    Good price for good ramen

Tampopo is always a good spot to order takeout ramen, although not my first choice , but since they're open early for dinner, Tampopo it is. The fried rice and gyoza are good choices p, as for the ramen, we usually order the Tampopo ramen. Prices are fair and the service, well for picking up is good.

First time seeing restaurant at neighboring shopping complex at corner of South Street & Pioneer Blvd, Artesia (literally sandwiched in the middle of City of Cerritos. Food was mouthwatering delicious. I love their sushi & sashimi. Service was superb, I was greeted with wonderful smile as soon as I entered the door. Seating area was clean, neat and very well organized. I love my experience at Tampopo. I will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Ramen was good, been awhile and usually go to the Garden Grove location. Large ramen is huge, good for two people. Service excellent

My family had a very disappointing experience at Tampopo tonight. My brother ordered the fried golden salmon, a dish he has ordered there before. Instead, he was served a raw sushi roll with rice, which was completely different from what he ordered. When he politely explained to the server that this wasn't his order, the plate was taken back. A few minutes later, the exact same item was brought back, only it had been dressed up with a few garnishes. It was still not the fried salmon he ordered. When my brother pointed this out a second time, the server loudly insisted that it was what he ordered and told him that if he didn't like it, he could leave. This happened in front of other customers and the rest of our family, which was embarrassing, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Everyone makes mistakes, and bringing the wrong dish isn't the issue. The problem was how the situation was handled. A simple apology and replacing the meal with the correct order would have resolved everything. Instead, the server argued with the customer and embarrassed him. This also raises a safety concern. If someone has food allergies or dietary restrictions, serving the wrong meal and insisting it's correct could have serious consequences. Hardworking customers deserve to be treated with respect. We came expecting good food and good service, but unfortunately left feeling disrespected. Based on this experience, we will definitely think twice before returning. I hope management addresses this situation so future customers don't have to go through the same experience.

As you all know I have not asked anyone who owns a restaurant give me discounts or preferences or anything what so ever!!. Every review does come from my personal experiences and yes I have helped the little guy. Because most people don't know this, independent restaurants don't make lots of money or profit. They just survive. Truth Ok, since I don't beg or ask for anything My reviews are authentic and real. I went back to Tampopo and I needed to update you guys. And to be fair and transparent I will write this week again a review on these four's establishments. Tampopo, Marie Calendar, The Crab Shack, and others. Here is the list of what I had Simple good food Salmon sashimi And salmon roll A sake hot And lots of water and wasabi No disrespect to the food or service But look at the pictures behind the house Behind the restaurant and restaurants What a shame !!!! Shame !! I don't go to any of you for free and I will expect the best from you No excuses! Either you clean up your disgusting mess all of you and I am happily to come back!!! Not supporting any of you anymore!! What is the matter ? We will control the outcome of your success in the future Because we the consumer makes you or breaks you!! How can you pretend not to know ???? Everyone drives behind your restaurants! Yes, look everyone deserves a clean restroom and a clean restaurant from the front of the house or back!!!!!! No excuses!! I don't care anymore- when you don't care about us - we keep alive. I and everyone, all your customer base is what keeps Alive!!!

My favorite place to eat Roman and have sushi with some ice cold Asian beer . Me and wife come here our regulars here we come here once a week to have dinner after a long day, especially with this cold weather nothing like some warm Ramen.

    Tampopo: spicy ramen

We first discovered Tampopo at the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020, and it quickly became our go-to comfort ramen spot! While we've tried other ramen places since, none have quite measured up and keep coming back. What sets Tampopo apart is its broth--flavorful without being too rich or oily, and with just the right consistency for our taste. We've sampled all their ramen offerings, but our favorites are the classic Tampopo and the spicy variation for times when we need a kick!

Located in tozai plaza. Parking can be limited in the evenings especially weekends. I usually eat sushi here and they are decent. Two plates is quite enough for a party of two. They do have 50% off on certain menu items and they are so worth it.

Came in today 11/23 at around 7:30 pm. Parking is limited on weekends as it gets super busy. Short wait time to be sat. The problem for me personally was the food. I ordered the chashu ramen and it was ok. We also ordered the spicy crunch role (which btw was HUGE for a sushi roll ). The roll was kinda sloppily made, and when picking it up with my chopstick, it literally disintegrated. The taste wasn't that good either. Moving on to the spicy edamame. Not sure how you can mess this up but the sauce was just way too overpowering. It was like a citrus kinda spicy?? And laying in a pool of it. As for the service itself, staff looked slightly miserable and a bit rude. When it was time to pay one of the waiters literally said nothing and placed the check down while passing by.

Service was decent. You can hear the girls talking about their personal lives while on their not so busy times. The food was not good as I expected it to be. I've had better. The salmon and the scallop did not feel and taste fresh. Their teriyaki sauce was watered down. Easy, but busy parking lot. I don't think I would come back again.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 10, 2023

The last time I visited a month ago in March 2023- there's no more outdoor seating. All indoor dining.

    Do you require vaccine card?

No they did not ask for vax card - but i did have it in case.

Am I the only one having trouble calling it always sounds busy?

When the line is busy, it means we are on the phone with a customer!

Is it possible to get ramen with no MSG?

Do you guys do UberEast, DoorDash, or Postmates? I'm over in Westchester and would like to frequent Tampopo more often.

The restaurant wasn't full yet but it filled up very quickly after we sat down (shortly after Shinsengumi opened). There's a decent amount of seating inside and it's very lively. We had our kids with us and didn't feel too self conscious when they were making a ruckus lol. I got their Tokyo Yatai ramen with extra noodles and an additional side of curry rice. It's a solid meal if you're by yourself. I'm not sure why it's called Yatai but I understand that word is associated with those shop stands that cook food on the side walks. I'm a big fan of food stalls so this bowl of ramen gave me those kind of vibes. I loved it. It was well balanced and the noodles were delicious! The side of curry was delicious too! I'd definitely come back here regardless of what's going on at Shinsengumi next time!

Staff were super attentive and kind. Got the dip ramen (aka tsukemen) in regular size. The portion is just right. Noodles are thick and chewy. The dipping broth is so well flavored and goes amazing when dipped with the noodles. I liked the broth so much I tried it on its own, but it was too salty and not meant to be used for drinking. The ramen came with half an egg, and a slice of chashu. Egg was perfect- not too runny or cooked. Chashu was tender. Really loved this and will definitely come get it again. Fried rice side- really flavorful and tasty. It had some meat pieces and fishcake pieces inside. Gyoza - got the kurobuta and garlic flavor. Unfortunately this fell short of my expectations as the top of the skin wasn't crispy at all. The filling was juicy, but had a bit too much ginger taste to it.

They only have a couple of locations in SoCal, so there's usually a wait, but it's definitely worth it. The staff are wonderful. My go to is the Tonkotsu since that's what they're known for, and it was delicious. This time I decided to try the Black Devil Ramen, which combines their black garlic oil tonkotsu broth with their spicy tonkotsu broth. I'm really glad I switched it up because the black garlic gave the broth a much deeper, richer flavor, and the little bit of spice balanced everything out perfectly. I love spicy ramen, but not when it's so spicy that you can't taste anything else. Also added the Everything Topping and extra green onions because I'm feeling hungry. The extra veggies make it even better and definitely satisfied my hunger. Definitely one of my favorite ramen spots outside of Little Tokyo. If you're ever in the Torrance area and craving ramen, this spot is worth checking out!

The food was actually quite good. We both had a bowl of the Black Devil ramen at a spice level of 4. I was worried that this would be too much but it was actually a very manageable level of spice. The type of spice where I can still enjoy my food and not have to worry about eating it through hiccups or anything like that. I also had a side of the spicy katsu cutlet, which I also enjoyed very much. They brought me one big piece of chicken katsu and some scissors to cut it up, which I thought was neat. But every bite I had was wonderful, as it was clearly fried to perfection. The service was also on point and our server even let us try some of their devil sauce ( I do not remember if this was what it was called but it sure was spicy). A few drops of this in my bowl of ramen and I began to sweat profusely. She said barely anyone ever orders it and I can totally see why haha. She was also super nice to us and overall provided some excellent service, I did not quite catch her name. The interior of this place also feels quite small, but it is well ventilated. Just be mindful if you get up and walk around because there are people eating to your left and right.
