Poler Stuff has been around a number of years, of which I'm an occasional online buyer. I did walk into their (now closed?) "brick and mortar" store a number of pre-COVID years ago, but came out with nothing or some little trinket. Poler's designs are cool and my latest purchase (a Japanese made Dopp) is really cool and with just the right size and features. Other more substantial items (like tents and backpacks) look a bit pricy, but then I don't really know what I would be looking for, nor am I the rugged outdoor type that understands price vs. value. read more

I've gotta admit, they've got some cool designs, but the good news ends there. The gear is wildly overpriced and poor quality, and the customer service is non-existent. My tent poles snapped the first time I took my tent out. I tried emailing, calling, and instagramming them, and never heard back. I'd like to support smaller, local businesses, but you should probably save your money and just go with REI. Will update if I hear back, but it's been a few weeks already so I'm not holding my breath. read more

Bought a backpack from them last year to bring bag gifts from my trip to Spain. This fits so much stuff in it. So many useful compartments. I've taken it on multiple vacations, river, beach, camping, etc..... It still looks as great as the day I bought it. Very comfortable as well. read more

My review is similar to others. I received 2 adventure camping chairs that were intended to be Christmas gifts for family. When the products arrived the quality seemed cheaply made for the price I paid. Additionally, one chair appeared to be "used". I have reached out several attempts via email to request a return with no reply. The return policy states to send an email to a provided address with your order ID #. There is no customer service phone number even listed so I am out of luck reaching anyone to assist further. It has been well over a month with not reply. HQ location is CLOSED until sometime 2019. They have all the windows papered up and a sign on the door that reads: "The Poler Stuff store is under reconstruction, see you in 2019". There is no information on when in 2019 though. It would have been nice to know more information from them about the store being closed- i.e. a closed for business until 2019 message in their voicemail, on their google listing, on their yelp page, and Facebook. Maybe smoke signals are more their style. Any how they such an active customer base you would have thought they would have let them know something and kept them a little more in the loop. Bought a packable backpack online among other things and this bag ripped two days into my trip. I was very disappointed! I thought perhaps by sending them an email it would be resolved since they seem to stand for their products. Good news they have a one year warranty on most items, bad news if it's a product they no longer sale they will not send you a different color... I've literally gone back and fourth and they can't seem to help me. They want to give me a small credit so that I can buy something else. The problem is I don't wanna buy anything else.... Ordered $110 in clothing from Poler online. The order never arrived- and I've never lost another package delivered to my home. Ever. I attempted to track the order but the tracking link was broken. When I emailed Poler support they indicated they couldn't find the package either, but would not issue a refund. Totally felt like I was scammed. All I gotta say is what happened the Poler Outdoor Stuff that I knew and loved. Their previous website has been taken over by another company and are now just "Poler" with a lack of outdoor stuff. I have a camera back, bottle opener, and sleeping bag from them. I was planning on purchasing more items for a solo camping trip I'm going on only to realize that this new Poler only has clothing and sleeping bags. What happened? I need answers! I bought a rain jacket from Poler that I LOVED more than any Columbia or North Face I've had, but the zipper snapped off on a bus a couple weeks ago -- was hoping I could go in for a repair, since they're local and were SUPER kind when I bought the jacket. Looked them up online, and saw that they weren't selling stuff again until 2019. "oh, maybe they just don't have stock for online," I thought. So I walked by the store to see what was going on - and they were closed there too. And not just, "oh, we're not open this season," but a full on windows-covered-in-paper closed. Some Instagram comments seem to indicate that they've filed for bankruptcy, so now I guess I have to repair this jacket myself. Ugh. Oh well. read more

Poler has some very rigid return policies which make me never want to shop there again. Received a medium for Christmas from my girlfriend. A bit snug, hoped to return for a large on a Sunday. Was told all sales final but if I wanted to pay the difference (bought on Black Friday/all sales final) I could get a large. Or email customer service the next day and appeal to them. Emailed, no response, called, told the same thing. And, now it's past 30 days since Black Friday, so I'm out of options. I never write reviews, this warrants a terrible one. read more

On a trip to Portland about a month ago we had lots of fun exploring inside the shop. Quality products! The employee was very helpful and had it not been for him, we might not have bought anything. He pointed us to the fleece jackets on sale and my sister-in-law bought two. I think it would always be worth it to pop in to check out their gear whenever I'm in town. read more

They have some really interesting and stylish camping/hiking/outdoor gear. The store is very comfortable to be in and the clothes and gear are easy to get to. The staff is super friendly and when we started discussing music genres they changed their pandora station to SRV for us while we were there! We didn't purchase anything at this visit, but if you are looking for different options that what you usually see from outdoor retailers, this is a great place to start! read more

I purchased an item from them and they have allowed it to sit in the FedEx facility for over a week because they failed to even put my address on the label. They put not even half the address all they put was the name of my college and my name and that's it meanwhile I put my full address in the order (obviously). I finally called FedEx to ask why it has not been delivered yet and they told me this information as well as that only the sender can change the address. I have called multiple times and emailed and I have gotten no answer, since the package has now been sitting there for over a week they are returning it to the sender and I will have to file a claim with my bank. Not sure how a company can be so careless and have such poor customer service. read more

Terrible return policy and customer service. I had to return a nap sack that I purchased as a Xmas gift for a smaller size. I contacted Poler via emai. The response was we are not accepting reurns because we are out of the item and will have a new line in spring. I replied asking how I return the item so when they get the new items they can replace it. No answer. Couple weeks later, I called & was informed I could get a store credit but I had to mail it to the store. They would not issue a label because the warehouse was closed. I had to return it at my cost which came to $32, one-third the price of the item. Over three weeks later, no store credit email. Tracking number indicated it had been delivered three weeks prior. My wife didn't like hers so I requested return/refund for one of them and was told that it was against their policy. Their policy is ridiculous. They are not accepting returns on anything bought from Nov. 2020 to Feb. 2021 which is pretty much holiday gift buying time. This is a trendy newer shop, the building looked empty for years, now if a shop closes it fills fast. My first thought when I walked in was it looked rustic. That was followed by "this is where the 25-35 year old guys get their cloths. You know the ones that look like they are about to go for a hike? When we got looking at the stuff they have some really cool stuff. I bought a battery powered lamp with some nice features (you never know when the power will go out, useful other times to...). They have all kinds of stuff for camping. I doubt I will do alot of shopping here, but I will be back, those lamps would make good gifts and I got the last one in stock...for me. read more

The other day I met two very awesome, rugged and stylish friends for the afternoon. To our surprise, between the three of us we were wearing one pair of Poler pants, one Poler shirt, two Poler hats and carrying two Poler backpacks. But why wouldn't we? Poler is just as awesome, rugged and stylish as we are! While I will hike and putz around in nature with the best of them, I'm probably more lumbersexual than lumberjack, and as a result Poler is probably just my speed. I get a sense that it's a bit more style over substance, but damn if it isn't stylish. Their vests and jackets would keep you warm and their outdoors accessories would do the job that they set out to do, but I don't think this is the first place I'd go to get a tent or sleeping bag. The store is designed and merchandised incredibly well, and it's a fun environment in which to shop. The staff is friendly and everybody and everything within these four walls has an aesthetic that I appreciate. Poler probably won't meet the needs of somebody trying to go on a multi-day hiking excursion, but if you want to just stay warm and dry on the trail - and look awesome while doing it - then Poler Outdoor Stuff is A-OK. read more

I purchased a backpack for my son. The pack itself is more expensive than most standard brands. But my son really wanted it. He heard about it from his classmates at school. The bag did not protect from any of the elements. His things were wet. His journal was destroyed. The bag had 2 broken elements and the straps were difficult for me to adjust. These men have created the illusion of a lifestyle in which they seem to worship nature. I believe if they worshipped nature they would not manufacture these products in China. I believe if they respected their target market, the bags would be made well. Tested. Their profit margin must be sky high. They are marketing sincerity. They are making millions off of it. Man I love this spot! I stumbled upon it while buying books at Powell's. One of my buddies told me they had some really cool stuff so I walked over and checked it out. Glad I did!!! Poler makes really cool outdoor clothing with fun graphics and super sweet colorways. I'm in love with their tees, backpacks and hats... totally different than what I was expecting and I even found some great gifts for my friends back home. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I received a wrong order a month ago and instantly received a response saying "I'll update you with the next steps" and have had absolutely no constant since then via email. I DM'd on Instagram 2 weeks later hoping that would get a response and it did - they said it was a 2 man show and that customer service had a lot of emails and should get to me within the next day or two. Well here I am a whole month after the wrong order has been received and absolutely nothing has been done about it. I know they used to be Instagram popular before they disappeared off the map for quite awhile - this is probably why. While I really enjoy the design aspect and customer service of this brand, the build quality to their items is flimsy and cheap. I bought one of their tents, only to have the casing rip on day one. Took the tent out twice and the aluminum poles broke. If their engineering ever improves I would love to give them a better review. Their sizing for apparel is also inconsistent. Have always liked the brand, but now with the new owners the customer service has been terrible. I ordered a Napsack and realised that I selected the wrong size. I e-mailed customer service within 10 minutes of placing my order but they indicated they could not cancel or alter the size for me so I received the order with the incorrect size. Now after multiple e-mails to try and return for the correct size they have not responded at all. Very disappointed in the customer service. Cannot recommend buying from them. read more

Their stuff doesn't last. My kid used a backpack for less than 45 days and the should strap frayed off and came off the pack. It clearly wasn't stitched properly. The trim also frayed. Poor customer service. We bought it at warehouse sale and they wouldn't replace it. read more

Sleeping bags for $120 that are not even very thick, and will get filthy the moment you take it outside. Bought the tourist backpack because I LOVED the concept and features: can be used as a fanny pack with an expandable compartment when you need more space, padded back support, waist strap. Unfortunately, the quality just does not live up to the design. I had one backpack rip at the seam my FIRST time using it. Thankfully, Poler customer service was great about sending me another one when I contacted them about the defect. I was hoping it would be a one-off, but my NEW, replacement ALSO ripped in the same place my FIRST time using it. I will contact customer support again and see what they have to say, but I believe this is an overall design/materials quality flaw. I think this quality issue could be improved simply by using a double seam at high wear/load-bearing seams and using a higher quality nylon. Again, GREAT concept, unfortunately, poorly executed this-time-around. I'm giving 3 stars because although I'm quite disappointed by my first products, I'm rooting for you as you grow and learn, Poler! read more
