After a long day at Magic Kingdom at Disney World, this was exactly what we needed! From the moment we ordered, the customer service was excellent. The team member who took our order was friendly and welcoming. When our first batch of chicken came out, it seemed a little dry, like it had been sitting for a while. We mentioned it to her, and without hesitation she sincerely apologized and immediately had fresh chicken prepared for us. The difference was incredible! The freshly cooked chicken was hot, juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My daughter also ordered a chicken bowl and couldn't stop talking about how much she enjoyed it. The restaurant was kind of slow when we arrived but the lobby dined up pretty fast. It was also pretty clean. What really stood out was how the staff handled the situation. Instead of making excuses, they made it right, and that made all the difference. Not many people eating there at that time though there were many people working there. Had to wait a while for the sweet plantains. They were delish but I thought the portion was small for the price. Ordered from the store through the mobile app 15 minutes before arrival. Not only was my order not ready, but I had to wait an additional 40 minutes after arriving for them to make it. I watched the drive thru line come and go multiple times before they even made my food. What was the point in ordering on the app in advance if they're not even going to start the order until I'm there and waiting this long for it?!? Unfortunate first and last visit here. I went through the drive through, I was the only customer there around 7pm. Okay, that's fine. I pulled up and was greeted immediately, but no Hi, just a "What would you like?". I asked for a minute and she said Ok. Then, literally not even 10-15 seconds later she said HELLOOOO? Very rudely. I said I am still here, sorry looking over the menu. I am not ready to order yet, first time. She said Hello again as if she did not hear me, so I felt forced to randomly order something. I told her I am not really ready to order yet but I guess I will try the salad. She said okay, is that all? I said no, I'm sorry I'm still looking over the menu. I ordered in total the salad with extra dressing, a bowl, and a mango freeze. She said "Is that all?" after every item as if she wanted me to be done so badly. I said thank you so much after silence and she said "Kay". I pulled up and my food was served quickly as it should have been considering I was the only customer there. However, when I got home I realized I had gotten none of the sauce I asked for, no silverware, no straw, and NO dressing for the salad. On top of that, the chicken was literally black on the outside from being charred and burnt. About half of the chicken breast was inedible and the rest was extremely dry and stringy. The beans and corn were awesome, everything else was pretty gross. I did not finish the "salad", and my boyfriend said his bowl was very bland without the sauce. The mango freeze was so-so. Also the Caesar salad is good, though I wish they still offered it with the fried nuggets. Some of the sides are also good... Balsamic Tomatoes have a great dressing on them making them very tasty! The best part of going here are the dipping sauces. The Cilantro Garlic is good, but I can't do without the Curry Mustard! One odd issue is they always seem to be out if Coke! when i tell you i love the food here... i could eat pollo tropical morning, noon, & night. i grew up in florida & was obsessed with it, & had to have it any time i visited family in miami (at the time there were no locations in northern florida where i lived). when i moved from florida, i missed it dearly. i was able to go back this year for a visit & it tastes just as delicious as i remember. the chicken is great, rice & beans have incredible flavor, yuca fries on point, mango lemonade hits the spot, all in a cute caribbean atmosphere of a location. staff was awesome & friendly & food was served quickly. bring pollo tropical to the west coast por favor!! read more

Just do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I should have turned around when there was not another customer in the restaurant at 6:30 on a Friday, but no, I decided to take a chance. Service was slow, the chicken was dry, and they substituted the cookie that should come with the kids meal with a piece of bread. Yes, you read that correctly. When I went to ask about the cookie the workers just shrugged. They obviously don't get paid enough to care. My 6 year old cared though. Hands down the best fast food joint I've ever been to!!!! They have grilled chicken you can see grilling! Everything was fresh and yummmmm. I ordered the classic grilled chicken sandwich and my boo had some pulled pork over rice and beans. They gave my sandwich a nice piece of grilled chicken breast. Even though it appeared small for eats, it was quite filling. Chicken wasn't dry, either. I wish they existed in NY! Maybe they do... I haven't really looked into it yet. Excited for my next time there or one of their other locations. All of the staff work together well from what I've noticed. Great customer service too. Some minor things they can do to improve: Menu is a little bit confusing, at least to me it was. I wasn't sure if other items were combos or individual meals and some of the plaques that you see as you enter to the queue are not listed on the menu atop the service counter. Clean the table tops after people get up and go. It was tough to find any table without residue from prior eaters. :( Clean the shmutz from the dressing island or create better barriers to prevent cross contamination of ingredients or condiments. Some of their foods include Citrus Grilled Chicken, pork, salads, Plantains, BBQ Ribs, French Fries, Mac and Cheese, Corn, Rice & Beans. The food is inspired by Caribbean cooking. This is sort of like a Caribbean Chipotle, except you order at the counter, take a number, and then they bring you your food. We were in a rush, so this was the perfect place for us. We shared the chicken bowl which came with chicken, rice, your choice of brown or white, beans and veggies. We also ordered the Caribbean chicken soup and a last minute decision of waffle fries, since their condiment bar looked so awesome. The cilantro garlic sauce was especially delicious.
