So good! Walked in the afternoon and it was confusing that you had to go to the right to order, and it isn't there right when you walked in, but I guess it works better for them. I made my own bowl to be sure I kept keto. The salmon looked good, but the tuna didn't. It looked like a bad cut, so I opted for the seared white tuna which had a kick of spice to it. Loved it. The poke sauce wasn't too sweet and I was excited about that. The leafy greens were just what I needed. I took a star off for them making you pay for avocado. 1$ for a scoop of avocado when you can go to HEB of WF for cheaper and get a whole avo..I'll pass on that. Otherwise the staff was friendly with my questions and the seaweed salad was good. I'm sure you can go do Hmart or the other international food store and make this yourself for cheaper, but it's quicker and easier just to go here :) minus the avocado. read more

This will be the last time I ever order from here, the food was so BAD! I ordered a bowl and there were many things wrong with it that just made it inedible. First, they gave me the wrong type of rice, which would have been fine if that was the only thing wrong with the order. The cooked salmon was terrible, fishy, overcooked, dry, disgusting. The kimchi was absolutely FOUL, and this is coming from somebody who loves kimchi and it's flavor. It tasted like it had gone rancid, I felt sick immediately after biting into it and spit it out into the trash. Lastly, the fried garlic was so hard that I thought I had bitten down on a rock in my food, it hurt my teeth so bad I had to check if it had cracked (Yes, that's how hard the pieces were). After all of the above I just threw out the whole bowl. I felt so sick after a few bites, and completely lost my appetite. I tried reaching out Poke Austin for a refund, explaining everything that happened, but didn't hear back. I then tried to call the restaurant to speak to a manager about a refund, with yet again no response or call back. It has now been over a week from me trying to contact them for my refund, with no response. If they had given me a refund I might have given them another try at some point. I recommend finding another Poke restaurant to eat at. There are many good ones in Austin that have good ingredients, better customer service, and actually taste delicious. I got a salad with tons of protein and veggies while my dad got the Baked one, with pretty much only rice, sauce and fish. This is my siblings' first time trying poke and my picky brother actually finished his bowl. One suggestion would be to have snowcrab without mayo, since too much mayo gets to be a bit too "rich," in the words of my sister. Also, a watermelon "poke" and a safe teriyaki chicken option (for the seafood averse person who gets dragged here, like *cough* my bf) might expand the demographic who would come here! I have had not-so-good poke one too many times and don't jump at the mention of it anymore. This weekend was so hot and running errands after two-plus months in isolation was so tiring that I wanted more than a salad but not hot cooked food. Luckily, Poke Austin popped up on my search nearby and I decided to give it a try. First, I was impressed with the number of choices - even for vegetarians - for build your own bowl - tofu for protein but then so many toppings, sauces and garnishes to pick from! Second, I liked that they had a variety of sizes too. I picked the size one up from kids size and comfortably ate it for 1.5 meals. I think given how filling the protein packed bowl is, the value is good. This is my favorite Poke place in town! Fresh fish, fresh veggies, plenty of toppings, friendly service, decent prices and parking! You can choose a pre-selected ingredients bowl or build your own. I always get the spiciest bowl and ask for extra spice! They have beer, wine and sake. They have a big TV. I wish the setting was more comfortable to eat at, even if it's a quick lunch, I do not find it very comfortable. The place is kind of small but I suppose it's adequate. I hate writing bad reviews but this place gives extremely small portions for the price. I ordered the skinny bowl and the other person I was with ordered the strong bowl. I got less than 2oz of protein and he got like maybe 3 oz of chicken and still payed almost 40 bucks with tip! Ridiculous. I know poke isn't cheap but there are many other places in Austin that give you much more food for the same price ( they were even stingy with the toppings) I won't be coming back. read more

Great new place that has relatively healthy foods. Had lunch at this neat little Japanese style restaurant chain from California (one of the very nice people there told us this is the first location outside California). It's a "build-your-own" sushi style salad (or what have you) place. Different than anything I've ever had. The small store is immaculately clean. You start down the line and pick your rice (or Quinoa, or Spring Mix or others). They you have a lot of choices of protein like raw tuna, salmon, scallops, others and some cooked ones as well. You select from lots of interesting veggies, toppings, sauces until your bowl is filled. We both love Japanese style food and really enjoyed this. One of my companion's choices was the small, cooked shrimp, which I stayed away from. I've found that very small shrimp just don't have much taste. My companion agreed, it was the only part of the meal that neither of us liked that much. When all was said and done, we both enjoyed the experience and the lunch. The service was excellent and pleasant. We'll certainly be going back again as this was a nice change from sushi. read more

This time they didn't even tell me that they give the order to someone else and had we wait 30 minutes for my order to be remade. What a treat! I picked Poke Austin lunch from Lunch Drop app. I have not heard about it before, did not throughly study the menu, and was delighted with my Build-a- Bowl. I picked a small bowl: quinoa as the base, salmon and snapper for protein, and topped with cucumber, carrots, pineapple, sweet corned, and Mango dressing. Edamame and sesame seeds for the beauty and deliciousness. To tell the truth, I did not study the menu much before ordering and was surprised when the fish was raw. I have never rated raw fish and it was delicious! What a way to start the new decade right! We were looking for a quick, healthy place to grab poke on a Sunday night. We didn't want to pay for Uber Eats or others fees for delivery, so we were prepared to get in the car to pick it up in person. We first attempted to order through their website, which I believe is supported by a third party by ChowNow. This resulted in an incredibly frustrating endless loop--create an account, receive an error, be unable to type in any of the fields, and over and over again. Multiple browsers, multiple phones, and we are not technology illiterate, something clearly wrong with this platform at the time we attempted to make the order. No problem though, I'll just give the restaurant a call. Again, endless loop. This only results in a standardized message that directs you to their non functioning website to order, no option to speak to a human at all. As a last ditch effort, we clicked on the "order takeout through Postmates" option beneath their restaurant's listing on Google. Through this option, we incurred a $5 fee on top of our food--This was only to be able to place the order and pick it up ourselves. I didn't notice the increased price at first as I was so frustrated with the website and phone experience, but tried to cancel anyway. Obviously no fault of the restaurant here, but I was physically unable to cancel through Postmates immediately after ordering and obviously unable to cancel with the restaurant directly as nobody will answer the phone. Reluctantly, we decided to pick up the paid-for food once it was ready. I shared the above experience with a few of the friendly staff inside, who I acknowledge have little reign over how the ordering or management of the phones is handled, but little was done to make it right. I asked repeatedly for a manner in which to contact management, or somebody who may be interested in my poor experience and what could change it, but no avail. Hoping this review gets us a bit closer, but not exactly holding out hope. We will be taking our business elsewhere after tonight. read more

I loved Poke Austin for a long time. Then it seemed like the medium turned into a small. I get it, but it kinda sucks. Then they messed up my order a few too many times. Tonight I got a bowl and they gave me brown rice... I don't like brown rice at all. If they were out of sushi rice id have preferred for them to let me know. I finally got a large (3 protein bowl) and it seemed like the exact portion as the medium. Maybe bc they were low on rice? But it was such a small amount of food I'm still hungry. Had a delicious poke bowl during a trip to the coast and decided I wanted to find some poke places in Austin. The staff was pretty Covid compliant with masks and gloves. You can eat inside or outside (which we did). It's a build your own bowl situation and for me it was a lot to choose from, so I think I probably put way to much stuff in my bowl (though it did fill me up). The protein sizes are small and I wasn't really impressed with my choices, wagyu beef and tuna. The tuna was pretty tough, not fishy fortunately, but not as tender as other places I've been. My boyfriend got the spicy bowl and wasn't too excited about it either. Might give it another chance one day since it's so close. We tried their medium bowls recently and found them way too sweet for our liking. I've ordered the same items at other poke establishments in South Austin with very different results. I'm not sure if all of their items have a sweeter taste to them or not. We ordered online for delivery. Today I did get the all meat bowl which I would say is completely disgusting. It has seared salmon and spam. It is the worst combination of flavors I've ever had. This used to be my go to poke place, but the past three times everything has been pretty crappy. It's like they barely put any rice and the rice they do put is really crunchy and undercooked. The protein portions are also a lot smaller and they've messed up on two of my pick up orders so this time I sent someone to pick it up for me. Food quality is still not like it used to, the portions are smaller and the person who got my order said the lady was really rude to him. We will just have to find some place else. read more
