I have been a faithful diner at this location since they opened over a year and a half ago, but sadly the original staff that we came to.love and rely on have moved on and have been replaced with people that no longer make us feel like the customer matters. My friends and I went from visiting 2-3 times per week to MAYBE 1-2 times per month simply due to service. THIS last visit will be our last. My friend and I got in line anxious to order because we were extremely hungry. There were 2 other gentlemen in front of us when we noticed the young lady at the register was struggling taking his order. So the drive thru cashier took his order at that register. Finally the cashier was able to take the next gentleman's order but wasn't happy about it. When she got to us she began to ring up my order never once smiling and when I went to use my Pollo Tropical app she informed me it didn't work. So she tried it on the next computer and it didn't work. When I ask for a manager she told me no, the system's down. Honestly I'm not quite sure what that has to do with me wanting to speak to a manager so at that point we decided to leave. When we got to the car my friend called the restaurant and ask to speak to the manager and when we did the manager didn't have much to say and with that we have decided not to return. This restaurant is a TOTAL shiddd show... I'm nearly speechless. The customer service and the way the employees talk to customers is trash. They could really use some training. The guy that took my order was taking orders for the inside and drive thru at the same time, interchangeably. There was also another customer in line that was shaking her head and pretty much said service is bad everytime she comes here. There are plenty of workers but it is very unorganized and chaotic. I'm guessing tourists keep this location open but if the owner knows any better, they would establish customer service training and exact tasks that employees should be doing so they aren't running around like headless chickens. read more

Very very slow service. It took me 15 minutes to get to the counter to order. Once I ordered and paid they told me I have to wait an hour for the food! We came on Wednesday night, it took about 20 mins to get food via drive-thru, and there was just 1 car ahead of us. The next night, Thursday, we got there at 8:30pm and they said we have to wait 45 mins for chicken cause they ran out. Then I come tonight, Thursday night and got here at 8pm n was told there was no drive-thru service. I go inside and then they said it's 40 min wait...40 mins! I use to work at KFC for 3 years and we anticipated how much chicken to make before closing. How do they run out of cooked chicken at 8:30pm?!! Why does it take so long to get food to customers when the dining room is nearly empty? Then I come back 40 mins later n the manager said why did I leave? I told her that your employee told everyone 40 min wait. She was upset and was making my order. Then another customer came into the store n he was looking for his order too n he told her too that her employee told everyone it was a 40 min wait too! BTW we have visited this location several times over the years n it hasn't approved at all. It's a hit n miss tbh. It still has the same problem with long waits at drive-thru for 3 or less cars and running out of chicken or taking too long to get your food. Me and my family come down to Florida every year and used to love getting pollo tropical. These last couple of years it has been extremely disappointing. Slow service, out of all the sauces, the food was ok, not great. Yesterday we went, the workers were slow and mumbled. They forgot parts or our order. We asked the worker taking our order when we could order sauces and they said "when we give you the food". We got our food and asked for the sauces only to be told. "we only have ketchup". Great place, with unique and delicious sauces!!! Atmosphere - You definitely get a Caribbean vibe when you enter. The music just sets the tone for the bomb ass food you're about to eat, and maybe- if you feel like it- you start to move your hips to the beat. Food - I wanted to try the most out of this place so I went for the 1/4 chicken, Ribs, and Mac and cheese as my side. Best thing I would say is the chicken, but the one that takes the cake are their sauces!!! Great sauces and great flavors. Tried to dip my chicken in everything lol. We are disappointed today after ordering from a drive thru. We ordered family menu whole chicken. We also separately ordered fried yuca. We didn't check our orders until we got home. We trusted this restaurant until today. The chicken was grossly burnt. Black and tasteless. It looked like it was grilled multiple times. We threw away half of it. The fried yuca was also rubbery. I understand the price is now inflationary but you can not sacrifice food quality over revenues. I suggest for those doing drive thru to carefully inspect their orders before leaving the window. I had the yellow rice, the balsamic tomatoes, and the corn nuggets. 4 star food. However, the cleanliness could use a boost. Mind you, I didn't go at peak hours so maybe this is b or c squad. The sauces are good. The ones that weren't out. The sauce bar was a mess. No ice in machine. The people were pleasant though. Multi-lingual too So while I will go back for the chicken, because man it's good, This potential 4 star fast food place (which is not the same thing as a 4 star restaurant) loses a star that could easily be picked back up with someone paying attention to the other than good things. That's a plus especially if you're spending your entire day at one of the many theme parks in the area. This location is clean which is always muy bueno. Get the chicken! The place is called Pollo right? So get the chicken! I didn't have any issues with the meat being too dry or anything. I must've had a good chef/prep that day. For a whopping 30 cents extra, I got my meal with all white meat. Still wasn't dry. Ordered the 1/2 chicken meal which they gave me two breasts. Is that mistake? I don't know but I'm not being a sour puss. Got two sides which one being the yellow rice and vegetables. Yep, do it! The second was the corn. A bit excessive on the butter side. Meh. So that order comes out to $7.79. Let's backtrack. We had a meal in one of theme parks earlier that day for lunch. That came out to about $40ish for the two of us. Hell yeah, $7.79 is fan-f-ing-tastic at this point. I got three more days of other parks to visit so I'll take it. Don't complain too much about the food if the price is this cheap. If you're paying more, then expectations are obviously going to rise with that price. She got their chicken spinach wrap with plantains (yes!) and a drink for $4.99. Total for the bill: $13.61 w/ tax. SCORE! Gave our order at the counter, paid, and sat down. Food came out in about 5-10 minutes. Attacked that sauce bar like they were serving truffle butter out of it. No complaints, left happy and quite full. Friendly staff but very disorganized when serving customers. First, our order was rung up wrong. Second, I ordered their chicken rice bowl and when they brought out the food, there's no chicken but only rice bowl and the nerve of the worker telling me that the kids meal don't come with any chicken. I can't understand why they don't know how to read their own menu. Furthermore, who would just order rice only and call it a kids meal. Wtf! Long story short, another worker brought us the chicken for the kids meal. Then, I fill up the drinks at the fountain machine. I poured sweetened mango tea and the drink was unsweetened. Just stopped here for a late dinner. I did drive through and service was fast and friendly. I got the small tropichop, small chicken soup and a fountain drink. My total was $7.80 which is awesome for all that food. My food was fresh and hot however I did find a few mistakes hence the 3/5 stars. My soup had no contents. It was literally liquid and a potato. Idk if it was because it was late and they didn't have much left but that is not chicken soup. My tropichop was very good. I did find a few bones though. Ordered for pickup and my one positive comment is that it was ready when I got there. Otherwise I'm not really happy at all.
