SO BAD! I've been here about 10+ times in the past and have always had a great experience. I came back today for a gel manicure and noticed how they've gotten much busier than they have been in the past. It's still no excuse for how SLOPPY my manicure was.... so so sad. There was so much nail polish left on my skin and stuck between my nail and skin. She cut my nails so short and made them square when I asked for round... I was still optimistic because they've don't a great job in the past but my nails are so stubby and unevenly square now. There are visible bubbles. She CUT the nail polish off my SKIN. She also didn't massage my hands or back like they normally do.... THE WORST PART is that when I let the rude lady at the front desk know about the service she said 'sorry' and still charged the full amount. WOW. Obviously won't be going back. Ever. read more

I visited the salon as a walk-in on a Friday afternoon. The receptionist was very friendly and said there would be a 45 minute wait, but then called me five minutes later and said they were ready for me. My nail tech was sweet and professional- very diligent about making sure all of my nails were perfectly even and smooth. I got a full set of acrylics with a gel manicure and she did a really beautiful job. Very natural looking (I like my nails short) and not at all thick like I've seen with some gel manicures. read more

After attending to this nail spa for the last year, and receiving an S&S dipping powder service (I seemed to like), I thought the place did pretty good. I begin to learn after being recommended by the appt scheduled to schedule my appts in advance. However, my last appt, I was running a few minutes late due to my daughter's class. When I walked in, I immediately apologized to the appt scheduler. I was running about twenty minutes late. As I stood there hoping she would reassure me all was well, instead she lectured me for five minutes on how I should have called and how my nail tech could've scheduled someone else in place of me. It was so rude! I was very offended. I looked around and there was no one hardly in there. She never asked me how my day was, or gave me reassurance, just lectured me. I felt awful. I sat down, my nail tech told me to choose a color..he sat down. And then he began to do my nails. I let him know three of the same nails on my right hand, he just fixed two weeks ago, broke again. He told me it was my fault, not his. And then he didn't talk to me again! No one ever offered me water or coffee, and I felt like I was put in timeout. I will not be coming back here again!!!! Horrible customer service! And no customer should have to feel this way especially after paying for dipping powder services, appts scheduled every two weeks, for over a year. They need to train their employees on better customer service, and not to put down any customer about anything. read more

Very very nice here. Did not like the fact that they did not have very comfortable chairs whatsoever I wish that the massages were a bit longer. But the overall experience was very pleasant the quality of the massage was very nice.my polished looked Nice when I first got it done, but has not lasted very well. read more

Came to Kim to fix my nail that I got done at Madison Ave Nail Salon, they did such a horrible job on my fill. I've been to polished boutique spa before and they are great. Cindy fixed my broken nail and discovered that whatever glue they used on my nails was bad quality. So I am happy that Kim and Cindy helped me out and took care of me and my nails. Very much appreciated! Great service! Love the owner! She is so sweet and very helpful :) it's close to my work too so very convenient to walk to- that's a bonus! read more

The ladies at polished do a really good job in general. I have been going to years. I will say their only downfall is communication and customer service. Its very clear that they have people they favorite and treat differently than others. The blonde who makes most of the appointments (Kim) spends more time on her phone and talking trash about customers in Vietnamese to the other workers than she does insuring that customers are well taken care of. Prices have also gone up.. but its to be expected with all of the gentrification and rent increases around the Capitol Hill area. Over all I will give this place 3 stars. I seriously am obsessed with my nails done by Jennifer. I tried dip powder with tips for the first time ever and I love it way more than acrylic. She knew exactly what I wanted and that involved a very natural shape and being very narrow along the sides, she did exactly that. These nails hold so much better than acrylic and just feel more natural. I don't feel like I have been chunky fake nails like I used to with acrylics done at other places. The first time I came here, I thought that I found my new nail salon. The owner is a badass who does everything all at once -- she picks up the phone, handles nail service, directs her employees, greets everyone...she's a beast. She even shut her employee up because she was upset at a customer. YES HEEEY I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU LADIES ARE SAYING YET YOU DON'T EVEN SUSPECT IT. This past time, I was really upset at the quality of their work and how they just can't shut their mouths up. They talked about how they have to play fake nice to their customers and when they do, their friends just giggle at their fakeness. And I kid you not, my lady told her buddy that they'd compete to see who would finish first. I'm paying for good nails, good quality, not expedited work. Because of her rush, look at my poor fingers (see photo). At least 4 of them are cut up like this but here's what I could snap. I think their speedy mentality is because of the owner. She's going at 100mph at all times so why wouldn't her staff feel rushed to get the job done. Oh well, I'm done with this place. read more

Service was prompt and the polish was okay but the cuticle cutting and filing was below average. They do not shape the side of your nails, only the top so the overall look at the end of the manicure looks more home done than professional. Also, they don't apply their polish from the base of the nail- they leave a small gap; my preference is the former. $20 for a basic mani is LA, NYC prices. The quality is worth prob $15 at best. read more

Newly moved to Seattle and went here yesterday after reading reviews on Yelp, it did not disappoint. They immediately fit me in despite not having an appointment. Nearly every seat in the place was filled, at one point I counted and there were 20 customers being served. The staff balanced a busy salon and were offering tea and water. I left just before close and they were still very busy when I left. I got a gel manicure, very happy with the results so far and plan to go back again. read more

Feel safe getting my nails done here thanks to their COVID 19 precautions that are strictly followed including mandatory masking, plexiglass dividers, and strategic spacing of customers. I visited Seattle from the Bay Area and so had to choose Polished based on Yelp reviews and photos. I have actually never had a manicurist take as much time and care on shaping and applying acrylic nails and they turned out absolutely beautiful; however, the receptionist was so rude and ruined the place for me within minutes of arriving. She made my friend and I feel like a nuisance and her demeanor was very curt. If it hadn't been for her, I would return to this nail salon the next time I'm in Seattle but I will probably try somewhere else instead. Again, the woman who did my nails was very friendly, patient, and took her time (I don't know her name but apparently she's the only one who does acrylics) so if you really need someone who knows their stuff and you don't mind dealing with the receptionist, then yes go here. read more

Unprofessional and unreliable service; I do not recommend this place. I made an appointment on a Tuesday for a facial and massage for that Friday. I called Friday afternoon to confirm my appointment before I came in. They had no record of my appointment. They passed the phone off to four different people, trying to avoid blame. No one on the phone wanted to help me, they all just kept saying " Ok. Well your appointment isn't in here". They didn't try to solve the problem at all. Finally, a woman called me back (who actually sounded like she cared about customers) and said both the esthetician and masseuse were out of vacation this week. Very unprofessional and I will never come back here again. You need to be organized and take appointments correctly! read more

Polished used to be a decent place to go for nails but now the quality has gone down hill. The nail tech had zero attention to detail and cared more about how quickly they can get you out the door. I got the SNS dipping powder and my nails are so bulbous and even the shape is uneven. They are so thick on my nails and are painful when I press on them. She didn't even do anything to care for my cuticles and just aggressively scraped them off with the machine so they are raw, rough, and flakey. Won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone. read more

I've been to this place twice and both times have been amazing. I've gone to quite a few nail places in Seattle that are lack luster and sloppy with their polish jobs and careless with their electric files. This place is not one of those. I've been here for acrylics and acrylic removal and both visits were sublime. I am always weary of trying new nail places out of fear of coming out looking like my cuticles have been shredded with the file but Amy is so careful and hasn't harmed my cuticles once! I will definitely be returning in the future to try their sns dips. This is my go-to nail salon in Seattle. The main reason: my shellac lasts. It neverrr chips, seriously. I think my second favorite thing is the quality of the massage during the pedicure -- I've never said that about a nail salon before. (My boyfriend would agree if he would admit that he's come with me a few times). I also appreciate that they always have the newest colors, the salon is clean and bright, and they are so so friendly. I'm at just under the 2 week mark of getting it fixed and unfortunately it re-split again -_-. I'm not going to get into that in particular, but the manager did text me a few days after my nail was repaired to make sure it was intact still. very kind of her. I wanted to like this place, despite the reviews that said they sped through gel manicures I decided to give it a shot. I made an appointment the day before I went, for 5pm on a Wednesday. I arrived pretty early because parking wasn't so bad. I picked out my color fairly quickly and was seated. The space is a little cramped. I then received the FASTEST gel manicure I have ever received, which is sometimes a good thing, but after having a stressful week I had hoped for some relaxation. Even the massage was fast and aggressive. I waited a week before posting my review to see if the manicure at least held up, but initially I wasn't even happy with the technique of the painting and it could've used another coat. So now a week later it's peeling and grown out and I won't plan on going back. $35 for a speedy, not relaxing manicure that doesn't last 10 days isn't worth it. I would agree with other reviewers that their focus is on the dip/SNS manicures. read more

I witnessed a rather unpleasant exchange while getting my nails done at this place today. I watched a Black customer (her race is relevant) ask to speak to the Owner and in a calm way say that she was giving direct feedback about not being happy with her service. She tried to explain her concerns but the owner didn't seem to want to listen and abruptly got up and walked away. The customer then called out that she felt her feedback wasn't being heard because she was Black. She did not yell or raise her voice at all. However, the owner then started getting VERY defensive and yelling on top of her voice that she is not discriminating. She just continued to yell and dismissed whatever the customer was calmly trying to say. Kudos to the Black customer who kept her cool, got up, paid, and left with her dignity intact. The owner then tried to justify herself to the other customers by citing some random bad experience she had with another customer a year back. She was using that incident to justify her yelling to this calm customer. I think the owner handled this VERY poorly and needs to reflect on how she takes calm and respectfully delivered customer feedback. Defensively yelling on top of her voice showed a lack of professionalism and hints at deeper issues with this nail salon. read more

I worry the quality of this place may be going downhill. I come to polished boutique not infrequently for both pedicures and manicures. The service is typically just fine but last time I came in for a pedicure I was disappointed. My friend and I came in while the shop was almost empty. After sitting down, I commented that the foot bath was ice cold (not exaggerating) and it took a solid 10 minutes for them to decide to refill the bath with hot water. I actually had to request new water twice which felt very uncomfortable. I felt like an inconvenience. We were rushed through the rest of the entire process. The foot/calf massage was essentially non-existant and there was no cuticle work. I even think the clear coat polish was skipped because my polish started to chip after just 3 days. I'll probably be back given the convenience of this location and previous nice service, I just hope things begin to improve to prior quality. read more
