I've been going to this place for almost 3 years, and I have always loved it. Ever since the new owner came in (about 6 months ago), it has gone HORRIBLY down hill. Do not come here. There is no efficiency in the ordering process. There are no prices listed anywhere. The owner is running around trying to micromanage everything instead of staying at the register to complete your order. No one can hear anything because she's constantly yelling for something. She can't keep anything straight and consistently gets people's orders confused. Her new register broke down today so instead of calmly working through it, she interrupted my friends and called someone. She was on the phone for 10 minutes yelling while simultaneously trying to take people's credit cards. The owner makes a disgusted face every time you try to ask for something as simple as avocado, or extra ginger, or chop sticks. Also, I watched them make the "ramen" a few weeks ago, and the cook pulled out an instant ramen packet and put it in a pot. It's incredibly over priced and incredibly stressful trying to order your food. It just isn't worth going here anymore. The owner makes the experience so uncomfortable and stressful that you don't even want the food by the time you get it. read more

Yummmy !!! My friend took me out to this little poki spot that was hidden ass fuck! Took us about 10mins to realize that the restaurant is in the front of the building next to the green chili Parking here sucks during lunch, it gets too packed, but you'll find a parking because people are literally coming in n out The restaurant was very very clean, and the service was A1. I just had to leave a generous tip I am happy that we came to this location. I don't know if I will come back though because it was a 20 min drive from home. However I will definitely recommend it to other friends that I have around the area. read more

Food quality food, clean area, not the best plaza & parking situation during lunch on a weekday, but I would definitely return here for a work lunch. I like how you can see the food being prepared in front of you, the staff used gloves to mix your personalized bowl, and then the gloves were removed and disposed of to collect payment at the end. The portions of fish and veggie options were generous and the usual (salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, crabmeat, cucumber, ginger, wasabi, furukaki). I'd gladly return here. read more

I come here regularly and it is my favorite Poke spot. The portions are generous and they have the best sauces. Creamy Hawaiian and ponzu is my go to combo. Their sushi rolls are great too. I have not had anything from here that I did not like. The prices are amazing compared to other poke spots and the amount of food you get. I crave this place weekly. I work down the street from this place. I treat myself to this place and 1-2 times per month. Its definitely a yummy full filling meal. Everything always taste fresh and the majority of the employees are nice . I see a lot of review mentioning the "small scoops" but it's good scoops to me. It comes with so much other stuff that I get full halfway thru. Convenient location close to Compton courthouse. Parking is challenging during the lunch hour as there are several restaurants in this complex. The food is fairly straightforward as far as poke shops are concerned. I ordered the salmon, tuna and spicy tuna. Honestly, it was difficult to differentiate the flavors from one another, which is a huge drawback. I also thought that the servers did not do a great job of explaining all the different choices to me. They pretty much assume you know what you're doing when you come in there - sort of like a Subway. So they don't seem to have a lot of patience for people like me who are not experienced poke bowl consumers. I was able to eat and get out of there quickly enough, but I doubt I will return unless someone else was buying. read more

When I went inside I was surprised to see it was EMPTY (maybe I missed the lunch rush?) I was immediately helped by one of their employees who didn't really help me much with ordering but luckily they have steps on their menu on how to order the poke bowls. I ordered two bowls for me and my sister with brown rice, tuna, spicy tuna, octopus, masago, edamame, seaweed salad, and all their dressings mixed in! Probably one of the best poke bowls I've ever had!!! Their smallest bowl was the perfect portion I finished the whole thing lol. If I wasn't so hungry I would've had leftovers for sure. This place favors people. They have a chicken teriyaki deal 2 for $10, which is what I came in for. The deal started at 2:30, I was unaware because it was my first time. I had arrived at 2:05. I went to order the deal and the owner told me it was too early, so I ordered another item and decided to take a seat to wait for my order. Two customers came in 5 min after, at 2:10. They ordered the 2 for $10 deal, she allowed them to order it , after she had denied me. Food was mediocre. Lady making poki bowls didn't wash her hands after sneezing and cleaning her nose. This place is absolute garbage. Nothing in this restaurant is fresh. The ramen here is just instant noodles. The vegetables served with the chicken bowl taste old and look old. The manager and the workers are extremely dirty, they are consistently touching dirty things such as brooms, rags, their face and neck, and then handling the food without washing their hands. I honestly do not understand how this restaurant has more than 1 star. This comment is for the Yelp community that keeps leaving reviews that are not valid. We drove by this place on the way home from work yesterday and had to come back today to try it out. The owner walked us through their menu and helped us choose our meals. My husband had an Alaskan roll and pork gyoza which he said was the best he's ever had! He said you can tell it was freshly hand made. My regular poke bowl was so full that I couldn't finish it. The favors were all on point. We each had the miso soup which was yummy as well. You can get two chicken teriyaki bowls for $10 2:30-7 Monday through Friday as well. Horrible place after new ownership took over. I used to go here 3-4 times a week and I dont think I am ever going back. I keep getting stomach problems after their fish. And to make it even worse...the owner and the employees are so rude! They hardly ever return change to you when there is money left over. And if you ask for some utensils such a fork and etc....they make you go get it when they are the ones who brought food without it. I would give this place 0 stars, unfortunately I have to give them one to give my review. Today I ordered a double crunch roll at this place, this was my third time getting food from them, unfortunately today while I was eating my food I found a small black hair inside my roll (the hair was actually inside of one of the slices). When I came back to let them know about this issue, I tried to wait and talk to one of the ladies because they had clients at the moment and I didn't want to make it a big deal so they wouldn't lose clients. The lady whom I talked with the first time was very nice and understandable ( she's short, black hair and speaks Spanish). But, when she communicated this issue to the "owner" she (the owner) made it a huge deal. She was very loud and rude saying that the hair was mine, the hair was black and short, and my hair is long, curly and light brown with blonde highlights. She offered to give me another roll, but I asked for a refund because at the time I went I was on lunch from work and did not have time to wait until the next roll was ready. She got all mad, she was very disrespectful and loud to me in front of the other clients. I went outside to grab my phone since I was eating outside of the place and when I came back to get my money back I found out that she was talking crap about me to the other clients, again in a loud way. She was saying that some clients are so "delicate" and she was also saying that I was lying when I said that I had to go back to work, like if she was sure that I wasn't working. Then when she was going to give me the cash back she started saying again in front of everyone that the hair was mine. She said that "Asian hair is very thin", I found that comment kind of racist. And the funny part is that wile she was saying that ,I saw one of the guys who cooks and guess what?... the guy did not have a hair net... any of them wear a hair net including her, how can she be so sure that it wasn't a hair from them if they don't even take care of that. She gave me my money back in a rude way again and I just left. Later I decided to call and complain because I didn't know she was the owner at the time, so when I asked for the owner and told her I wanted to complain about that issue, she started yelling at me saying that the hair did not belong to them and she was actually attacking me. I told her that she's an awful business owner because of the way she treats her clients when they make a mistake and she responded saying that she thinks I'm not a good customer neither. Also she asked me to not come back, and of course I told her that of course I did not want to go back. She's delusional if she thinks I want to spend my money and support her business with her ugly attitude. I just ended up hanging up the phone. From what I read in other reviews looks like this is not the first time they have an issue with this woman. In case you need her description she is short, Asian and has light brown hair. Also it looks like she is awful with her workers. Please, don't go and support this person. Spend your money somewhere were you will be appreciated as a client. Go to Sushinaloa instead, they have the best rolls (way better than this place) and a lot of delicious food. And for sure, A BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE, or support any of the other restaurants around Poki Yaki (there is a lot of them) , I'm sure they will treat you better. read more
