Okay, I got a full set and a pedicure. This really nice man did my pedicure and he was extremely nice. I normally don't do pedicures and he was great! Elsa did my full set and I'm beyond impressed. Made an appointment and even came early only to be seated 20 min after my appointment time. The pedicure was one of the worst pedicures I've had. It literally lasted 20 min (including polish time) for the basic pedicure. They seem to not care about their customers unless you're a regular because people kept walking in and they were hardly acknowledged. Polish Box has some of the best nail art as well as manicurists of any salon I've been too. They are always kind and as long as you tell them what you want or guide them everything goes well. My hands are always battered from whatever work I am doing and all of the workers there do incredible jobs to get it done today. Acrylics, gels, regular, mani, pedi, they do it all. I've been there several times and it's my favorite place to get my nails done. Tell them what you want (they understand or show them a picture) and they always deliver. Even if something goes wrong just come back in and let them know and they will fix it for you for free, I've seen them do it several times if something flukey happens. I have been to this nail salon many times and their pricing is decent, but do yourself a favor and make an appointment with the sisters or their mom because all of the other techs work isn't up to par. Their mom's work is FANTASTIC! Her shaping is beautiful and she can honestly do anything you ask her or show her. Each time I've had another tech besides her or one of the sisters, my nails either break or start to lift within a week as well as have bad paint jobs where you can see the lines in the polish. There was specifically one nail tech that did my nails HORRIBLY and I came back within a week and their mom even said they were bad and asked me who did them. My last set, picture shown, I was disappointed with the work and ended up getting them fixed on my vacation in Long Beach. The corner broke off the day after I got them done at polish box. the tips did not have enough acrylic on them, because I could bend them down. Short story: they ended up almost double charging me for a service. When I first came here I came with my mom and sister. My sister and myself got both a full set and a pedicure. My mom got a new full set with gel and designs. 2 weeks later my sister and myself came back for a fill. We sat down and we both got our nails done. My sister was going to get a design but I wasn't. She asked the nail tech if she could do the design but she said no but another nail tech could. When it came time to me to pick a color my nail tech said "black?" I said no I want to pick a color, I go and pick an orange and a dark color. He paints my nails and then i go to pay. At first he said that it would be $33. I say why it's just a fill. Then he says let me see, "okay it's short so $25". I pay but I was hesitant, I then ask another tech why did I pay so much, she says because you got gel. I NEVER ask for gel. So then I ask well how much is the regular fill, no one could answer me on the price. VERY DISAPPOINTED! WON'T BE GOING BACK! read more

They also do freestyle designs great as well, I can't tell you how many times I've been other places and say do whatever you want and get the worst nails ever!!! Ive only had nails done 1x by the mother and they were a short set of almond nails, they were a little wider than I like but overall they lasted and none lifted or popped off. There are a few newer folks; Marie is hella funny and makes the time fly by (don't use matte gel top coat ijs doesn't stay on too good). I noticed a young african American girl doing nails in the shop and my heart melted yet again, I'm a huge softy. She puts in work as well. I had great expectations since I found them on IG and their work seemed nice. This is my second time coming in. On Cinco de Mayo I went in right before closing for pedicures with my sister. They told us no but as we were getting in the car, graciously found time for us. We were happy about that. I had no complaints until I had to kindly ask the nail tech to scrub more on my heal because she was rushing and only did it for 20 seconds. Mind you I use my own pumice stone frequently at home and get a pedicure every month, but I was paying, so I wanted my monies worth. She did the same lazy scrub on my second foot and I knew I should've went to another nail salon. When asked, I picked my colors and showed both my nail tech and the lady doing my sister's pedicure that I wanted v-tip for both of my big toes. They talked in their language and decided to switch clients. I was fine with that. I explained I wanted a triangle tip and again showed her the pic. The 2nd nail tech only outlined my toe in a square shape. I told her she could use more of the blue because I believed she would understand, but as we can all see I didn't get v-tips. I'm irritated because now I have to pay someone else to fix my toes. I've had them covered all week and it's spring. read more

UPDATE: It's been two days and my gel manicure is already lifting so I will have to get it done again somewhere else. My big toe now is filling with puss where she dug in with her tool. ...Not really sure why the reviews are good. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. During my gel mani he did not push my cuticles back or cut them. The paint job was horrible and consisted of painting my cuticles and uneven and he did not make sure my nails were even on both hands. He also did not tell me until after my nails were painted that I would be charged an extra $5.00 for having more then two colors on my nails. And though the massage chairs are great, my pedicure was horrible. I am not sure why she would want to dig into the side off my big toe and continue to do it even though I said it hurt. I get trying to get dead skin, but not to the point to where I am now bleeding. Also, scrubbed my feet for about 30 seconds so I still have dry spots and skin hanging off. It's also now been two hours and the toe nail polish is not dry yet, so of course I messed it up. All the other places I go to my toes are dry working the hour. read more

Went here with my sister for pedicures. I had asked if they could make my toes as gorgeous as some of the manicure pictures I had seen, and they said "Yes!". How very, very wrong I was to believe them. Services: 1 stars Basic Pedicure: I paid extra for gel polish and a custom design on my big toes. What I received was regular nail polish, and a crappy design. The reason I knew it was regular polish, was that once I was home, I noticed the clear polish was flaking off my toes (the girl hadn't wiped it off my skin, so it was hanging over my nails, unfinished), and so I attempted to use regular strength nail polish remover to even it out. I was expecting nothing to happen, and my polish came right off. Definitely not gel. Staff: 1 stars Now for a $20 base price (before any gel or design work) I'm not expecting a whole lot. However, the girl providing the service must have been new or inexperienced. She ripped part of my cuticle, which really hurt! I had to treat that toe for several days to prevent an infection or ingrown toenail. She also clearly had no experience on how to make good designs. Apparently only the people who do manicures know how to do that. Location: 2 stars Easy enough to find, right on street level. Even on a Saturday, we had no trouble finding parking. The inside looked a bit unclean though. For a nail salon, I didn't expect it to look so run-down. I guess I shouldn't have expected more in that part of Sacramento.
