting. You can be daring and for Step 3, go raw albacore, red snapper, salmon, or tune, which my wife loved in her bowl for lunch. Last week I ordered through Uber eats...DON'T do this if you don't want to get ripped off. I ordered my regular order and it came in half the case it normally comes in for the same price. Be careful. Then after two bites, my boyfriend and I thew the food out. It was not fresh, and the scallops and spicy salmon were slimy. I can't not convey enough, it almost made us gag. I called and asked them for a refund, was very nice, said I ordered before and this one experience was poor. They never called me back after the woman told me her manager would call me right away the next day. I will never order from here again, I wanted to support a small business during these times and their customer service was really disappointing. read more

Lots of options and I expected to like it a lot, but the end product seemed skimpy and the toppings were minimal. Got it to go so didn't open it until later. The quality here is a bit mediocre compared to poke poke, which is just down the street. There is one on Brodie/slaughter and another one on Congress. The interior of poke austin is nice, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. The Asian male who helped me made no eye contact and no explanation when I had trouble understanding him- it was another customer who helped me. I came here because I wanted to support local, but I won't be back with this service and the quality of food being so far below poke poke. read more

This place needs help. I was really excited and had been looking forward to this opening for months. The second I saw the food, I wanted to leave. It was not fresh at all You can only get one type of lettuce. Lettuce is terrible. Portions are not worth the price. They could charge that if it was good quality. The font on the menu looks so cheaply done. Cups, silverware, and tupperware presentation was so small and cheap. Music was so loud I couldn't hear anything. The only reason we stayed was because the man running it was so nice and we felt bad. I got a small and it was the perfect amount of food for me! Another big perk is they definitely have good vegan/vegetarian options. I've had a lot of Poke over the years and was excited to learn there was a place I hadn't tried that was so close to where I'd recently moved. My initial impression of the "ouch that's hot" bowl was that it was neither hot, nor fresh-tasting at all. There was a lack of variety of flavors in the dish, and the kimchi it came with did not belong there. Something felt off about the octopus - my brain kept telling me not to eat it. The texture of the Albacore felt mushy. Not more than an hour later I began feeling the familiar early symptoms of food poisoning, so I quickly popped two activated charcoal pills to curb the nausea. Also, where do they get off charging an additional $3 to sub white rice for brown??? This was not only the worst poke I've ever had, but the most expensive. read more

Im a regular customer (once a week). I always order their largest bowl aka Better Than Ever Bowl, which is white rice base, 5 protein choices, veggies and 2 sauces. The serving size is hit or miss depending on who makes it. When Trent is in, his serving size is out of the park good. I've never questioned the quality. Where they could do better is their staff. They need better supervision. Always seems like they're going in and out of the store to talk on the phone or meet friends. When they're not helping customers they act like they're still at school rather than at work. It doesn't really bother me too much but I can totally see how it is costing them return business. read more
