    Regular Bowl

i come to ballard like once a month or so to get my nails done... and because i usually get them done around noon, i'm usually hungry after. i was randomly craving poke one of those times and i am a Certified Hater of just poké due to its price and, frankly, mediocrity. i did a search to see if there was anything else around and this place came up. i walked in and was greeted by a super cool guy (i did not get his name but he has long hair and snakebites). i told him it was my first time in and he helped me put my bowl together. like i said he was super cool and i was the only person inside so we were just yapping which was fun. the inside of the place isn't a special atmospheric adventure but it has some big windows so there's lots of natural light. overall, this place was pretty good. fish was fresh and there's a good selection of toppings and sauces. if i'm ever craving poke after my nail appointments, i'll swing by.

Consistent, fresh, tasty poke. Love a good neighborhood spot. Friendly staff and generous portions. Tip: get mixed base of rice + salad, instead of just rice. Not good for large groups to sit, but really haven't seen it too crowded for dine in either. But hits the spot when craving poke and you're in the area. Adding some recent menu pics.

I like poke square. It's a great fast-casual lunch spot. The guys are friendly, the food is 'affordable', it's healthy, fresh, filling, and it's quick. It's always open when I'm in the neighborhood: lunch hour. It's also great that they use mostly compostable take out containers. If you're lucky you can score some miso or hot tea there when it's cold outside. Similar to most poke places you pick almost everything. It's like Hawaiian subway with fresh fish, rice, and seaweed. Poke square is affordable and quick. The only recommendations I have are to offer a few pre made bowls so that new customers aren't so burdened with difficult decisions about what to put in there. More protein variety would be nice but I can imagine that it's best for a small spot to keep the choices limited to control the cost. Keep up the good work!

This place is on par with FOB, which is supposed to be the best in Seattle. I would prefer this place as they have more options and it's much more affordable. The indoor seating is comfortable and the staffs have great personality. Awesome place for a poke fix!

Yummy poke spot in Ballard that hits the spot with fresh fish and a variety of sides! They definitely don't skimp on the fish here too. I got a regular bowl that comes with two scoops of fish and plenty of sides and it was a huge meal. The fish was fresh and perfectly mixed with their house sauces. Loved the variety of sides that added but didn't take away from the flavor of the fish. Nice service and very clean interior to enjoy eating inside too!

Poke Square has a lot of options and not limited on toppings! I really appreciate this aspect. They're quick and nice. In terms of the flavor, it's a pretty standard poke food and taste. The place itself was clean and small.

This is my favorite local poke place! It's reliable, high quality, and reasonably priced! I'm always satisfied coming here (and I come here a bunch--at least once a week). Highly recommend trying all the different sauces!

I can't believe I haven't try this place till now! They have a variety of protein selection and all the ingredients tasted fresh. This poke spot is supper generous with their portion. The staff is super friendly and patient with my order as I review their lists of options. The quality and quantity of the poke bowl are amazing as well as fair pricing. Definitely would come back and order again!

Poke. I take it super seriously from all the times as a kid having it in Hawaii. Now, during lockdown it is really easy to order nothing but comfort food so when I found they were delivering, my little heart was happy! As you can see by the copious photos, I have ordered more than once from them and been VERY happy with every bowl. Personally I am good with the smaller of the two bowls. I ordered the large a couple of times but ended up eating them over two sittings. My favourite is a mix of the rice and greens, and have come to the conclusion that I could have one of these bowls 5-6x a week and be happy as a fat otter. I absolutely love this place. I feel the quality and quantity for what you receive is good. I have never been disappointed in a bowl that I've gotten from them. Keep up the good work and keep supporting local businesses during this difficult time!

Okay, I fully admit I was skeptical of yet another poke place but poke square really surprised me! I was greeted immediately and they were so nice in while putting the poke bowl together. I went for brown rice and salmon/tuna regular bowl. Pretty standard of what I order at a poke shop. I was however pleasantly surprised of the quality of the fish (didn't get a single bite of yucky gritty fish you sometimes get at subpar poke places) and the tastiness of the toppings. I really appreciated the pickled daikon/carrot mix (yep, like the ones you get inside a banh mi) and amount of pickled ginger they don on top. This is not a place that skimp on toppings and I really appreciate that. I can tell poke square will definitely go into my regular rotation of lunch places. If you're feeling skeptical of yet another poke shop in seattle or you're just in need of a great quality poke, look no further!

Poke Square is my go-to lunch spot in Ballard since I live so close! The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and I know that I can be in and out with my food in less than 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly too! Today I ordered takeout directly from Yelp and my lunch was waiting for me as soon as I arrived! I usually go for the regular bowl (comes with 2 proteins) with brown rice and + avocado. It's a liiiittttle pricey for lunch (about $17 for a regular bowl + a drink + tip), but totally worth the "splurge" every once in a while. Give this place a try if you're craving poke in Ballard! Ps - they have their Halloween decorations out to get you feeling festive :)

Being Hawaiian, I take my poke seriously. I've tried a couple poke shops in Seattle just to compare what there is and Poke Square has been my favorite. We ordered for the first time just tonight, my boyfriend and I both got the regular combos. I got the bowl on the left in the photo (tuna, salmon, brown rice, sriracha aoli pickled ginger, cucumber, edamame, corn, furikake and seaweed) and his is on the right (tuna, salmon, white rice, white onion, avocado, sesame seeds, edamame). We DEMOLISHED the bowls. Perfect amount of dressing, perfect rice seasoning, ingredients were fresh, the quality of the fish was SOLID. We're happy to support such a tasty shop during these hard times!!

I was craving poke with the hot Seattle summer weather and decided to try this place out. I ordered a small poke bowl with albacore and salmon. Both of the fish were very fresh. I tried their medium poke sauce and it had a very slight spice to it. As for toppings, I just got crab, seaweed salad, cucumbers, and all the seasonings. Overall, I don't think their poke was bad, but it just wasn't the best I've had in Seattle either. I also don't live in Ballard, so I'm not sure that I would drive to this area just for this poke place. If I did happen to be in the area though, I would definitely come back here because the customer service was great and the poke is worth getting again, when nearby.

Let me start off with how incredible the staff are at this place, it felt like being at your mother's home after a long semester in college, where not only does the food drown your sorrows, but the joy of Meg and Russ makes you walk out feeling refreshed and recovered from whatever life had thrown your way. Russ definitely makes the meanest latte while making muffled grunts, but hey he's a cool guy who will make way for a traveler to feel welcomed. After a long flight in I needed the jolt to make me feel like I was alive like the monster in Frankenstein. If anyone needs any other reason to go, the flapjacks alone are my favorite item. 100/10 would recommend. It was ironic because I don't even like autumn but this redefined my frontal cortex with how explosive the flavor of these are. The last time I was there Meg asked what I wanted and I said "basic breakky with bacon" and she looked at me up and down, almost threatening to kick me out for saying "the B word" and goes "boy the salt alone will kill you, we don't do that here" as she Z snaps me with an Attitude only a mother could provide to check you. . She did have ham, and I went on my merrily Monday through Friday way to cause menacing agendas in the Queen Anne hood. Just as a conclusion, eat here if you want to feel loved and cared for... I'm SO glad Other Coast proved me wrong. And I was blown away by what we got. For starters, I asked for a reco. I'm aways more likely to choose something I wouldn't make at home, and the dry rubbed tofu, roasted yams, and vegan cardamom-lime sauce fit right into that category. We paid, nabbed a table out front, and our names were soon called. Holy heck, those first few bites were just spectacular. What an interesting flavor combo! got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end
