Was craving chicken so I decided to check out Pollo Amigo restaurant. I'll start off with saying the place is very clean and has a lot of sitting room for it being small . The associates you who helped me were very friendly while explaining the menu and answering all my questions . Now the important part for the yelpers , how did the food taste ? I can honestly say i was not disappointed , more like extremely content . The chicken was well done and had great taste . The beans were perfect in salt and still very hot . As for the rice is was a little dry but still good . The salsa was also very good not too spicy for those who don't like spicy salsas. They even have 5 different flavor waters your can choose from . I personally loved the watermelon one . I highly recommend this place overall to any yelpers who like chicken. Trust me you won't be disappointed. & for those who like to know about prices I ended up paying $23 for a whole chicken (8 pieces ) , pint of rice and beans , 8 tortillas , 2 salsas , & a large watermelon water . Fantastic Mexican style chicken for a great price. This is an authentic version of pollo loco. There aren't many choices on the menu- just chicken, rice and beans- but you can get a quarter chicken plate with a drink for about five bucks. I wouldn't recomend eating in- they don't have the best ventilation system and only have a couple picnic tables to sit in. The decor isn't the greatest and the place seems to cater mostly to the working class. But, the chicken can't be beat anywhere- it's tasty, the salsa given is great, and the portions are generous. read more

were do i start? i went there today about 12:40p.m. picked up my to go order, i get to work open the plastic bag up and there is 2 fly's in the plastic bag, luckily it was not in the container it self or i would be super P@#$$# OFF. 2nd i opened the container and it looked like they shorted me on chicken, what they do is get a breast cut it in half and call it two pcs. 3rd. i started eating the chicken the at first I'm thinking it had a ok flavor but then i actually started chewing, it was dry dry dry. I ate about 1/2 a pcs and my co-worker ate another half a pcs but we could not eat it, it was just way to dry. Now for what totally pissed me off, when i left the restaurant attempted to eat threw it away and went to put the recipt in the cash drawer so i can get reimbursed buy my job. the receipt says "no sale" that is the sign that they are either stealing from the company or they are not reporting income and not paying taxes so either way they are stealing. i will have a few choice word with the owner when i find out who own this company read more

5.99 for a quarter chicken with rice and beans and tortillas 8.99 for a half 13.00 for a whole Of course you can get a whole chicken at costco for 5 bucks and it will be cooked a lot better. However the spices and seasonings they use is very good. I just wish that they wouldn't overcook the chicken. I asked them for poco cocido but they only gave me the chickens that had already been cooked and they only needed about half the cooking time to be perfect. All mexican places and most everywhere will overcook a chicken. You can do better at home if you know what you are doing. If you get lucky at this place when the chickens are cooking and they plump and not overdone I am sure it will be really good. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. read more

Great customer service. Great customers. Very small seating and some random family told me to sit down with them and join them for lunch. Great people. Which is hard to find in a lot of this world we live in. The salsa wasn't my style it's to bland American style wise. Maybe they have different ones ????? Not sure but I had the chicken and it was cooked perfectly. I had the quarter chicken rice an beans and a drink and tortillas it was like $8.90 I think. I lived in chula all my life and never once saw this place. What a shame so now moving forward I'll always come here when I'm in chula cost for grilled chicken. The taste is amazing. I had my car worked on at lalos garage next door. The owner is amazing and the chef is very humble too. Highly recommend hands down. read more

It is a popular place in the area and the salsa the comes with the chicken is sooo good it compliments the chicken nicely. They have done some remodeling recently and the place looks good.
