This place is one of my favorite poke places. It is on the more expensive side but the upgrades are worth it. My go to upgrades are the Japanese scallops, unagi and avocado. I find that most poke places in the area the sauces aren't spicy enough for me. But the volcano sauce is so good here I usually ask for extra. Caution I do love my food extra spicy. My first time experience coming here was great! Inside was squeaky clean, the setup is nicely displayed and stocked. The staff is really friendly being that it was my first time Jose was patient and helpful. Food is really fresh, and the spicy tuna has a nice smokey spicy flavor. I loved how my poke bowl came out! Decent poke place across the street from Round 1. As other reviewers have stated, it's a little pricier than other poke places and they charge for hamachi, shrimp, avocado, and tamago (egg). The cubes of fish are pretty small, as is their scooper, but because we ordered the large size with 4 proteins, I think it was filling enough. They charge $2 per scoop or hamachi so it was $4 more for our two scoops. $18.95 for the large bowl plus $4 so $22.95 plus tax. The fish tasted okay (nothing stood out) and the mix of brown rice and salad and the ponzu sauce were good. Portions for the sides were reasonable. The soda machine is out of order but the employee was nice enough to get us some cups of tap water. The parking lot is not very big and was pretty packed on Saturday night. It's 3 high two top high bar tables with bar stools and one lower table. It's a reasonable option for a quick dinner in the area. read more

Who knew there was a hidden Poke shop nearby. Decide to give it a try for the first time. They had multiple options to choose from. The service was good as they kindly answered questions and made suggestions. The portion seems small as the protein of fish is small cubes. Then if you got other options there is a + $2 up charge. The bowl is not deep so it's kind of small and overall my only concern is that it's on the pricier side. I have tried others and the bowls and proteins aren't as small. Restaurant had tables to sit for those dining. If you are looking for a cool pole place to try O would definitely give them a try. read more

I come here at least once a month and am super bummed their prices went up but not shocked because I know that happens. The same guy is always working there when I come in and he is pretty knowledgeable and offers good suggestions. I enjoy the poke here. It is a great spot to grab a quick lunch. This used to be my go-to place when I'm craving poke, but unfortunately, the quality has gone down throughout the years. I ordered for pick up and decided to eat there since there were tables available. I ordered a large that's $18.95 which comes with 4 scoops of protein (salmon, ebi, spicy crab meat and tai) with half spring mix and white rice. The rice was extremely and it did not taste like sushi rice. The ingredients don't seem to be as fresh as it should be plus the price is a bit extreme for the quality that you get. read more

When I first found out about poke, my friends and I would drive all the way from Hayward to San Ramon for Poke Don. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. But I think I got it so often I grew tired of it. Fast forward to this year when my friend suggested poke for dinner I was excited, not realizing there is a Poke Don in my area. It was like that one scene in Ratatouille where the critic tastes it and suddenly was brought back to a flashback. That's what happened to me. I can't wait to go here again because of the quality of the food/ingredients. It was a super hot day and I decided to stop by Poke Don to pick up some food after work. They have a good variety of proteins for you to choose - salmon, tuna, hamachi, scallops, Japanese scallops, etc. You pick your sauces and sides and they will mix it with the protein and throw it on top of your base. They also have a good amount of toppings, however, a lot of these will cost extra $$$. For avocado it is understandable, but I felt that charging a $1 extra for mango was a bit much. Overall, the food was pretty yummy! I love adding edamame, ginger, tobiko, seaweed salad, kimchi, mango, avocado, and fried onion to my bowl and they had all of those! I'm gonna be super lenient and give it 4/5 JUST for the food; the service was.... well, directly to me wasn't bad but the level of professionalism is deeply in question here.... I was craving some good old poke and stumbled upon here. Upon arrival, I just went up behind the counter and ordered half lettuce half brown rice with crab meat, shrimp, and seared salmon. ( good thing About this place is their options: there's a lot to choose from and it's pretty unique too!!) although there's extra charges for some things that you choose, it's fine. The food itself was spectacular no question about it. However, they didn't include enough base brown rice or they used too much sauce because I had very little rice and it was completely saTurated in the custom sauce :(( too salty yikes! If I'm going to be paying for $15 worth of poKe, at least include my money's worth... and it's just rice/cabbage.... What kinda sorta turned me off from this place was that the manager and the worker sweared out loud with customers present. Actually, when I ordered a small miso soup, the worker didn't put it on a tray and the manager did then said "it's too hot put it on a tray.. so stupid" I was a little stunned but he ( the worker, didn't make a big deal about it and it seemed like they were friends so..???) But then when I was eating, and so were othEr pEople, they were conversing pretty loudly and I heard them drop several f bombs like it was no big deal. Cost of poke ranges between $12 to $16 depending on size and choice of toppings. Lots of options from spicy crab meat, seaweed, and numerous sauces & side toppings. Not a lot of places offer spicy crab meat, so I'd recommend trying that out. I'm more sensitive to the quality and freshness of sushi/fish...so the quality of the fish here is just...decent, which is good enough for a quick, affordable lunch. [Pandemic review] I will admit, I am a novice when it comes to poke. The bowl of poke I had at poke don was my second one ever...but the first one was not nearly as memorable as this so I am willing to go out on the limb here and say YUM. This was delicious. In an unassuming strip mall, this is not what I was expecting. They basically give you a huge bowl of what's kinda like and undone bunch of sushi rolls for only $15 (for the large). If you have ever wanted to dive into a bowl of sushi, this is essentially your chance. The large made two meals for me. My friend and I had it for lunch, and it was so good, I suggested we skip our dinner plans and just have leftovers. The next morning, I was dreaming of it. First of all the young lady that helped me was so sweet and I told her it was my first time and she was so patient with me and explained which was what, how much quantity of food I get of each option and she wasn't pushy or rushy. I've been eating raw fish most of my life, and I was really excited to have Poke place really close to work. I stopped i today and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
