My husband and I were on our way back to bonsall from LA. It was around 7pm. We only had a few snacks throughout the day so we were very hungry! First option we thought about was chipotle, but the closest one only had 1.7 stars. It is hard for us to try a place that has under 2 stars. So that was a hard no so next up was poke. The poki poki chain is our favorite and it had way more than 2 stars lol I'm so glad chipotle didn't work out. This was the best poki poki we've had! The octopus was fresh and not chewy, the rice to poke/toppings ratio was excellent! The location was perfect as we were looking for something right off the 15 and easy to get too. It's in a shopping center so the parking lot was roomy. The inside was very clean and organized. The worker behind the counter was very friendly as well. We will deffinitly keep this place in mind when we're in the area! read more

I've been a loyal customer of this poke place for years. Whenever I crave poke, I drive an hour just to get here. The portions are generous and delicious. Fast friendly quick service. Found this place on yelp as my daughter was craving poke. The menu tells u how to order. I believe there's two plate size options. See photos. We did the large with 4 proteins but just chose all the same protein- our go to is usually salmon or tuna. Some things cost extra like avocado. Chose your base, toppings and sauces. I want to start off by saying the food was amazing and the very sweet girl working the counter was so kind and helpful . I believe her name was remy . But I did find a few things very off putting and make me question if I will be back . First off a child was ridding a razzer scooter threw out the back and restaurant and it was very disruptive to the customers and staff . The second thing is there was an older women who was so so rude to the young girl who worked there and was very much overstepping and getting in her way. Maybe she was new ? I'm not sure but it really seemed as though she made it hard for the girl to do her job . I sure hope this isn't a new normal because it really took away from the amazing food and normally great atmosphere. read more

Topped off with everything they have, including the spicy imitation crab, and extra scoops of masago. The bowl was heavy, delicious, and wished I added teriyaki sauce. Was so excited to try poke again after my baby was born since I couldn't eat raw fish while pregnant. It was delicious! I liked the variety of toppings and sauces they had and how big the portions sizes were. My baby enjoyed the ambiance too! It was relaxing and seems to be a popular local spot as a lot of people were there at lunch time. I'll be back. It was expensive though, hence the 4 stars. read more

Loved all the topping options at this place, love that you can get either regular imitation crab or spicy crab, also the tempura flakes are a great add on, gives a nice crunchy texture to the meal. A few days ago, I decided to go out for some Poké at Poki Poki on Ynez. On top of a bed of spring salad, I had salmon, ahi, ginger, onions, green onions, seaweed, salad, cucumber, edamame, masago and seaweed..I think that's it been awhile and it was such a treat everything was fresh, the bowl was a great portion for a large size and the employees there were incredibly friendly, fast and helpful. read more

I've been here a couple times now. I like their sauces and their staff is always really kind and helpful. As far as other poki places I was searching for they were more affordable. I recently got Poke from Poki Poki For our dinner Poke is usually about a $20 meal I was pleased with the container which was a recyclable clamshell The food all looked so fresh and the fish was beautiful. I loved the seared albacore and the seared tuna slices (nice touch) The avocado should be included or a Bigger scoop if they are charging for it, (Which they do) The sauces were great and we had a Wonderful meal Thank you If you have punch cards, I hope you Will remember to offer it to new customers read more

I love this place! Fresh, clean, and yummy ingredients where you won't feel guilty if you're trying to eat healthy. There are 3 different size bowls you can pick. I got a regular with half rice and half salad mix along with 3 proteins. Tuna, scallops, and salmon. Excellent variety of additional toppings you can add such as seaweed, edamame, crab salad, baby fish eggs, etc and different sauces you can add as well. We eat here once or twice a week and order 3-4 bowls each time. Recently they have been refusing to give us 2 of these ramekins of wasabi. I will never eat here again. Their spicy tuna texture wasn't my favorite and it was in our rolls, so I wouldn't get those again. The lava stones were alright, but getting crispy rice is hard to execute properly. We did have a longer wait from when we ordered, which was odd. My friend got their roll and we waited another 10 minutes for mine to come out. Inside is pretty; it does give a fun sushi experience.

That said, I still think the menu has a good selection compared to a lot of other AYCE sushi places. What really stands out to me is the appetizer menu. I actually love their appetizers the most, and I think that's the highlight of their AYCE deal. The service is usually good, and the variety of food keeps me coming back. Overall, even with the higher prices, I still enjoy this spot because of the variety and the appetizers.

Having just moved here from a beach community, I was spoiled by a superb sushi restaurant in San Clemente. Though, my boyfriend loves this place for the all you can eat sushi, but he orders his same thing every time (Mexican roll), and the White House (a heavy cream baked fish) I always order something along the lines of a Rainbow Roll or a Superman Burrito (ahi hand-roll , which I don't think they had), I lean towards fresh ahi tuna, salmon and yellowtail selections. First off, my sake was lukewarm, whereas, I like hot sake. They did reheat it, so it improved it. They had an odd selection of alcoholic drinks: screwdriver, jack and coke, and Long Island iced tea, type of cocktails. Strange, but ok, whatever is a crowd pleaser. The fish to me didn't taste very fresh and seemed more chewy, especially the shrimp. I tried the White House, which tasted fine, but it was so heavy with thick cream sauce. Overall, I guess, it just didn't measure up to the quality that I am used to, comparatively. The vinyl booths were outdated, and dishes made me feel like I was in a cafeteria, white and light plastic. This change would probably elevate the experience and, possibly, even make the food present and taste better. However, maybe this is the theme that they are going for. Though all of those things should be improved upon, I do have to say that the staff was very attentive and kind. I know that a lot of people love this place for their reasons, and my best experience there was them. The last comment I will add is that, when it comes to celebrating a birthday, the celebratory music that is played, is just too loud. A small adjustment in volume would be efficient enough to make someone's day a better one. Maybe, in a few months, I'll try the establishment out again and see how they're doing. Sometimes, just by drawing a fine line on what type of experience you want customer's to have, can make all the difference. Sometimes, less is more. Just don't lose the staff, great customer service does really count.
