Great family park. For your animal loving kids, you'll find lots of turtles, frogs, fish, ducks and geese in the pond. There are three play areas for kids....one just for the little kids with a gate around it so they can't 'escape'. In the summer, the kids play areas have misters to cool them off. There is lots of land and great hills for rolling down. A disc golf course. In the summer, they have music in the park series. It's always clean and even the bathrooms are decent for a park :-) read more

Came here to celebrate my cousin's first birthday. However, this park would be good for a picnic, stroll around the park, reading a book, etc. They also have park attendants that are willing to help and bring extra trash bags. This is a non dog walking park so be aware of that. Don't just let your dog roam free. Very well maintained park with a great ocean breeze ! read more

I only go on Sunday during the summer time concert. Take a blanket your lounge chair-snacks and don't forget your cooler with adult beverages(yes..it's ok). My only suggestion is arrive early for parking and for good sitting because it could get really crowded. read more

One would never know this park is smack in the middle of Manhattan Beach. The park is huge, has a lake with ducks and swans, playground, picnic areas, and a local pool. Lots of grass. During the summers on Sunday evenings are Concerts in the Park. Bring your chairs and blankets and get there early to set up. Alcohol is allowed in the park on these Sundays just for the concerts so you can enjoy wine with your picnic. On event evenings, the parking is really bad and you have to park in the nearby neighborhoods. read more

Cool park in Manhattan Beach. Quite big and depending on where you park, you might miss part of it. The newer structure is in better shape as has a little workout area for adults. It's nice, but since we have a little one, we had to go to the area by the water. It's nice to see the geese (watch where you step) and the kids area is safely gated. The play structures are nice, but a little run down (we're spoiled by Santa Monica standards). A great park to take a walk in and it borders the middle school. Next time we'll bring some food and a stroller for a nice picnic. read more

Large and varied park with a botanical garden (hidden away, but not to be missed), a small lake, several playgrounds including an enclosed area for young toddlers, a set of public exercise machines, a museum, an open air amphitheater, a dog run, and right next door, a playing field and a public pool. I feel that the park (except the botanical garden) lacks charm. The busy boulevard nearby is ever present. The grounds seem cold. The far shore of the lake has no landscaping. Objectively, this park has a lot to offer, and many people I know love it -- but I just don't. read more

This is a pretty nice, very large park with lots of picnic tables, places to bbq, and playground equipment for kids. There is also a lot of nice landscaping and places to relax. They have bathrooms too. Close to the beach. Parking can be tricky. Make sure to tell people you're meeting or guests your specific location because they could get lost! This is a great park to come to. There's a lot of space for kids to play and sectioned off for small kids and big kids. It's also a great place to go jogging or just coming to the park to hang out. Wish there was more shade besides for underneath the trees, but overall nice park! read more

We went during the weekday. Not many children, was nice and peaceful. The kids enjoy both playgrounds, as well as the gooses. I think the only downside was the parking, other than that everything was fine... oh I'm forgetting to mention watch out with all the feces from the animals. read more

What a great find in Manhattan Beach!!! This park is pretty massive. There are about 4 large play structures, an outdoor exercise area, a duck pond and plenty of grass to run around in! Parking is on the street which I had no trouble finding on a Tuesday morning. Bathrooms were decent but kind of stinky. Great place for adults to walk, run and then do some strength training in the fitness area. If I lived near here I could easily forego my expensive gym membership and exercise here for free! read more

Park is very clean and parking surrounds three sides of the park. They have concerts in the park on Sundays and have a very nice set up so plenty of people have a view. Sound can be a hit or miss but the techs got it right later in the show. Dont hang around too late cause the bugs will bite you up. read more

Nice park with plenty of room, playgrounds, exercise area and a man made lake with red eared slider turtles, ducks and fish. Very nice on the weekends or taking your dog for a walk along the trails. Safe playground equipment with lots of features and they also have a fenced in toddler playground. Spring and summer time concerts add to the fun. Spaces can be reserved for birthday parties and barbecues. Plenty of street parking. Busier on the weekend. ***The toddler area is right next to the lake so you have to be extra careful with the little ones around. read more

Came here with my 3 year old nephew and it was a success! This is an absolutely beautiful park that offers a lot to do! They have a botanical garden, baseball field, plenty of grass free spaces, trees, benches, AND they have ducks, turtles, and a bunch of other creatures (bring turtle food, those poor turtles are starving)... I'm giving it 4 because i wish they kept that area a bit cleaner and offered selections to feed the poor ducks and turtles. they all looked starving. additionally, they have 2 play grounds. one meant for smaller kids and the other for the older kids. they have trailers and exercise machines and lots of parking read more

Brought my two corgis here. Definitely one of the worst dog parks I've went to. The space is okay but I was just worried for my dogs paws. Had to check them and make sure they didn't have any splinters or were hurt from the wood chips. It was just convenient and close by to the event I was at so I wanted to let my dogs exercise and have some fun but I'd rather go out of my way for a different park next time. read more

A wonderful park that will be enjoyed by people of all ages. Whether you're a kid wanting to slide down a big slide or an adult walking briskly around the scenic lake, this park has it all. We don't know the ins and outs of the park yet, so we parked along the perimeter. My daughter loves playgrounds, especially big slides. The main playground next to the lake has an awesome structure. The two slides (one is a tube) has to be almost 3 stories tall. The backdrop of the lake is nice, but the smell of the waterfowl droppings permeating the air can be a bit too much. The play structures have these artificial coverings that provide minimal shade, but at least it helps on hot days. Around the faux lighthouse there are man holes that have misters inside. The mist comes out around every 10 minutes or so. My daughter loved playing with them. The more modern play structure is that is blue and red is geared towards younger children and provide some unique obstacles. Around that area is a workout area for people. Near the lake, I noticed a stage area that is used for outdoor plays (like Shakespeare by the Sea) during the Summer. There are plenty of benches but not all of them have a gazebos covering them. I'm not sure if you need to reserve them or not. read more

What a fun find while on vacation! This park is very large although we really only stayed on the side closest to the middle school (from driving around I saw that it sits on a considerably large lot). There is only street parking and there was none left when we arrived on Saturday afternoon so many people were parking in the school lot. Many families were having picnics at the park. I love that on this particular day the families enjoying the park were well mannered and did not use a bunch of foul language (important to me as sometimes my family has gone to parks and had people start brawling even with kids present). We do not generally get to this area but if we are nearby we would stop by this park and explore more of it. read more

The pond is discusting the water needs care for wouldn't be surprised if there's tons of hazardous waste in there there duck shit everywhere you would think they would clean the concrete have to make sure your shoes are clean before you get inside your car even the officer there said they found dead bodys in there an isn't cleaned but only 5 to 10 yrs read more

Hands down one of my favorite parks around this area. Multiple playgrounds for the kids to play (very little kids have their own gated area). There is workout area for adults that I haven't tried but it definitely looks interesting. Summer concerts are amazing, great music, awesome crowd. Bring your cooler, beach chairs or a blanked and finish up your week with two hours of live music. read more

I really love the dog park here because it has the wood chips throughout the run and the dogs don't get muddy or that dirty. There are benches for sitting and trees for shade. It's kept very clean, and is for small and large dogs. It is right above the main park area so not too many screaming kids alarming the dogs... The Park itself is very beautiful, with a pond with many ducks and other wildlife. There are plenty of mature trees and the grounds are very well maintained. In the afternoon you will see the middle school kids running through the park for physical education. Overall one of Manhattan Beach's best parks. read more

I love shooting at Polliwog Park. As a photographer, I love using lots of different backgrounds for my pictures. At this park, there's a lake, gazebos, and lots of foliage. It's one of the larger parks in the Southbay and has lots of street parking. read more

Playground specific review: We took the kids early in the day, late morning, on a sunny summer day. The playground equipment is mostly red. Apparently, this absorbs the heat of the sun quickly and made for very-hot-to-the-touch slides and playground surfaces. That is why the poor review. Bad design regarding heat absorption. However, the playground otherwise has a pretty fun layout with a variety of places for kids to climb. It has a boat where we played pirates and a lighthouse and swings. The playground is also fenced in so it makes it easier to keep track of kids. read more
