Terrible first experience with pollo tropical. i asked for a cheese quesadilla and had to define what it was, when i got it, it was just the tortilla with no cheese then i asked what happened and they said i needed to pay extra for cheese. really slow. order took 20 minutes with no one else in line. i will definitely not go back to pollo tropical after this experience which is sad to say because i only had one experience and it was a negative one. read more

By far the worst pollo tropical I have ever been to.. Nobody here seems to care about whether or not they are doing their job correctly or not. The laziness here baffles me every time I go. I kept trying it thinking that maybe it was an off night or they were having a bad day, but that not the case. They are rude and the chicken is usually dry and rubbery, and the rice seems like it was made a week ago. I've had much better experiences at other pollo tropical's. If you wanna wait 30 minutes for food that's been handled by people who looked like they haven't showered in months, then this is the place for you. The environment is disgusting and all the sauces have s**t in them. The employees blankly stare at you as if they've never had a human interaction before and get your order wrong every time. There's gotta be at least 10-15 employees and they're all standing still, not saying a word, watching the line get longer and longer. Normally this location is ok. We waited several minutes to be acknowledged. We put in our order and headed to the topping bar - our favorite! This particular night there was no Cilantro Garlic. When we informed the staff, we were told they had to change the soda out and could they give us water in the meantime. By the time we got our sodas and sauce (after a reminder from us and a request from another patron), we were done eating. Sheesh! read more

The crew that works on Saturday nights is literally stealing from their company. Not only are the servers rude but we ordered at the drive up window and they had shortened us the fried yucca so we had to go back and ask for it (which the drive in sever acted like she was doing us a favor by giving us what we paid for but did not get) but when we got home to eat I only got a few pieces of in my chicken ceaser salad! The food was delicious, service was prompt, but best of all the staff put a customer at ease when he dropped a whole tray of food. Several employees told him it was no problem and they replaced his food at no charge. The management is clearly very skilled and professional. l'm Pollo Tropical customer since l heard about Pollo about 17 years ago. l live in Boca Raton, and work most in Fort Lauderdale then when l'm coming back home l normally pass by several Pollo Tropical so l used to stop by to buy my dinner as l do on my lunch as well. when l heard that a new Pollo was coming at Palmetto and 441 in Boca Raton which is just 2 blocks from my house l was happy. But l haven't been happy after l started buying from them, because their portion are much less than the other Pollo tropical. l even bought a plate of 1/4 chicken and Caribbean ribs at Pollo Tropical in Davie Federal Hwy and 17th ST. and bought the same plate at Pollo Tropical Boca Raton to compare it when l got home, and there's no comparison cause the one from Pollo Tropical in Boca Raton seems to be one third from the one in Davie. l went back there today again and ordered two more plates of 1/4 chicken and Caribbean ribs for me and wife, when we started eating it my wife said, it seems like it barely got one tea spoon of rice not to mention about the ribs. Well so we will keep buying from the other Pollo Tropical when we have a chance to pass by them and when we are at home we may find another restaurant around to buy our food from now on.! read more
