Was really excited to try this place out but was left extremely disappointed. The price is pretty expensive considering how little fish you get. The staff members have melancholy attitudes and it seems like they'd rather be anywhere else than at work. The food, when being put together, looked great but then taking a bite it tasted very off. The rice was extremely warm and that made the fish warm as well and extremely unenjoyable to eat. Don't know if they know that poke bowls aren't served with warm rice. You're better off going to Teri cafe for an Oceanside bowl or Yoshino in Carlsbad for a fresh great quality poke bowl. read more

Be careful if you are answering the add for employment. My son going for his first job was called in for an interview and then put on a "training shift". He was told that he would be contacted for future shifts by the manager "Dustin". After 1 week he contacted the manager and was told the schedule was not out yet. After the second week had gone by he contacted the manager again and asked about shifts and when pay day would be for his training. He was then informed that the training was a part of the hiring process and that they do not pay for it. He was also told that the owner had not made up his mind yet on the hiring and he was not yet actually hired. Meanwhile, he had other job opportunities that were missed. read more

Yes, good place to try. Food is fresh, service is excellent and space is very clean. It's a build your own poke bowl concept (value priced). Starting with rice or salad then your choice of three (regular bowl) or four (large bowl) scoops of poke. Three is plenty. I tried all three and yellowtail was my favorite, but all three were good. Then you fill the rest of your bowl with other fresh toppings such as, seaweed, cucumber etc. and various sauces . Good job on a quick casual concept restaurant. Enjoy! read more

Searched the hot and new restaurants on Yelp and lucked into finding this place. I love it when there is a new restaurant nearby. I loved the freshness and uniqueness of this place. Luckily my kids (5 and 9) like sushi and it was so wonderful for them to pick all there favorite ingredients to be in their own bowl and not to be shared as a group. They were able to capitalize on all their favorites. I had the half brown rice and half spring salad which I highly recommend. I also had shrimp, salmon and ahi for mains and the crab, avocado and seaweed salad for toppings. I was really happy with everything. If I could improve my experience in any way it would only be to add a few more flavorful sauce options. They had one or two and they were ok but an awesome sauce would really solidify this place as a must destination. read more

I'm a little upset about the fact that that I could tell they were trying really hard to put less fish and literally a PINCH of seaweed (When I saw how little they were putting on it, I immediately ask for extra. He said it was $1 extra for whats literally another pinch of seaweed.) they used to only up charge on avocado and which is fine. I came here for lunch today, when I walked in I was not greeted by anyone and I turned around and on of their employees was standing behind the counter, looked straight at me and said " what?!" I said I wanted a poki bowl and he said " ok?" He was extremely stingy with the scoops of fish and vegetables, and to top it off I told him I didn't want any sauces in my bowl and he put spicy mayo on it anyway. I was excited about finding a poke place near our timeshare during our vacation, but rather disappointed with their service. I get it...we walked in 20 minutes before closing, but come on...a genuine warm hello couldn't hurt, right? The man standing behind the counter looked annoyed that someone walked in and appeared ready to throw in the towel. I tried to ignore it because I was craving some poke. The portion was pretty standard and the taste was good, but not great. This was possibly influenced by the service too though. I wouldn't come back because of the service we received. It just didn't feel warm and cozy there. I really do not like giving bad reviews,but this one was...eeh and disappointing. read more

I have Had really great experiences here. The Poki bowls are delicious! However today wasn't a great experience. My $11 dollar bowl was only half full and very rushed. The line behind me had formed to the door while another coworker must have been on break or something because he came rushing in 10min later. I was really excited to try this place it I did not like it at all! I was expecting so much more. I got a large bowl with half rice and half salad. I chose to get tuna and that was a big mistake! Maybe I'm a poke elitist but this doesn't impress me at all, but I guess what can you expect from a subway type assemble your own poke bowl kind of place. The fish servings are meager the bowls are small and the sauce combo are "Meh". When I order Poke I'm expecting nice size chunks of Ahi marinated in Soy sauce and sesame oil with all sorts of onions and veggies that just make your mouth have a taste overload. This stuff is alright I guess but for my money I'd go buy a nice chunk of fresh ahi or even hamachi and make it myself. For Poke beginners sure this place will impress but anyone else knows that this ain't gonna cut it. read more

Definitely cool to have a little pop up poki spot close to home but the poki itself is very average... Get everything on it for some flavor. Service was good and it was clean. I haven't wanted to come back since my first try. I'd rather go to yoshinos in Carlsbad. They have amazing FRESH poki bowls and it doesn't break the bank. read more

I read some reviews that the fish portions are small and that is not true at all. I'm Hawaiin and the sizes here are very good. If a person got a small size more than likely it was a employee who didn't know what they were doing because 9 out of 10x the portions are very large and big. Poke is becoming A popular food right now and there are some Poke restaurants nearby but this place knocks them all of the water. For $10, you get plenty of fresh food. My daughter and I split a Regular Bowl with brown rice, ahi, shrimp, and salmon. We topped it with seaweed salad, mild sauce, and crab. There's this little white boy working there and he is A1 my dude. I don't know what you guys are teaching him but he is sooooooo informative, helpful, smart, funny. social skills crispy asf, he's also mad cute too. Like on a scale 1-10, I'd say 12. Most beautiful handwriting, so sweet, makes some good ass conversation. Out of all the employees, he was the first to catch my eye. lol i tried to peep his SC and IG cause this boy is so damn FINEEEEEEE, but he refused and said that it wasn't professional in a work environment. We enjoyed Poki Poki near Cineapolis and this location was close so we tried them and were sad that the light flavoring was too HOT and given only two scoops of crab vs three. Then we also found out that a 2nd choice of seaweed would be extra which it was not at the other location and so it went. Ultimately the biggest issue was the HOT spicy flavoring and we were given a discount of .40. Not going back. We did try them a total of three times and realized that we were going to be charged extra for what we had received at the Vista location. We were not asking for avocado or known items that cost extra. read more

I couldn't have been happier with my first bowl of poki. I'm not a fan of raw fish but the salmon and ahi tuna definitely hit the spot. I got the regular bowl with white rice, two scoops of salmon and one scoop of ahi tuna. I topped my bowl with seaweed, imitation crab meat and a bit of fish eggs.
