Had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally tried it today. The Thai milk tea was an unusually light color and just tasted like milk. The bowl was ok. I'm definitely used to more topping options at poke places. I'd also be sure to ask for a lot of extra sauce because my bowl was really dry. Didn't finish it. Disappointed overall. I love the quality of this fish of this place, as well as their imitation crab and sauces. BUT... their rice is horrible! It's always hot and ends up becoming a brick by the time I save some for later. The rice shouldn't be hot!!! Please try to fix this issue please because nowhere else is as good! You guys are wonderful but I just wished you guys wouldn't just let the rice sit hot all day long. It's just a shame. If the issue keeps persisting the next time I go I'd rather just not have poke then have to deal with hot rice that ruins my fish. read more

This was really a new experience with trying something new and I got a lot of things on my poke bowl, the white rice was fluffy,the cucumber and pickled onions added a flavorful crunch, the salmon and tuna were phenomenal and the spicy mayo, eel sauce with garnishes on the top of the bowl all around fantastic and they were super nice and it was clean and gave us free water. I think it is better food and prices than all the other poke places. Lots of fresh quality ingredients and cheaper than sushi!

My girlfriend and I have always loved this spot, the bowls are fresh and the flavors are great. Lately though, we've noticed a big change in portions. It used to be solid scoops of fish and toppings, but now it feels like we're mostly paying for rice with just a small amount on top. Depending on who's working, the portions can vary a lot too. We really want to keep coming here because the food is genuinely good, but it's becoming harder to justify the price when the bowls feel less balanced. Hoping management sees this and brings the portions back to what made us loyal customers in the first place. read more

Today when I sat down to eat my bowl, there were mostly frozen pieces of fish. The staff was super kind and remade it for me, however, I'm pretty sure the only reason the fish in the second bowl wasn't frozen is because I saw him warming it up with his hands as he was remaking it. I was hesitant to try this place because I've heard mixed reviews but it actually was pretty good! I'm so glad there's finally one by where I live! Poke and sushi are definitely on my last meal on earth list lol. I had half greens and half white rice and almost all the toppings! The taste and quality matched the price (even though it is pricier than the ones I have tried). Only down part was not much serving of the base (the greens or white rice. The bowl was very shallow so I'm not really sure if you're getting "a lot". It's one of those marketing business tactic lol. The place does offer a lot of options for not only your poke bowls but they teriyaki bowls, musubis and ramen/soups! I will definitely be coming back to fulfill my cravings! Location on this site is not updated. I had to go to the village in arroyo grande. Did an online pickup order. Staff didn't greet right away although I was the only place there upon opening. However the 5 stars for the food ! I got a regular poke, I should have got a small. Too much food , but I ate all the fresh fish I had on it. Fresh, fish , but very small kibble sized cut pieces. Never saw anything fso small. Ambiance reminded me of very laid back island style. Cute , but that's it. No music so kinda would rather do pick up for the future. The poke bowls deserve 5 stars. They're amazing and have such fresh ingredients. I recommend the ahi tuna, spicy ahi tuna, and shrimp for the protein choices. I decided to try a fun drink for the first time there and we ended up throwing it away. It was TERRIBLE, 1 star. The iced matcha latte tasted like warmed milk and was super plain. I asked her to add more matcha and more ice. After 5 minutes she brought it back to me and it tasted just as bad and was still warm. I added a ton of ice at home, still sucked and threw it away. Waste of money- don't ever order anything besides a poke bowl here. read more

The staff were very friendly. This was my first ever poke bowl and it was fantastic! A bit pricey but that's to be expected. $20 for a medium but also they give you your moneys worth. Frankly, the food is unmatched in my experience.... other poke places I tried in West Hollywood, Hawthorne (near LAX), two other Central Coast places, Denver, CO and Pasadena... while my experience in poke restaurants is not comprehensive, it is no small achievement to beat out every other place I have tried. Those places weren't bad and had high reviews but, IMHO, Poke Morro still the best. The location in the Village is my favorite, it's a cute spot in Arroyo Grande. While not the best interior for dining in, it is small but inviting, small wear'n'tear is showing in some spots but poke bowls really lend themselves to be taken to the beach or park or even home to enjoy immediately. The owner is great, real friendly and she's instilled that into her staff as well. Seriously, still a great local place I hope will stick around for a long time! WAIT! Almost forgot! Carmen created a new Ginger Sauce! Soooo good! It has a little kick, just enough. Friendly staff so I'll give it 2 stars. I was made a bowl with 3 proteins which means 3 teaspoon sized scoops on fish. My magnify glass couldn't even find the fish in my bowl. This place used to be great and I would come here one or two times a week, however, the service and quality has gone downhill quite a bit in the last few months. I rarely see the old staff and the new staff is not getting trained adequately. The last three times I've been there the bowls are about a third less quantity and the price may have even gone up?!? The new employees don't even know what ahi tuna is. They either don't know what they're doing because they received no training or they are just plain unskilled and never had a poke bowl themselves. At this point, I would not recommend coming here until they fix their quantity/quality issues. read more

I drove over on my already short lunch break and when I opened up my food I noticed there were no meatballs... not the end of the world but I called anyway to ask why there was no meatballs. The employee then blamed the whole thing on the website saying "there shouldn't be two options, we don't know why it does that but we will only provide the first protein in the order" I said "do you guys bother telling the customer when they pick up their order" his response "well we didn't know you picked it up" Never apologized and pushed blame elsewhere Don't make it your customers fault. Loved it, so many options, the workers are extremely helpful, great location and free parking, just asked the workers.

The ingredients are good and seem to be fresh. Good location because a parking lot is right next to it (free to park after 6pm), and there is a park within walking distance to go eat your poke at. However, I did not have a good first experience. I ordered online for pickup through their website, was told it would be a 20min wait (that's a longer wait time than when I order cooked food lol). When I called to check if it was ready before going in to pick it up, they said they never received an order from me (or any online order at that time). After putting me on hold for quite a while, they actually did find my order receipt, but no one had made it. They did end up making it quick, but after getting home to eat it I realized it was wrong. It had a different sauce than what I had chosen, white rice instead of brown rice, and other ingredients that I had not chosen and didn't want. Only 1 bowl out of 2 was correct. They also didn't include utensils or napkins so that's why I had to go home to eat it instead of at the park near it. read more

We stopped in today with high hopes. Unfortunately, they were dashed pretty quickly. The poke bowl was smaller than we were used to. The rice was over cooked and mushy in places and thus, had an off taste. The portion of fish was smaller, but of good quality. You can get a bowl with rice or brown rice or salad greens or chips OR combo. Toppings were solid (seaweed salad, Kimchi, edamame, Kean salad with some really great house sauces -- wasabi mayoi, spicy mayo sauce, eel sauce -- too mNy to name + lots of furikake choices. I have a killer sauce idea if you message me. They also have some teriyaki dishes that look really tasty. The owner's daughter from Maui is such a friendly and sweet person. Great vibe and energy -- she is a natural. Patient as they come. Really like this spot Yelp Elite Suggestions: Get fried garlic chips. Source some other types of chips like shrimp chips or cassava / potato chips. Hawaiian sodas or Calpico would be cool. Scooper is difficult and slows service down. Maybe try using tongs. Almost Immediately after hearing that this place overnight slowly cooks beef bones for the real deal Pho broth....well I have to say that the Chef/Owner really does a PHine job! As others have claimed, the owner/chef is a hard working Orcutt fellow who decided to come up here to the SLO area & make us some legit Vietnamese/Hawaiian grinds. He goes thru the trouble of slow overnight boiling of a vat of bones & meat to make a super-legit broth. LOVE LOVE LOVE BROTH BROTH BROTH As a 30 yr+ Veteran of all things Pho, I did my part to add the extras that they had on hand. DO NOT FORGET THE STINKY ANCHOVY SAUCE! STINK STINK STINK YUM YUM YUM So essential. Not to mention the other sauces. I really love that the owner goes thru the trouble of providing the real deal rare tender beef. He uses a nice tender flavorful cut that is of superior quality for sure. ONO ONO ONO BEEF BEEF BEEF He assisted me personally with adding just the right amount of this or that. The Citrus, the Onion, the Basil, the Cilantro, and add a floral aroma that along with some hot sauce & Jalapeños are guaranteed to clear up your sinus & titulate your senses. I had a nice chat with the owner, and even though they have been open barely two months, they are doing pretty good. There are only 3 other places in the 5-Cities/SLO area that do Pho. One is more of a tourist themed place in downtown SLO, which is not a fav. The other two are Chinese restaurants/buffets that have Vietnamese owners & both are legit. I would say that broth-wise, this place may very well beat all the rest. While they do not use some more exotic ingredients like tripe or tendon, the owner did fix me up with some slow roasted stewing beef...which was super nice. While this place does make a play on the Surfer/ Hawaii theme, it pulls it off for me, since it reminds me of my old Honolulu home.... where just down my street, I could have Pho 7 days a week. Since the only other good Pho place in AG, on Grande, is closed on Mondays, this place is sure to be a go to place for my Monday fix. At about $10 , the price is so right since all soups start at around there in this town & can go way up. This is not merely just a soup, but a whole hot meal in a bowl. Who wants some cold fish when this hot ambrosial wonderfulness can bless your buds & gullet? If you are trying to eat healthy, this is one of the most fantastic ways to enjoy a great meal and not have any guilt. Poke Morro has incredibly fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and at a great price point. Bonus is their adorable interior which is casual but bright and conveniently located across from the regal theater, My husband and I often grab this and share their largest $15 bowl and it comes with five proteins. We skip the rice and instead do a healthy spring mix of salad as a base. We had all kinds of flavorful sides some great sauce and gobble it up. Our favorites are the spicy tuna, salmon, and Ahi for sure! My only concern is that it isn't busy enough for such a great new place just starting out with what I believe are new owners. I also think they should turn their lights on as soon as they get their bodies in there because it didn't look open to me but it sure was and we had a great lunch today. I wish I had taken a close-up of our poke bowl but you can see it and some of the images I'm sharing below.I can't say enough great things about Poké Morro and we have tried many of the poke places in the area, this is a sure winner. Some of the worst portions I have ever received from a restaurant. I did DoorDash so maybe they don't care but I felt ripped off. I ordered a large bowl but there was barely any fish for sure not 5 scoops worth. Go to Pokerrito or Poke Chef if you can or any other restaurant. read more
