You can see all the ingredients and everything being prepared/made. You really get your value for money here even though it can be slightly pricey (for what you're getting it's not though). I've been meaning to find a good poke place by me and have actually walked by here a few times. I opted for the Hawaiian bowl. The bowl came with a lot of rice. Initially I didn't think the rice and fish portion was adequate, but I was quite full after. The poke wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very memorable/good in comparison to others I've tried previously. This is the BEST place for poke for about $15-$20 per bowl. Everything tastes fresh and all of the employees are friendly and caring. They have loads of customization options with no additional charge. They also offer punch cards for a free bowl, which I've redeemed twice now. For me, the best signature bowl is the Spicy Tornado, which goes great with avocado! The store is nice and quiet, especially late at night. It can get a bit packed at times because it's a tiny store. Due to this, there's not really an indoor eating area, but if you live nearby this isn't an issue. The closing and opening times are also inconsistent and a little inaccurate. But, what make me want to come back is the amount of food they give. about this place is the amount of food they give. Fresh and value... nothing gets better than that. My only criticism is the service speed. Because of the layout, there is one person making the bowl and one person making sushi. During peak traffic, things can be a little slow. My brother bought it as takeout for my lunch and the taste was just mediocre. I ordered the Hawaiian classic (Tuna & Salmon) since it had everything I wanted. The serving size was filling for one even though it didn't look like a lot. There wasn't much of the Ponzu sauce spread over the bowl. Mostly concentrated in the middle and the rice was lumped together so it wasn't easy to mix everything either. Only the parts with the ponzu sauce had an Unami flavor. I'm happy to have a poke place in the area. The East Village has an amazing array of food to choose from, but for some reason it's hard to find a poke place that delivers. That being said, I think their food lacks an "ooompf". The sriracha aioli for example, is very mild to the point of not being able to taste it. Their spicy tuna seems like their regular tuna. Even their jalapenos are rarely spicy. Can a girl get a little kick?! The kani salad is sometimes on the dry side. They chop up their cucumbers into cubes so small they're almost minced and practically just dissolve. There is no way to order a bowl with half greens and half rice online, writing it into the special instructions box doesn't seem to work, maybe they let you do that over the phone. And I'd love to see something small added to the menu other than poke. A dumpling or roll of some sort. It's little things that I think are easy to tweak. I've ordered from them about three times now and am happy to have them in the rotation, and I think you should try them too, but I'm eager to see how they grow :) read more

This place is tiny and confusing. First of all, they were 1 or 2 hours away from closing but had run out of SO many items. It didn't seem that complicated to re-stock or re-grab the items from their fridge or wherever, but when I asked they were like "oh sorry no more crab left" "no more noodles either". They're also soooooo slow here. There were about 4 of us just waiting around to be served and the two employees were just taking their sweet sweet time. Portion size is only ok / pretty similar to other poke places. I do like that they do poke burritos, but honestly would not come back. I'm not paying the complete price to not get items that are "free" that I want. I got this mini poke last week amidst covid-19 times. I traveled to the location for pickup (note: you need to call in or order online; beware of their phone when calling in: it produces extremely scratchy and alarming sounds such that I could barely hear what the lady was saying. Sometimes the sound would happen while she was speaking so I couldn't get what she was trying to say). When I reached the location, the lady was nice. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS NOW, NOT CASH. I have never gotten a poké bowl in nyc; I have gotten one upstate and it was about $11 (including tax) for two proteins, while it's $10.82 (including tax and without the extra charged mix-ins) for a mini poké with one protein. I would say price is unreasonable but if that's the standard price here, then never mind. I had high expectations from the pictures shown on the website and on yelp, but my result was depressing. I had wanted a poké salad, yet they didn't have it available. However, there was cabbage salad available, which surprised me since I'm not sure if there's a distinction in health issues with refrigerating lettuce vs cabbage. I was also expecting a clump of kani salad like the masago topping, not really scattered bits of kani. Perhaps, I ordered too few mix-ins, but my first impression of the bowl was absolute disappointment. The meat was not as fresh as I would like; however, with the covid-19 setting, I guess that would make sense. Altogether, I felt slightly full but definitely not content because it didn't reach my expectations of a poké bowl. Overall, presentation and taste led to my two stars because at least, service was somewhat ok. I didn't know the store was call-in/order online only when I traveled to the store, so after I ordered, I could still see the inside of the store and there weren't many orders. I didn't mind waiting, so I expected presentation to suffice as amble time was given, yet alas, that was a faulty belief. read more

Also the rice tasted sour, I don't know if they added in vinegar or the rice just went bad. I got everything mixed with spicy mayo but I barley got enough sauce and everything just tasted bland. Poke N Roll, is amazing when you go in person to pick up your order, but it's less to be desired when ordering through an app. When ordering in person, the portions are large and you actually get the sauce you order! When ordering on line the portions are tiny and they often for get to add sauces. I also ordered a bubble tea through seamless. When it arrived there was no bubbles. I had a conversation with the manager over the phone who told me I had to pay 50 cents extra for bubbles and that I should've picked the option to add bubbles. There is no option to add bubbles on seamless. Thankfully he was very understanding and the next time I came in I was able to get a free bowl (due to lack of sauce and toppings) and a bubble tea (due to lack of bubbles). read more
