We ordered dinner for two through Uber Eats. The delivery was just fine, but the food was a disappointment. We ordered two bowls (one regular and one large) with sauce on the side, miso soup, drinks, and a brownie. The bowls were decent portions. The tuna was a bit gray and gummy, but not terrible. We were short a sauce and the sauces were unlabeled so it was a bit of a guessing game. The miso soup was bland, and tasted more like onion soup. There was little to no umami and the texture was strangely both watery and gritty. The picture of the browny looked large and fresh. The reality was a small, prepackaged somewhat bitter confection. I ate it, but I certainly wouldn't order it again. The drinks were unremarkable. Overall, particularly considering that I paid over $50 for it, it was a frustrating experience. Pokeworks itself is delicious. However, the service was absolutely awkward. From the moment we walked up to order the vibe was wrong. The staff was running on empty at 7pm on a Sunday. The atmosphere was unpleasant. 3 other customers eventually. One of the staff members was struggling through out the service and made a mistake at check out. Didn't include the 9$ coupon. Then the other worker couldn't refund us or reprocess the transaction. Maybe this was a limitation of the system. If so, Pokeworks needs to fix that. If you're in need of a poke fix, I'd suggest you check out Pokeworks. Since I work in the Med Center, Rice Village is a nearby option to grab lunch. I opted to order online using their website. It's nicely organized, I chose the two protein option. They do however charge $1 extra for tuna, salmon or shrimp. But this is the first poke place I've been to that has a chicken as a protein option. I also like how you're able to opt for a 1/2 rice 1/2 salad, they also offer brown rice. I got a spicy tuna and flame cooked salmon with basically all of the veggies that they offered. My order was available for pickup right when I walked in. The staff was polite and it was clean and well organized inside. They also offer lemonade, iced tea, and other beverages. I enjoyed my bowl, the fish was cut in bite sized cubes, not sinewy or chewy. Veggies were fresh and plentiful. I shall keep this option open as a lunch spot. It's fresh, has a variety and tasty. read more

Updating my review since Pokeworks reached out to try and remedy the station, which I always appreciate. I tried going for the sushi burrito again at this location -- It was a flop for the second time. I can't give them anymore chances on this one. BUT their poke bowls are always super delicious and fresh, so I have stuck with that instead. Never been disappointed with that choice. It's nice that they have multiple locations throughout the city, so if you have their app, you can accumulate points and rewards quickly. I will say that depending on who prepares your food, you might get shorted on your portions. Poke can be pricey and sometimes it's disappointing to pay almost $20 for one meal and still feel a little hungry after. read more

Wow!! When did poke get so expensive?! I ordered a two protein bowl and it cost like $18!! They barely give you any protein (like a tiny little ice cream scoop full) and the rice was definitely portioned by scoop as well. The toppings were a bit disappointing cause they no longer have masago. I created my own bowl and thought the flavors were good - though the bowl didn't quite fill me up for the price. I've been here 2-3x now and they never have any musubi made! Overall, a quick and easy place to satisfy your poke cravings, but don't expect to fill up on the tiny portions. Worst Pokeworks experience I've had. The lady that was working there shouldn't have a job in customer service and had an attitude so bad I ended up not buying anything. I didn't catch her name but she wore really dramatic eyeliner and had light brown hair. I've never had an issue bringing my service dog with me to Pokeworks until today. She asked me if my service dog was a service dog, I said yes and yet she was really standoffish. She made me feel unwelcome and I won't be coming back to this location. While the staff today was friendly and provided good service, the rice was pretty much inedible. I ordered 3 bowls and all three had mushy rice, water was literally oozing from the rice. I had to throw out the rice and make my own sushi rice at home. Prices went up and quality went down. I hope the owner reads these reviews and retrain the staff how to properly cook rice. Walked in this week after anticipating this location's opening for months -- except that they weren't exactly opened... Grand opening is actually September 18, but they're having a soft opening until then i guess. But honestly, they made it seem like they were fully opened which I think is good to note because the service was great for them not being fully opened. The lady greeted me with a smile when I walked in, and the guy serving my food was super nice and patient. I had some of the best food for the price. The service is comparable to Chick-fil-a. The only thing missing was the famous, "My pleasure." The ambiance was nice but Mikiyel, the manager, made up for it with a well to do attitude and a hands on approach.
