Had a craving for some empanads, and you can't best getting 3 and a side for under $8. I got plantains as a side they were sweet and cooked well. The empanadas are flavorful and perfect for a snack.

If you looking to satisfy that urge for chicken but need a healthy option, then be sure to give Pollo Campero a try. I stopped in for lunch with my dad who is following the keto diet. He was able to stick with his diet due to the availability of options like baked chicken and unsweetened tea. I, not currently following a low-carb diet, opted for the camperito meal deal. For under $7, I got 9 camperitos ( think chicken tenders that are about double the size of a piece of popcorn chicken), fries, and a roll. I also got a medium drink for about $2 with free refills on any of their drinks. Their drink selection has all of the normal choices of soda including tea. The best thing was that for the price of the soda, I was able to drink all of the horchata I wanted! There was also a mango juice option. PS, the horchata was so good that I got a second glass of it. The food arrived quickly and with a smile. What took me by surprise was that despite the fast food feel of the store, the food was served on real dish ware with real metal silverware. Definitely classed up the lunch experience! Plus the booths were very comfortable, making this patron very content. As for the food, the chicken was fantastic! It wasn't over cooked at all and the breading was crispy. I had the Campero signature dipping sauce which reminded me of Chick-fil-a sauce due to the tangy, creamy nature. I took a star off due to the unimpressive sides that accompanied the chicken. The fries, while cooked well, were nothing super special. They strongly reminded me of the big bags of fries that I have bought from the grocery store and fried at home. The rolls were also clearly from a bag of rolls. There was nothing screaming Campero twist to them. They were not even warmed. A little disappointing. Overall, come for the chicken and horchata which is reasonably priced. Maybe if they up the quality of the sides, this restaurant can really take off. The staff was very friendly and the store was very clean so the bases are covered from that end.

Fairly new at the Katy fast food scene this location is one of the newer one for the chain that been around for while. This place's located off the busy road of fry road and it is very easy to missed if you a fast driver like me. The parking is very tight is a very small parking lot. The chicken was very good. I ordered the three pieces combo. You have a choice between fry and baked. I ordered the baked one, the chicken was full of spices that combine with fresh lime they give you, it is one of the best chicken I taste in a long time. The place is fast casual means, you go up and order , they give you a number, then they bring you out the food. The service is it is what it is consider it is brand new. What I didn't like was ten minutes before closing on the Friday night they put away the napkins. That kind of ruined the experience. That been said I will be back for more chickens.

Boneless wings? GOOD. Empanadas? EVEN BETTER. As a Salvadoran that has had the real deal back home I can vouch that their recipe is pretty close, I was beyond surprise to say the least. The only item I wasn't convinced with was the yucca fries, they barely had any yuca and were too crunchy with no flavor. Definitely needs improvement on that. Their sides are not so generous either, I got a side of beans and the container wasn't even filled half way (hence the very little portion on my plate since I was splitting the food with my coworker)

The queso birria tacos and consomme were phenomenal (my personal favorite) and hubby had the carne asada burrito - not fajita, actual carne asada and a muleta. It was all fantastic. We shared a cup of elote and the chicharrones were also fantastic. Definitely TJ style and reminded us of Tacos del Gordo.. those from San Diego will know what I mean!! Out of the table salsas, the jalapeño was perfection! ALSO.. the tortillas are FIRE. Tastes like fresh Old Town tortillas. We definitely over ordered, but totally worth it, their portions aren't skimpy. This will be our go-to taco shop for sure. Highly recommended!! Go here, you will NOT be disappointed!!

After a few seconds, I turned around and saw even more people lined up after us. Line was never ending. So when you come, do expect some wait time due to the amount of orders. My friends all got something different and they all liked what they ordered. I'll definitely come back to try the other tacos and quesadillas.

"DAMAGE CONTROL" On…read moreyesterday, I placed an order through Doordash and requested no bread but called and asked if I could substitute for more pickles. The cashier asked the manager and she was willing to accommodate me. That was nice of her because she could have said no. My order consisted of a tenders basket (Nashville HOt) and large kale salad. It arrived via door dash excellent delivery and kind driver. I opened my food and the SPICY SMELL was literally unbearable. I then started thinking maybe I am being sensitive. I cut a piece and tried to eat it and almost choked from the pepper. REMEMBER I am originally from NOLA so SPICY Is my forte. I immediately called the store and was asked if I wanted to come in or get a refund. I requested a refund than the cashier says " I don't know if we can do that so let me check. I waited a few minutes, then I continued to wait , then I hear staff laughing in background, then someone says "ISN'T THAT WHAT SHE ORDERED" at this moment I became frustrated. I had been busy all morning and needed to sleep for work that night. I headed to the store and you would not believe once I arrived at the store, the cashier was helping customers, and the PHONE WAS OFF THE HOOK by an unoccupied cash register. I immediately requested the manager in a calm tone. The manager VERENICE arrived at the front counter and greeted me. I was so furious so the first thing I did was show her my phone and the phone off of the hook. I was on HOLD for 24 minutes see picture below. She proceeded to apologize and attempted to explain they the call was missed. I further explained that DOOR DASH prices are higher so offering a person to come in the store is not the bet alternative. I ordered DOOR DASH for a reason and it is a huge inconvenience when I have to arrive in store to correct a worker's mistake. SHe understood exactly how I felt and offered a solution. I also requested for her to smell how hot it was as well. She proceeded to tell me they are using a new seasoning and she believes the person put too much. My rebuttal was you have to be more careful in preparing food like that for a customer knowing there is a difference. I know you may be confused at why would I still give them 4 stars because as the MANAGER she listened to constructive criticism, offered a solution and made sure I was satisfied. I believe it is very important as a REVIEWER to be honest and fair while also telling the truth along with offering a the solution. Whomever is the owner of this franchise I am sure you may be disappointed with the "24 minute hold time" but you should be more proud of having a manager in place who does damage control and encourages the customer to return for a better experience as well as fix the food again.

I've tried the turkey burger once and the meat patty reminded me of a smash burger style patty, so next time, I think I'll get two. I also customized the burger with bacon, blue cheese, pickles, and a hard fried egg which made for a nice addition of flavors. Queso tasted home made. Cleaned the bowl! Sweet potato fries, let's say they've managed to achieve a nicely cut proportionate fry with the authentic sweet potato flavor and texture that's not soggy.

I went inside because I wanted to see what it looked like and how my food would be prepared. Well I couldn't really see the preparation from where Ivstood at the counter. But it didn't take long at all. The nachos come with chicken, sour cream, guacamole, and queso. I assume the salsas are normally out but with Covid, understandably they are not, so I had to ask for it. I was given the red (he said it was pico if I am not mistaken) and green salsa. The green was my favorite, had a Lil kick but not overwhelming at all (I would describe it as mild because I am a spice lover). I did not like the red so I would request only green next time. I live about 20 or so minutes away so I was ready to eat once I got back home. The chips were a bit soft which I think may have been due to the drive home but it didn't take away from the taste. I definitely wished that there had been more chicken and a few pieces were charred, which didn't taste well when you aren't expecting it when chewing. Overall, I really liked the nachos so much so I considered going back for dinner. I took off one star because there could have been a bit more chicken in my opinion. However, you can't beat a decent enough tasting meal with a drink for $5.41 (tax included). I would definitely go again and I want to try more of the combos.

I ordered the gyro combo and it was next-level. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, stuffed generously with all the classic gyro essentials, and wrapped in warm, soft pita. Every bite was balanced and satisfying. The fries were fresh, hot, and flavorful--not an afterthought at all. And the baklava? Flaky, sweet, and rich without being overpowering--absolutely delicious.
