I ended up grabbing some late lunch at this spot. The heat makes it ridiculous to want to eat anything and poke feels like enough to eat. I ordered a large poke bowl with half rice half salad with 2 scoops spicy tuna, 1 scoop tuna, 1 scoop salmon. I think the spicy tuna was the best out of the 3. The quality of the tuna and salmon was okay, I didn't get sick or anything luckily. Just has the pale/old color to it. I added cucumbers, jalapeños, onions, green onions, ginger, and seaweed salad. I used spicy mayo for my sauce with ponzo sauce as well. I really like the seaweed salad. The ginger had a good crunch to it, I never had onions or jalapeños in a poke bowl but I love spicy stuff so at least for me, it was up my alley for sure. Service was okay. Nothing special or notable. Not really a poke spot I would come back to. There's other spots that have fresher poke for sure. It's convenient, but that's about it. My chief complaint are the sauces and their lack of flavor. At my last visit, I asked for the spicy yuzu ponzu. I saw them add it to the bowl, but when I sat down to enjoy, I could not taste anything. It was super bland and on top of that there was absolutely no spice for a spicey sauce. I wanted to get something light in the Hangar pairing it with my Blue Bowl. Saw the reviews for Poke2Grill and was excited to try it. Upon ordering, the employee was loading it up with salmon and tuna which made me even more happier about this spot. But when I started eating the bowl the fish was really slimy and tasted fishy fishy. I know fish naturally has a fishy taste unless you put vinegar on it. They also have grilled protein salads and bowls, but when I was in line, everyone around me only seemed to be getting poke! You can choose from 3 sizes--small has 1 scoop of fish, medium has 3 scoops, and large has 4 scoops. Then choose your base, protein, flavors, and toppings. The medium size was pretty filling. I couldn't finish the whole thing. They really pack the bowl, which is great! Ingredients were fresh, and sauces were tasty. One thing to note is their crab meat option is considered one of your protein scoops, but they do give a lot! Parking can get super crowded in the evenings! Once you get your bowl, you can usually find seating but it can be a little hectic at times. On my latest visit, I ordered a medium poke bowl with tuna, tofu, and crab meat. The fish was fresh, flavorful, well-portioned, and the overall bowl was great. Portions are solid and prices seem fair to me for the quality and location. My one gripe, and the reason this isn't a full five star review, is the menu clarity around the crab meat. It's a bit misleading. It looks like crab is included with the small bowl but it actually counts as one of the three proteins for the medium bowl. I got the large Poke bowl which comes with four scoops of fish over a base of salad. I was able to add all of the toppings which was drizzled with the yuzu ponzu sauce to give acid and flavor. While I felt the size was generous and filled to the max, I did feel a little bit underwhelmed by the fish quality which didn't seem as fresh. Perhaps because it was because it was near the end of the day? Since they make it as you go, the food came out quickly. Again because I was there at the end of the day, there was a few workers who gave a vibe like all they wanted to do was go home. This was the only place I returned to on my most recent trip to Long Beach. I absolutely LOVED my Poke Bowl here. The portion size was HUGE. I was a little concerned how much I was getting for the price because I'm used to serving sizes by my in Virginia but this was outstanding. The food was fresh and you could taste just how fresh it was. The service was impeccable. Everything was labeled for allergies which was great for my gluten free diet. Note: this location is at the Hangar, which makes for a perfect date-night spot! I have had poke many-a-times and the bowl I ordered definitely hit the spot! I ordered the small bowl, which had a generous portion of rice, protein, and fixings! I built my own poke bowl picking spicy tuna and shrimp as my proteins along with a scoop of the crab, then added an abundance of yummy toppers including ginger, edamame, green onions, masago, corn, and furikake. I did a blend of the spicy citrus miso and the classic sauce. WHAT A COMBO of flavors! The seafood tasted fresh and the combination of textures, flavors, sauce, and perfectly cooked rice made this an exceptional meal! I am SO glad I got the small size, since I was only able to eat a little over half of it. (Plus, I got to treat myself to the leftovers a few hours when my hunger kicked in) I will definitely be hitting Poke2 Grill up again the next time I am in town and craving a poke bowl. As a poke fan, this place is nothing special to talk about. I ordered a large bowl which cost me $20 with 4 protein. The portion is big but the worst thing was the sauce. My sauces were " ponzu with classic mild". I didn't even taste it on my fish. They should have put more. I felt like I was eating white rice with raw fish and toppings which was so I couldn't finish it. Will I go back? Probably not!!
