Plenty of parking. Kind staff. Menu is specific to chicken fried or grilled. I had two piece mixed chicken fried. The breading was flavorful and well seasoned with a good crunch. This came with a roll or tortilla option. I choose the roll but it was a little too dry for me. I choose pinto beans and macaroni for my sides (you get one with your meal). Honestly, I'm skeptical about fast food macaroni but this macaroni was pretty delicious I must say creamy and flavorful. I would absolutely eat the Mac again. The pinto beans were flavorful also and in a good gravy. They would have went perfect with some rice. I also had an empanada and inside the chicken was juicy and the breading wasn't too hard. It was okay but something was missing for me today. Standard drink options of pop. They had juice and horchata. The hibiscus and mango mixed was perfect for me as I don't like too sweet stuff. The ambiance was standard to a fast food restaurant with a good amount of seating including booths, tables, outdoor seating, and hi-top tables. Staff cleans the tables quickly after people leave which is a great thing.

Not sure why the reviews are bad here, but thanks to Yelp I found another new gem. It's my first time here today, and I'm so glad I came! I love how the chicken is seasoned and grilled to perfection. Whatever they put in the seasoning really opened up my appetite, and it's not overbearing - it's citrusy and tangy while also flavorful. It is so good that I wish I had more than 2 pieces and that they were a bit bigger. I ordered it with a side of French fries, which they also lightly salted it - exactly how I want it without telling them. My partner ordered their Campero bowl without corn. They made our order accurately and efficiently, literally 3 minutes after I placed my order my name was called. Yay! I also love that the fountain drinks are self service, and they have more than just your typical Coke, Sprite, etc. The horchata was a tiny bit too sweet for me, so I went with their mango, peach & nectarine drink - highly recommend! I took everything to go today, and it was very well packaged - made it back to Oak Lawn safe and sound (an hour away, yes I would make that journey for food - sorry not sorry). There's also plenty of free parking on premise, they have a drive through, and it's conveniently located on a main road where you can't miss them. I'd totally come back to this location when I'm in the area next, I'm also super excited for the one near my home that is opening soon, and I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Clean restaurant. Very efficient ordering process, brought food to the table. I ordered spicy chicken sandwich meal, got side of white rice& drink. My sandwich was good, but not great.

The wait was long! Clearly they didn't expect to be this popular. They do have a woman cleaning off tables as people leave so the place was clean but It is way too small for the crowd. There is a lot of parking. They do online orders , drive thru and walk in. I tried the fried chicken because they are the grilled is a 30 (thirty) minute wait. This is crazy for a "fast food" restaurant. I chose the plantain as my side because the beans had chipotle. Chicken was over cooked and on the salty side. Plantains were a little undercooked but still good. I asked for salt (for my bananas) they didn't have any salt packets or shaker. They also have two dispensers of horchata but both were empty. Tried the mango water, this is not mango it's cleaning more peach favor. I do have to mention - we asked for a contain to take home left over chicken, because we know we over ordered to take some home. We were told go and eat our food then see what's left over and if we really need a container! So rude! We did need a to go container but didn't dare ask for a bag! Needless to say we will not be coming back here.

I was so excited to have them back as Years ago we went there all the time but this was a nightmare I ordered online because I know it's a new place and figured it would be busy sure enough I get there and per the website u can just go to window to pickup order I asked about 5 people and noone knew or would look at the bags tting there I decided to ask two more people one said he didn't work that area but was at the register doing nothing and the other told me there working on your order short story version my food was sitting there the whole time and by the time I got home they had forgotten some items and the food was cold I get that there just opened but they have over 10 people and no one knows what the other one is doing unfortunately I am reluctant to go back BTW the prices are a little steep

They took really good care of our big party. Super nice and fast service! The place is really cute. My bowl was really tasty! The chicken has really good flavor and yummy fries. I love the plates they serve the food on! Quite different for a fast food joint. Can't wait to come back!

Well on Narragansett at Brickyard but they closed it. It was different fried chicken text to eating yucca fries. And different sauces since it's a Guatemalan fried Chicken. The reason for the three stars is that the service was really slow since they opened. I just came from my dentist and ordered the four piece meal with yuca fries and coleslaw. I did not order any dessert and I did not order any drinks. Ambience was pretty busy maybe I will give them four stars later on but service is really slow was the reason for the three stars. I guess it's really busy for ambience lunch time as there was a line. But they were very slow. Food wise going back the chicken was uniquely delicious like any other place despite being a Guatemalan fried Chicken or chicken fast food restaurant chain. You can have the chicken cooked either traditionally fried or you can have it cook braised. I chose fried that's what that's what they're traditionally known for compared to other fried chicken places. The batter was quite different but tasty they give you the sauce to dip it in which was unique to Central American condiment. Instead of going for your traditional potato fries I went for the yuca fries which was good and big almost like a steak fry. The beans or mac and cheese but I went for coleslaw which was also good and creamy. My only complaint is just the service needs to be a little faster to deliver. Otherwise the food is good for it being a chicken place for Guatemalan. The batter on the chicken was not too salty or too greasy the way they made it.

Greetings my Foodzies, tonight we tried Pollo Campero in Melrose Park at 925 w North Ave. Pollo Campero has numerous locations, this is their newest one. Pollo Campero originated in Guatemala in 1971. This location is new so the interior was in good condition and clean surprisingly with the amount of people that were in there. Due to it being a Sunday and there being discounted coupons sent out it was packed. It is a counter ordering system; you place your order, you are given a number and you wait for your food to be delivered. The drinks are Pepsi products with a few dispensers with horchata and a few specialty drinks. The peach drink was our choice. The problem is that the dispensers are in a corner and everyone piles into the corner which makes it difficult to get your drink. Plus the cups are large and everyone fills them to the top. We had the 12 piece chicken which came with 3 sides; we chose the fries (nice and crispy), brown rice (had no flavor and a few pieces of corn), beans (which had an off putting taste but strangely enough when mixed with the rice was ok), coleslaw (had large diced pieces and a good flavor) and sweet plantains (slightly sweet and dry on the inside). The chicken had great flavor but we encountered a piece that was slightly raw on the inside. Due to the volume of people someone must have pulled the chicken too soon. They replaced the chicken. With our meal we had the choice of biscuits or tortillas, we went with the tortillas (bad move, the fell apart and were dry). I'm not impressed with our visit here. I give this restaurant 2 stars. As always I invite you to try it out for yourself and let me know what you think. Ciao Ciao for now.

Best fried Chicken from Guatemala and now here! It's great that now I have this 5 minutes away from home. We went on opening day and even if we had to wait a while for food due to high demand, it was so worth it. The fried chicken, beans and rice were delicious and Horchata was amazing too tasted homemade! If you like fried chicken you gotta try this.

The meal started with complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered a mezcal margarita (fruta picanta) and my friend got a mango cocktail (mangasa). I liked mine a lot, my friend didn't care for the tajin rim on hers, and the waiter offered to replace it, but she stuck with it and liked it in the end. There were so many great sounding things on the menu, with gluten free and vegetarian options. We ended up splitting the calabaza- an acorn squash stuffed with mushroom risotto and also the wild mushroom tostada. The calabaza was great for winter, warm and filling. The tostada was lighter but really delicious, it was probably my favorite of the two. It was a great dinner, that I would definitely visit again if I'm back in town.

Thank goodness we had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server Meyah was super friendly. We started with a few cocktails ..one being the Oaxacan Old Fashion..smokey and delicious. We tried their Market Ceviche which was on their Weekly Specials menu..Cured Mahi Mahi Brazilian Papaya,Tangerine Habanero sauce served with Sweet Potato chips.fresh and delicious. For our entrees we tried the Barbacoa Tacos and Blackened Fish(Tilapia) tacos. Both entrees were 21.00 for 3 tacos but no rice or beans on the side so a little pricey in my opinion. Street parking is a challenge but they do offer valet for 5.00. They have a fantastic patio that is open in the summer so we will definitely be back to enjoy a few cocktails and Latin American eats.
