Starline is cheap, yummy, and well located! It is such an amazing family owned restaurant. If you want a quick meal or something different. I VERY much recommend! The owner is at the register everyday with a big smile! And the store is always very clean.

While passing through on a road trip we detoured here for a quick lunch. Imagine my surprise at the eclectic mix on the menu. And imagine my surprise when the bulgogi bowl knocked my socks off. But we also loved the selection of plantain chips that made for excellent road snacks which sustained us all the way to North Carolina. This place is an under the radar gem.

Grabbed lunch here with some co-workers a few times. If not for the sign, you could easily drive past this place. Parking lot is small. They're set up a like a school/work cafeteria. Seating is limited, but it wasn't full the times we went there. I've only ordered the Korean lunch box or rice bowls, which were ok, and didn't try their Latin American or Jamaican dishes. If your looking for no-frills or grab-and-go for under $15, then this is a decent place.

Pork Belly Banh Mi tasted like pork if you had Covid and couldn't taste anything.

Got the pork banh mi with fries and soda. Pork had no flavor was very bland and tough. It had to put ketchup on it to make it eatable. Still was unenjoyable. Bread was tough (was it old?) but tomato in it was fresh. Fries were so undercooked it was pale but hard. Oh and the lettuce was starting to brown on the edges. Only noticed cuz I cannot stand soggy lettuce and know the taste of rot. Can of coke was the only thing that didn't have anything wrong with it. It's a cheap place for a lot of food. I wouldn't recommend this place if ur looking to enjoy ur meal. If u need something to fill ur belly for cheap then go for it.

Starline is located in the industrial area of Fullerton Ave. Parking was a little confusing, one section of spots was 20 minute parking and the other was for the auto place next-door. We parked in the 20 minute parking and it was fine. The beef bulgogi lunchbox is a great deal and you get great quality food for the price. The cold noodles on the side were pleasantly surprising. I loved the flavor of the beef. It even had a little kick in the aftertaste. Once we added a bit of salt to the fries they were delicious. Cooked really well with just the right amount of crisp. We added the dumplings after we placed our initial order and I'm glad we did. They were crunchy on the outside and nice and chewy in the middle. I honestly have no idea what kind of meat was inside, but if I had to guess I'd say pork or beef. What I do know is the flavor was yummy! I didn't taste the quesadilla, but my husband said it was really good and that he'd order it again. I of course have to touch on the customer service. It was nothing short of amazing. We walked in to smiling faces and fast service. I know we will be back again!

Toooooooo dry . Jerk chicken with jollof rice and plantain

I really wanted to like this place but I couldn't. Ordered several dishes from Uber eats but most of them were not good. The pork belly rice wrap tasted pretty good but I found a long hair in it, I know it's not my hair because I pulled it all the way out from the wrap/burrito. The jerk chicken and Jill of rice, as well as plantain were super dry. Curry shrimp and bulgogi bento were okay.

Formerly Cocorea Deli, seems to be under new ownership. Same great food and service though. I always hit this joint when I'm in the area for work. I always get the bulgogi lunch box for under $10 and it's consistently filling and delicious! A big pile of seasoned and sauced beef, steamed rice, noodles, and kimchi. Optional miso soup is always good too. No frills, great food. Credit cards only accepted over $5 I think.

This place was quite a great find! It's basic Deli food but they have variety and it's affordable! Me and my co-worker went and had lunch there today. I had the Carne Asada Rice and Bean bowl. It was good! My co-worker got the cheesesteak platter. She said it was really good as well. We'll definitely be coming back to try out other menu items!

Don't order the jerk chicken and jollof rice. There s was no jerk in my chicken. It tasted like lightly seasoned baked chicken. It was very disappointing for me personally. I hope this was just a fluke and they don't always send it out like this. Jollof was very overcooked and dry. Plantains were very dry. I would never order this again from this place.

The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.

I visited Mike's American after coming across it on Resy and was able to get a same-day reservation…read morefor two on Easter Sunday. As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.

Service could have been more responsive, but I think that's mostly because the servers are spread too thin. And it was never made clear if we paid our server or go to the cash register. When our server never came back after dropping off the check, we just went to the register. If service had indeed been more responsive, this would have been a four star review. As to the food, we started out with the chicken wings. They had a great texture and were topped with feta cheese and an oregano sauce. JP ordered the daily soup which was chicken lemon soup. Flavor-wise, it was good and very similar to avgolemono soup, but thinner. JP also ordered a burger. The meat and bun (not Brioche, yay!) were very good. Though, we would have preferred they use a lettuce other than iceberg. The fries had an unpleasant crispy salty exterior and were mediocre at best. I had an 11" individual pizza, with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The pizza was well-prepared and easy on the eyes. However, the crust on this New York-style pizza was soggy. But how did the pizza taste? It was fine.

Despite the crowd, service was pleasant and efficient. This is a compact, rather snug restaurant. We were seated at a two-person table next to another two-person table. JP wanted a low-carb breakfast and he was able to order what he wanted: slice tomatoes with bacon and a poached egg. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with brown gravy. I also ordered a glass of grapefruit juice. The grapefruit juice was excellent, full flavor and not sweet, like it's the real deal. I also ordered a chocolate shake. It was great and attractively presented with a cherry on top, but I had a momentary lapse and forgot to photo it. The country fried steak was excellent. It came with very good hash browns (crispy on the outside, tender on the inside), scrambled eggs and toast. Bonus points to Bob and Edith's for buttering the toast.
