Surprisingly very bad , started off normal , food came very slow. The cup quality is horrible, very flimsy just bad in general. When i grabbed my cup it fell and all my horchata went on my food. It also happened to my dad the last time i came here. We reported it to a worker named Roberto, he shrugged it off saying "oh well" which we found very rude. we had the same worker attend us Roberto. My daughter apparently had her feet on the seats. She didnt even have her feet on the seats, it was on the end hanging off. For some reason he didnt like the fact that my very young daughter had her feet on the seats when she didnt. My daughter is really young and she doesn't know her mistakes anyways. Apparently this angered Roberto and told me and my daughter VERY rudely to take her feet on the seats. When she didnt have her feet on the seats. He also delivered the food aggressively. Actually love the chicken here! Try the empanadas. They are buttery, flakey and made by hand it seems. Unfortunately one of mine had bones in it. But it was replaced quickly. We went through the driveway the first time before we went to see a movie, just for a snack. Loved the chicken so much that after the movie we headed back! We sat in and got more of the chicken and my boyfriend ordered a side of coleslaw. We both thought the fried chicken is way better than anything at KFC and super fresh. I love the lime cilantro pesto and the buffalo sauce. The pesto goes awesome with the chicken verde empanada, but be warned, mix it with another sauce or use sparingly if you don't love a lot of lime vinegar taste like I do. The bread roll with the dinner was lackluster and dry, Not much to speak of. And my boyfriend chose to mix in the chipotle honey sauce to give it some flavor and kick. He liked it after that. "What in the world just happened......." These were my exact words upon finishing my meal today. This was one of the most satisfying food experiences I've had in the past year. Not dining atmosphere, or service, or anything else. I'm just talking straight up food here. Pollo Campero wowed me today. I'm just going to name 3 things that MUST be ordered: Citrus Grilled Peruvian Chicken Spicy Empanada Horchata I've eaten alot of chicken in my life. Grilled, fried, stewed, bone-in, boneless, etc. But the way this damn chicken was seasoned, and with that squeeze of lime over it, I can undoubtedly say that it was one of the Top 3 chickens I've ever had. Good thing I was solo, because if anyone had been with me, you'd have been slightly embarrassed with the way I ate that chicken like I'd been without food for months. It was "can't put down" good. Then that empanada, oh man. I thought it'd just be spicy seasoned chicken meat, but on the receipt it was listed as 'Latin Buffalo', and upon biting through it the buffalo sauce came oozing out. This was a nice surprise, and although not really spicy, the flavor and light crisp texture of the patty was outstanding. And finally the Horchata drink, a mix of milk, cinnamon, honey and vanilla. I tasted Horchata before, but it was forgettable. But the one here was excellent. Every ingredient flavor balanced so well and was pretty much made to perfection. I can't say enough about my meal. I tasted new flavors today, and it left my tongue buzzing. I enjoyed it so much, that I feel I don't even want to go back too soon, to avoid spoiling the high that I'm on right now too quickly. But as far as I'm concerned, this is a minimum once-a-month endeavor, for high quality fast food. read more

Polo Campero is a Latin Peruvian restaurant located off of Congress Avenue in the Renaissance Commons area right in front of target and next to total wine and more. When I seen the restaurant I really haven't bothered to try it because I just thought of another Pollo tropical or La Granja. Now trust me I'm not throwing shade it either it is because I do like them both but I just figured another chain restaurant. Well I will not say that about this place the service was very friendly the prices are reasonable and the food was amazing! On my first visit I had mixed grill which was you could mix any of the chicken meat either fried or grilled along with an empanada one side and a drink for $6.99. I asked so many questions at the drive and speaker and the person at the drive-through was amazingly friendly and was definitely providing service with a smile. The empanada place called chipotle Flavor and that had to be the best and piñata I've ever had! The breading was very light and the flavor of the chicken inside was undescribable. I don't really know what type of sauce or anything else inside but I know it was really good. It was so good at it later that day I went back for some more empanadas and this time I thought I would try one of each so I had the spicy chipotle and the polo Companero empanada. The spicy was definitely spicy and I'm a spicy type of girl. The other two were good also I'm really not sure in which one will be my favorite although I think I'm leaning towards the chipotle. The Companero Rice has corn and other vegetables in it and was OK and different but could use a little bit of spice. The Companero beans or pinto beans with a little bit of sausage and spice and those were very very good. The chicken fried was good but just good nothing knocking out the ballpark and the grilled chicken was pretty good also. So for service and give it five stars for the beams in the empanadas I give it five stars the fried chicken to grill chicken and the rice just three stars overall four stars. Monday through Friday they have all types of specials so it may very well be my new hang out on the way home pick up dinner. I'll keep you posted but I am definitely a fan!! read more

I really love this place and I can't say it enough! Wife and I have gone here a couple times over the past couple of months after never going and living next to it for years! The chicken here is always on point. Whether grilled or breaded. I love the breaded and how it is made. Their sides are amazing the only thing I haven't tried is their beans. I came here yesterday and ordered the family meal of 8 pieces with it mixed half grilled and half breaded. Service is always good and they are very good at explaining things. Pollo Campero has some of the best fried chicken that I've ever tasted. And it's truly the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had the pleasure to eat! The place is a Pollo Tropical-type Latin fast food place, but with a touch more class. If you're dining in, all the food is served on actual plates, bowls, etc, and you can eat with real utensils if you so choose. The sides are amazing - campero beans are kidney-type beans, marinated with some sausage and spices. Whatever's in it absolutely delicious. The campero rice on the other hand, lacked enough spice and was pretty bland. The tostones were crispy and perfectly fried. And dipped in the campero beans - were out-of-this world. There are other sides, including black beans & white rice, yuca fries, and caesar salad. But the chicken really stands out. The skin was super-crispy and the meat underneath was the juiciest fried chicken I'd ever seen or tasted. Pollo Campero needs to make its way down to Miami, for sure. A combination of Pollo Tropical meets Los Pollos Hermanos. The only thing its missing is Gus from Breaking Bad. The menu isn't that big but they do have some decent chicken options. Fried chicken seems to be their specialty, so if anything this maybe more Pollo Tropical meets KFC. The grilled chicken options are a little bland. Not exactly the most healthiest place to eat, but you probably knew that walking into to the joint. The service is usually really good, but overall, it's just a bland fast-food place that specializes in fried chicken wraps, salads or chops. What I did remember was the delicious Campero Beans, a succulent combo of kidney beans, pork sausage and god knows what else. WOW. This time I ordered a 2-piece fried chicken meal. My sides were black beans & rice, Campero beans, and a dinner roll. Talk about carb heavy. I could have swapped the roll for a tortilla but honestly who eats this much bread along with fried chicken and beans? (I did for review purposes). The star of the show today was the fried chicken. The fried chicken was unlike anything else I had every had. The coating was just, well you have to try it. Not too oily like KFC, Just a perfect crisp on a light batter. The meat itself was quite tender and juicy even for white meat. I found myself picking at the bones and rib side of the breast just to try and squeeze out another morsel of the delicious skin coating. My advice is to stick with the fried chicken, and please do try the Campero beans. The salsa bar also has a nice selection, onions, cilantro, tomatilla, chipotle salsa and jalapenos. read more

The food is, for fast food, prepared about as well as you could ask. They have some nice different items like baked chicken, sauteed squash, beans, and baked yucca along with the usual bad-for-yous. The staff is really nice and seems to actually like working there, which is a big step up from most Colonel's chicken crematoriums. Tried the new empanadas. The savory one was good.
