I think Poké Bar is my favorite poke spot! It's set up similar to a Chipotle style lineup. They have three different sizes. Then you choose your base (rice or greens). Next you get to personalize your poke. You choose your protein/fish and mix ins and sauce. They mix it for you then top it on your base. You also get 2 choices of sides and a plethora of toppings. They have avocado too which is only a buck extra! I've seen other places charge double and give less. Craving Poke, so ordered from Poke Bar for lunch today. I ordered a medium bowl, with lettuce as the base and got salmon, tuna, and tofu as the protein. Things tasted fresh enough, but there was barely any fish and tofu added to my bowl. There were about 6 pieces of the fish and random tofu splattered in. I got mixed greens as the base to get more veggies in, and there was so much lettuce. It was more lettuce than fish and tofu. The lettuce was also brown and did not look appetizing at all. I didn't get dressing on my bowl, because I opted for the seaweed salad on top, which usually comes with a lot of flavor. This bowl had no flavor at all. This place is just meh. I wasn't impressed at all. I was hoping we'd really like it so I could bring my son here weekly after his training sessions. The customer service is seriously lacking. The guy behind the counter clearly didn't want to be here. He didn't even blink when I walked in with my son and said hello to him. I told him I'd never been there before and wasn't sure what to order. He didn't even offer any suggestions. He just grunted and pointed to the menu above his head. The bar was blocked off with tape and a table. I get it, it's the time of the coronavirus, but my son is 8 and couldn't even see the ingredients. My son and I don't want to stare at words on a wall menu. The food is right in front of us. I wanted to see what I was actually ordering and putting on my plate. Not a dealbreaker though. I understand times are weird right now, but when I felt like I was annoying him by taking my time looking at the menu, I said sorry and told him I couldn't see the food. Again, he just grunted and pointed at the menu above his head. I was buying 4 different plates to take home to my family, and not once did he offer any recommendations. I then let him know that all the plates but the first small one needed to have cucumber salad. He gave us the seaweed salad for all of them instead. When I told him that he'd made a mistake, he used his tongs to take the seaweed salad back out of my bowl and put it back into the container that he took it out of. Watching him cross-contaminate the seaweed with the mayo sauce, fish, etc. disgusted me for their future customers so I told him to just leave the rest the way they were...so he did. No apology, and no attempt to make it right. At first I thought maybe there might be a language barrier, but he understood everything I said. For instance, when I told him I needed three more bowls after the first one, and he waved his hands/arms around and told me one at a time. In regard to the poke...the spicy tuna is decent. Nothing special, but it wasn't bad either. We got the firecracker tuna as well, and it was SUPER chewy. I was spitting every other bite out while I was eating. Finally, I just gave up and threw my food out. Also, my plate didn't look half as nice as what I see pictured throughout their business page here. Mine was really sloppy and unappealing. All in all, I had high hopes for this place because my son LOVES poke. Unfortunately I'll have to find another spot to take him to. I also wanted to mention that I got a couple of the medium-sized bowls which included three proteins. Decided to stop by in Kent and saw this poke spot so I went to try it out. I love poke and I have tried many different spots and I would say this is not nearly as good as other places. This restaurant is very clean and has wonderful staff but their poke is just not good. The fish you can tell was not fresh, came from frozen and very chewy and icky, I didn't finish my fish pieces and had to eat around them because I couldn't get past eating them. Ordered through Uber Eats. The worst poke I've ever had. The salmon was all mashed up into very tiny pieces, I couldn't tell if it was salmon or possibly tuna. But I ordered two scoops of salmon and some of the dish had normal sized salmon like I would expect with salmon poke the rest was small mashed pieces of something. The spicy salmon did not have any flavor. The crab salad wasn't great either. It was basically a ton of rice and 1 small scoop of salmon and 1 scoop of something unidentifiable. The seaweed salad was the only good thing but it tasted the same as other poke places. Tried Poke Bar via Uber Eats. Not sure about the service but I will comment on the food. I grew up in Hawaii, and poke is my go to. There is only a couple places I'd go for poke in Seattle, and this is not on my list. My order had something missing. I ordered a medium bowl with white rice, salmon, ahi and the house ahi. I got seaweed salad, cucumber salad and imitation crab salad as my sides. My imitation crab was MISSING, and I had to pay extra for it. I also topped it off with Furikake (mixture of shredded roasted seaweed and sesame seeds), Masago (fish eggs), and fried garlic. The sides were good, rice was a bit wet but good. The fish, I definitely could tell it was frozen, especially the ahi. Based on the texture and taste, it was definitely frozen. And the sauce just tried to mask it. I also didn't like that all my poke was stacked on top of each other so I couldn't enjoy each different serving. I mean I mix it up anyway, but still, a good poke bowl should have a nice layout so we can taste all the flavors not all bunched up together. I'm not sure if they were in a hurry or what. PROS I came here two days in a row and I'm very impressed by the large selection of food to choose from for your poke. I also like how they would mix everything up for you, and the taste is amazing. CONS It's located in an awkward place and there's only one entrance to get to the place. (I missed the entrance few times and ended up in an industrial area filled with giant trucks.) The food are also in paper bowls. If you get rice for your poke, a lot of it sticks onto the bowl so it could get hard to eat. I also normally get salmon for my poke, but the amount they give is quite small compared to the amount of rice. RESULTS Although there are few flaws, this is still a restaurant I would go to often. Its quick, easy, and really tasty! It fills me up quick as well, but makes me want to come back for more later. If only they could possibly cut the proteins a bit bigger (or get bigger spoons to scoop), it would be even better. read more

The fish tastes fresh, and the spicy options really mean it. It's more in the peripherals you see a difference. The orange and white furniture seems almost a variation on Pinkberry. The fountain drinks are by Stubborn, which turns out to be Pepsi's craft soda brand. The big screen TV runs a K-pop YouTube list, but, strangely, the music you hear is a local radio station. Poké Bar has a "Happy Hour" from 2:30 'til 5:00. With regular order fountain drinks for free, and you get 10% off your bowl. List price for bowls is $10.95-$14.95, depending on size. They use a paper tray to mix everything in and then transfer to another container. what was the point of that.. to save time from washing dishes? My total with an additional charge of sides was like $16. I don't feel like that was worth it for the amount of poke I got. The salmon was cut thin and small and not really in chunks like most poke spots. I think they need to revise their portions. I think the poke was good?! I had never been to a Poke bar, but have had it before where it was an item on a menu and sushi is one of my favorite foods. I couldn't wait to try this place! I went in last Friday (4/14) and was greeted by wonderful service! They helped walk me through the different items you get and gave wonderful suggestions on what I should order. I talked with them about how excited I was that this location was no longer a Taco del Mar and that I work right around the corner. The owner was sitting nearby and heard me talking, she told the servers to give me a bowl of miso soup with my order. I also had a soda. Everything was amazing! The Poke had wonderful texture and flavor and I was surprised at all the items that are included in a bowl! In a small I had a large scoop of white rice, a 2 oz scoop of raw tuna, 2 oz scoop of raw salmon, edamame, cucumber, green onions, all mixed with house dressing and spicy mayo, then topped with crabmeat and seaweed salad! Miso was flavorful and they serve "Stubborn" soda brand, no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. They gave me a couple taster cups so I was able to try a few. They were all delicious! I couldn't stop thinking about it all weekend and went back yesterday and ordered the same bowl in a medium (extra half scoop of rice and another scoop of protein). A large diy poke bowl will cost you 14$ for two generous portions of rice, 8 oz of fish (up to four choices between tuna salmon octopus scallop spicy tuna tofu and albacore) with a variety of toppings. They also have a small or medium size. Very similar style to subway or chipotle. Their green tea drink was not great and wouldn't come back for that. It is just cold green tea, unsweetened. And they should leave sugar packets for that because it needed some or make a sweetened version along with unsweetened. read more

Wow what a great find. I had the small poki bowl prepared by Lawren and her helper Deb_O_Rah. Yes that is the proper spelling of these two young ladies names. It's really cool you get to build your own Pokebowl by choosing the size, the base, your protein, The mix-ins, the flavoring, garnishes, sides and there's also option for a la carte. I had the fresh ahi tuna with the peppered cooked Albacore as my base. The protein was fresh. The mix-ins were cucumbern green onion, cilantro and jalapeno. The flavors were the number four combination of dressings which was a spicy mayo the house dressing and I think it was wasabi shoyu with sesame oil. The garnish was crispy onion, crispy garlic which I highly suggest, and I got Wasabi as well. The side of crab meat and seaweed salad topped it off. A complimentary miso soup was offered probably cuz she saw me taking a picture of this bowl but that's what makes great customer service and why I'm giving this a 5-star Yelp. Mmm. Convenient fast and tasty not to mention so very reasonable compared to me spending $20 on a sushi order. read more
