We gave this place another chance and were pleasantly surprised. Went to their wing special night. Had three different flavors and they were all delicious. We had their sausage and pepper pizza it was great. Ingredients were definitely much better than what they had been using before. Great difference. Service was fast and friendly by Josiah. Will definitely return and this is after we had sworn off never going to Anthony's again, but they apparently must've gotten sold and the new owner is changing things. Sorry no pics today. We hadn't been to this location in several months, and my how things have changed. The meatballs honestly tasted like the entire thing was just breadcrumbs. There was zero meat flavor or texture. It was complete mush. Yuck! I joked to my wife that we had accidentally ordered a vegan version. The pizza looked good, but lifting up the bottom revealed the entire pie was burnt from underneath, and burnt was the the most prominent flavor we tasted. The salad was good, but it was what happened after we ate it that left a bad taste in our mouth. Menu: $14.99. Bill: $17.49. I asked the nice waitress about the discrepancy and she said that the prices have changed but they haven't updated their menu yet. I was not going to accept that so I asked to speak to the manager. When the manager reduced it by $1.50 I asked why not the full amount. He said that since we got extra tomatoes and extra egg, that would be the price. We have been going to that location for over 15 years and have never once ever been charged for extra egg or tomato. So this was new. One more thing, regarding the meatballs. The meatballs come with focaccia bread. We asked for unseasoned bread because my wife is allergic to rosemary. The waitress said no problem. The focaccia bread came unseasoned and was delicious. But again, when we got the bill, we were charged $2.99. The waitress said that is the charge when ordering it without season. Of course, we were never told that and that had never been the case before. The manager was pleasant and so was the waitress. It's their policies that suck ever since they were sold to a private equity firm. This long-term customer will likely not revisit the restaurant again. I'm really disappointed with Anthony's Pizza on Powerline. This used to be one of our favorite places for pizza, but unfortunately the quality has really changed. We spent around $100 on our order, and the pizzas were so overcooked that the crust was hard like cardboard and everything was extremely dry. I could understand it happening once, but this is now the second time we've had the same experience. I'm not sure what has changed, but for the price, this was very disappointing. We've been to other ACFP's in the past including the first one that had opened in Fort Lauderdale. And we used to go regularly to the one in Pompano Beach. They're known for their well-done pizza and their coal fired wings. When we came, I was thinking that's what we would get. We instead chose a couple of their lunch specials. Their lunch specials menu has smaller plates and a number of combos -- soup and salad; or soup and sandwich; or salad and sandwich. Lots from which to choose. My husband got their pasta fagioli soup and a tuna sandwich. The soup was chock full of bacon, pasta, beans, onions and celery and tomatoes. When it was first delivered, it wasn't warmed enough, so he sent it back. It came out piping hot and much better. With his soup he got the Italian tuna sandwich. The tuna salad was served on a toasted focaccia bread along with tomatoes, arugula, and some Italian dressing. He said it was quite good. I got their oven roasted chicken sandwich and a chopped salad (there are 3 choices of salads). I left off the prosciutto, but it had a coal grilled chicken breast, red peppers, mozzarella cheese, arugula, and Italian dressing on it. It was pressed and served warm. The salad was much larger than expected with lots of great "stuff" on it. I left off the onions. It had romaine lettuce, black marinated olives, roasted red peppers, garbanzo beans, and bacon. The salad was drizzled with balsamic glaze. Gorgonzola cheese and salad dressing were served on the side. I wound up taking half of everything home with me. We had decent service but there was only one gal taking care of the entire restaurant. Still the lunch specials were well worth it. And I'd recommend you explore this select menu if you're there during lunch hour. read more

Absolutely terrible experience at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. The restaurant was extremely slow on a Thursday night, yet we sat there for over an hour and never even received the pizza we ordered. We ordered an eggplant pizza, and after waiting forever, they brought out an eggplant appetizer instead -- which we never ordered. Somehow the kitchen completely messed up the order. It also took around 20 minutes just to get drinks. The whole place felt disorganized and careless. When we asked to speak with the manager, she acted completely dismissive and showed very little concern about the situation. There was no urgency, no real apology, and no effort to make things right. Her solution was basically to tell us she could remake the pizza in 10 minutes and we could eat our dinner in the car. After wasting over an hour of our evening, that response was incredibly unprofessional. The restaurant was not busy at all, so there was absolutely no excuse for this level of bad service and poor management. We ended up leaving without ever getting our dinner. They held the eggs and the cheese and the dressing and added in some croutons. Super fresh. A glass of rose wine did the trick. Service was excellent and super friendly. I'm a big fan of Anthony's Coal fired pizza. great meatbals, garlic knots and of course pizza. Service I have experienced has always been great and they have some weekday happy hour specials which are nice. The only issue I have, and it could be independent to this location, is they keep the A/C on INSANELY cold. I've been a few times and it's always set on artic. And I always forget so I don't bring a jacket. It's pretty uncomfortable to eat inside. They do have a few tables outside but you pick either muggy heat, or blasting AC. I can see why their takeout business is steady. My most recent visit there was a table with 2 eldery couples and they legimately had blankets draped over them to keep warm while eating their dinner. I overheard them ask to adjust the AC which I think was granted. I did also overhear a server say how all her tables were P***ing her off and that one of her tables keeps B****ing about the cold. Stopped in the Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Boca for lunch while loading up a truck to move Mom's stuff up to Cleveland. Room is nicely overdecorated with retro photos and TVs. The menu is not extensive, but what you would expect from a pizza place. We ended up ordering a 12" pizza with eggplant all over and 1/2 sausage for the bro. The pizza was out fairly quickly, looking very nice. The crust is good, just thick and crisp enough to give a good mouth feel, the sauce was decent and the eggplant was good. Overall the pizza was just ok, better then the big chains, but not anything I would seek out for another try. This was SO disappointing. Been to other Anthony's locations and they've always been lively and great. This location had the worst service I have ever experienced. We were the only table in the restaurant (hour and a half before closing, we weren't keeping the staff there after close). I work in the service industry and am very understanding when staff is tied up or new. This was absolutely ridiculous. Chattering away behind the bar, had to go up to the gossiping employees to ask for the check after not being checked on in 45 minutes. Didn't even order dinner, just got apps. Firstly, we entered at 12:30 into an empty restaurant and had to seat ourselves because the waitress was busy talking to the cook. We then became impatient waiting for menus so decided to grab our own. Once we decided on what to get, our waitress then decided to make a snarky comment on how we were doing her job and that we grabbed the wrong menus. Well, had we not had to wait so long and she had done her job then we probably wouldn't have had to. Also, this place smells like barn/sweat and is quite grimey. On to the food: Cesar salad is fine, croutons are extremely stale to the point of not being able to bite into them. Our eggplant marino was severely burnt and inedible. The margarita pizza was fine, mediocre, crust was okay. I don't think this is worth it, very disappointing. Prices aren't too bad but you're getting inedible food.
