Talk about aesthetically beautiful! Cannot express how cool it was slowly rotating throughout dinner to see all the views of Atlanta. Our waitress was probably the best waitress I've ever had. Such a great personality, very knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and overall a joy to interact with. The drinks were a whole experience... depending on what you order, certain things come in a box that you open with smoke coming out, others need to be torched before drinking, it was quite fascinating (and delicious). And the food was outstanding! My whole party raved about how delicious everything was. I will say, everything is a bit on the pricy side but all things considered it's well worth it! A hidden gem! This place was recommended to me and my fiancé and I decided to give it a try and the Polaris did not disappoint. The ambiance was perfect on a Friday evening. There is a separate elevator to the restaurant which is nice. Our server, Jay was so sweet and knowledgeable. The GM even stopped at our table and introduced himself. Romantic date night location!!! My Hubby took me took Polaris, and I loved it there. It's a revolving restaurant at the top of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The service was impeccable. We never had to look for our waiters. They were extremely helpful. And, our food was amazing!! We had the Fried Oyster Rockefeller and Escargot Poutine to start. They were both delicious, but, I loved that poutine more. It was smooth and creamy. Similar to a soup with escargot in it. For our meals, I had the duck with kimchi pancake. The duck was succulent, and the skin had a nice crisp. But, that kimchi pancake left me wanting another one! I don't even generally prefer kimchi. But, that pancake was the perfect accompaniment to the duck. And, the sauce served with it was perfectly sweet, salty. I'd order it again and again. My Hubby ordered the Polaris Steak Oscar. He loved it and ate every bit. I tasted it and it was really good. Overall, amazing experience!! My Hubby can surprise me with the place again anytime, and I'd be extremely excited to go! Tip: There's a separate line to get up to Polaris, with an attendant, at the elevators in the center of the hotel. And, don't forget to get your parking validated! I love cheesecake and never met a cheesecake I didn't enjoy. Until now. This was the worst cheesecake I ever had. The crust was so dry (how can cheesecake be dry??), and the basil oil & olive oil powder not only made it even more dehyrated but looked an unappetizing shade of green and almost tasted bitter. The cheesecake itself barely had its iconic cream cheese flavor. And where was the peach in all this? Scooping up the peach droplets scattered around the plate was a pitiful experience for me. A really unique spot that I'm glad I got to experience! I made a dinner reservation for a Saturday a couple months in advance (which was even a bit hard to get, so definitely book EARLY in advance) for a party of 2 in lounge seating. We arrived on time and were taken up the Hyatt elevator to the restaurant. It's a really cool experience! It's sort of like a donut spinning around, while the center remains still. So we did a full circle in the 90 minute reservation period. I highly recommend booking a reservation around the sunset, the view of the skyline is really great! For food, we got the charcuterie board and spanish octopus - both were 10/10 amazing! Full of flavor. We got the daiquiri and solomons' revenge in our first round of drinks, and then got the pina colada and peanut butter cup martini (which came with a whole presentation) which were all great! It was a very cool experience that I recommend all ATL people to try at least once. The service was phenomenal as well, our waitress was so so kind, bubbly, and attentive. My daughter and I stayed in the Hyatt Regency for a night and, of course, wanted to enjoy a drink or two at the Polaris. It was great. The service and the cocktails were top notch and the atmosphere as relaxing and pleasant as any I can remember. I first visited the Polaris as a child for lunch and later, in the 1970s, for a beer with a friend. It was great then but is even better now. Perfected really. Our only complaint was that it was difficult to get in. Our status as guests of the hotel meant nothing. Reservations were expected even for cocktails but nobody bothered to inform us of this when we reserved a room nor did they bring it up at check-in (and one of the main reasons we stayed at the Regency was to experience Polaris). The website does not address this although there is a place to make a reservation. There was no waiting list but we were informed to "check back in 30 minutes". We waited around and eventually they found a place for us late in the evening and, again, it was worth the wait. A better system is needed for hotel guests. Chelsea gave us a nice table, our waitress was lovely but... the octopus was tough and our entrees were not hot. Getting to the restaurant is an experience in itself as you zoom to the top of the building for a unique dining experience. Our bartender was top notch and gave us great recommendations for food and beverages. The restaurant slowly spins to give you a 360 view of Atlanta! The white asparagus was delicious. My dinner companion had the mushroom with soba noodles and it was the best comfort food. We ended with an amazing chocolate mouse! Really great date night spot. My date gets a little motion sickness so I would consider that when choosing this location. I have never had that issue and while I didn't feel sick I definitely felt the movement in my peripheral vision. I would do it again. My significant other probably wouldn't. That said...the portions were small-ish, like most of my fine dining experiences (and I'm a big guy) but they were adequate. The flavor in the foccacia bread ($11) the sea bass and the lamb was outstanding. They valet park you as a courtesy. Our server, Su, was very sweet and attentive. I think the best part of this restaurant is the fact that it's revolving.. as far as drinks, staff (at the restaurant) and the ambiance that alone is a 10/10. Aside from that, don't waste your money. The food was extremely bland and mediocre for the price we paid. I think my favorite was the dessert, I loved the different techniques and textures that were used. This is the only item on the menu that everyone needs to try. They change their menu often as well so we MIGHT give this a try again but I'm not too keen of this place at the moment. Better quality and taste at other restaurants in Atlanta for a cheaper price and makes you wanting more. Nothing about this place made me want more. The valet staff is incredibly rude and made us wait over 20 minutes before we even got our car. The people in front of us said they were waiting for over 20 minutes as well (they were staying at the hotel and ended up ubering). I have a big threshold when it comes to patience but they were there smoking and talking. Very unprofessional for such a high end place. We only ordered appetizers: charcuterie board, pork belly ramen, swordfish, and the sourdough bread. Charcuterie board was really good with a lot of flavors going together. The swordfish (with caviar) really stole the show though, I would have ordered 2 of those if I knew how good it was going to be. Sourdough bread was soft and went well with the butter and olive oil as well. Pork Belly Ramen underwhelmed me a bit. Our server was engaging attentive to our needs and was really helpful with recommendations. Prices are a bit expensive but I guess that's something you live with for the view. A rotating bar/restaurant atop of the Hyatt Regency, this place feels like an old school lounge where pilots and flight attendants would indeed hang out. The bar rotates just enough for you to actually feel it if you're paying attention. I ordered a Pineapple on Peachtree as well as the lamb ribs--each were amazing with a hint of sweetness but also some kick. Me and my girlfriend went here for our special day. Fortunately got a reservation during sunset hours and the service was great. We ordered three dishes Lamb chops, half duck roast and a pistachio orange desert. The lamb chops and desert were delicious. The bird roast was not our kind but we ordered it because there were very few options as we don't eat beef or pork and no chicken at all. I ordered the Polaris Steak Oscar the portion size was fairly small but everything was delicious and complimented everything on the plate very well. Due to the portion size I ranked my meal a 8/10. My boyfriend ordered the Steelhead Trout which was also very delicious but he only liked the trout everything else on the plate he wasn't too impressed with he ranked it a 7/10. As a complimentary birthday freebie they offered my bf 3 options either a free dessert of his choice, a free shot of alcohol or a free glass of champagne. He went with the free glass of champagne! Something extremely unique about this restaurant is that it rotates while you're eating and offers breathtaking 360 degrees views of the city. Parking was full that day, I think there was an event, so we ended up parking around the corner for $7 in a lot. The elevator ride up was pretty cool, and a lot easier to manage than the one at sky view. This restaurant still spins, but since it's lower lower than sky view, a large chunk of the view is blocked by other tall buildings. The service is really great, and my REALLY loved the charcuterie spread and the sour drink. The food was.. okay. Which tends to happen at these type of restaurants - I feel like I paid for the atmosphere more than anything. The pork chop: t-bone wasn't tasteful. Maybe the seasoning wasn't to my palate. But the presentation was great! The fish fish (can't remember the exact type of fish) was really good! Located within the Hyatt hotel, the ambience was nice. As the restaurants rotates, the view on the outside changes from different buildings, and on the inside changes from the lounge area to the open kitchen. Food came out fairly quickly and the waitress was very friendly. The mocktail was just grapefruit juice. The GA Olive Oil Confit Spanish Octopus was good. It had unique ingredients, like the olive oil powder and olive dust. The main entrees were Sous vide wild boar & sweet potato gnocchi, and Polaris steak Oscar filet and NY strip (side was asparagus+lump crab and mashed potato placed under the steaks). The boar dish was a big no...the meat had no specific flavor and was too mushy, and the gnocchi tasted nothing like the chewy gnocchi that I know. But the steaks were amazing. Perfectly cooked, melted in your mouth, and the mashed potato was also good. I enjoyed it just for the experience itself of a revolving restaurant (which you can feel), but the fact of being seated at some long table with a lamp (like a college library desk) and some other factors was a bit of a downer. read more

The curved bar offers a bird's eye view of downtown Atlanta, although recently erected buildings block the views in some directions. Some excellent choices from the cocktail menu include the smoky Tobacco Manhattan, the lemony Bee's Knees, and the crisp Ginger 75. For noshing at the bar, the rosemary sourdough loaf - warmed, sliced and served with creamy butter - is a good value if you just want a light snack. The cheese and charcuterie board is perfect for sharing. After watching the chefs in the open kitchen prepare the pork belly appetizer, we couldn't resist ordering it. This place should have been a speak easy it was so tough. The receptionist logged us in and up we went. Found a great table for the six of us with great views. Waitress was phenomenal. The purses they carry were weird until we realized it was the only place they could put pens, etc with the required dresses they wear. No, not that kind, waitresses are just dressed up. I had a few mixed drinks and all were great. Only surprise was that they ran out of peach flavoring so none of their signature Peach daiquiri. Someone in the procurement side of things needs a dork slap. I had the steak Oscar. It was perfect for me at the time at a little less than 6 ounces. Well cooked, great meat, better Demi glaze on solid mashed potatoes. The bearnaise sauce was a great add. Off to the side was a new thing for me and I loved it: a little cup of asparagus, onions and real chunks of crab. Win! Definitely more than bar food and less than a full meal. We had a reservation at 7:15 although we showed up 35 mins early and got seated right away! Our server was so caring and make sure everything was perfect. Amazing customer service! The restaurant is pretty small but the vibe was very fancy lounge. since the restaurant spins, we were able to see the chefs cook the food which we loved seeing. The food was amazing. I've never been to a restaurant where the food AND dessert were amazing. Although the meal is a small portion which was expected. i was 2 bites in and already loved the meal.
