Probably the best kimchi fried rice I've ever had! It was so flavorful and I wasn't sure if I should've gotten that or something else because I wanted some type of protein, but it came with some bulgogi pieces in it and a fried egg on top. We come here for the Korean food. My favorite is the beef tofu soup.It is super flavorful! The hot stone bibimbap is amazing as well and all the ingredients are so fresh and yummy. We also enjoy the kimchi fried rice and the beef bulgogi. The restaurant has a couple tables to dine in but most people order take out. Online ordering is seamless at this location, and it generally only takes them about 15 minutes to make. The owner is kind, and is always very nice and accommodating to us. She jokes about ordering a lot, and I always laugh because my husband orders like 2-3 entrees to himself easy. The kimbap isn't bad, but what makes it amazing is their wasabi dipping sauce. It elevates it so much! Each entree comes with a little side and they are mindful to also include the sauce on the side as well. I had to think about whether to write this review, i.e. whether it was the right thing to do so I waited a few weeks. I really think it's important to let people know what happened to us here at this Temecula Poke Port. Oh my goodness, my experience here was less than awful. We went with our neighbors who invited us and who we really trust as far as good food. My issue was not with the food at all, mainly because the owner wouldn't serve me after I called him out on tasting food he was cooking with a spoon and immediately dipping the spoon back into the soup that was going to be served to a patron. He insisted that he washed the spoon before he double dipped into the food he was cooking but I wasn't going to be gaslighted. I know exactly what I saw. Needless to say, he was pretty angry an called our neighbor (who apparently eats there often) into the back of the restaurant, presumably to complain about me. I asked what the conversation was about but my neighbor said he apologized and was going to make me an entirely new dish which led me to believe he was sorry and was going to make it right. Fast forward, everyone at our table got their food except me. The girl working for him came to our table a few minutes later and asked me if I still wanted my soup. I told her yes please and said I was hungry. She went to tell the owner and he opened the cash register and had her bring my money back. I realized at that point that he wasn't going to serve me. Well okay then, I'm glad I had snacks in the car. I tried to give the money back to the girl working there as a tip for her because I didn't want any trouble but he made her return it to me. When she gave it back she said he didn't want any trouble. If he didn't want any trouble why ask me if I still want my food and then refuse to serve me? Maybe he felt proud of himself for making me watch everyone else at our table eat? Good thing that the food wasn't anything special. It wasn't terrible based on what everyone else said but my partner was so uncomfortable eating at that point that we will never go back not to mention what might end up in our food! Maybe I wasn't the best customer but don't put your licked, slurpy spoon with your saliva on it back into the food that you plan on serving me and expect me to eat it or not say anything after I clearly saw you do it, not once but three times! Yes, I wanted to be sure of what I was seeing before I said anything so I kept watching him for awhile. An apology for making an error could have gone a long way. A new meal instead of refusing to serve me but serving everyone else at the table was not really the right way to go about correcting his error. If he thought he was teaching me a lesson or something else he got it all wrong. I don't care. What I do care about is others eating there and not knowing if his mouth germs made it into their food or not and whether there will ever be a food safety inspector witness this gross behavior. The thing is, if this guy does this out front where anyone can see, what does he do in the back prep area? What a shameful way for him to behave all around. Very bad business. I have lived in this city for over 25 years. This is about the weirdest experience I've ever had at a Temecula restaurant. I've seen many restaurants come and go. This one will be no different, especially when word of this type of treatment and service gets around. Patrons, eat here at your own health risk. Owner, stop double dipping into the food you cook for your customers and watch your temper. If you thought you were punishing me you are mistaken. All you did was humiliate yourself. Be humble. Edit: After I posted reviewed I received several messages from the restaurant owners calling me "Karen" and telling me to be adult. I added a screenshot of their messages.
