Poke for me sometimes is that food that you get when you're not really sure what you want, but what you do know is that you want something healthy and quick. With that being said, Pokeworks has come in clutch a few times for me, so it's about time I gave them a review. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They're located in a shopping center in Sandy Springs. They have a few designated parking spots in the lot, but you can really park anywhere, there's no charge. Venue and Atmosphere The space is nice, always well lit, but also always empty. I myself have only dined in once, because I usually just takeout orders. But there is definitely seating both inside and outside should you feel inclined. Food and drinks If you haven't had poke before, think of this as a chipotle style place. You can order from one of their premade bowls/plates, or you can design your own. My go to is the yuzu salmon bowl, I get it with half regular salmon and half spicy salmon. Toppings and sauce are plentiful, which is always good. Service The servers there are always friendly and accommodating. I'm in and out within a few minutes, which is great because I don't have that much time on my lunch break anyway. Verdict Pokeworks works when you need a quick good, healthy lunch. Food is good but had a one time bad experience recently where I had to ask for more toppings multiple times as the employee did not want to put any food on my bowl. And every time I asked for more he would put the smallest scoops in. This led to my gf and I having no food in our bowls. What made us more upset was the following employee making other bowls for our friend was perfect. She did the toppings perfectly to the point that our friend who got a small bowl had an equivalent portion to our regular. read more

Grabbed a poke bowl from here about two weeks ago. I have recently been obsessed with Poke, and heard good things about this place. I made my own bowl with salmon and tuna. And then I loaded it up with quite literally everything. They have so many toppings to choose from, so many sauces to drizzle with, a few protein options, and so much more. They're a little stingy on the proteins, which makes sense, but I guess you can't really do anything about that. We went towards closing time, so for the proteins there wasn't too much left, but we still got a decent amount. There were 4 people in my group, and we all got our own bowl. We were not able to eat in one sitting, so we all had for lunch the next day. The only downside for this place is that they're a little stingy with the portions of everything. It always seems like they are so light-handed with the toppings and ingredients that you have to ask for more. It's a little pricey as well. Each bowl was somewhere around $13-$18. But it is a lot of food, so I guess you could say it's worth it. I'll definitely come back, but not soon, because this location is far from where I live. read more

TL;DR: Portions are much smaller than others, but seems to never be busy and it's tasty! ARRIVAL: This location is in a shopping center that has a lot of stores and traffic. They have a couple parking spots at the corner reserved right in front of their store. which makes it easy for a quick stop. AMBIANCE: The store has always felt very clean and bright. There has never been anyone else in the store while I was there eating. Today there was a woman leaving after getting an order to go and that's now the only other person i've seen here. There are definitely tables and space for smaller groups, so I'm not sure why nobody is ever in here! MENU: The menu has a few pre-built poke bowl options but i'm only here for the build your own so I haven't paid any attention to the other offerings. The also have smoothies available! FOOD: The food here is good quality and fresh. I like salmon which can easily be fishy, but it's not. and everything else is fresh. I like that the crab surimi (salad) here is an included topping and doesn't count as one portion of protein. The biggest issue I have with this place is that they scoops they use for portions....are ridiculously small. I have no issue with quantity control, but my lord. For reference, a full scoop of edamame was a whopping 5 edamame. The cucumbers were running low when I was ordering, so i thought there would be a refill but i didn't even get all of what i thought were scraps LOL. They'll fill the bowl up with rice and if you get salad it's only about half a cup of leaves. You won't be hungry after, but it's mostly just rice. CLEANLINESS: Feels super clean though the first time I came here, the floor was pretty sticky. I wish they had a little trash can near the assembly line because they are quick and expect to offer samples of the sauces, but yet there's no where to throw them away, they take it back in their hand after you've tried it and then throw it away behind the counter. SERVICE: The employees have always been friendly and have a good attitude. They're never apathetic or rude which i find very common in and around the city. EXPERIENCE: I've only ever been here when nobody else was around, so it's efficient, clean, and quick! PRICE: For the amount of food you get that's not rice, it's a bit pricey and you might as well pay the extra couple dollars to go somewhere with better portion sizes. I really love poké, so I was happy to order it on my first day in Atlanta. It was delicious, nutritious, I liked that you could add so many things without paying extra, but there was one downside. My friend and I got the spicy tuna, which she said was delicious. I disagreed because unfortunately I couldn't finish mine. It was spoiled! Of course, that's a big minus, but I won't complain too much because the rest of the ingredients were fine. My friend didn't like that they put in less salmon, but overall you can give it 4 stars and hope that the story of substandard ingredients is not about them. read more

I love Poké bowls, and decided to pick up a bowl for dinner. Upon ordering I will say that the signage was a little confusing when it came to the build your own Bowl. I just wasn't sure of the pricing and encountered a bit of sticker shock, When paying at the register, paying approximately $20 for a *small* bowl and drink. Particular to me, I use edamame and corn as my base. Maybe that's why my bowl was only 2/3 full. I would hope that is not the case, should a patron decide to add rice as the base instead, especially considering your spending $15 for the byo bowl. Typically I would not mind spending $15 for a bowl, but the small bowl size and ingredients chosen, my opinion is that the bowl should be full. The space yourself looks very clean and the staff nice. I may revisit in the future but it's a toss-up. read more

So glad there's a GOOD poke place in Sandy Springs. The other poke places in the area went downhill in recent years. This is located where a burger place used to be in the shopping center with Lowe's. Ample parking outside. I downloaded the app and placed an order for pickup. I was at the store in 10 mins and my order was just wrapping up. I ordered one of the Signature Works, the Yuzu Ponzu Salmon. I really liked it a lot! The ratio of meat to rice and toppings was balanced. The sauces were flavorful without being overpowering or over sauced. My wife got the Sweet Shoyu Tofu and enjoyed it as well. I love poke bowls so naturally, I showed up to Pokeworks for their grand opening. Considering it was a grand opening and they were giving out a 100 free bowls, I expected quality or service to suffer a bit due to a faster work pace with large amounts of customers at once, but this was not the case. Each employee was friendly and did their job quickly. When it was my turn to order, they were out of white rice at the moment, so I ordered brown rice, which is a first for me. I was surprised to see that they were allowing you to order the more expensive options for your free bowl as well, like the kale noodles and avocado. They allowed 2 protein, including a new option: seasoned lobster. I chose the lobster and salmon. From there, I essentially added every topping to my bowl and all the crunch toppings. All free of charge. As it was the grand opening, I didn't expect them to have any of their other menu items (spam musubi) so I wasn't too disappointed when they told me no. The portions were also a little less than what I'm used to getting at the other Pokeworks location in Peachtree Corners, but I also attributed this to being a free bowl. In terms of taste, it was exactly as I expected it to be and I was quite pleased with my free meal. Plus I got to have avocado with my bowl for a change since I don't usually splurge the extra $1 for that. I enjoyed the seasoned lobster a lot and am glad I had the chance to try that. Their protein cuts are big and generous. If they did this well for their grand opening, I'm sure I can always expect a good meal from here from here on out! read more

We stopped at Pokeworks for poke burritos before a concert at City Springs in Sandy Springs. We had one poke burrito with two proteins and one Bang Bang signature bowl. Although we chose to eat in, the food was served in takeout containers, and we had the impression that most of their business seemed to be takeout orders. in fact, you can order on their app and the food ends up in bags that you can pick up when you walk in. Makes you kind of wonder if people steal other orders that are waiting to be picked up. The ordering process is similar to what you might expect from a typical sandwich shop. You pick what you want (bowl or burrito) and you can choose a bowl that's already pre-designed or you can individually pick your proteins (2-3) and then choose individual toppings and sauces. I was amazed at how much food could be stuffed into a poke burrito because I was convinced that no one would be able to wrap it, but he was able to get it in there. However, with it wrapped that full, I would probably opt for a poke bowl in the future, because you can't pick up a burrito that full and hope to eat it without all the stuffing falling out, so you might as well order it bowl style anyway. The bang bang chicken and the spicy shrimp crisp protein choices were both spicier than we had expected. Ordinarily when I order bang bang food, I expect mild spicy, but these were moderate and enough that I would not have ordered the sriracha aioli as a sauce. However, the food was otherwise delicious. The atmosphere is clean and smart. It's not what you would choose for a special occasion, but for a quick meal and especially for takeout, it's perfect. Free cups are available for water if you choose not to order a beverage. The pricing is typical for poke bowl restaurants. The service was fast and polite (though admittedly the restaurant was mostly empty at that moment). I would definitely go back and I would recommend it without hesitation. read more

Customer service was terrible. Not sure if the girl was just having a bad day but wow..an AI robot would have had more info & personality than this. I had told her we tried to call to ask a question about a specialty order and she didn't care nor offer another number. The phone number at this location doesn't work. When we were in line a young man came in to use the restroom and was told it's for customers. He said I'm ordering after I go to the bathroom she was hesitant but finally gave him the code. Then he did come out and order. I understand the bathroom code, but she could've been a whole lot nicer in her delivery, I was embarrassed for her lack of empathy whatsoever. We were hoping for a fun experience we just gotten back from Hawaii and we're getting Poké bowls to share with my parents who live in Sandy Springs and we were gonna share our story of Hawaii and how friendly the people are and the great food. And this experience was Awful. We were hoping to find a new place to get poke in Sandy Springs, but we will be trying other places after this. read more

Today though when I got everything to her she said it tasted bad like something went bad. I tried it and also thought it was horrible and did not taste like how it should. So I brought it back and informed the employee that made it for me that something is off and that it didn't taste the way it should. She told me let her call her manager, so after waiting for her to call her manager she informed me that they won't be doing anything about my order and that I'm shit out of luck. lol shitty ass customer service. The poke bowls were amazing. If it wasn't for the other things I would give this place 4 stars or higher. When we came in it looked like tropical smoothie where you make your own poke bowls in front of you. There were two employees a male and female. My husband has to badly use the bathroom and it was for customers only which was ok. I was standing waiting for another woman to finish up her order and the employee let another woman cut in front of my husband to get the code for the bathroom that's only for customers. One of the two proteins I picked for my poke bowl was shrimp and I got 3 very small shrimp for one of my proteins which is an extra 3$. We get our poke bowls and our classic bobas for them to be watered down and all the boba to be rubbery and chewy especially for 6 dollars. My husband was still hungry so after he decides to get another bowl for there to be less scoops of protein than what we are paying so he has to get a large to just have less protein than a large. The service person was rude when my husband pointed it out. A large poke bowl is 18$ for 3 small scoops of protein just for reference. After my husband gets his second the worker says leave a 5 star review with the name of the worker that was rude to us for a free drink which is about 2-3$ for a can that you then have to show the camera also. The workers looked and asked like they were begging for it so you can tell this what they normally do and so feeling pressured I did it. The bathroom was dirty and there was no one there except me and my husband for about 45 minutes throughout all the time we were there. A employee went into the bathroom to use it herself and then came back out without caring about the dirtiness. 30 minutes after I leave I start having explosive diarrhea which hasn't happened whenever I do have poke bowls so I have a feeling that there may have been some kind of contamination and no I am not pregnant to feel like this and want to through up. In total we spent about 60$ and a woman comes in asking for a plastic fork or spoon so she can eat her lunch for the co workers saying no it's only for paying customers and asks us if we can get her one. If I could give a score lower than 1 star I would. Today was the first time and will be my last. I ordered sweet and crispy chicken and what I received was not what I expected. The chicken was extremely salty and the taste not pleasant. I expressed to young lady that I wanted a refund and she expressed to me that there was no manager on duty so she was unable. I then asked her to call her manager (Victoria) and she was told that I could not get a refund because I didn't like the food. I barely touched it and was denied a refund which was unacceptable. The young lady was even told not to give me the managers name which leads me to believe it's not Victoria. I was never offered an apology for being dissatisfied just no twice from the manager through the young lady over the phone. I sent a complaint to the corporate office and contacted my bank. I've attached a picture of the "sweet and crispy chicken" which is actually chicken tossed in yum yum sauce. There was nothing sweet or crispy about what I received. Normally it's good but I've paid extra for double surimi salad (imitation crab) on Door Dash and it wasn't included and Door Dash orders have also come with the bowl significantly less full. *** PLEASE READ TO THE END*** This was my second visit and it was horrible. upon entering I noticed that gloves were not being changed between preparation and check out. I did make sure the gloves were changed and I know this is were the problem came in. At checkout I was asked to give a 5 star rating for a free drink, that was fine until the owner came and told the cashier "dont give her the drink until she does the review and shows you". I advised them that I would sit there and do the review while I ate my food but who eats without their beverage. At that point I realized that when I asked for her name as the cashier gave me her name to put in the review the owner who acknowledged herself as the owner as I did not ask for this info nastly replied you dont need my name just do the reiew. At that point the customers who were advised to do the same thing were at the table with their drinks and uncompleted reviews with there heads bowed down (white customers) because they saw the wrong that was going down. Now the confusion comes because Im the only brown person who was not given their drink until thy showed the review. everyone else was given time to complete their review. How is there still racism in 2024. The owner is of asian decent the 2 food prep employees of spanish decent ( who by the way apologized for the owners actions) so how do you do that. I was never nasty or rude so to expercience this type of treament in this time is absurd. I ask for a refund and Iwas told that I could not have a refund and the owner came over and said oh you mad because we wont give you this drink its policy, I repied and thats fine but your being rude so I want my money back. I was not refunded my money hence the review being made.
