Pokéworks in Annandale has been one of my absolute go tospots since July 31. I've found myself here at least once a day, and honestly more often twice a day, because the food is that consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The variety of proteins, toppings, and sauces makes it easy to mix things up, and the quality is always spot on. The staff here has been friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. It really does suck that this location is closing down, because it has become part of my routine and a place I genuinely look forward to. I truly hope Pokéworks opens up another location nearby soon, because it's a concept and quality that the area needs.

Amazing fresh fish and very fast service, they have such good prices for the amount of food they give you, and the block itself is such a wonderful place to go with your friends. So sad it's closing end of August :(

This poke is sooo delicious! I can be particular about my poke (as I previously lived in California and have had some of the best in Hawaii as well) - and I love this place. Highlights: - Fast service (did an order for pick up, was ready when it said it would be) - Large portion size!!! Hell ya!!! - Fresh tasting fish and ingredients in general I can't wait to return for more - and my partner wanted it again the very next day after we tried it, lol.

I really like their bowls. However it is without fail they will forget a sauce. I have since ordered at least a dozen more times and I want to say every single time they forget one or both sauces. It's ridiculous. Bad service and they also sometimes give attitude if you ask for the sauces. It's unacceptable.

Little salad and almost no fish salad bowl (missing mango, edamame, sweet onions and kale)

Honestly it's embarrassing leaving bad reviews, because it looks like you are whining and complaining for something so little, but the quality of the bowls and the whole "pick-up" order system, clearly is not working. 3 orders in a row have been served mediocre. First order (3 weeks ago): - No toppings on my husband's Poke Bowl with rice (only the corn and edamame). - They did not pack the sauces. Ended up making some homemade teriyaki sauce for our bowls. 2nd order (last week): - Served my husband's rice bowl in a salad? (I usually order the salad) - Gave us a randomize button bowl: chicken and shrimp rice bowl???? (I'm pescatarian) so have to gave this one to my husband and I ate his spicy salmon only (he ordered both spicy tuna and salmon). Both these orders were placed through Uber Eats (1st one was a Store Pick-Up and the 2nd one a Delivery). Yesterday, we decided to have a poke again, because we enjoy the freshness of the fish, quality of the toppings and the creative sauces. I ordered through their mobile app/website for pick-up, trusting they will do it fine, yet another disappointment, after seeing they did not make my order right again... missed the edamame, kale/sweet onions, mango, little lettuce (had to chop some Romain lettuce and add some leftover canned tuna to pack it more). I'm glad I requested another sauce, since they usually forget about them... I will recommend for this location, to order to go in store, and watch intently how they craft your order so they don't miss horribly like they do when they are making the "online" order. 4 for Food quality and flavor 2.5 for Online Service You guys are not doing me a favor, I'm paying for an okay meal... I should not be adding to my bowl stuff at home because it takes the whole purpose of "ordering in because I don't want to cook".

This should be a 4 or 5 star review, but this isn't about the food. The food is great. The ordering process isn't that bad! God forbid you order two of something, they will only make one and then NOT PICK UP THE PHONE. Shouldn't be that hard to answer the phone to straighten these things out, but they don't. And they don't return calls. So if you're going to order, do it IN PERSON.

I like the food here, kind of regular here but the service is alright. I guess cos all the kids working here so they dont really care about service. Some day I got there the worker dont even say a word to me during our transaction.

Fazil A.

This was an awkward experience. The method you must order is a bit complicated if you don't want one of their premade bowls. The kids working here have W aura. They really helped me understand the menu. It's in a food hall, so be prepared to question your decision to order here, as there seems to be plenty of cool spots within the same room. I got mine to go. The edamame Isa's a bit hard. The tuna was under-marinated. But it was still pretty good value as the price wasn't overly-expensive. Probably would have to try a few other spots in the food hall before I'd say whether I'd go back or not.

On a summer Friday night, we decided to go to the local food hall. It's a great vibe: live DJ, a bar, and a few food outlets, including Pokeworks. It's your typical poke setup, with signature items or a BYO: I always do a BYO. Great selection. Friendly employees. Quick service. Definitely worth a return!

I recently discovered poke and it doesn't have to have raw salmon or tuna. I was able to order online to pick up. It wasn't bad but I just didn't like the flavors. Pick up was quick and easy. My only other issue was I ordered Musubi and it wasn't with my order. The receipt said cancelled but the staff could've made me aware so that I could've potentially ordered something else as it was for my kids.

Great poke bowls, fresh rice, fresh ingredients, generous servings, fast and friendly service. Been here several times and I keep coming back! The dinning area is shared with other restaurants in what's called The Block; a food court concept. It's great food in a nice communal setting.

I haven't been for a bit and they were running a Mother's Day special, 20% off...who doesn't love that! As always, they never disappoint. Service was fast and friendly. The Block was busy and it wasn't even noon yet. Food was fresh and kept well until the next day.

Just ordered delivery through the app and was ripped off. Ordered a large poke bowl and a garlic spam musubi. Spent $20 on a small portioned "large" poke bowl and a missing garlic spam musubi. Had to pay an extra $6 for service and fees on an order that took more than an hour long. Tried to call the place multiple times to see if I could get a refund and was sent to voicemail because their "phone line was down." Also tried to see if Pokeworks customer support had a phone number to call, but they don't have a phone line either.

Found this place on one of the food delivery services and was pleased to see it was a short hop away (less than a mile south of Mosaic District). The menu is pretty condensed, but continues to evolve as this is a relatively new joint. That said, a small menu often times means each and every dish is excellent (jack of all trades, master of none)? I picked up the Cucumber Tuna Cup-bob, Cucumber Tuna Rolls, and Cucumber Kimchi. All were top notch - fresh, light (healthy feeling), with good flavor. Everything tasted original and the freshly prepared. The Cucumber Kimchi had a decent kick to it (spice), so beware if you're used to less spicy kimchi. The bonus and probably what sets them apart is their focus on quality ingredients (halal meat with korean food? unheard of!). I'd love to see them add an option for 100% grass fed beef as well. Overall, I'd take this place any day of the week over a similar bowl-spot (like Chipotle or Rasa. TL;DR: A fantastic fast-casual spot to pick up some healthy/light, yet flavorful meals. Take advantage of their current "grand opening" pricing.

The bulgogi cup-bob was wonderful filled with so much well prepared ingredients and flavorful. As for drinks- Tiramisu latte is the most popular and banana bread latte is one of the new ones and was recommended to me to try by the cashier. The only thing I will say is while the menu is beautiful the drinks don't really come out looking like how I expected based on what I have seen on Instagram with all the foam and toppings.. maybe an off day but the tiramisu latte I thought had mascarpone cold foam for example.

I put in an order on the app at 11 on the dot and ordered two items- a mix plate, and a katsu/chicken bbq plate. It's now almost an hour in and it's still not done... I am questioning how service can actually operate when it takes this long for two plates to be made. Meanwhile, I've slowly seen a bunch of plates come out for people who ordered in... not quite sure when they ordered, but when I arrived, no one was at the counter for a few minutes and then someone finally came along and saw my order receipt. I will say, while I love the chain, this specific location is unacceptably slow. The bbq mix plate is also almost $30 which is a hard sell, considering it's a lot cheaper currently in places like San Diego... I'm extremely disappointed and I don't like to give negative reviews, but customer service is lacking the check in that could have alleviated my frustration (since I was told the wait would be 15 minutes tops). I wouldn't recommend L&L in Annandale unless they made changes. Service is too slow, there's a lack of communication, and the meals are way too expensive. Again- I hate writing negative reviews, but time is valuable, and a fast casual place should be better equip with adequate staff with honest timelines.
